I’ve never been disappointed in a restaurant like I was with this place. I have high expectations for this place as a lot of people are taking about it and recommending it so I thought it’s worth trying it. Most people say be prepared for a 45 minutes wait so I came in with that in mind. I was told that the wait was 30 minutes which was not as bad as 45 minutes. When I got there the staff told me I could do a pre-order so that when I get inside the food will be ready for me, turned out not true at all. . I arrived 1:14 PM and I got my food 2:47PM! I was ushered inside after 1 hr and I thought with that wait at least the food should be ready by then. I had to wait another 30 minutes more before I got my order ready. The deep dish pizza was not worth the hype. The crust was hard and dry, this is not an exaggeration, that’s what it really was. totally not worth the wait of 1 1/2 hrs. There are other places in Chicago than this. I am not wasting my time in this place anymore and do not recommend it.. This is just my experience, some people may have better experience than this but I just thought of sharing it so that people would be aware that this things could happen. I may not like the food and experience but it’s different from everyone person, so the choice is yours if you want to give it a try.

This place is way over hyped and kinda over priced. I was looking for a good, thick slice of Chicago style deep dish. We ended up waiting 40 minutes for the pizza to show up barely warm as if it was ready 10 minutes prior but not served. The crust was incredibly hard, and much thinner than expected. The fries/potato wedges were delivered relatively quickly though, and hot and fresh though they aren't even on the menu. Service was excellent though.

Lou Malnati’s is the best Chicago Deep Dish. If you only have time to enjoy one type, pick Lou’s! This location has classic Chicago ambiance, and the pizza is always fantastic. Give yourself plenty of time when dining in, though… these real deal pizza pies take about an hour to bake!

We went to the Michigan Avenue location first which is a tourist heavy area. Since there was a 30 minute wait there, we walked over to this River North location. We walked in and were seated immediately. The service was good and the food was great. We ordered the combo appetizer plate and a Lou Malnati small sausage pizza for the two of us. There is a relaxed vibe here. I highly recommend this location. This is my second time visiting this location with great experiences both times.

We got delivery to our hotel and it was excellent. The deep dish pizza was packaged with care and the pasta portion was generous. The crust on the deep dish pizza was buttery, flaky, and crisp, which is not always easy to accomplish with delivery. The cannoli dip was a delicious sweet ending as well. The delivery driver was awesome and called us when he was arriving so I could meet him in the lobby to get the food. The hotel has a delivery "drop off table" where food deliveries can be left for guests to pick up, but I was very appreciative that the driver called to let us know he was there rather than just leaving our food on the drop off table. Would definitely order delivery from them again, and also look forward to visiting in person sometime.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lou Malnati's, a Chicago institution known for its deep dish pizza. I ordered both the deep dish classic and the thin crust, and both were excellent, but the thin crust was my favorite. The deep dish classic is a classic Chicago deep dish pizza, with a buttery crust, a generous layer of cheese, and your choice of toppings. We got ours with sausage and peppers, and it was delicious. The crust was perfectly cooked, and the cheese was gooey and melted. The thin crust pizza was a surprise hit. I wasn't expecting much from a thin crust pizza at a place known for its deep dish, but I was pleasantly surprised. The crust was crispy and thin, and the toppings were generous and flavorful.  Got ours with pepperoni and it was perfect. Our server, T, was also excellent. She was friendly and attentive, and  made sure that we had everything we needed. She knew the menu well and was able to answer all of our questions. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was fun and casual. I would definitely recommend Lou Malnati's to anyone looking for a great pizza experience.

This was our first time stopping by Lou Manny‘s pizzeria stopped by with my wife shortly before heading to the sold out Chris Tucker concert at the Chicago theater. There was a short weight prior to being seated about five minutes and we were lucky enough to find street parking right in front of the restaurant. Service was great but the real winner here was the thin crust pizza. It was so good very cheesy and delicious. We both gave it two thumbs up. We also decided to get an order of the chicken wings and these were by far some of the most delicious wings I’ve ever had. The wings alone are worth stopping by the pizza was a great addition will definitely be ordering from here again in the very near future.

I liked the Giordano's deep dish more than this one. The crust was a bit more crunchy and the stuffing seemed smaller so it felt less 'deep dish' like. Price however was similar-ish for both of these places. We got an instant reservation here v/s about 30 mins of wait time at Giordano's which was nice! The place had limited seating space but the vibe was decent. Family friendly!

Lou Malnati's never disappoints! As someone who comes to Chicago regularly and has for years, it's one of my favorite places for deep-dish pizza. Arrive early or prepare to wait awhile. Everyone pizza takes a full hour to cook, but it's so worth it. If you're looking for a true Chicago-style pizza, this is a great option.

This was a nice little restaurant I took my kids to while we were on vacation. I was told Chicago is known for its pizza and thought, why not. The atmosphere was great, and the waiter was nice. I had to give it a 3 star because even though we were seated, we waited for over an hour for our lunch. The restaurant is definitely pricy for the food you get, and unfortunately, my kids and I were not impressed by the pizza. I didn't finish mine, nor did one of my sons, and my other son didn't get the toppings he had requested on his pizza. The appetizer was good, though. I unfortunately can not justify spending over $100 on 3 small individual pizzas. I'm happy we tried something new, but it just wasn't our cup of tea.

Wow I'm so happy we decided to stop here. The food was delicious! The wings were perfect. Spicy and hot but they had a great crunch to them even after being coated with the hot sauce. Perfect amount of meat as well. The pizza was REALLY great. Perfect. The sausage underneath was sneaky good. Sauce sweet chunky and just the right amount. The crust was buttery and had a great crunch to it as well. Nice decor no wait and the staff was over the top friendly. Would definitely recommend and go back if I visited Chicago again. A+++

Good place but one minus - they did not warn you about calories, volume and fat content of dishes. This pizza was too bid for our family and we even could not finish one pieces each. It was too fat for us. That was just for experience with famous type of Chicago pizza. In opposite to pizza the plate with salad and appetizer was pretty tasty )

I'm from NYC and was visiting Chicago for the first time with my parents. Of course, we plan to try Chicago deep-dish pizza and with careful research, Lou Malnati's turned out to be our to-go spot for it. During my research, I learned there are slight variations of the deep dish pizza but Lou Malnati's deep dish is one of the closest that anybody can get to the original deep dish recipe. We arrived late afternoon and waited about 15 minutes to get a table, then another 30 minutes for the "The Malnati Chicago Classic Pizza" pie. We decided to order the BBQ chicken wings as an appetizer as we waited for the pie. The BBQ wings were better than I expected; the BBQ sauce was not too overpowering and each chicken wing consistently had a nice delicate crunch as I bit down on it. Then the deep dish pie arrived and it looked so amazing. Our server sliced the pie for us, then left us alone to experience the deep dish and all of its glory. After the first few bites, I feel like something was missing. I try to read my parent's reactions and concluded they were also in the same boat. We were eating this pizza with the same mannerisms as we were eating pizza from Costco. The pizza was good; the ingredients were fresh and the crust was buttery, but it needed something to take it to the next level. Maybe I had high expectations, but nevertheless Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza was not memorable nor will I accept this as THE deep dish pizza. My quest to experience Chicago's glorious deep dish pizza continues...

You can't come to Chicago and not stop in for the best Deep Dish Pizza in the city. The cheese pull in my picture should tell you all you need to know. We were able to call ahead and reserve a spot while we were walking up to the location, and they had a table ready for us by the time we got there. Great food, good service, cold beer. This is our favorite location (the same can't be said about the Michigan Ave location). We'll always come back.

First time in Chicago and very first meal at this legendary eatery! Have heard about Lou Malnati's for years and have watched countless people eat this iconic deep dish pizza on the internet and finally had a chance to do it ourselves and it did not disappoint! The legendary pizza lived up to all of the expectations! It was rich, SUBSTANTIAL amounts of sausage and cheese and very flavorful sauce with chunks of tomatoes with a crispy crust! The decor was filled with sports memorabilia and the staff were very friendly and attentive! Overall, a fabulous dining experience and a perfect start to our Chicago vacation! Considering the four of us had a large appetizer of wings which were also outstanding and beverages including their DaVinci chianti, the bill came out to a very reasonable amount around $20 per person and we left absolutely stuffed! Great value for the money as well. We were very pleased with the entire experience.

We wanted to try some Deep Dish Pizza during our visit and "Lou Malnati's Pizzeria" was recommended to us. I've had Deep Dish Pizza several time before at various places around the US. This Deep Dish Pizza was good, but it would not be at the top of my list. However, I really did like the crispness of the bottom crust. I felt that more spices (not salt) were needed to kickup the flavor. The Cesar Salad was good.

Widely known Chicago pizza spot for a reason! A handful of options to pick from.. pretty sure all are super delicious, at least the ones we tried were heavenly! The place is huge and spacious with lots of seating. Highly recommended if you wanna experience the authentic Chicago style pizza.

Visiting Chicago for the first time, I knew I had to try the world famous deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati's. It was delicious and I enjoyed every bites. I was with my wife and we sat outside. The temperature was pleasant and our server, Calvin, made great suggestions and was very attentive and professional. He made the experience even better. Also, the fried calamari appetizer was very tasty and hot. We had a super time.

Great deep dish! I went to a different restaurant the first time I visited Chicago and was so disgusted by deep dish, but the airport officer encouraged me to try Lou Malnati's instead. It's just the right thickness so it's not like eating a sauce pie. The staff were also extremely kind. We went around 4-5pm on Friday and were able to get in without any wait, but by the time we left it started getting busier.

The perfect crust, delicious sausage and the gooey cheese in a cozy atmosphere. The classic deep dish. You think it looks good in the picture? I guarantee they will surpass your expectations. You may also want to try the boneless wings with bbq sauce while waiting for your main. They say the smell is so good that no one can resist the urge to try even for the snap of a picture!

Lou Malnati’s pizza is absolutely delicious! This Chicago deep dish pizza is incredible! The service was amazing, and our waitress was super high energy and friendly. If you come here, be prepared to wait. It was very busy, and the pizza does take around 30 minutes to cook, but it was definitely worth the wait. We got the combination platter, which came with mozzarella sticks, cheddar cubes, and breaded mushrooms and zucchini and the wings for appetizers. Both were very good, and the apps were all wonderfully crispy. Of course, the main attraction was the deep dish pizza. We got a large cheese, which came with 8 massive slices. We even had to take some leftovers. It was super cheesy, the sauce was tangy and sweet, and the crust was delicious. Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria is sure to be an amazing taste of the classic Chicago deep dish!

The dine-in experience was great. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff was friendly. The original mule they have on the bar is one of the best I’ve ever had. We had a pepperoni deep dish with some garlic bread as appetizers. The food was delicious, although it was a bit much for two people to finish. I’d definitely visit again and try a different dish of pizza.

First time in Chicago and first time at Lou Malnati’s- absolutely AMAZING. Our server tonight (12/11/22) was Luis M. Luis was very attentive and welcoming; he made our experience so much better. The food. OH MY GOD THE FOOD. We got a spinach loaf for an appetizer and it was superb, 9/10! The pizza on the other hand. I. can’t. explain. how. good. it. was. The pizza was impeccable; the perfect balance of ingredients, fresh and high quality ingredients, hot, and mouthwatering. The drinks were also wonderful. The pizza took about 25 minutes, but I honestly would’ve waited 2 hours for even a slice. Absolutely a must-visit place if you’re visiting or haven’t tried it yet. Thank you guys for the experience!

Service was fast and right on point. Pizza is amazing, the personal size is more than enough for one hungry adult. Good price x good pizza. Better is you reserve your place as most of the time in prime time or weekend there are waiting lists... Especially in downtown branches.

After living for years in Chicago, it was nice to be back for business and to be able to enjoy some deep dish pie just like the old days. I love that their crust is vegan unless you order the butter style. So check the website before you order. I did mine as a tomato pie with veggies and the crust still made my individual pizza amazing and worth the price tag. This location also did a great job delivering to us on site at work downtown, so I highly recommend them both based on the quality of their product and their service. For work we did thin crust and it was cut into little squares and we were provided serving utensils, napkins and plates, which made a company lunch super easy. Lou's always wins the Chicago deep dish battle with me! I have a lot of friends on the other side of this fence, but until they're vegan friendly and offer such great service, I'll be hanging with Lou.

Heard a lot of great things about deep dishes in Chicago and had to try it. Ordered the small “Lou” with pepperoni on top to share with a friend. It was delicious but I think sausage would have been better instead of pepperoni. A small was a little too much for my friend and I so if I were to come back I would probably share a personal size. WARNING: because of the nature of this dish, we waited over one hour for our dishes to arrive (the server said it would be a 45 minute wait). I would recommend ordering an app to snack on while time passes. My other 2 male friends ordered a medium Malnati Chicago classic with green peppers on top. I personally liked the Lou more because it tasted lighter.

The pizza was very delicious. The suave was the right consistency and flavor. The cheese was stringy and thick. Make sure to get the butter crust and crumble the sausage or it will be a flat sheet. The service was very good with really nice staff. I order a chicken breast sandwich too and it was good. We also ordered the family salad and it was very fresh with tasty dressing.

First time trying Chicago's famous deep dish pizza. My friend and I ordered the Deep Dish Chicago Classic for two people and it was more than enough. Whilst it doesn't look like much, it definitely fills you up. The pizza was tasty and the crust was so good. I don't think I've tried pizza crust that was this good!

Most likely the best deep dish chain. The cheese layer underneath strategically protects the crispy dough from getting soggy. They take closer to a half hour to bake, but it's so worth it. Look at the size of these pies. Pepperoni or sausage, these monsters serve a person per slice. Best part is they freeze perfectly and the leftovers can be warmed in a skillet or oven for restaurant-level crisp. I've even ordered a whole pie to go on my bus stop through Chicago, took top priority. This has been my gold standard for thick ones.

My husband, doggo and I got a Chicago deep-dish pizza as take away. The process was super simple, we placed an order online on their website, selected the items we wanted as well as time of pickup. Couldn't have been more simple! The food was ready on time and the service was excellent and friendly. We'll be back on our next trip!

I tried a deep dish and a thin crust pizza. I thought both were delicious and meet all of my expectations for Chicago deep dish pizza. The ingredients were fresh and good quality. The bar drinks were also good and well priced.

Lou's is great Chicago deep dish. This location is nice because it has a small outdoor patio which was shaded during lunch. Great service and very good food. Go for the buttery crust for a special treat.

Top notch pizza. Does not disappoint. We had 3 pizzas for a party of 10 and we had leftovers. We loved the Lou’s pizza, sausage/pepperoni, and another recommendation from the waiter. Tasty salad as an appetizer. Lots of room to accommodate for big parties. Would recommend to anyone who loves a good pizza.

First time visiting Chicago and what a great city it was. I had to try their pizza. This place was so great and the setting was so comfy too. This was a 12" pizza and it was delicious. Loved it! I should have go one to go lol. The Bruschetta was was just as good to.

Was recommended this place by a local and it did not disappoint. Ordered the calamari and 2 small deep dish pizzas and barely finished one. Amazing pizza and the restaurant seems a lot bigger than it appears. Cool baseball memorabilia and decor around entire restaurant. Some of the best deep dish I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for a Chicago style pizza.

From the service to the food, everything was great!! It was my first time eating deep dish pizza and it was delicious. I had to buy the frozen pizza to take back home to Dallas with me

If visiting Chicago, you can't leave without stopping in to Lou's for some deep dish pizza. I ordered the original Lou's pizza and it was phenomenal! Crust was just the right thickness, crispy yet full bodied. Sauce was savory and not too much spice. And the sausage was a perfect complement to round out the dish. I ordered a small deep dish and are 3/4 of it myself. A "personal" size would have probably been enough for me but, "when in Rome."
