Astounding!!! Beautiful!! Thankful for this gift! My first concert was Ron Carter at the Jazz festival. I moved around from front to side to back and then way back. The best acoustica are probably midway but you get the stunning cityscape along with the music at least halfway. Bottom line ther isn't a bad spot in the whole pavilion to hear and see. Hands downy favorite venue in the world! Just moved here from Atlanta. The ease of entering and exiting are effortless. The bathrooms are pristine and there is never a line. And, you can walk to this venue but they also have subterranean parking. It just can't get any better than here!

This is the excellent outdoor amphitheater located in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago. This hosts many music festivals and performing art events and has capacity of 11000. This also hosts physical fitness activities like Yoga. The pavilion has large seating area in addition to the great lawn. The sound system is with an acoustic design that replicates the indoor concert hall sound experience. This is considered as showstopper of the Millennium Park. The stainless steel structure of the pavilion is very unique. The best part is that people can watch array of free cultural performances. When we went there some maintenance work was going on but even the empty amphitheater also looked very cool.

Gorgeous but absolutely empty, when we visited it at Sunday morning. It should be using every days hour place to share some nice music for people… There are so many talents just waiting for it…

First time here. Drove in from 100 miles out, parked under the venue, was well organized and very professional staff throughout. Would go again in a minute!

We did the Dream Chicago Event here. The place was perfect for this type of huge event. Beautiful skyline view of Chicago. The theater was artistic and just perfect. Wide space, clean, restroom was clean too.

By far on of the most beautiful experience ever. I took my wife as a surprise to have a picnic and was nothing short of spectacular ---- WARNING ---- DON'T BE A JERK AND SET UP CHAIRS & TABLE(S) IN FRONT OF PEOPLE SITTING ON A BLANKET BLOCKING THEIR VIEW THAT WERE THERE BEFORE YOU!!! HAVE SOME MANNERS AND RESPECT!!!!. SERIOUSLY!!!! Back to my positive review ●You may arrive 90 min early to set up ●You can take your own booze ● Picnic baskets welcomed ● Outside Food is allowed ● Programs are given out ● Parking in garage less than 7 min walking β–  Have the courtesy to not step or pull cart over on anyone's blanket. Be respectful β–  Please watch your kids, this is an event where people want to unwind and listen to music. If you have kids that will run around (as expected) have the mindfulness to sit towards the rear. I have kids too but I know there's a time and a place for everything. They have summer programs in which you can search online and see what is available of music and date. I highly recommend you experience it for yourself. You won't regret it!!

Amazing venue, staff is helpful and knowledgeable. During events, concessions are open and drink are decently priced with beer and wine options as well as snacks. Enough seats and great view from lawn as well, as they have the big screen in the back with incredible camerawork. Highly recommend going to a show here!

Check for the events ahead of your visit. We visited in the 2nd week of July and there was free grant festival music event on Saturday 7pm. So we planned millennium park and grant festival music event on Saturday evening. There are chairs but you can bring your own chairs, blankets , buy some drinks and food and sit in the grass and have a wonderful musical evening/night.

What an absolutely wonderful venue. Chicago is lucky to have such a location. Bags were check upon entry but drinks, coolers, and chairs were allowed. Large screen in the back made viewing easier. There was a permanent and open seating area. Sounds system was great and dancing was encouraged.

I recently attended a FREE event here and I was blown away by how cool the place looks!. Huge grass area, perfect for setting up a picnic, as well as sitting area in front of the stage. This place is located literally behind The Bean or β€œCloud Gate”. My fist experience overall was amazing! 10/10. Looking forward to attend more events here.

One of the best open-space amphitheater to host the Jazz Festival, a part of the Millennium Park that no one should miss. A very welcoming environment with audience from all walks of life. You are welcome to sit close to the stage to get an upclose look, although everything can be viewed from the big screen. You can have your picnic anywhere in the big green dot facing the screen. A great event location for a family activity and enjoy the jazz during the late afternoon-evening event. A good memory of Chicago that brings me back time and again.

After being in architecture school I became a Frank Gehry fan. Not only was it because of his stance on architecture, but because the buildings he designs are just so unique. The Pritzker pavilion is one of the buildings that's always caught my eyes when I saw it in the architecture textbooks. Seeing it in person, both during the day and at night, I was blown away by how captivating it is. I will definitely be back hopefully to see this thing being used the way it was designed. However, all in all, it's a beautiful design that is definitely a must see in Chicago.

Great outdoor space. Mondays feature various music artists and we luckily saw Angel Melendez and the 911 Mambo Orchestra. The music did not disappoint. Mambo, salsa, marenge, chacha and more to get up and dance. Bring your folding chairs and blankets if you prefer to picnic. Head out early and park at either of the Millennium Park garages close by. Highly recommend this for a date or family night out.

Attended a Son Palenque and Yemi Alade concert here in July 2023 which was a part of the free summer events offered by the city. Great venue. Great crowd. Amazing entertainment.

Beautiful outdoor concert venue! We've seen a band play here before and it was wonderful. Lots of real seats as well as lawn seating too. Didn't see a band playing this time I was in Chicago, but it was still beautiful to walk through even with no band playing!

We happened upon the posted advert for the Grant Park Music Festival as we walked through Millennium Park from the Navy Pier, and decided to come back the next evening (6:30 pm start time) for the concert. Great experience, and the event was free to the public.

Amazing location, free music entertainment throughout the summer months..an absolute must in Chicago if and when you're in town. The vibe and skyline are both second to none

Awesome outdoor concert venue in Millenium Park. Best place to be in Chicago during the summer. Grant Park Music Festival, Jazz, Blues, Gospel Festival among standard opportunities. Check out DCASE for schedules.

The venue is amazing, but it should be renamed to fit such regalia. The current governor whom it is named after will likely end up in prison, and Chicago doesn't need more of this type of reputation. Absolutely stunning free concert in the park though. πŸ™Œ

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra held a free event here which was absolutely lovely. Riccardo Muti was the conductor and they all did a great job. The pieces performed were beautiful. The location has a lovely architectural structure. There are bathrooms here as well one can use.

The "Petrillo Bandshell North" is a nice venue. It would still be a world class venue if the city didn't take a "good enough" maintenance, upgrade, and programming approach to managing it. It was designed and built to be the crown jewel of Grant Park and cultural book end to the museum campus. Because of the high crime in the city, the CSO concert was bludgeonly enhanced by police sirens multiple times...glad it was free. Fortunately I was able to witness the CSO and Multi demonstrate their artistry there. The interpretation and music played, filled the space with beauty. For that I am grateful. If a favored world class performance in the genre is presented there, this is the place to be. Otherwise if you have not been to the Art Institute, the museum campus, or maybe Subway down the street... time may be better spent there.

If you’re visiting Chicago in the summer - definitely find a concert and come here! Grab food and drinks and enjoy a concert in the city. If you’re from Chicago - please stop setting up your lawn chairs in front of people who were there before you. Sit on the grass like everyone else!

Perfect setting with perfectly orchestrated sound. Stage is always set up for excellent views including video display for enhanced up close effects. Typically ample seating in bowl area and lawn seating is a great alternative. Unfortunately, with COVID services are below par. Plan accordingly bringing personal accrutriments, ie, small cooler with snacks.

Besides the Cloud Gate and Crown Fountain, the Pavilion is another must-see when visitors come to the Millenium Park! The lawn is well maintained. There were many different free music festivals during summer time, and people bring their picnic blanket to the lawn to enjoy the show. Highly recommended!

Such a fun place to watch the shows for FREE. Yes, Chicago does an excellent job of making something like this for their city. The park is safe. The sound is great as you can hear very clearly without it being too loud. The bathrooms down below are easy to get to and lots of them. You can bring your own alcohol which is a nice perk. We always enjoy our visits here.

Spotted the open stadium whilst strolling through Millenium Park and instantly thought it would make for an enjoyable concert experience. The following day we were lucky enough to spot an orchestra performing a number of John Williams movie scores. Amazing experience

Love the summer program and concerts. Acoustics are great and tickets are affordable. Always go through the entries designated for the concerts so you avoid the long check up lines. They have a system so respect it, it works.

Really cool looking architecture. We went during the day when it was closed off, but there were wedding pictures and yoga classes around the area. Just really a cool idea for the space when it is being used!
