This is a masterwork on an enormous scale by 20th century artist Marc Chagall. His images โ€” dreamlike scenes evoking dreams and memories of his childhood in a Russian fishing village, with boldly-colored figures of every scale floating around and among one another. Itโ€™s one of Chicagoโ€™s most important works of public art, and it is bookended by Chagallโ€™s magnificent blue stained glass windows in the Art Institute. Itโ€™s in downtown, itโ€™s right out by the street, itโ€™s covered, and itโ€™s free. Love love love.

One of Chicago's most stunning Public art at the Plaza at the intersection of Dearborn and Monroe. This art is covered , and it's free. This is a masterwork by 20th century artist Marc Chagall. Chagall is renowned for his vividly colourful stain glass windows and paintings but here is a majestic mosaic by him for you to cherish. Chagall's images โ€” dreamlike scenes evoking dreams and memories of his childhood in a Russian fishing village, with boldly-colored figures of every scale floating around and among one another. Even the famous painter Pablo Picasso praised Chagall for the sense of amazing colours Chagall had. This art is a must visit if you are in Chicago downtown.

If youโ€™re a fan of Chagall you donโ€™t want to miss this. The Four Seasons is a four-sided mosaic that showcases a lot of things Chagall is famous for. Thereโ€™s not too much going on in the immediate surround area, but itโ€™s worth a detour to see this beautiful work of art with your own eyes.

Amazing ceramic in the middle of town, showing the four seasons. Today is a beautiful day in Chicago and not crowed at all for a long weekend

This is pretty decoration of the city at the Chase Bank Plaza in South Loop area of Chicag, a part of the city beautification. By itself the mosaic art is refreshing. It's a small area where you can take a short rest break while walking about town. If walking at night, next to it is a pretty decorative lighting on the floor. What I found interesting here was that the city youth were practising acrobatics on skate boards here.

It's a shame that there is work ahead, a grandiose work by Chagall. It is also a shame that it is not indicated that it exists, you can pass very close without knowing that it is there.

Stunning public art in the plaza at the intersection of Dearborn and Monroe. Plenty of places to sit near the sculpture to reflect on Chagall's amazing and inspiring work. I've loved Chagall's stained glass windows, as well as his paintings. I didn't know he had done mosaics too! We just came across this sculpture when walking from the Goodman to the Metra station.

Awesome public space. Great display of Chagall's symbolism and surreal floating characters. The place is open, free and very enjoyable.

Always astounding the masterpieces that are on display for everyone to see on the streets of Chicago. I could spend hours studying the detail and the big picture on this 4 sided mosaic mural.

Chagall is one of my favourite artists so to find a public work, at this scale, by him in the middle of downtown Chicago was an absolute treat! A massive 4 side block mosaic which more people should see!
