I’ve lived in the city for a while but I’ve never visited this place until today. A couple friends and I planned to catch the sunrise, and we were not disappointed. We got beautiful unobstructed views of the lake with a sunrise mirage.

My favorite spot for morning swims in Lake front Chicago. Very clean water and easy point of ingress. And the buoys installed by the parks dept. keeps the motorboats away.

One of the best places to spend an evening with your friends and family. Place where you can spend your time with or without someone. Awesome place for photography and shooting. The usual weekend atmosphere is very joyful. I enjoyed the place on the weekend and would love to come every weekend to a stress-free environment.

this seemed to me like a little bit of a hidden gem. the view of downtown chicago was awesome even though it was a bit far. the park here is great and there seemed to be so many people enjoying it. it's a real quiet spot and even though it was full of people we barely could tell by noise level. if you're in the area down here there isn't much else to see, so why not stop by and enjoy the view.

One of the best places next to Hyde park. Has the best views of Chicago downtown. The Promontory point is the perfect place for a picnic, with a nice beach close by. Place to grill or have a fire going and nice park.

Nice place to catch a sunrise, a sunset or even just to spend some time with loved ones. This is one of my go to places over the years just to get some peace and quiet. Parking isn’t always easy but it’s worth the trouble. I haven’t ever used the bathrooms here so I can’t speak on it. But, they do have places for a bond fire.

I love love love this place!!! This is where my wife and I got engaged. It is beautiful at night. The skyline is amazing!! I’d say the best view of the skyline In Chicago other than by boat. It is just a nice park to take a short walk. Not many features other than the view, but the view is well worth worth it!!

Love it! Awesome lake view! Walking and bike trails are amazing! Beautiful view of downtown! I visited my daughter, and it was on her things for us to do, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Take care of this treasure, Chicago!

Relaxing park. Generally crowded on the weekend but it has a great view of the city. There is water access if you climb down the limestone rocks. They have bathrooms available as well

The Point is of the most beautiful places in Chicago. It’s stunning in all seasons. My dog loves to roll around in the grass.

Quiet, green, well maintained, great views of the city skyline and the public bathrooms were open, bonus. Great place to relax, sunbathe, take a nap, or take pictures. Public parking (pay) is available on the other side of Lake Shore Drive.

The water here is so clear and blue. Many people swimming in the lake, sailboats on the horizon. Beautiful view of the city in the distance

A great way to stay in shape & get out of the house. The Park district cleared the sidewalks and people were friendly AND wearing masks...for the most part. Highly recommend!

Great spot to chill by the shore and avoid the crowds downtown. Not that’s it’s not busy here, just usually less. Close to bike and walking trails which is super nice.

Promontory Point in fall. Short walk from ample free on street parking or paid parking lot on the west side of DuSable LSD. Convenient underpass. There are fire pits near the lake. Nice.

Much liked sea shore in chicago by me and my family. As it is not over crowded. Away from downtown so you can find peaceful and serene voice of sea if you walk a lit bit more on the shore though this time it wasn't the same as we went on full moon day. Would like to go there again.

Extremely beautiful and relaxing! This place always puts me in a good mood to just walk the lakefront trail/sit in front of the water and just enjoy the sounds of the water splashing against the rocks

Beautiful space for a run🏃🏾 , picnic 🧺 , or bonfire. Complete with views of the skyline 🏙 and shade in the summer time. It’s less than 100 yards from the beach 🏝 but the stone fire 🔥 pits are my favorite part.

I had a blast here. This is where my high school planted the Seniors their prom of 2021. I will always cherish my memories of my friends, classmates, teachers, and all. To me, their family, I love Back of the Yards. If anyone else wants to have a celebration, partake in a special event, or have a quality, quiet time with your loved ones, this is the place to have all of those things.

Beautiful place all year around! In the summer it is great for less busy lake side local hangs and climbing over the rocks to take a dip in the calm, clear water. In the less warm months, it is a beautiful place to take a stroll around the park or you can walk along the rocks for those a little more adventurous. I took my puppy and she loved! Be careful in the colder months as the rocks can get a little icy and become slippy - we almost lost someone to the cold lake this December!

One of the breathtaking vantage points to see Chicago's skyline from. A peaceful park that's a melting pot of Chicago's people.

A fantastic place to enjoy beautiful scenery of the Lake Michigan and the Loop skyline! Not too large for walking, running and cycling, so everyone can enjoy the Promontory Point. Looking at the giant lake makes me feel so calm and relaxed. Enter from the east end of 55th and there is a path crossing Lake Shore Drive underneath.
