Good vegan restaurant with healthy food. Fast service. But the room is very empty, there is no design, it was uncomfortable for me. It seems that this establishment is dying or getting ready for renovation. There were absolutely no people at lunchtime. It used to be popular. Perhaps something happened. It's a pity, I wish them a speedy return and success!

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SICK. The only good thing was the cauliflower wings. The food tasted stale and freezer burned, and old oil was definitely used. The food made us feel sick afterwards. We will definitely not be coming back. The appearance of the food is deceiving. If all looks fine and fresh until you start eating and notice the chemically-freezer-old oil-gross taste. The wait staff seemed friendly, but my GOD the food was atrocious. Do not come here.

We really liked this place! Yes it's a bit pricey for fast food, but given we'd paid $30 for a couple of impossible whoppers a few days earlier it seemed pretty reasonable for a city centre location! I found the range of options pretty good and as it was only a few minutes from our hotel we went here a couple of times and really enjoyed everything we got. I'd definitely recommend it.

I guess it’s like a fast food vegan place. It was good and fresh no complaints on that. Could’ve been a little more generous on the fries! Also no condiments (ketchup) or napkins around to grab you gotta ask for them. It seems pretty closed down and it could be a little cleaner inside too.

Amazing vegan food. I have had vegan food all over the midwest & west coast, and these are the best vegan burgers I have ever had. I will be coming back every time I visit chicago.

This place is definitely a great alternative to fast food! I have been entertaining cutting meat out of my diet. This is definitely the perfect place for a vegetarian or vegan that wants to not have to ask Mcdonald’s to separate their fries from the meat or ask a hole in the wall to separate they’re vegan meal from their other meat products. The ambience is great when you walk in. It smells clean and I like the artwork 🖼 on the walls. The staff was very friendly. I ordered some type of plant-based chicken wings & brought it back to my office.. They are on a bed of greens 🥬, cabbage, and onions 🧅 . It is covered in a Thai sauce. I can’t remember the name of the dipping sauce. It’s great. The fries 🍟 definitely have a unique dry rub. It’s all very delicious I will return several times in the near future. 😁

10 STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!! This was my husband and I first time visiting Native Foods Cafe on Clark Street, and it was a treasured find!! It's not like plant-based foods once served, where you will find it bland and grainy, but it was well prepared & extremely pleasant to my palate. Since it was our first time, the clerk (Zari) was such a beautiful soul in assisting us with our choices and making the whole experience smooth! If you're in the Chicago area, do yourself a favor and stop by one of their three locations.. Milwaukee, Belmont, or Clark Street. You will not be disappointed! N.Bailey APPROVED✅️

Pretty good even for a meat eater. Would recommend for people looking to try new things. Could open up a new thing for you. Nashville hot was pretty good, just not hot really. I'd say moderately warm. Would really need to spice it up to call it hot. Good stuff though.

Yum! Great tasting hot and fresh vegan food near the Hilton Chicago. The food hits the spot for me. Don't miss this gem when you are at the Hilton Chicago.

So happy to see this place was alive and well in Chicago! I used to frequent this vegan joint in California when it seemed like there were locations everywhere—then so many of them closed down. If you are vegan or try to eat plant based, this is absolutely the best place for a solid meal! Highly recommend their chicken tenders and anything that features their plant proteins especially burgers and sandwiches! I also love their salads that are hearty and filling/packed with protein. An hr before closing they were still getting tons of walk-ins.

Cozy and friendly staff. Went close to the store closing hour so took pictures of the inside (to avoid taking pictures of customers!). Orange Cauliflower was yummy - I walked around for like 30 min before sitting down to take the picture so the display is off but the taste was great. I care a lot of saltiness and this one was perfecto 👌. Coating around cauliflower was spot-on too. Made it taste like chicken, lol, except obviously cauliflower was cauliflower (can't duplicate chicken texture). The only reason I didn't give 5/5 for service was that the portion size was slightly smaller than I had expected. Otherwise a healthy-eat out choice! Would recommend and I'm eager to try another dish.

OMGGGGGG I was introduced to this slot years ago before I became VEGAN and it was really delicious then. Now that I’m back I know WHY I kept the name stored in my mental Rolodex!! It’s fantastic the service is outstanding and I’m eating now but can’t wait to return again and again. If you’re in Chicago or near Hype Park VEGAN or not…you must taste this deliciousness!!

The food is still good, but it's disappointing that Native Foods has shifted away from reusable serviceware. At this location, only plastic utensils were available and purchased drinks were served in disposable plastic cups with plastic lids and plastic straws, all of which are trash after one use. No ketchup was available except in plastic packets, so I had to eat my fries dry. The plastic utensils are supposedly compostable which is better on the front end since they're not made from fossil fuel, but since Chicago doesn't do industrial composting, they won't be composted and are still trash. Many people eat vegan because it's better for the planet, but the deluge of disposable plastic they're serving up makes this restaurant unappealing to environmentalists. Also, this location had more of a run-down McDonald's fast food vibe than locations in southern California.

We had the Chicken Bacon Avo Club and Cauliflower Chickpea Shawarma Bowl for dinner. The veggie bacon on the burger was delicious and the seasoned fries were very tasty. Good portions. The shawarma bowl was a healthier option, a great choice for people trying to stay away from burgers and fries. Tahini sauce and house-made dressing really make this dish! Staff was friendly and helpful, the food was ready in about 10 minutes. Will come back! :)

I rarely see anyone in this place. The prices are too high so i always go to the chipotle a few doors down. Food is good, but those prices are keeping people away.

Looking for vegetarian options for lunch, we found Native Foods and we weren’t disappointed. The menu looks a lot like a regular rest. with Buffalo wings, burgers, wraps, and of course, bowls but all plant-based. My hubby loved his double burger, sweet potatoes fried, and wings. I had a chicken wrap with seasoned fries. My daughter had a quinoa bowl full of veggies. Plus, we ordered a vegan date bar for dessert that was to die for. All of it was delish. It was a bit pricey but totally worth it for we ate plenty, had left overs, and continued with our day with bellies full yet feeling energized and light.

Ordered a Chicken run ranch and A Twister wrap, and the taste was DELICIOUS. It’s by far the best Vegan restaurant I’ve been to in the whole of US. I’m Seattle based and I hope you guys expand to the west coast. Plus it costed $30 which seemed totally worth it.

The food taste good! A normal wrap taste nothing extraordinary. Only thing I took 2 stars is there was a hair in one of our wrap. They took it back but it’s not hygienic.

I am giving this location 5 stars because of the service provided by the manager Marquette and He provided awesome service, was positive and said he was going to keep pushing through even though he was short staffed. I have seen this location go wayyyyyy downhill since it first came to Hyde Park both food and service wise, but Marquette was wonderful! The new menu item is only available thru May—I will return for it because of Marquette. Get him some staff support so that you retain good talent. Also keep new menu items ON the menu.

The food runner was nice and the cashier was helpful. Food taste lighter than it looks, I had the crunch wrap combo and chicken tenders. The oatmeal cookie pie had a tasty cream filling. Four stars for the convenience.

Native Foods has steadily raised their food prices while their food itself has not stayed consistently good. I have gone here for several years and typically get the jalapenio burger and sweet potato fries and a oatmeal cookie. Generally, those were fresh and good. I would have rated this place a 4 out of 5 stars originally even though their cookies have been a bit too hard the last several times. Today however, their burger was really bad. This was like a 6 hour McDonalds hold over that was not juicy and the bread was hard and the fake meat and cheese were dry. For $30+ dollar meal this was unacceptable and I cannot in good concience continue to frequent this place.

This is a first ever restaurant we tried which is purely vegan. They have amazing menu and food quality. The service is quick and we enjoyed the vegan chicken there 😁. It doesn’t even felt like we are not having a real meat. It was amazing 😋

Very lovely atmosphere and service! I have an allergy to nuts and it was so amazing how on top of it the workers were. I got the Chickpea Cauliflower wrap with a side of sweet potato fries and it was very good, my only critique is that I wish it had been a little warmer. Over all it was a great experience and I’d come back in a heart beat.

My daughter is vegetarian and lactose intolerant so a vegan diet suits her best. We came on a Friday at 6 before a show at the CIBC. I was pleasantly surprised at the extensive menu, good food and attentive service. I had the twisted wrap - it was terrific. The organic root beer was light and delicious. Great service, clean, plenty of seating and good location in the loop.

This place is worth the trip. Everything is fresh and quality ingredients. Even the ketchup is organic with no high fructose corn syrup in it. The Nachos are delicious and I haven’t tried the Chicken tenders yet. Not into fried as it’s not healthy but someone will enjoy it. Previous 3 Star Review Left 8/3/23 Nice Clean Spacious Restaurant. Service is AMAZING. Food is just Ok. It’s definitely much better than the processed food vegan restaurants. I will try and order something different and update the review if anything changes. The steamed Kale is Ok. The Munchwrap was cooked to hard. And the flavors is just ok.

Went here and had the sweet potato fries, nachos and orange cauliflower. I didnt like the fake meat on the nachos but the other toppings on it was amazing, especially the sauce. I would definately recommend the nachos and fries but would definitely NOT recommend the cauliflower. The cauliflower itself was fine and crispy but the rice, (despite that they made it twice, which was very nice of them) still tasted very salty, even some parts were bitter and looked like they threw some frozen peas and carrots in there. Also the sauce for the cauliflower was not good at all. Definitely they need to change the recipe or take it off the menu. Other than that outdoor seating was nice and the cashier was very amicable.

I loved my experience at this restaurant. The young man here was very helpful and friendly. He explained many of the menu items to me since I had never been to a restaurant like this. He also chatted a little bit with me while he rang me out. That made me feel like a person and not a number. I wish that I had his name because he deserves credit for being so awesome. The food was superb! The cookie and the brownie was all of that! You got to have them. And my cheeseburger was great. I also tried a meat ball sub, which was also great! It was so great to see a place like this downtown. I love to eat downtown but there's not many options for vegan diets.

I placed an order for my lunch on the Native Foods app . For delivery. I was told they don’t deliver so I asked for the manager for a refund. He never came to the phone. I had to call back and asked the cashier to hold it I’ll pick it up . When I got to the restaurant the manager threw it out . Never offered to replace it . At this point I asked for a refund he said it would be on my debit card. I called the bank and to my surprise it wasn’t. So now I have no lunch and I’m out 23 dollars. Native Foods please hire a manager who is an adult with experience. The one you have working this Sunday 2/20/22 clearly doesn’t.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but my order was slightly off. The food is really. I ate at the one at Wicker Park, and fell in love. However, at this Hyde Park location I asked for extra ranch for my faux chicken tenders, paid for it and didn't get it. Secondly I wanted my tenders tossed in buffalo and I got plain instead. Thirdly, there was a sauce with my sweet potatoes fries I got in Wicker Park that was so good. I didn't get that sauce, but ketchup instead. I ate the food anyway and it was good. I would try this location again, but they should not rush orders.

I only have one word for this restaurant. It’s AMAZING. The food tasted really Healthy fresh and tasty. The Korean Noodle bowl was on a spicy side. Drinks were decent. Food is pricey. The waiter got us a free dessert for my friend’s birthday. It was a nice gesture. Lastly, We had dogs with us and had called few restaurants which were pet friendly but none of them allowed the dogs and the patios were closed because of the Winter. But True Food Kitchen was so kind to seat us outside. Must try place.

Finally went after wanting to try them for so long( unfortunately closing July 1)... But anyhow I ordered a Plant based chicken, bacon avocado sandwich with seasoned fries!!! Deliciousness overload!!! Seasoned very well...Staff was sitting outside BUT became very attentive &courteous upon my arrival, her name was Shana, like me...she let me know what items were unavailable, I was slightly heartbroken because I really wanted to try the cauliflower wings lol.. But the sandwich made up for it! If they weren't closing permanently I would've definitely go again!!!

Good vegan places are rare in Chicago, so we were super happy to find Native so close to where we were staying. The food is good, although I’d recommend the ‘junk’ food such as the burgers over the more healthy food as my Buddha bowl today left a lot to be desired.

Food was not as expected and I got food poisoning after . I used to love native foods but when I came in last week my whole expectation was turned upside down. The lady didn’t even greet us and she didn’t seem like she wanted anyone there.A few hours after eating here my sickness began and was lethargic. The buffalo mac bowl seemed thrown together and had way too much tabasco.

Ironically, just as I'd posted earlier from "Feed Your Head" I'd already mapped out and planned to hit Native Foods for takeout to bring with me on the last 21-hour leg of my train trip back to NYC - because, once again, Amtrak SUCKS when it comes to Vegan food options - as in, there ARE none (unless you like eating pretzels and hummus sold in those little plastic cups, for breakfast lunch and dinner! 😳) Anyway, I ordered a Buddha Bowl, and a Chicken, "Bacon" & Avo Club with a side of Potato Salad. Between that, and the gyro from Feed Your Head, I should be alright until I return to NY, NY! Update #1: I opted to have the Chicken, Bac'n & Avo with Potato Salad for breakfast (I was so hungry, I snapped the photo added here, AFTER I bit into it - 😋 - LOL - BTW, that's just outside of Buffalo, NY whizzing by in the background - feels kinda nice being back in my home state again ♥️) This really hit the spot, and tasted really good even after 12 hours on the train, so I can imagine how good it is freshly made! The Potato Salad, with fresh dill, (I LOVE dill) was tasty and tangy. This, with a freshly made coffee in the Cafe car was one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. Bravo, Native Foods! 👏👏🌱 Update #2 - so more than 12 hours later, we're still on the train, due to heavy rain and severe flooding in the entire Hudson Valley Region....never made it past Rhinecliff, and we're currently being pulled back up to Albany, New York where we'll either be put up for the night in a hotel (not betting on that,) or else Amtrak is working with New York State to have buses brought in that will bring us to our NYC destination (Moynihan/Penn Station) And, once again, I was rescued by a Vegan establishment, this time with Native Foods sweet and savory Buddha Bowl, which held up perfectly over the last 29 or so hours. 😀 Updated from previous review on 2023-07-09 Pros: Excellent customer service, Food is fresh and tasty

Really delicious stir-fried rice. The orange cauliflower was tough and chewy, as if not freshly cut, battered and fried. I would still consider stopping again to try other menu items.

Terrible experience. I just left this establishment and I was really excited to try this place. My burger and my mother’s burgers were burnt to cause them to be mostly inedible. I showed the staff the burnt half that I pulled off to still eat it because I was hungry and I didn’t get a sorry or an offer for a refund in any capacity. They are really unprofessional and are incompetent with handling customer complaints unfortunately,

What an amazing restaurant. I'm a meat eater but I do eat healthy once in a while :). And this is the place I go to. My wife, who has been a vegetarian for the past 16+ years took me here for the first time (Forest park) location which closed :(. But we looked around and found the two other locations and eat. I have tried almost all their stuff and never complained once. It's always on point. We love the cookie with the cream filling as our desert after our meals. Love the fresca juices as well. I like the watermelon.

Native Foods has the most complete vegan menu in downtown Chicago. The chicken sandwiches are fantastic, especially the chicken, bacon, and avocado club and the crazy good chicken sandwich. One vegetarian and two vegans descended on this place and ordered a ton of food. And you get so much, we had to take half of it back to our hotel. When we were standing at the counter ordering this and that, and this and that, we didn't think much of it. But all of us looked around at each other when the cashier said that'll be $72. Did we hear that right??? Yep. We looked at our receipt and ...that's what we ordered! Appetizers, entrees, drinks and dessert for three people. BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!! This may not seem like a big deal to many people, but that's a rare, very rare, super rare thing for me to do, be able to order that much food. My dining experiences almost always come out to about $15 per person, if that. You know why? Being vegan, I normally can't order but one thing on a menu at a "regular" place, hence a $12 or so item - singular. To be able to order everything off of a menu?!?! Unheard of normally, but once in a great while I come across a gem like this place where I can run wild through the menu. And this was well worth the price. We just chowed down and all we could hear from each other was "MMMMMM this is soooo good!" I would get so fat if I lived near this place because I would be eating here all the time. (Don't make our mistake - remember to get some utensils in case you're staying at a hotel and want to eat the rest of your food later in your room. Here's my salad. Where's a fork?)

Decent entrees, but unpriced overpriced extras. $3 for a small cup of generic coffee? $6.50 for a chilled cookie and creme sandwich? Wasn't on menu, so came as a surprise on the receipt.

I like Native Foods, but I did not like the cashier. She was immediately unfriendly (why I do not know), and I received the wrong sandwich. Terrible service today!

I went there for the first time with a vegan friend. I had the meatball sub which is very good. The people who work there are great. I had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning.

Delicious vegan options. For the amount of food and the quality this establishment's food is fairly priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant with the warning that parking in this area is often scarce,

This Native Foods is the best one I have been to. The food is always wonderful and tasty compared to other locations I have been. The manager here is super nice and friendly, just like the rest of the staff. If you come, I recommend the cauliflower chickpea shawarma or really anything because everything is soooo good.
