Food was out of this world! I hesitated a little while picking the popular spicy jerk chicken entree, but then I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the meat and the overall taste of the meal. Loved the salsa and plantains to go along with the meat's flavor. Portion was quite the size too. Beer on tap was better than in some breweries and the dessert options were also delicious. Definitely and highly recommend.

Food was good! It was 95 degrees outside, so we ate inside. But there was next to no air ventilation or circulation going, which made for an uncomfortable meal. It also made for an odd smell. My recommendation to the restaurant owners is to run the AC more often, and to make sure the place smells clean (it smelled like dirty dishwater). The glasses and silverware were clean, and the food really was good, but the ambiance can throw anyone off. Just a tip!

The place was amazing. Food delicious. I am not sure what they were putting in their sauces, but I wanted to eat them with the spoon. We ordered Pollo Jamaiquino and it was finger licking good. El Jibarito Sandwich with beef had a great texture, but tasted rather plain. Definitely recommend and we will be coming back.

Delicious food. Very attentive staff. It got way busier after 5pm. The Sandwich was huge, and my Trifongo with beef was great. We also had the stuff tostones (avocado and ropa Vieja) as appetizers, awesome. Angel and Beatriz are wonderful people. Can't forget the chips, much better than corn chips. I had the coconut flan, and the girls had the 3 flavor cheesecake 😋. We will be back.

I had a great experience at this restaurant! The food was fantastic, huge portions, & good service. I will be back when I visit my hometown again. I had the Rasta Pasta chicken & Shrimp. Others ordered kan kan and jerk chicken. All was good along with the chips & green sauce is a hit!

The pollo jamaniquo is exquisite. While visiting Highwood, I remembered the Caribbean restaurant, El Buren. I ordered Jamaican Chicken dish and it exceeded expectations. The chicken was cooked well but remained juicy, with a light char on the outside. Served on top was a mango salsa. The acidity of the salsa paired perfectly with the black beans and rice to cut against the fattiness of the chicken. I strongly recommend this dish and this restaurant.

I really wanted to give this place a chance but the food was not consistent. Friendly service and great atmosphere but the food was just ok. I hope the chef can maintain the quality of each dish. We ordered the same dish last time we were here but the taste was slightly different this time.

First time here. It was highly recommended by a co-worker. We was not disappointed!! We had jerk chicken sandwich with plantain chips and Cubano sandwich with fries. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The FRIES OMG they were amazing. We were told the fires were made from scratch. Definitely we will come back again and try different dishes.
