I'm in town on business, and had to stop in and try this place. Reviews were solid. This place DID NOT disappoint. Although the place is smaller, shaped like a rectangle with you entering on the short side, it had a lot of cool seating. Booths, picnic tables, normal tables, and some street window seats. My double bacon, egg, and cheese burger was delicious! Fries were solid, potato style like 5 guys...but better. Chocolate malt was good. Sharing pics. Staff was cool. Music was great. Their music system played Tom Petty, Marshall Tucker Band, The Black Keys, Spoon, and off-hit Johnny Cash. I'd go here again and again!

Pretty good burger spot; kind of pricey for burgers, but I’d imagine it would be a cool spot to catch a Bears game. Our server was really friendly and attentive. I did the Bison build-a-burger, and it was pretty good. They also have gluten free buns, for anyone who needs a gf menu.

This is a good place if you like beer 🍺 I'm not a fan but it's good for that. I got the ribs devil eggs burger and tots. The ribs were good mostly fat but the meat I did get was good. The deviled eggs are wet and the shrimp that is in it is too mild to even notice. Burger come how u want it kinda raw to well down. Server was very attentive.

The food was really good. There's no question that they have some of the best burgers that I've ever tasted. Their wings were pretty good and the February special with the mole sauce was really good. Will definitely be back

This place was a great find on our recent family vacation in Chicago. Burgers are something everyone can agree on usually. The staff here were really friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice, great music, low lighting, and good for everyone...many families there with kids besides us. The food was Soo good! They had many super interesting premade burger suggestions or you can build your own. If you are a beer drinker they have it all so you will be happy. All of us left full and happy on our first night in Chicago. We will definitely go again!!

Came here after a conference and it was so good that I had friends come meet me. Carmen was working the bar and she was amazing, knew the beers and had excellent recommendations. She helped us to create amazing burgers from the build your own menu and made delicious cocktails to go with them. This was a memorable experience and when I come back to Chicago the Burger Bar will be what I base my entire trip around. Thank you to everyone and especially to Carmen!

Burgers and food were fantastic. Shakes and wings are a must. Vibe and atmosphere is pretty nice, location is good. Gonna give the benefit of the doubt and say short staffing was causing issues. Server didn’t really give us much attention, but food came fast and everyone was super friendly. Expect to spend a little money, but food is good.

No better place than this one!! Just the fix you need for whatever be type of burger you may prefer The patty so juicy and soft and grilled to just the right level The combination of pickles, onions, cheese and sauces just pop the flavours to another level Service is so friendly and you want to hang on more with club music and happy people all around A must visit in Chicago !

GLUTEN FREE GREATNESS! For those of you truly Celiac and get as pumped as I do when we can order FRENCH FRIES when we are out bc there is no cross contamination in the fryer they use for FRIES 🍟 …. THIS IS THE PLACE!!! 🎉 My GF BUN was one of the better ones ever be had … it was soft and wonderful !! The entire staff was AMAZING and Extremely KNOWLEDGEABLE about FOOD ALLERGIES! Oh … and I’m not a big sweet person, however, they have HOMERS Ice Cream, you should scream bc I Scream for Homers Ice Cream … its local to Chicago and the Bomb Diggety and most flavors are GLUTEN FREE AMAZINGNESS … so get to BURGER BAR ASAP!

We had a great family get together here last night. Service was fantastic, efficient, attentive and without hawking over us, all the Burgers and fries were fantastic. The Kids Sliders and chicken fingers were great. Nice sized portions. Definitely be back.

Honestly we were super excited to try this place after seeing the menu and reading reviews. We decided to get take out since it’s storming pretty bad. Unfortunately the people up front weren’t very friendly, and when we got back, we found that over half of the items were missing. One burger was missing almost everything including cheese, sauce, mushrooms, and onions and the avocado they included was very very old (see picture). We were also missing items on the other burger, entire sides, and sauces. Really really disappointing.

The food was very good, but not excellent. The deviled eggs were a highlight. While I very much enjoyed the food, it was not with the price at some $50/person for lunch. The atmosphere was decent except for the loud, low quality sound system blasting a strange mix of different genres of music. The service was excellent and our waitress was attentive and accommodating.

Burgers were pretty good but not quite as good as they looked, or quite as good as some of our favorites others in the price range. At $15-20 for burgers it was disappointing they didn't come with fries. Service was good, bit of an expensive beer list. Enjoyed our lunch watching March Madness, probably wouldn't go out of our way to go again.

Not great. Fries were cold when the food came out. Burger was warm but pretty salty. Considering it was $30 for a burger I would not recommend. Surprised there are so many other good reviews here because I had high hopes. Do yourself a favor and head to the shake shack down the street.

It wasn’t busy but the service was subpar the waiter refused to split check with me and my co-worker. He argued with my coworker over her salad she ordered. He told her she did not order it with an attitude. He was pretty rude about her grilled cheese and salad wow!! The food was ok! The fried pickles wasn’t fried pickling on the Urban Stacker Burger 🍔

Been here twice now and both times I've had easily the best burger I've ever had. The Firehouse stacker is incredible! If you can handle spice do yourself a favor and also ask for fresh jalapeños on the burger

Called in to confirm a new order wouldn’t take long bc I was going to a football watch party. I walked in an hardly any staff and was instructed to order online. The online menu was confusing and I had to seek out bartender for help. I built a burger and online menu suggested I add a protein but told bartender I only wanted 1 patty. He told me to select a protein in any case. Order took over 25 mins and my boyfriend called to complain. Then staff gave me wrong takeout order and had to drive back for correct order. And my burger had 2 patties and zero mushrooms - I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger. My burger looks terrible in pics below. I paid $63 incl tip for 2 burgers and received lousy service and didn’t even get what I specifically ordered and was given incorrect info from bartender. No wonder the place was nearly empty with dining customers. Waste of money! Eat somewhere else.

We walked to the Burger Bar from the Shedd Aquarium. Great food! Great service and the atmosphere was nice too! This bar is located in a very nice part of the city. We were able to walk back to Union Station from here.

I was blown away by the food! I was surprised that it wasn't at the top of dinner recommendations. I ordered the chicago bbq wings, smoked French dip stacker, and hot & Smokey stacker. The burgers were huge & did not disappoint. If you love a good bloody mary, they got it. The manager was so friendly and made us feel so welcomed to Chicago! Go there!

My family had lunch here today. The kids meals were well received. Chicken tenders and grilled cheese. I had the firehouse burger, however, if you’re looking for a spicy burger , you won’t get it with this burger. The burger was well cooked, it just didn’t provide the spice that was advertised.

We visited Chicago from our of town and this place was close to our hotel and had good reviews. They fit us in without a reservation and we were very glad they did. We got build your own burgers that were both really delicious. The urban sauce was a spicey honey mustard sauce that came with the fried pickles appetizer and was so good I also got it on my burger. The parmesan truffle fries were so freaking good, and so was the mac and cheese my partner ordered. We had a couple drinks that were quite good as well. And while overall our service was great, we did notice that the wait staff seemed to stand around the bar for long periods of time. It wasn't until we ordered a cider and their lemon peach drink that we realized it was because they were all waiting on the bartenders. They may have been extremely busy, so I try to give the benefit of the doubt, but they sent my partner's cider prior to our food arriving and not the lemon peach drink that was mine. My drink didn't come until after I'd eaten my whole dinner. Otherwise, everything was so good and hopefully we'll be able to visit the next time we're in Chicago!

14th Oct. Was a lovely place, had great atmosphere. Leading up to game day. Food was not up to standard. Ribs / chicken wings over cook. Fries ocercookedand greasy. Asked for onion rings and got slivers of onion , cold and unable to be eaten. Very disappointed.

Amazing burgers and great selection of draft beer including gluten free options. The server was great at making sure we received the correct gluten free options. The wings were delicious!!

Great friendly staff. They are short staffed so you the burgers will take some time to get to your table. For taste I was content with but was not my favorite burger. My boyfriend really enjoyed and he just didn’t really appreciate the fries. I’d come back :)

A nice local bar for Bears fans... Spacious with a nice size bar. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and an apple strudel shake. I also got a poutine with tater tots for later on the train. The burger was tasty with three cheeses and apple bacon, but it seemed preformed and frozen to me. The shake, while small for the price, was absolutely delicious! In all I enjoyed the meal and even the poutine, hours later, even cold as Amtrak would not allow me to reheat on board. My only concern was the price... with a 20% gratuity it came to $48... for lunch... for a burger and fries...a $20 burger!

We had an absolutely amazing time! The hostess was super nice, and our waitress Destinee was probably the friendliest person I have ever met. Not to mention, the food was delicious (I wholeheartedly recommended the parmesan wings, but you can’t go wrong with anything from the menu).

I don't know what the hype was about this restaurant because it didn't go so well for us. I think they had amazing ideas for food and the flavor was there but it was presented like it was made by a teenager getting paid minimum wage. The macaroni was dry like it had been sitting out, the burgers weren't stacked up all pretty like they looked in the picture.. They were just kind of thrown on the plate and falling apart, the deviled eggs were kind of gross, the truffle tots looked like they were sprinkled with powdered parmesan from Walmart, the poutine had one cold hard chunk of cheese in the middle of the fries and the hostess was very snarly and rude. Our server on the other hand was very accommodating. I also liked that they have a photo booth! They give you an opportunity to hang your photo on the wall, as well, so it was fun to look through everybody else's pictures that had done it before us. All together, I think they are really on to something at this restaurant but it's just not quite all the way there yet. You can tell the owner put a lot of hard work and creativity into his menu and his workers are just ruining it by being lazy.

I got vegetarian burger and good truffle fries both of which were good. Definently a cool place to check out and I would definitely go back again.,

It's actually sad for me to write this review as a South Loop resident, Visited on a Sat night and paid full amount + 20% tip to be financially fair. Service staff was nice. Unfortunately tap beers were foamy and not very cold. Medium burger turned out to be dripping blood and sent back to kitchen. Food came back was apparent that the kitchen re-cooked the beef already served on my plate instead of serving a new burger. Tater tots were just warm with a very thick crust. What I saw reminded me the TV show Bar Rescue... Good luck!
