Expensive both times I have gone. Second time it seemed lime there were not enough people working and the menu was limited. My sandwich must have been under the heating lamp for awhile because the bread was hard. Additionally the lettuce on my sandwich was quite brown. The arugula salad was just warm arugula and some lemon dressing on the plate.

Nice bartender and great big bar with many guests from out of town. We enjoyed the angus burger with beer braised onions and smoked gouda, it was delicious. Also had a mojito and bloody Mary. There is great outdoor seating with great people watching to be had.

Our server Juan was amazing! Not only did he provide excellent customer service but he went above and beyond to provide us very useful information about the city, tourist attractions, shopping and the best ways to travel to and from our destinations. The food was really good although the streaks frites were a bit tough the salmon was amazing!!!!...Other than that everything else was pretty stellar. I we definitely will visit again and I would recommend to others!!!

Not worth a penny. I came here around 9:30pm and was rushed into order because the kitchen closes in “5 minutes” 30 minutes later a large group came and still was able to order. I was rushed into ordering their worst dish “feta cheese and squash” which taste’s literally old and bad. I got a beer flight, the waiter was also the bartender somehow and also messed up my flight. All 3 beers were the same and he couldn’t tell what he poured and didn’t write on the board which is which. Not worth a dollar!

I ordered the overnight oats. It smelled and tasted horrible, like vinegar or spoiled milk. My colleague at the table agreed. I immediately sent it back and requested a refund. I was assured that the charge would be reversed; however, one month later, the charge still has not been reversed, and I have not been able to reach the restaurant despite leaving numerous voicemails.

Service was slower than molasses, in spite of having only 3 entree items they were out of one of them. The food was not very good, and they made substitutions without telling me and then tried to argue with me about it. Terrible service and terrible food.

Hard Boiled eggs benidict? After an hour wait for cold food I was pretty disappointed in the quality of this meal. Slow service, overcooked eggs and a soggy English muffin on top that was almost impossible to cut through on the bottom. Try McDonalds down the road.

Hoyt’s is accessible from The Royal Sonesto Chicago hotel. It’s a nice quaint spot you could have breakfast, lunch or dinner without breaking bank. I love the variety of choices that were available for breakfast every morning. The food is reflective of high quality when one taste the Apple chicken sausage, perfect thick bacon, bagels, hash-browns and eggs to order. All in all, simplicity made special. 10/10 It’s worth a try

Went for new happy hour menu and a few drinks. Paul the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Would go back to hang out with him again. Tuna taco had a nice crunchy wonton shell and cool crisp Jicama slaw. Shrimp cocktail was ceviche style and I am a sucker for saltines with shrimp. The wings are worth a trip out and will be back for them.

This is a review for the bar & drinks only-. Had a great time and met some nice folks at the bar. Michael was the bartender and was great. Thanks! P.S. why does the lobby of the hotel smell like 1,000,000 bottles of cheap perfume broke and spilled ? 😂yikes!

Hoyt’s at the Royal Sonesta specializes in American cuisine and adds their own flavorful twists to classic dishes. The location is right in the heart of downtown off Wacker & Wabash making it a great place to stop in if you’re exploring the city, going to a show at the Chicago Theatre, a workday lunch, etc. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner in their cozy indoor dining room, and even have a great patio to take in the city ambiance. We really enjoyed their tasty selection of appetizers and seasonal cocktails, all of which were unique and delicious. The bacon jam on the burger was a sure highlight, as well as the harissa rub on the salmon! SNACKS Crisp Haricot Vert: ginger & soy yogurt, chili oil, cashews, mint, scallion Roasted Mushroom & Gouda Flatbread: mozzarella, chili crunch Charred Scallion Whipped Feta: lemon, honey crystals, naan SALADS Berries & Balsamic: carrot ribbons, honey granola, goat cheese, blueberry balsamic MAINS Harissa Spiced Salmon: red quinoa tabbouleh, red pepper relish, pomegranate molasses Cowntess Burger: cheddar, bacon jam, house sauce, shredded lettuce, buttered bun DESSERT Brownie A La Mode: vanilla bean ice cream COCKTAILS The Hancock: Dewars blended scotch, lemon, smoked pineapple, sage, orgeat The Botanic Gardens: vodka, hibiscus tea, lemon, Tattersall Blueberry Liqueur

american food and service at this location is excellent. Super tasty. Prices were fair. Food is like a restaurant in Louisville I loved.

The worst hotel bar I’ve ever been to. Sat there for 20 minutes, was acknowledged 3 times, and they did not come to serve me or my partner. I honestly think that they tried to be discriminatory because of our age but they were extremely rude and really just made us feel uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place to anyone. :)

Asked for a flight, it says on menu bartenders choice. He said he didn’t recommend it. Chose another drink on menu he didn’t have mint. Menu was basic with very few options. Also refused to put anything on our room because it was a “ holiday”

Was in town for one night and came in 30+ min before closing time for a drink and the dude working told me to leave? because he dropped a bottle of wine therefor he was done and closing for the night? and that i should walk half a mile in the cold after a concert to go to a different bar instead of the one connected to my hotel? annoying. not to mention they’re on “hiatus” from serving room service so at this point just close the place and let this amazing hotel get a better establishment attached.

Located inside the wyndham. A very typical hotel bar. Decent drinks, average food. Slightly overpriced for the offering but understandable as it caters to the business traveler. They have a good beer selection..the staff were very friendly. I would recommend this place if you want a clean, modern place to chill and watch the game.

Bad food, disgusting mixed drinks, poorly trained staff…idk how this place is in business. We’re finding most of the restaurants/bars downtown are sub-par tourist-facing cheap excuses for eateries:/ Tip: Go out into the boroughs for better cuisine and service

We stayed at the hotel connected to this bar and it was one of our most fun moments from our vacation! The staff were super friendly and held a conversation very easily. We appreciated their recommendations on how to get around town and places we needed to try. Drinks and food were good!

Great food and great service! Our food was out in less than 15 minutes! Our server, Jose, was very attentive and never let my coffee get empty.

Enjoyed 4 breakfasts here while staying in the hotel. The breakfast menu wasn't vast but there's nothing wrong with that. What I liked were the substitutions, like switching potatoes for fruit. As someone from the UK the serving sizes were perfect.

Nice place to duck in for a cocktail when you are wandering around downtown Chicago. Its right near the river near Marina Towers. Great Chicago beer and spirit options. Great bartender Carlos can give you education on food, cocktails and beer. TVs with sports and good people.

We loved this place! This was nearby so we ran in without reading reviews or looking into it...DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Juan, our waiter, was AWESOME! He gaves us tips & directions around the city and some recs of places to hit while in town. He was so fun & friendly. Carlos was the bartender and was TERRIFIC! You have to try the Gin for Breakfast! BANGIN!! Food was great as well! We had a party of 4 & everyone really liked what they ordered. We also loved that they have all the local beers. We'll def visit again while we're here!

The chilaquiles taste like authentic Mexican chilaquiles, they just need a little bit more sauce.

A bit disappointing foodwise! Very nice staff, nice interior, modern design, many alcoholic beverage options, with a few food choices. They would count as a great bar, but fall short of a restaurant. The few food options are over-priced & underwhelming. Their dishes have only fancy names & under-deliver. Recommend for a bar, & maybe a snack, but not for food.

My husband and I went to Hoyt’s for breakfast, and the food was outstanding! I had the Peach Crisp Waffle and a side of hash browns. Both were delectable! Our server Juan was very attended and took good care of us.
