👍👍 Angel was an awesome GM! My partner surprised me with he Christmas room for my birthday, and it was a lot of fun. I especially loved that it wasn't just a bunch of codes and keys, but had more fun interactive elements. We're definitely coming back to do the other two rooms. “Escape the 90s” was one of the best escape rooms I’ve ever been to! I was impressed by the creative approach to the stage and clues appealing to nostalgia with all the 90s items & technology we grew up with. I was also very happy with the customer service and personalized attention — it was our birthday week, so even more special. I’d give them 10 stars if I could :)

The former price reflected the quality of the rooms - still fun but more homemade feel. The new $50 flat booking fee is quite the jump in price, now the price is similar to that in River north for extremely high quality rooms.

Great experience for my first escape room. The puzzles were engaging and the GM in charge made sure my group had a great time! Totally recommend!

Did the “Left at Home” room and it was a lot of fun! Jason was our game master and he was funny to work with and helpful throughout when we needed it. For the price in Chicago, it’s a great place to go especially if you want a private room with only a few people. The room itself was a bit dated and used some lower quality props than some other rooms I’ve been to, but again, for the price, you can’t beat it AND the game overall had some very fun and unique challenges built into it. Going to have to check out the 90’s room next, Jason let us take a peek and it was super cool looking!

The 90s escape room is INCREDIBLE! I’ve been to numerous escape room locations in Chicago & this one was the BEST. I thought I had a good time at the others, but this theme and its execution was next-level and put the others to shame. The level of detail had our group reeling. There were NUMEROUS puzzles to get through but it wasn’t aggravating. I don’t want to spoil the best parts so you’ll just have to check it out yourself. The price is exactly comparable to other places. Parking was easy. Our game master, I think her name was Katie, was genuine/warm & engaging. Our faces hurt afterward from smiling so much. We escaped with 15 mins to spare and didn’t need any clues; again, the room is challenging but do-able with good ol’ teamwork. We absolutely intend on going back to do the other rooms!

SO MUCH FUN!!!! I came in twice in the last month. That’s how much we loved it. We did Lab of the Lost and then Escape the 90’s. Very well done. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I found Lab of the Lost a little easier than the 90’s room. But both were very well done and I love the attention to detail in both.

Lab of the Lost was great fun! Our team of two completed the room with just 4 minutes remaining! The room was divided into multiple stages, with new areas to discover along the way, which kept things moving and interesting. They also had a good variety of puzzles, not always just find the combination, unlock the lock, repeat. Light climbing/crawling required, so be aware of that. Highly recommend, especially for the price per person compared to some other rooms in the city.

The Dino lab room was PERFECT for a cute date night. I’ve walked by this place for years and was so curious. Would definitely recommend!

We did the Left at Home themed room. It was really a blast and lots of clever puzzles that rolled together nicely. We'll for sure be back for the other rooms. Thanks to Mars as well for being an excellent guide.

Excellent time at Quandary Escape Rooms. Our family did the Left Alone room. It was a lot of fun and the kids (8 & 12) were able to participate and enjoy the quest as well.

My girlfriend and I did the "Left at Home" room, her first, my 10+ escape room. Completed with 28 seconds left. Katie was a great host! Price was a little high for two people but still worth it.

One of my favorite escape room experiences. We did the 90s room and we loved it so much we booked another room before we left. The rooms are fun and atmospheric. Great attention to detail and fun, challenging puzzles. Can’t recommend highly enough!

I went with 4 friends here and did the "Lab of the Lost" room. I had a great time and would definitely recommend the room to anyone. The theme was really fun and well executed. Keeping in mind that this is an independent escape room company and is therefore "ballin' on a budget" as they say, I was impressed with the theming and construction. There are certainly areas you can notice the monetary constraints, but frankly the creativity on display here blew me away. The puzzles were challenging but fair for the most part. We did have one puzzle that wasn't reset properly, but fortunately it didn't hurt the game that much. Our game master, Angel, was super chill and friendly! I hope to go back and do "Escape the '90s" later this summer.

We just did their Escape the 90's room. Super well themed. Really needs some teamwork to acomplish. Has a lot of little puzzles that play well together, and mostly in parallel so you dont get stuck too bad. Definitely recommend!

Had a day off from school with the 6th graders! It was a fun room and our host was cool, good with the kids too.

My husband and I are escape room enthusiasts, and this one genuinely stood out to us! Love the clever details and planning that went into the puzzles for the 90s room. The nostalgia was awesome. Everything down to the music and the story were super immersive and took me right back to those years! ☺️

We visited the '90s themed room. It was fun and challenging. However one of the problems we needed to solve seems like we did solve, yet it seems there was a problem with the drawer not opening (we thought we still needed to do more to get it to open). We only realized that after we ran out of time, and the worker went in and even he couldn't get the drawer to open by doing what we had done already. Who knows how much more we could have advanced or even solved the whole thing. Update: Owner reached out and rectified the situation. All is good by me. Hope to check out other rooms there in the future.

I did the 90s-themed escape room recently and while it could have been fun, we had numerous issues occur that collectively made for a much-less-than-enjoyable experience. Firstly, the worker who led us to the room said he would let us know when our time starts but after 15 minutes, there was no indication our time started. We had to leave the room to ask the worker if there was any reason our time had not started; he stated it was supposed to be on the computer screen but it had malfunctioned and did not display our time or notify us when our time started until he fixed it. I falsely assumed that we would start our 60 minutes over but we never got our 15 minutes added back to our time to complete the puzzle. Starting our time over seemed like a very simple remedy to the issue, especially as it was the last time slot so there were no groups doing the escape room after us. Secondly, as we were working on the puzzles, we wanted to ask for a clue but the AIM through which you communicate with the worker was not set up properly so we (again) had to exit the escape room to ask the worker to come in to fix it (losing another few minutes of our already shortened time). Thirdly, there was a malfunction with one of the lockboxes where we had the correct code but it would not open (both of us tried it multiple times throughout the already-shortened-time we had to complete it). Overall, there were multiple issues with the escape room but what was the most frustrating was how apathetic the worker was to our qualms. We brought up the issue with lockbox and he stated very apathetically that "sometimes the lockboxes can be finicky." There was no apology for the lockbox issue, the communication through the computer not working initially, and the lack of notification that our time began. So, we essentially paid $100 to have 15 minutes-less time to complete the escape room, a malfunctioning computer system, and a malfunctioning lockbox without any apology for any of these issues. What could have been a fun time turned into a waste of our time and money.

My friends and I rented out all three escape rooms at the Quandary. We had so much fun. I was in the 90s teen bedroom and had a blast. My group ran out of time before we could escape, but we got close. The rooms are decorated well, and the staff was super friendly. I highly recommend trying these escape rooms.

The production value, the clues, and the story of "escape the 90s" and "left at home" were really great and very cohesive. When I'm able, my boyfriend and I will definitely be back for the dinosaur themed room! The staff is awesome, too! We really like this place, and were able to escape both rooms with only 2 people. If you're contemplating which escape room to go to in Chicago, definitely go with the Quandary. Believe me, I'm a bit snobby when it comes to escape rooms and I have very high standards.
