Great Italian food! Fried calamari was well seasoned and fried perfectly! Pizza had a great combination of cheeses and crust had a perfect chew. The spinach stuffed ricotta and tomato was fresh and simply delicious! The olive oil cake and lemon sorbet was a great end to a great meal! A little longer than expected, but we ordered from different places.

WOW JUST WOW! 🤩 This place is the real Italy.. Food was amazing, it’s confusing walking in but just know it’s sorta like an Italian grocery store and also a bunch of restaurants combine. So many wine choosing. And kid friendly too! Such a fun environment and staff were so helpful and kind. We loved eating at the Vino Restaurant the food was 10/10!! 🤍🇮🇹🍝

Had a delicious dinner at Eataly! Now, the upstairs is one giant pizza/pasta eatery instead of a bunch of smaller eateries (they used to have a seafood place & a little beer bar). We enjoyed everything we ordered & all the dishes were freish & executed well. Service from Joel was excellent. We got the fried calamari & shrimp (delish), the fried chicken & the veal stuffed pasta. I also got a couple of desserts to go from the first floor cafe. Such a fun place to shop & eat!

I didn’t eat here. The wine experience and the sheer volume of Italian goods were incredible. We chose to guess the wine and enjoyed the bottles tried. We weren’t successful, but we were close and we enjoyed the company. The server was very kind, patient, and funny. We enjoyed ourselves greatly. Thanks so much.

This is a truly Italian place to go to, both for shopping and dining. Authentic Italian food everywhere you look, and it's a celebration of the cuisine and culture. It's a must-go for any foodies in the area, and every time I go, I leave wanting more. I can't say much else about this place in writing because it is truly a sensory experience that one can only really experience from going there. Even without buying anything, it's an eye-opening experience. Very nicely done.🤌

Went here with someone that's from Italy, and he vouched for the authenticity. The food is good, and the staff is friendly. I like to get their pizzas here, personally like the capricciosa, but also like the cacio E pepe, the arugula salad, and the wines!

This is the one place I enjoy visiting each time I travel to Chicago, especially during the Holidays. Atmosphere is festive. I usually grab something at the bar, pasta and wine, and then meander through the store for gift ideas. This time I decided to grab and dessert and coffee too. It's got everything... chocolates, pasta, wine, cheese and other food items you would expect in an Italian store. Next time you are in Chicago, be sure to stop by... Ohio Street, 2 blocks off the Magnificent Mile (Michigan).

Aside from a grumpy hostess, every bit of our experience at La Pizza & La Pasta was fabulous. Our waitress, Michelle L, was thoughtful, attentive, and informed. She was responsive while allowing us time to enjoy our meal. It was a delight!

I always make it a point to visit Chicago’s Eataly for any city trips. Always go for their always fresh bread baked on site. Get some great imported wine, and some cheese, especially the mozzarella which they ALSO make on site daily. The ambiance of this place is also truly special. Walking around and seeing all these amazing ingredients. Worth your time and money.

Eating in Eataly is always a fun mental getaway. I cherish the authentic Italian sauces and cheeses. We tried a bit of everything and shared. Portions are perfect if you don’t share. Light and delicious. Didn’t leave me feeling excessively heavy like most competitors.

Not really an authentic Italian experience, but still excellent. The food from the restaurants are fresh and delicious. We spent too much time food/wine shopping. They also have a bakery, butcher, and even fresh pasta to take home. Tons of imported goods and good staff. Clean building. Would recommend to pasta and wine lovers. A great place to meet friends or fun for a first date.

An amazing comprehensive Italian experience with a wide selection of Italian food, wine, cheese, meat and other culinary elements. The Neapolitan pizza is a must try. The cheeses are amazing. They also do an Olive oil tasting! Many options in pasta, antipasta, pizza and desserts. Overall a solid experience and dive into the Italian culinary culture. Worth a visit for eating and shopping.

We came here for lunch as a group of 3 and had made an online reservation. We were seated immediately and orders were taken quickly. What I liked - 1. The food is fantastic. It’s rare that I like every single dish ordered at a restaurant and this place didn’t disappoint one bit. Loved the in-house made burrata with orange marmalade. The pizza with roasted potatoes looked intriguing so I ordered it. And loved it so much! The pastas (spinach and ricotta ravioli & butternut squash ravioli) were great as well. Desserts we tried - tiramisu and chocolate and amaretto custard. Both were excellent. 2. Service was really quick and great. No complaints. What I didn’t like - 1. It is quite noisy inside as there are also stores around the restaurant selling authentic Italian stuff. Would have enjoyed more if my dining experience was quieter. 2. It’s a bit expensive. We spent around $40 per person not including gratuity. Overall, we loved the food and will return for sure for special occasions perhaps.

Not our first time at Eataly. This time our food was marginal. The pasta under cooked or sat under a heat lamp too long. The Pizza Margarita was unimpressive. The service was great and our waiter Chris very attentive. The tiramisu was very good.

Loved it. We had some meat and cheese, bucatini all’amatriciana, rigatoni carbonara, and the tiramisu. Everything was tasty, and our service was great. A little pricey but it’s downtown Chicago so what do you expect. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more.

Make a reservation! The spaghetti is simple but traditional. Absolutely amazing. Try to ravioli. It’s a small dish but very rich and flavorful. They have a huge wine selection. Their steak is AMAZING. The atmosphere is phenomenal. Open concept, you can watch the cooks and see all of the pastas. It’s an experience you shouldn’t miss out on. At least stop in at Eatly. I will definitely be back. My favorite place in chicago!

Excellent food and unique drinks. Great dining experience within the Eataly Market, everything was fresh and very delicious. Not sure if it's a seasonal item but highly recommend the Fiore di Piselli (spring pea filled pasta) it's a dish I'll think about for a long time.

Dined at the Osteria di Eataly - one of the 3 restaurants at Eataly Chicago. If you are someone who appreciates authentic Italian cuisine, this is a really good place. Ambience is pretty but reservations are highly recommended. The Eataly marketplace selling pasta, olive oil and other Italian items is a good plus too.

This is my second time eating at Eataly now bringing Chicago visitors and it was just as good the second time! The food, vibe, and service were all wonderful! We ate in the Pizza and Pasta section and ordered 4 different kinds of pastas. My personal favorites were the ones without pomodoro/tomato base with the gnocchi with pasta being my number 1.

Fantastic food and felt extremely confident in their health measures COVID wise. With a place this size, can’t imagine it is easy at all to try and manage the flow of people, but they did an amazing job, thanks for the great service, food and o ya, truffles!

Enjoyed each dish we had at Eataly! We started with the Classico meat and cheese tray and the calamari - both excellent. The Tagliatelle all Bolognese was fantastic - fresh pasta and a tasty sauce. I took the waiters suggestion of the bucatini - it was good, but prefer my noodles cooked more than al dente (it was listed on the menu, so my fault for not seeing that). The sauce was very flavorful though! The gluten free Margherita pizza was excellent. The apple pie tarte with vanilla gelato was excellent. I don’t have a picture - but was told the tiramisu was the best ever eaten!

I love going to Eataly any chance I get! From the good food, to all of the wonderful imported items you can get, everything is absolutely fantastic. There are usually samples of meats and cheeses, as well as things like wine and all kinds of goodies from Italy! There's validated parking at the Parking Garage across the street, but it's only good for about an hour, so be sure to keep track of the time.

We had multiple amazing meals here and great shopping too. I ordered a cream paste with prosciutto. It was amazing! I'm lactose intolerant and knew I would pay for it but it was worth it (TMI. . .) it was amazing. My daughter ordered a very simple pasta with red sauce but was delicious. The pasta was fresh and delicious.

Love coming here religiously, if that’s for a bottle of wine or some ingredients for dinner even dessert.. I always find something I like. Having a glass of wine and enjoying the restaurant as well is never disappointing would recommend it always.

Food is acceptable/good. Surely not the best in town but still above the average for Chicago. Appetizers can’t be served in coffee plates. This is not Starbucks. Service is simply ridiculous. No one showed up to remove used dishes. Glasses were simply dirty. No support for additional orders or just to check if everything was fine. Mr.Farinetti has surely set higher standard. Train your staff.

The marketplace area is cool, lots of authentic Italian ingredients to buy. We were curious about the the La Pizza & La Pasta sit down restaurant and gave it a try. It was okay. The Rigatoni Alla Carbonara was very salty. When our server asked us about our meal, we were honest with him. He explained that this was just the nature of the dish as the base is made with Pecorino Romano plus the saltiness from the guanciale (dried pork jowl). But regardless, this dish is way too salty. Mozzarella was delicious!

Wednesday is a busy night at the restaurant. It took a while for our order, then for dessert and the bill. The bruschetta was wonderful with zucchini and fresh ricotta. The mushroom papardelle were cooked perfectly, the seafood pasta needed another minute to cook, very few shellfish for the price. We tried the olive oil cake, which was good. Pricey, I'm not sure I'd return as I didn't love it.

Had the pesto prosciutto pizza for dinner. Thin and chewy crust. Very lightly brushed with pesto and 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half. 3 slices of prosciutto on top. This is what a $32 pizza gets you at Eataly. Way overpriced. And that was to go not even served at tables. Eataly has a lot of produce In store but it is expensive and what I call a tourist trap. Great selection of wine and olive oils and cheese and cured meat, but expensive. Be my guest if you want to spend $130 for a family of four eating small pizzas with not much ingredients on top. Worth stopping to look around. Watch your budget.

This was one of the first restaurants I’ve been to post-covid and it was excellent as ever!! Shared the gluten free pizza with my sister and we got the kale salad as well. For desert it was mango sorbet, which was amazing.

I’ve heard nothing but great things about Eataly and knew I had to check it out the next time I was in the city. To start off, I got an Italian soda which was awesome! I’ve never had Italian soda before so being able to try that was amazing! The bread service was small, but if you order an appetizer (like we did), it’s the perfect amount. Our appetizer was the peach bruschetta and it was AMAZING! The whipped ricotta and the peach jam on top of warm, crispy bread was just to die for. I honestly would go back just for that. If you’re in the mood for a traditional bruschetta though, this may not satisfy you, but you should still try it because it’s simply perfection. The pastas we had (pomodoro and lasagna) we’re both cooked to perfection and had plenty of flavor. The portions look small, but it’s definitely enough to leave you feeling satisfied and full! We will definitely be back the next time we’re in the city! Thank you Eataly!

Many positive things toene this site. The location is perfect, if you move by train it is very practical, since the train station is very close. The place is very big, two floors full of Italian things. The food is divine, very very very exquisite. A great wine list. The prices are excellent. All the staff are very friendly . Recommended

Yes, you should definitely check out Eataly. A “don’t miss spot” when in the area. Walking through the store is an adventure in itself. Check out the beautiful meat, seafood and cheese cases. I wish I took more pictures! Buy a loaf of amazing, fresh bread! Try the pizza! The coffee! The gelato! Try it all! My only complaint is that there aren’t cashiers at the grocery check out. I can’t stand having to do self check out if I don’t want to. It also bugs me that they don’t accept cash. Other than those 2 service issues- Eataly is a blast!

Some gluten free selections. Pizza and pasta. We took the crust off the pizza and dipped it in the olive oil at the table. Very good. Wine was excellent. Cool place lots of different food items. A must see place. Free to walk around and check it out.

We love this place… You could literally spend a whole day there! They have groceries from fresh produce to seafood to cheese and all kinds of bakery items. They also have a bar, several restaurants, café, pastries, and dessert, bar, and many other things. They have a wine cart on weekends where you can order a glass of wine to drink while you peruse the amazing selection of the store. You could actually get everything you need for a home-cooked meal here.

Tomato Focaccia and pasta were really good. Truly not a alot of protein options on the menu. Apart from the restaurant, they have various markets and item to buys if you love or enjoy Italian cuisine. Will definitely be bringing my partner here for a date next time we go to Chicago.

This review is specifically for the “Vine &” restaurant. For those of you not familiar with Eataly, this place has a number of restaurants, a cafe, and a grocery/gift store. “Vine &” has good pizzas, pasta, and fine wines (** a disclaimer that my opinion on “good” Italian cuisine should be taken with a grain of salt due to my limited exposure). We loved the pizza, the calamari fries w/ zucchini, and the complementary tiramisu (not always offered!). We didn’t quite like the cocktails. Not the best place to expect great cocktails from I guess. Next time we will surely try their wines. My impression is that this place is understaffed, so wait times after you order could be longer than expected. Loved their atmosphere! Visiting again for sure!! PS. Try the Espresso con panna from Lavazza (ground floor). This was great!

  • 5/5 Richard S. 8 months ago on Google
Every Italian ingredient you can think of. Two floors of goods and eats. We had some pizza that wasn't heated up long enough and the staff didn't seem too attentive to the customer. Overall I wasn't too impressed. But if there is a hard to find product, this place should have it.

  • 5/5 Dathan A. G. 1 year ago on Google
A wonderful experience! You're enjoying fantastic food in the middle of a little marketplace. There are 3 floors of too many options! 😂 It's difficult not to order too much! So yummy! Carlo was a great server! 👌 Don't forget the cream puffs downstairs! 🤤 🌟👌

What an epic experience! I wish Orlando had one of these (Eataly gods please hear me!) took a trip to Chitown and had a pleasant time wandering through two floors of amazing products. Fresh meat, seafood, dizzying array of cheeses, epic wine selection and a restaurant that was to die for. I would shop here weekly if I had the opportunity. Great place for grabbing a gift for the foodie in your life. Thanks for making my trip a memorable one. Eataly is everything you want it to be and more.

Definitely, one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Great selection of food and products that fits every dietary restrictions. Plus is pet-friendly! I recommend to try it out during "Restaurant Week" and around October. Their New Year party is amazing.

Such a hidden treasure / gem in the middle of the city and inside the store. We went for a group gathering there. We had One of the best Salmon and chicken. Salmon was almost like butter. So soft and smooth and the chicken felt the same too. Ended with the tiramisu which was great too. Overall excellent experience

Was a variety of foods to try from. Service was extremely slow when we went. Took forever for our drink order and for us to order food. The food came out one by one about 15 mins in between eat. We had to share it family style so one wasn’t just watching while the other one was eating. Service 1/5 Usually don’t rate this but it was just that bad. Burrata and prosciutto 5/5 So good. Melts in your mouth Toast and tomatoes 5/5 Good crunch and flavor. Ravioli 3/5 This was okay to me. My friends enjoyed it tho. Lasagna 5/5 Good portion and lots of meat. Super soft and delicious. Spaghetti cacio e Pepe 2/5 It wasn’t my type of pasta. The noodles were thick and chewy but it prob is just me. Spicy salami pizza 4/5 Very tasty pizza. Little salami pieces. The pizza was small and thin. Sauce was flavorful. Mushroom pizza 4/5 Really good sauce flavor. Pizza was thin also and small.

I love this place, especially for a casual date. The food quality is consistent. An odd comment, but I've dined here several times within the past few years. There are options for vegetarians. If you're hankering for unfussy Italian food, La Pizza & La Pasta is a surefire bet.

Always a great way to spend a couple hours downtown. All of the food and drinks are great plus it’s fun to see the different imports. They also have an impressive wine department. As a local, I’d call it a “must see” when in town.

Awesome place to come explore a slice of Italy in Chicago. Inside you can shop, dine, drink, or snack. We enjoyed a dinner at the restaurant upstairs and finished the night with dessert downstairs. I'd say there's something for everyone here!

  • 4/5 Shadow L. 2 years ago on Google
Very fun atmosphere with what just be authentic Italian cuisine because it's delicious. The only downside is the somewhat cafeteria-like atmosphere. It's like an Italian Food version of Ikea, but in a good way. You'll also spend more than you think on the yummy Italian chocolates, desserts, cheeses, teas, coffees, and other interesting imported fare... Like this apparently supernatural milk!

Lots to see, lots to chose from here. Not enough people around for assistance. Ice cream was great. Wine prices varied well. And the food in this particular side was delicious.

I got a pasta at the pasta and more counter upstairs. The pasta was really small and below average in taste. I paid $19 including tax. Didn’t have enough sauce and the noodles were a bit too hard. The atmosphere of the place however is really nice, although some workers lack customer service skills. Overall a nice place to hang out and grab a dessert and a quick meal but really overpriced.
