My friend’s company paid for this meal and it was upwards of $700 for 3 people (we got a bottle of wine)! For the price of food & drinks, we expected more of the service, the food quality & taste & the atmosphere. We were seated inside near a window facing the river & the view was lovely but it was very warm in there like they needed to turn up the AC. I felt the service was fine but rushed at times & the waiter kept saying “we may be out of this, what’s your second choice?” instead of checking first & letting us know. We got the bacon wrapped scallops for an appetizer & they were good. I got the prime rib and while it was cooked well, it was bland & lacked flavor in most of the steak except a super salty outer piece. My husband got the Kansas City strip & it was undercooked. My friend got the lamb chops & they were good. The creamed spinach (small & blended to the consistency of baby food) & truffle scalloped potatoes weren’t anything special. The dessert we had was also very standard (chocolate layer cake & creme brûlée). I’m glad I did not have to pay for this meal as I did not think the quality or atmosphere was worth the price tag. Also, for a $$$$ restaurant, the restroom was a mess & in complete disarray. Everything was pretty underwhelming except for the guys who kept refilling our waters & the view of the river. We will not be returning. There are tons of other steakhouses around to try.

Chicago Cut is offering a dining experience that effortlessly combines the elegance of a steakhouse with the charm of a waterfront locale. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by impeccable service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The menu at Chicago Cut is a carnivore's dream come true. Each cut is cooked to perfection, allowing the natural flavors to shine through. The attention to detail in the preparation and presentation is evident, making for an indulgent dining experience. Their seafood offerings are equally impressive, with a fresh oyster bar and a variety of fish dishes that cater to all tastes. The sides and appetizers are equally delightful. The extensive wine list at Chicago Cut complements the meal impeccably, and the knowledgeable staff is more than happy to assist with pairing recommendations. Additionally, the stunning view of the Chicago River and the city skyline adds an extra layer of charm to your dining experience, especially during sunset. The quality of the food, service, and overall experience justifies the cost for those looking to indulge in a memorable meal.

One of the few times, I was enjoying the food and friends so much I didn’t get many pictures. The service & food were simply amazing. Almost tried the entire menu, also they are reasonably priced compared to other steakhouses in the area.

Good and expensive. Very nice location. A nice moment where we celebrated the day following the Chicago Marathon 2022. If you are European, don't forget these are american sized dishes...I had hard time with my dessert and enjoyed it later at the hotel. Good tips for the wine by the glass to taste for Californian wines. Just surprised by melted cheese topping my lobster piece. I recommend

Expect the best when visiting Chicago Cut. That’s exactly what my wife and I received. Hector was superior as a server and the food was outstanding! The atmosphere is gorgeous, especially during the holiday season. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had if not the best.

Went for a work dinner 🍽. It was overall good. Our server, Chris, was knowledgeable and friendly; I enjoyed his energy. The outdoor seating and scenery by the lake was peaceful. The lobster mac and cheese wasn't impressive as I expected. The flavor of the brussels sprouts was good but could have been more crisper. The prime rib was buttery as medium and the mashed potato was muted in flavor but whipped well and not gunmy. The chocolate ganache cake was good but wish it was a bit more moist. Overall: Food: 4/5; Scenery: 5/5; Chris: 5/5; Prices based on food flavor: 3.9/5 I wish I could give them a 4.5/5, but since I can't, I'll leave my 5/5.

We enjoyed our time, but not our steak and appetizers! Our rib eye was ordered medium well but it came out burnt and didn’t taste fresh, and also our Bone-In-Fillet was ordered well done but it came out okay. Our server and people there were really respectful, and good vibe but not a good food

This is a high end steakhouse so I expected more from them. We celebrated our anniversary there and we always get the bone-in ribeye steak whenever it's offered. The steak only had flavor on the crusty corners. The creamed spinach wasn't good at all, very bland. The lobster Mac n cheese was ok. The crabcake was good. The service is impeccable! There is always someone at your table and your water glass will never go empty.🤣

Our first time dining here and visiting Chicago too! We chose here for our last dinner before leaving town and were not disappointed. We ordered the following: French onion Lobstercargot Lamb Lollipops Filet bone in FIlet regular 1x side of mashed potatoes 1x side of Brussels 1x tiramisu 1x chocolate cake My boyfriend typically orders a rare steak, and he felt the rare here bordered their description of "black & blue", but was absolutely thrilled. There is no question the meat here is top grade quality, and prepared by chefs who know how to cook it. You will not be disappointed. The sides are perfect portions, they're on the smaller side, perfect to split between two people. I personally don't think the "bone in" filet was worth the hassle of eating, but it was cool to try it once. Lobstercargot was worth the hype it gets in reviews. I didn't love the Brussels (I prefer them crispy and they were more soft), and I would order everything else we got again with no hesitation. The service here is like a well oiled machine. That alone would bring me back to dine here. We can't wait to come back!

It was absolutely the best dining experience I've ever had. I was treated as if I were a celebrity. The staff never missed a beat in their service. Loved the food, and aww, the view was breathtaking.

Really great overall: food, service, ambiance, everything. Not the best steak I’ve ever had in my life, so not 100% sold on the value. They packed the tables pretty tightly, if you want room to spread out definitely reserve a booth.

I love this restaurant. It’s one of my favorite in Chicago and to make it more special it’s by the river walk. The view it’s amazing and for me it’s better at night. The steak ate so good and the staff os wonderful. The have valet parking and I will recommend make a reservation in advance. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worthy. It has outside & inside options for your choice, personally I think people prefer to seat outside specially during summer time. It’s a good choice for a date. Well recommended

This restaurant is so spectacular! The service is over the top, each staff member is very professional and courteous. Our server was Ashley, and she went above and beyond for our group. It felt like they rolled out the red carpet for us! The staff pay attention to every detail of the dining experience. The ambience is amazing. Every part from the lighting, friendly staff, and food made for an unforgettable experience! The staff will individually plate sides and appetizers. The Creme Brûlée & Oreo Mint Pie are must haves as well as the lamp chops and Lobstercargo. The steaks are tender and cooked perfectly. David is a wonderful restaurant owner and deserves recognition for Chicago Cut! This is definitely a go-to for Chicago dining.

This was a fantastic experience. I went to Chicago Cut Steakhouse with a couple of friends in celebration of a birthday on a Friday night. From the start, the ambiance and service were on point. The vibes were what you might expect from an classy steakhouse. City views and even the music were great. Our group made a reservation in advance, and though we were seated a few minutes late, the GM Emidio was gracious enough to give us a little tour and made our experience that much better. He was a lively and charismatic host. Our server and the staff we met were all very helpful and professional. The food was incredible, one of the best steaks I have ever had. Based on the group, the standouts were the Delmonico, and Cajun Ribeye, though I am sure any cut would be fantastic depending on your taste. This was a memorable experience and our group had a very nice night.

The drinks that atmosphere the ambiance everything was great. They handled our party of 17 Raider fans with grace. Lol The steak was delicious from the sides. Could be perfected more mac and cheese. It was below par to my standards. Very dry, not creamy. Tasted kind of bland.

The dining room is CROWDED!! But the patio was open, light and refreshing! Lots of friendly people. Cajun steak was good- just a little greasy🥴. Macaroni and Sautéed Spinach was tasty. Drinks were 🤌🏽! It was the vibe for me!

Chicago Cut is one of my absolute favorite steakhouses! The food is always good and the service is always impeccable. Pictured are the Delmonico steak, the skirt steak with onions, the shucked corn, and the scalloped potatoes. I cannot recommend the scalloped potatoes because there was a huge, thick layer of cheese on top that was difficult to cut through, and even more difficult to chew. But everything else was outstanding!

I went here for my graduation and it was nothing short of amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection. The appetizers excellent as well as the sides, and the desserts finished the meal just as strong. The service was outstanding and menu options were explained in detail by the outstanding waitress Lisa; she made the night memorable along with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Definitely will be attending again on my next visit in the city.

Went for my wedding anniversary and it was amazing! Was willing to splurge and got my own steak. Amazing taste, seasoning and perfectly med-rare. The potatoes were really good as were the Brussel sprouts. Drinks were good too! Tuna tartare was awesome too!

Hello, I was very excited to dine at this restaurant since almost everyone has mentioned to me that it is the best steak house in Chicago. This is based on my opinion only. The service was amazing and we got seated ASAP on a busy night. We got the table we requested. The ambience however is somewhat weird. The restaurant looks elegant but the music does not match the setting (Rock n Roll). The Men's bathroom needs some cleaning up or remodeling. Supplies were all on the floor under the sink and it's a sore to the eye for a classy restaurant. Maybe, I am just being petty after dining to a lot of fine steak houses. The steak was okay. I had the bone-in-ribeye and my wife had the filet surf n turf. The best part of the meal was the desert. Make sure to order the peanut butter pie. Thank you.

Our waitress was wonderful girl. The dry aging steak was amazing, the crab cake was yum, the wine was great and the chocolate cake was unbelievable plus the River view….and the most important is they are not pricing at all if you compare with the other Michelin restaurants. Nice place to dine on patio area as well. Highly recommended if you are in downtown Chicago!

Pretty decent place for a business lunch. The appetizers were pretty good - I particularly liked the bacon-wrapped scallop. The pea soup was nice but might be too spicy for some people. The crab cake was also not too bad. Overall good experiences.

Absolutely some of the best food I've ever had in my life. The service is top notch, and Andrew our waiter, was so impressive and on top of things as busy as they were. I had the bone in filet au poivre with shared Brussel sprouts and truffle parmesean fries, and mint oreo pie for dessert. They have a small selection of bourbons but all very good. I had one of the best old fashioned I've ever had while dining here, and their barrel pick of Weller Antique 107 is phenomenal. Yes it's pricey, but worth every penny.

  • 5/5 Steve K. 1 year ago on Google
Simply put, probably the best steak I’ve ever had! We had outstanding service and the sides were quite tasty. Two caveats: don’t go here if your looking for a modestly priced meal and the place is a little small and can’t get crowded and loud. I’d 100% go back!

We went here for an early lunch and even though this is Chicago's oldest steakhouse, we ordered everything but steak. It was just way to early for meat for us. So, let me start by saying that the reason we chose to skip breakfast and come here at 11:30 in the morning, was because of the reviews I read about the lobster escargot, so of course, it was the first thing I ordered. Andddd....tender pieces of lobster poached in a garlicky butter topped with perfectly browned cheese and placed on small round toast were decadent and absolutely amazing!!! The lobster salad was sooo fresh and the dressing citrusy, light and delicious. The halibut was crisp on the outside, sweet and flaky on the inside. My husband and I shared every dish (which the waiter happily spit perfectly into 2 dishes each) and enjoyed every single bite!!! Thank you CUT Steakhouse for making our last meal in Chicago sooo perfect. We will definitely be back and next time, maybe, we will even try the steak!! :)

Amazing setting and location by the river. Now to top it with amazing drinks and food. Had the mezcal drink , bacon scallops, lobster escargot, Cajun ribeye, bone in filet and all was excellent. The service is superb. Staff is very attentive. The experience comes with a steep price tag but totally worth it. You won't regret it! The view alone is probably worth it 😉

Such an amazing way to be welcomed to Chicago! Amazing food & experience! We had amazing appetizers, the sea bass & a filet with our group. I ordered the chicken parmigiana & it was huge! Enough for several people & it was so delicious! Better than anything I had in Italy! Totally worth every penny!

Omg the lobster carbot appetizer was rhe best thing I've ever put in my mouth. The steak ribeye was absolutely awesome the Alaskan halibut the wife had also insanely amazing. I'd give 100 stars if possible. Hands down amazing.

This is a beautiful restaurant... The owner came to our table and expressed appreciation for the military as he thanked our newly graduated naval sailor for her service... The Food was amazing... our server Chris was knowledgeable and attentive... A totally impressive experience... I will definitely recommend to all and revisit... 1
