Litos is finally open again😭 we tried empanadas all over Chicago to get our fix while they were closed but the other places didn’t come close to how delicious the food is here. They re-opened and have much more seating now that they expanded. They also added some new additions to the menu like burritos and nachos. The chorizo empanada was my favorite. Welcome back to the neighborhood we’ve been waiting for you!🧡

It was perfect!! We got spinach and cheese, elpastor and chorizo and cheese. I highly recommend all of them specially chorizo and cheese! They have a diverse set of special sauces that they made themselves.

*I am a former employee* Ernesto Guzamn, the owner of Lito's and many other business he has, owes a sum of over $1k that he has not payed me for when I worked for him. I have been contacting him since March 22nd regarding this and he denied it and has now stopped answering my messages and calls as of April 13th I am waiting for my payment especially considering the whole 6 months I worked with I did not once recive a payment on time which led to this issue I have turned to writing this in the Google review seeing that he has been avoiding talking to me.

These empanadas were so tasty!! #6 was my favorite. Staff was so friendly and the food came out quickly, was also reasonably priced. Perfect for our Saturday afternoon snack. Menu attached!

Empanadas here were so good; right amount of crispiness on the outside and savory flavor (I ordered four different kinds) on the inside. Highly recommended to try their sauces; goes real well together! Makes me want to go there now to grab some.

They lost one star because the last time I ordered for delivery thru Grubhub, April 27, my empanadas weren’t hot and fresh like they normally are. They were barely lukewarm. I originally had lito’s from the French market (or rather from inside the market area) a year ago, just stopping in. I loved them! That creamy, green sauce is to die for!! So when I found out this new location on Clark street delivered to my location thru Grubhub I almost died. I ordered two beef and rice empanadas and three chicken and rice empanadas. Now, when I got them from the French market, my favorite was the chicken and rice. That chicken was fresh, juicy, and seasoned so well! Yet, from this location, the chicken was a bit dry. There needed to be way more flavor too. It wasn’t horrible, but I wasn’t feeling it. The beef and rice, however, was so good! The flavor was SPOT ON. I first ordered on April 13, and the empanadas were hot and fresh! I don’t like that they charge .25 for sauce. They need to redo their Grubhub profile and make the sauce a choice when you order the empanada. I mean you are already paying for the empanadas, you should at least get 1 free sauce for that. Which is also why a star was taken off. I mean they do put more sauce in the bag, but I use two sauces per empanada because they are a nice size. I am not paying for all that sauce. Now I ordered April 13 and they were awesome, same with my second order April 26. It’s the April 27th order that didn’t hold up to the other two. Other than that, this location, like it’s sister location I ate from before, definitely holds up. I suggest the beef and rice. I also ordered the apple caramel on April 27-THAT ONE you can skip. The filling is mushy and not good. It tasted very sour. That filling ruined the whole empanada. I would’ve preferred just the fried bread with the cinnamon and sugar.

The empanadas at this place are amazing! I ordered the Nutella with banana, and the spinach with cream cheese which were delicious. I really intend to try all the flavors, super recommend

Love when a place sucks to what they're great at. Lito's has fantastic empanadas, and the only other thing you can get here is a bottle drink. The empanadas were fresh, delicious, and economical ($3/each). Highly recommend this place for a quick bite.

This place was an amazing find! Huge portions for the price and food was amazing! The nachos and burritos are HUGE. The image I show is the nachos....they are LOADED and delicious. Amazing job to the chef. Definitely recommend this place to any Mexican lovers.

I did not expect these empanadas to slap so hard! I’ve also never had them so stuffed without bursting, that takes skill 👏🏼. 10/10 I think these are the best empanadas in town and would definitely recommend them

Tried this place the other day. I got a beef empanada and an al pastor empanada. They were both freshly made to order. It came with a spicy cream sauce and a green chimichurri like salsa. The meat were ground for both empanadas, the flavors were ok but needed maybe a bit more seasoning. The sauces helped a lot. The crusts for the empanadas were nice and crispy though.

The empanadas were so amazing. I came here on a Friday night and it wasn’t busy. The chorizo empanada was amazing and I will definitely be back for these. I also got the steak tacos which were ok but I wouldn’t get them again. Stick to the empanadas and you will love it.

My favorite place for burritos in Chi!! I actually love them so much. You can’t go wrong with the pastor or steak burritos. The flavors are unreal and it’s huge! I like to put the green sauce on it but be careful if you’re sensitive to spice. They have a lot of seating and service is usually pretty quick. I see many people order to-go; I like to dine in. I haven’t tried their empanadas yet. I’m sure they’re excellent though.

We had the chicken one, the beef one, and the chorizo and cheese one, and they were amazing! The dough had the perfect texture, and not too oily, and the flavors were great. A little pricier, but they even impressed my partner who grew up on empanadas.

Really tasty empanadas (about $4.50 each after tax). I think the mild sauce is pretty good. Only concern was that the bathroom was out of soap.

Have been here twice. Flavorful empanadas that are made in house. Would recommend the savory ones, especially the chorizo one. The desert ones , like the apple pie, are not worth it. Seating is limited in the store so be ready to cozy up with other diners.

Delightful, got the #3, #6, and #8 and all were perfect, but the spinach and mozzarella was heavenly. Will def be planning to come here again.
