Love this classic restaurant. Our server, TIM was amazing and really made our extended lunch special. We are new to Chicago. Just moved here and Tim was a world of Chicago information. Everything about this location is fabulous! Food is amazing. Staff is exceptional!

First time back in well over a decade and they have not missed a beat. Still one of the absolute best steak houses in the country. Spent nearly two hours under the expert and perfect attention of Michelle C. The food was excellent. The desserts were excellent. The service was excellent. The price was reasonable for a high end steak house. Extremely highly recommended. A must do if you are in Chicago. When we go back, and we will, Michelle is going to be a must-have. Can't rave about her enough.

It was a lovely place. The host was very nice and even got me a vegetarian menu, which I never knew they had. He was friendly and we had a great time. I had the veggie tacos and the others had quite a list I can't recall, but they loved every bit. No food went to waste. We ended with a Havana and key lime pie. In my opinion I really liked the key like pie. Not too sweet but had a taste of tartness of lime to it.

I almost dont want to leave good a review, because it was already packed when we got there and hard to get a reservation LOL. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I had the grilled seafood platter, along with Oyster Rockefeller, calamari and stuffed mushrooms for appetizers. Hubby had seafood pasta. Quality of the seafood was A1. My only critique was that the grilled seafood platter came out luke warm

We have now eaten at all three Joe's locations in the US, which consists of Las Vegas, Chicago, and Washington DC. (The original Joe's in Miami is not part of this ownership group) While DC is our favorite location, we had a wonderful experience at the Chicago Joe's. The stone crabs were amazing as usual, and the service was outstanding. This location, like the others we visited, was packed. We highly recommend this establishment!

I want to give an extreme thank you to Tito the security staff member, and Chris for seating us. They really looked out for us, something that stood out from other restaurants. To talk about the food, the spinach filled Mushrooms were my favorite, and excellent. The cheese and spinach compliments the mushroom in a warm olive oil coating. The crab bisque was creamy fulfilling and very delicious. The breads were certainly unique as well. The Chilean sea bass was tender and flaky, had some Japenese flavor tones, and was savory and slightly sweet, which I wasn't expecting, which made it slightly better than average. I wasn't a fan of the cold crab meat, but it is definitely an experience. I also ordered the crab cakes, crab stuffed shrimp which wasn't bad, but I'd try other things next time. Wasn't a fan of the key lime pie, but the espressos were very good. I look forward to reordering everything I really enjoyed, and trying new things. Excellent service and decor. Come well dressed

mmmmmmmm - what to say about this restaurant? Simply, it is the best restaurant in Chicago. The food and service are fantastic - it is a 5-star restaurant that you should try it - I strongly recommed. A second visit after two weeks - If I may add another comment: this is not the best restaurant in Chicago - this is the BEST in IL, and I can say that this is one of the top 20 restaurants in USA. This is really a 5 star restaurant in food and service. If you visit Chicago, you must try it.

I’m doing a review for takeout. Prices are exorbitant for this type of food. Everything was packaged beautifully. We ordered the large stone crab, Joe’s fried chicken, 4 cheese mac and cheese, sautéed broccolini, and key lime pie. The stone crab was easy to pull the meat out and it was quite tasty. For the price I was hoping for larger pieces for the “large.” ⅘.! Joe’s fried chicken was very good. Chicken was moist and meat inside was flavorful. 5/5. 4 cheese mac and cheese was 5/5. Hard to mess up mac and cheese. Huge portion and cheeses were blended well. Sauteed broccolini was okay. Just tasted like regular broccolini. ⅗. Key lime pie was tart but the right amount. Great way to end the meal. 5/5.

Stunning Chicago hospitality in its classic warm environment. Service was spot on informative kind and attentive. Our steak was flawless. Crab linguine is something I will dream of and the steak tartare and octopus were fantastic. While the dining room was insanely busy the staff were all cool and calm and service flowed flawlessly. This place runs like a machine. It was very fun to watch and created a great experience for us. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

This steak was GREAT! I've been to steak houses in Chicago, and this was the absolute best. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Our server was the best. She was professional and very courteous. This was a birthday gift for my wife and the fact that she finished her steak, told me that she loved it (she's not a steak eater). I would go there again in a heartbeat! Try it if you're in Chicago!!!

classic vibe and tasty steak. The stone crab claws are from Florida, literally. Cheesecake is also top. I also recommend the cottage fries, crispy outside while chewy inside

Awesome food, great service. Highly recommend the steak, crab cake (they use no fillers), and the seafood salad - you'll be amazed at the portion. It's not cheap but given the amount of seafood, it's worth the price. Love their bread basket! Rumors have it that they have the best fried chicken in town, even better than Gus's. I tried it during COVID for delivery and it's seasoned well. Didn't get a chance to try it this time. Stone crab claws are at market price. Reservations aren't required but recommended. It's easy to be seated during weekday and weekend lunch time.

Incredible experience all around. Our server, Chris S., is a truly phenomenal person. Everyone who works there is very nice - greeting on the way in & saying goodnight on the way out. Food was delicious & I can't recommend the key lime pie enough. Definitely check Joe's out. So much history, comfort, and joy.

We had a great time at their M-F 2-4pm happy hour with half off appetizers and select drinks. It is worth noting that their happy hour is ONLY when you sit in the front lounge/bar area. However, we were more comfortable in the lounge as with casual conversation and an easy going vibe all around. The staff was very friendly and our server Dana and as well Manny were both so accommodating and helpful. They made us feel right at home. Now for the food and drinks - the oysters were 👌 perfect (even to my partner who said he doesn't really do oysters!), the crab and shrimp came with a side of warm butter, and the array of breads was flavorful and was just enough for two in my opinion. We got to choose between West or East coast oysters, so that was nice. The mignonette sauce with horseradish and other toppings was the game changer for my partner. The drinks were very aesthetically pleasing and very tasty too with a good variety. Over all - I say go! This would be a good place to take a date or just to meet up for lunch/drinks. We left feeling full, but not overly so. We'll definitely be back.

This is the classiest Lettuce Entertain You restaurant I've ever been to. The staff is amazingly friendly, the service was impeccable, and the food was incredible. Starters - Bread Basket. The bread basket was beautifully arranged with a variety of delicious baked goods. I could smell the onion rolls as soon as they hit the table. The raisin toast was thin and crispy. The pretzel roll was lightly bathed in salt. And the egg bread was soft and fluffy. I'm not gonna lie, I asked for bread to go. Drink - Pothole City Rocky Road Stout from Pipeworks Brewing Company. It has the aroma of marshmallows and nuts. The taste contains a sweetness that tickles the taste buds for a moment before disappearing into the background of a very interesting stout. There are hints of things I can't identify, but that I can tell you, I love it. Side Dish : Cole Slaw - I've never seen anything like it. Coleslaw, pickle relish, vinegar, tomatoes, and mayonnaise brought to the table piled high but deconstructed. It was cut and mixed in front of me by a skilled server. He added fresh cracked black pepper for me. It was sweeter than I thought it would be. I am now a fan of Cole Slaw made and served like this. Entree - Seafood Platter. The scallops were lightly seared and tender. The shrimp had a mild flavor that paired beautifully with the melted butter and fresh lemon juice that accompanied it. But the lobster, it was like butter. Sweet, succulent, and tender. I didn't have room for it, but I got a half slice of Key Lime Pie. I can't wait to try it. I will definitely be coming back here as soon as I can. I foresee some Joe's steaks and Crab cakes in my near future.

It is a seafood restaurant, but I was craving steak and this restaurant did not disappoint. Amazing meat, great service, very sophisticated atmosphere. We have a nice 5 year anniversary celebration, and Joe’s did not disappoint . Highly recommend.

This one of the very best ‘Chicago Experiences’ one can have. Classy ambience, dishes made to perfection and friendly and impeccable service. Highly recommend Crab Bisque, King Crab Louis, Beef Wellington and for dessert a slice of Key Lime Pie. Life at its best if you spent time here with your loved ones.

I 100% recommend checking Joe’s out! The food and atmosphere was 10/10. The service was also amazing. By far the best calamari I have ever had. It was delicate and perfectly fried. The stuffed mushrooms were to die for! Honestly, everything was absolutely perfect. If you’re in Chicago, I recommend making reservations and going here!

This place was on my list of the best restaurants in Chicago that I wanted to visit, as the reviews on Google and Yelp were impressive, and I expected to have the best restaurant experience. Let's talk about it in detail. Arrival: We arrived at the time of our reservation (Thu 8.15pm). It's stated that the grace period is 15 minutes or you lose your table. Our wait time was more than that!!! At least we got a nice corner table. Atmosphere: excellent vibe inside the place, very classy, good-looking people, welcoming and well-dressed staff. Food: The menu looks impressive. The seafood is definitely a star of the restaurant, and I highly recommend ordering the Whale (the seafood tower) and Belle Du Jour oysters. The stone crab that we had previously was exceptional. The Chillean sea bass with miso glaze was creamy, full of flavor, and super tender. Bone-in ribeye signature prime steak was cooked to order but lacked flavor. It's not melt in your mouth tender as stated in the menu. It was just okay. Sides: The fried asparagus was delicious, but Jennie's mashed potatoes were very dry and came room temperature. Service: We got Denise as our server. She seemed to be in quite a rush to get our table served and go home. We were there for a birthday, but she never asked if there was any special occasion. She knew the menu but spoke extremely fast, so it was difficult to understand her description of the food, and we felt very rushed to order. At the same time, she never asked about food allergies. We expected to have relaxed dinner, but as mentioned before, we felt very rushed. After the bill was paid, she had her back to us, and no thank you or goodbye when we headed out. Verdict: highly recommended the seafood. The server definitely lacked professionalism expected for this caliber restaurant.

Bought take-out from Joe’s seafood. The package and food quality were pretty good. We ordered crab cake, Rockefeller oyster, salad and cheeseburger. The salad with crab meat was very fresh and delicious. The Rockefeller oyster was a bit too creamy and salty for me, but I believe it’s personal preference. The cheeseburger was not too bad. Overall pretty good experience!

We drove 2 hours to this restaurant for my beau's 40th birthday and they did not disappoint. The host was very attentive and even made sure we had a nice spacious booth in the corner to ourselves. Our waiter Miguel T was heaven sent. He was very courteous and informative regarding the entrées. Miguel picked the perfect birthday drink for my beau. The food was amazing. My beau had the lamb chops, crab claws and I had the seafood platter. We left the restaurant feeling full and extremely satisfied. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

We and other colleagues had a business lunch here, to be honest it's too old style restaurant (seems like a movie set from Scorsese movie) but the stone crab and king crab were amazing. Prices aligned with the crabs currently cost.

Anniversary dinner! Steak was phenomenal, husband described how he likes his steak cooked, Jen L. suggested medium charred and he said it was the best steak he's ever had. I didn't take offense. It was really good. Wait staff was super attentive, Jen was great without hovering, the fried asparagus was amazing. It was breaded and seasoned with maybe Italian seasoning? Served with warm lemon butter sauce on the side. We dipped but it was good on its own. I'll post a picture. My steak was huge. I took 1/2 home!

This was our first time here. Everything was perfect, and we will be going back. The steak was perfectly cooked, better than expected. The fried chicken, oh, that chicken chicken, our son, was not saying a word while eating it. The king crabs were fresh and tasty. Oysters were superb. Everything that we asked for our waiter, Bob, had the perfect answer for us.

This place is an absolute gem. Everything was 5 stars from the food to the service. I don't think I've had better steak or seafood in my life and our server was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable - he really made the night special for us.

My party and I ordered the Steak Oscar (with crab) and the special of the evening - the beef wellington. All food came out in an appropriate time and everything was cooked to perfection. We were served several desserts that were all amazing, although there may have been a small fight over the banana cream pie. The real star of the night though was our waiter, Christopher S - all three of us were from out of town and we absolutely loved the short conversations we were able to have with Christopher and enjoyed his presence. I will be recommending Joe's to everyone in Chicago simply because of his service.

Had an amazing and fancy meal over the summer that has kept me thinking how badly I need to return. The experience did not disappoint. Service was outstanding, the lamb and the filet Mińon was brought out to perfection, Sangria was 👌👌and the key lime pie 🙌…please don’t forget to order the key lime pie. It is extremely important you get the key lime pie ⚠️. Overall the experience is 10/10 and if you’re searching for a quality spot in Chicago you have no need to search further - I Highly recommend you make it a priority to stop here it you are traveling to Chicago.

Our second time here and we love it! Tim always makes it a special experience. We love the music (standards) and the food NEVER disappoints. It's our Sunday afternoon ritual. We walk, but they do have valet. While reservations are recommended, we've never had a problem getting seated on Sunday afternoons.

Dinner was absolutely amazing. The dine in experience was absolutely amazing. Wait staff were knowledgeable and courteous and the food was just absolutely amazing! Had the tuna steak and it was cooked to my liking! Unfortunately the valet service was absolutely the worst part of the night. My party and I arrived in my vehicle and had to sit there and wait while we watched everyone else with a better looking car get served! I literally pulled up and another lady pulled up after me and this lady had her car immediately moved and i still had to wait for someone to come and attend to us. Same case when we were leaving. We watched everyone else get their vehicle and leave even people who exited the restaurant after me left and yet we were left waiting there! I dont want to play the “race card” but I cant help but feel that because I didnt drive a lexus I didnt get immediate seevice. Either way that was the valet service we received and that left a sour taste in my mouth!

This by far one of my favorite places to eat. Either lunch or dinner. I got the browned butter Sole. Very simple but the fish melted in my mouth like butta. Creamed spinach and blistered greens were great sides. And, as always, the service was top notch

If you love yourself, even a little, make your way to Joe's. Upon entry, you're greeted like a friend and led into the cozy dining room for seating. EVERYTHING from there was on point. The server, the drinks, the FOOD, (the warm towel after our appetizers was a nice touch) and the dessert! Did I mention the drinks? 👌🏾 This is fine dining, and you'll pay as such, but it's more than worth it. The server was very knowledgable about the company and the story is quite interesting. It was one of my best experiences dining in Chicago! Highly recommend!

Took husband here for his birthday. We both enjoyed everything with the exception of my Filet Mignon which I asked to be well done. It came back done around the edges but pink in the middle. I'm sure I'm probably one of the few who doesn't like to see pink but you should get what you ask for. Overall I gave 5 stars due to my steak was the only thing I was not happy with. However it had a great taste until I bit into the pink portion. Husband said to try it and I did but it wasn't for me. Waiter said I could have sent it back but I hear too many horror stories when food is sent back so I chose not to. Nevertheless hubby enjoyed himself so I guess that's what matters.

I would give an 8/5 for service. A++++++ Best I’ve ever had. Sierra was simply amazing. Food was good but not great. For the price I expected better. Overall the experience was great although with all the restaurants in Chicago I don’t think I’ll be back.

The service was superb!!! My husband and I had a reservation at 5:00pm we waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. Denise was our server and provided the most wonderful service. Denise was friendly, attentive, professional, and had excellent recommendations. The auxiliary wait staff was also attentive, my husband commented that he had just taken ONE large drink of his water and as he sat his glass down there was someone already refilling his glass for him 😊 The food was great! Not pictured we started with a cup of soup, the Clam Chowder for him and the Crab Bisque for me, then we tried the Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer, then split a Caesar Salad (which was recommended to split by Denise since it’s a large portion). My husband and I agreed the croutons that came with the salad were the best we’ve had (they had a buttery savory taste not over seasoned as some can be). Then came our entrees. I had the Seared Scallops that were cooked to perfection, they melted in your mouth! It was a very light meal which was perfect for me because I was leaving room for dessert! 😁 My husband had the Seafood Pasta and the Four Cheese Mac and Cheese that he enjoyed. For drinks, I had a White Sangria that I requested to be made on the sweeter side (Denise told me this was an option) making it perfect for me and so good and my husband had a Bloody Mary that he said was one of the best he’s ever had. On to dessert, Denise surprised us (since it was our first visit to Chicago) with a complimentary Key Lime Pie it was so delicious!!! We felt bad not ordering the 2 desserts we originally intended to purchase, so we did! My husband ordered the Peanut Butter Pie and I ordered the Chocolate Fudge Pie, both were delicious obviously more rich than the Key Lime but still equally yummy! Denise was kind enough to take the time to take multiple pictures for us to remember our stay! We definitely plan to return when we are back in Chicago! Thanks so much for such wonderful service!!!

It was a nice dinner we had. The server and bus boy were very attentive and nice. Ordered steak, lamb chips and filet mignon; and some side dishes. The restaurant was packed so we had to seat in a high bar table in an area that was very congested already. This cannot be consider full service. We got charge same as having the dinning experience in the main room. Steaks were cooked at the appropriate temperature and the side dishes were tasty but very small. Cannot recomend this place unless they can seat you in the main room. I don't think it is okay to charge you the same price for a bar table experience.

My aunties and I frequent Joe's and love it! The seafood salad is tasty, and so is the halibut. The grilled seafood platter is perfect for variety, the seasonal corn was delicious, and the drinks are good too. My favorite dish is the side of Lyonnaise potatoes, succulent!

Joe's is on the buzzing corner of Rush & Grand. Upon entering the host was very warm which I appreciated. We dined in the beautiful dining room. Our waiter was the best, he made recommendations which were delicious and we were able to laugh heavily with no judgement. I loved it there. I loved it so much I forgot to take pictures of my entrée. I highly recommend the four cheese, Mac and cheese.

This place seems to be a social scene for anyone who is in a who's who crowd. I felt as if I was in a nice restaurant where someone was going to make me an offer I couldn't refuse. The food is a little expensive and "okay" in taste. The staff is excellent. Very fast service (once seated) and extremely polite, anticipates customer needs, and knowledgeable. I ordered the crab cakes and hash browns. The items are all a la carte. The bread basket is very nice. I recommend getting one.

I had oyster for the first time in this restaurant, for something as delicate as that I needed the first time to be special so I decided to try it here, it was good, I guess my taste bud needs to get use to it, not a bad first experience, I also had filet mignon and king crab with asparagus, it was yummy, but I was getting full cos I have ate too much bread, had to take the rest home, my friend had the seafood pasta, she said she enjoyed it as well. attentive and kind waiter(es). Would definitely visit again.
