Beautiful church! Mass was also beautiful except for the part that Eucharistic Ministers don’t even want to give the Eucharist on the tongue. If you are someone that kneels before the Lord and receives on the tongue, I recommend going to the priest’s line. I was also confused that the Ushers at the end of mass said “Thanks for praying with us.” It kind of reminded me of a non denominational church greeting. It made it seem as if we didn’t just see the body and blood of Jesus Christ present. Mass is more than just praying, it’s the perfect form of worship.

I came here like 6 years ago. I remembered it being more beautiful. Don't get me wrong is beautiful, just not as much as a remembered. I always like going to church during no mass hours, they are so peaceful and I feel more connected than during the actual mass.

The Holy Name Cathedral church is a beautiful church. The architecture is just amazing and beautiful. I would recommend that you stop by and visit if you’re in Chicago. For those that live in Chicago you are lucky. We were visiting from out of state and lit some candles for some family and friends. Will stop by again when it down.

Beautiful cathedral with a wooden roof that is very unique. The contrast with the colorful stain glass make this cathedral even more special.

A great cathedral in Chicago loop area, one of the largest Roman Catholic dioceses in the United States. It has some interesting history to it, being a replacement to the previous cathedral which was destroyed in the 1871 fire of Chicago. You can walk to this place easily from the River area and it’s very close to the 360 and the magnificent mile. The interior is impeccable and well maintained and the outside was so quiet. It’s almost a hidden gem in this bustling and busy part of Chicago.

Took a group of 10 students to Holy Name Cathedral for a tour and to learn about the church. It's truly a beautiful building, stunning architecture. Our guide was great and made sure to answer the students questions. Worth a stop if your in the area or are into architecture.

I was most impressed with the architecture. The interior has these wooden arches that seem to go on forever. I was there for a Diaconate ceremony and the acoustics were incredible. Being here makes you feel connected to something bigger than you. it is unexplainable and spiritually rewarding.

One of the most impressive Cathedrals I've visited in the US. Not that big, but amazingly beautiful - fantastic stone exterior, wood interior is mind blowing along with fantastic stained glass in Gothic style.

Very beautiful Catholic Cathedral! It has intricate interior design, and gothic revival architectural design. It also has two fine pipe organs along the choir area. We attended the Friday morning mass while we were in Chicago. It is in a good location a few minutes walk from our hotel. It is a walk along the downtown area. You must visit this cathedral! Definitely a must see in Chicago and a beautiful place to pray and attend mass while traveling Chicago!

Absolutely beautiful Roman Catholic Church in the heart of downtown Chicago. We were here for a wedding and the sound system was excellent, the priest and cantor did a wonderful job and of course hearing the hundred + year old organ really brought back memories of midnight mass! The parish staff that were there to help with the wedding guests were very nice and welcoming. A lovely church and we definitely plan to attend a weekend Mass here again.

I was visiting Chicago, happened to spent a Sunday in the city and decided to attend dominical mass, I just googled a Catholic church and based on my location this place was the top of the list and took the next mass scheduled. Amazing liturgical music! a priest was at the door welcoming people. everything was clean and organized. This is a beautiful temple, accessible from public transportation system. No need to say the mass was magnificent and homily was clear and adapted to our nowadays reality. I will definitely come back some time in the future.

Beautiful church located on the Near North Side. Even if you're not there to attend mass, it's worth your time to take 30 minutes to walk through it just to view the amazing architecture. Especially considering there is no admission fee.

I attended a concert, Handel's Messiah, last Saturday in the Cathedral. I had never been in the church before. It was magnificent. I went back for mass the next morning. You really feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.

We were in Chicago for a short mid December visit and were fortunate to be able to attend mass on Sunday. A beautiful interior, warm and inviting. We were also fortunate that there was a short tour of the Cathedral immediately after mass. The docent was very knowledgeable about the Cathedral's history and the many things you'd never know just by attending mass. Beautiful, moving time spent.

The day I went they were holding mass and were in the middle of it. I really wanted to see bullet holes from the life attempt on Dean O'Banion by Al Capone's goons. Truly amazing city with so much history.

The sanctuary’s design is absolutely stunning. Great mass, the Flentrop Organ(Baroque style)is absolutely beautiful sounding and the pipe casing is very nicely decorated. It was my first time in October last year, I enjoyed the topic of homily………..could’ve been on the shorter side, but other than that. This is a place I recommend. As we all know, god’s doors are open to all.

Recommend to arrive a little early to Mass as it can get crowded. Free parking at a lot about block away.
