We came around 10pm.. got a table right away and they were still pretty busy. Everything had great flavor! The fried pot stickers were the best thing we had. The baked egg yolk creamy buns were over baked. The food came out really fast. It was ridiculously cold in the restaurant. It made it hard to enjoy dinner with it being so cold. Overall good experience.

The service wasn’t great to begin our dining experience. The waitress initially seemed surprised that we asked about vegetarian food and then was unhelpful in finding items that we could eat. The food was good. There were some dishes that were better than others. Overall, a decent restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. Not the best for vegetarians, especially for those who don’t eat eggs.

We came here to celebrate a wedding 🎊 recommendation: MAKE reservations! This place was packed. The food was amazing. The service is what you would expect. Fast and accurate. Highly recommend the short ribs, green beans and any of the dumplings. I loved the lazy Susan. It made grabbing the food with a large group so much easier. Enjoy!

We were very disappointed in the dim sum here. They do have a very nice variety of items you order off a menu but they are just ok. When I read about their Michelin worthiness I was excited to try them but didn’t find any of the food that could or should be Michelin awarded! Food was good but not great. Many things were amiss and it wasn’t just the food. The table was dirty. The teapot brought to the table had brown stuff caked on the side of the outside. The restaurant had a weird smell too. I was embarrassed as I had hyped this place up to the person I was bringing here. I was totally disappointed and kind of embarrassed. You order the dim sum and they bring it to the table vs the cart system. I’ll go back to my reliable dim sum restaurant standby; Phoenix!

Went on a Saturday night was a pretty long wait to get a table which to me is just the sign of a great restaurant. I ordered multiple items off the dim sum menu. Most were great, some better than others. I think I made a mistake however not ordering an entree as I saw many amazing looking ones coming to other tables. The shrimp looked amazing!!!

We couldn't leave Chicago without getting some dim sum! Their dumplings and rice crepes were great, congee was one of the best I've had in the US. I just wish I had more room in my stomach to try more things. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable. Would definitely come again. This place is on the Michelin Guide for Chicago

Every time I go to Chicago I visit this place for whatever reason, and have been doing so for the past 6 years. Honestly from a food flavor standpoint, I do not think it has the best dim sum in the area, especially if you choose the wrong thing. The chicken feet and the shrimp dumplings (whichever kind) I think are always great. The baked creamy egg yolk bun (金酥流沙包) I will get every time. The sweet egg pastry (金黄蛋散) unfortunately I will not get again. Food-aside, the place is super accessible and huge, which explains its popularity. Dim sum is served at a very efficient manner, and over the years they continue to try to improve their menu by adding innovative items or expanding categories instead of being content with what they already got. The fact that this place serves dim sum day and night for the Chinese community and beyond in the Chicago area seven days a week without having people do too much other than just eat and enjoy is why I am giving it a 5 star. I will need to expand my dim sum horizon the next time I visit Chicago, but this place always has a place in my heart.

Decent dim-sum place with pretty good prices. The dim-sum tasted good but nothing special. We filled ourselves to the brim and spent just over $30 per person, but I think $20 is more than sufficient for a normal meal. The atmosphere can get a little hectic. Would still recommend overall.

Visiting from Los Angeles. This location is great. It's open late (midnight) and so many other excellent restaurants in that alley. The food is surprisingly good. Here's what I ordered. Chilled jellyfish - excellent Chinese broccoli - crunchy goodness Roast duck - good Chicken feet - tender cartilage goodness Sticky rice lotus leaf - my favorite Pan fried turnip cake - fair Pork feet - not great/too sweet I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants something authentic.

It was our first time here, and this place is decently not too bad. I ordered the shrimp dumplings, chicken fried rice, and fried pork. The fried pork was good but super moist (wish it came with some spicy sauce or something instead of sugar). The fried rice was okay, it needs a little more flavor though. The shrimp dumpling was super good however. Overall, the place is okay. It seems quite fancy and prices come out to be pretty high (around $30-$50 or more). I would not eat here again, considering the price and the food (not too impressed). The service was good however!

Given its popularity, crowded Sunday afternoon was expected. It was probably the most crowded setting I’ve been since the beginning of this pandemic. Despite such large crowd, the orders arrived promptly without any error. Overall, most of the items were slightly on bland side. Also, the ingredients were not specified well in the menu so some people were caught by surprise upon arrival of the food. For example, someone on the table ordered chive dumplings thinking it is a vegetarian dish. When it was brought to the table, we discovered that it actually contained pork. The service is great and its Chinatown location is quite convenient.

They had a large variety of food and most were pretty good! Highly recommend their chicken feet and bbq pork buns. Their drinks were pretty strong too! Servers didn't talk too much but was good.

A very nice place in Chinatown Chicago. We spent around $40 USD per person, ordering from everything to taste a little bit. The service was fast, they had a table right away. The only issue is parking is difficult but overall an A+!

By far the best I’ve had since California’s hidden gems..walked into China Town wondering how to choose the greatest experience when surrounded by so many options. An elderly Asian lady approached us to sign a petition, I then asked which spot she recommended and am I glad I did! This place was the best on many levels. From everything brought out fresh fast and delicious down to the process. Ordered several items first from the dim sum menu.. pork ribs and beef ribs included. Continued on to main course items like combination fried rice and beef with Chinese broccoli. I will comment on the fact that I’ve visited many many eateries and have to majorly compliment this spots system. It runs absolutely amazing, they first welcome you with a pitcher of hot tea and iced water as well as an itemized colored dim sum menu to choose your appetizers with a pen provided.. you then get to tap in your order in a perfectly though out tablet display. Smooth efficient system and just plain delicious! No complaints and highly highly recommend. A must try in China Town!

The decor and ambiance are great. Our main goal was to try the peking duck, which was delicious. We also took advantage of the dim sum, which did not disappoint. The staff was fantastic and very attentive. We will certainly return to try more of the dim sum because we just ordered too much food. They make their own sweet and sour sauce, and you can taste how fresh it is. Just beware that the entrance is not on the side of the public parking lot.

This restaurant is well known Chinese place. Reservations are not needed but recommended. We didn’t have to wait for table of 4. The food is one of the best Chinese out there for sure. Dimsum were really fresh. And chicken fried rice and beef stir fried noodle were excellent. The restroom needs big improvement. Parking across the street they will validate for you and it will become just $2 for three hours.

This place was pretty good for my first time. I arrived with a party of 2 and was seated immediately with no wait. We were given a menu but I felt they took a little long too come take our order. I ordered a vegetable fried rice plate and added shrimp on a tablet they provided, but when our plate arrived it had no shrimp. I looked at the receipt and instead of adding shrimp they added extra vegetables to my vegetable fried rice. Pretty disappointed but the flavor was still good. I also order the crab rangoons and they were delicious. The place was good but missed the mark a little on the service side.

Definitely 5 stars. Food was well flavored. Serve respected dietary restrictions. I just don't know why our Asian server with the sandy dyed hair decided to tell me his name is "Joe" but even the receipt said "Allen"🤔 Also didn't get the greatest portion of noodles for $18 veggie plate.....

Went for dim sum on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered a bunch of dishes and a couple entrees. The portion sizes here were hella large, you definitely get your money’s worth. The food tasted good, not the greatest Chinese food you’ll eat but still delicious. I’d recommend going with your friends or family and eating “family style” instead of ordering by yourself.

Can't imagine a better place for family meet up on new year day. It is within Chicago city yet away enough from tall buildings to give a warmer setting. On occasions you might wait much longer for some orders to arrive such as beef stake in my case but also on time for other foods. Anyhow there's nothing to lose. The rooms are large and fairly spaced for covid (don't know if intentionally arranged) but appears so. Something to watch out for: the hot beef stake on their menu actually taste sweet and felt disappointed. One would imagine their menu will indicate if sweet than spicy but at the end I have enough to eat and don't have to worry a lot about that.

Very good dim sum and cantonese style stir fry. The dim sum portions are nice and big and flavor profile is good. The chicken feet is nice and tender fall of the bone. The stir fry clam in black bean sauce is delicious over rice. The yang chow fried rice is cooked perfectly. The roasted duck in soy sauce is impeccable. Prices are a little on the higher side but really wasn't that bad.

Amazing Chinese food, great flavors, and something for everyone. My favorite is the pineapple chicken, which has fresh ginger. Good variety, Cantonese dishes as well as fresh seafood. Nice atmosphere and pretty decor. They gave us a tablet to order on, plus regular menus. They have a good ginger vodka cocktail.

It doesn't look it from the outside but this place is huge on the inside, lots of tables and space. I was worried I'll be waiting as a walk-in but we were seated pretty immediately. Service is a bit slow, not sure if this is normal but isn't a deal breaker. The food was mostly good and the flavors were there. I found out I'm not a fan of lotus root, so that was a bummer. A few dishes had them so that was a waste on me :( My biggest knock on a star is about the offering of the dish. I forget what it was but a couple of the meat dishes had very few pieces of meat. For example, we had a medium plate something like pork and lotus root. I counted like 3 or 4 pieces of meat and then triple the amount of lotus root, seemed like they were deliberately overloading on the other stuff to cover the little amount of meat. This happened in more than 1 dish, so it was starting to look like a pattern. Anyway, stick to the dumplings cause those were good and were fair sizes and offerings. Also def get the fried green chive pancakes, yummy. Overall, still a good experience and still enjoyed the rest of the dishes we had.

In town to attend an event and family wanted to visit this town favorite. Well definitely lives up to the hype and 30 minute wait time as the food has earned my "Certified Mad Good" rating. The staff and atmosphere is equally impressive and a must try

Ordered the crab wontons, combination rice, vegetable fried rice, noodles, spring roll, beef stir fry and general Tsao chicken. Everything was good and came in large portions to serve at least 2-3 people. If you're in Chinatown and craving Chinese food, this is a good place to try.

Excellent service and super quick when it came to the order process. There is a good amount of selections and the squid items were super tasty. You could tell the seafood was fresh. The lava yolk bun was the most amazing though. Would highly recommend that and the curry baby cuttlefish!

This place is very authentic and they have menu items for everyone's style. We had the beef string bean and added garlic it was very delicious we also had the rice noodles those were excellent. We have the fried octopus super delicious recommend 💯. We also tried the smaller items which were all perfect . I highly recommend this place if your around Chinatown!

Even though they were incredibly busy they attended us rapidly. Great place to have Dim Sum and Fried noodles and rice. I have never been to China but I’m sure this is exactly what good Chinese food tastes like!

Quiet authentic, this time I try the sea cucumber this….braised in oyster sauce in Cantonese Style…not slimy and have a good texture…who love sea cucumber should try this one. Great for HongKong style Dim Sum…this time I went to China Town branch

First time doing dim sum. Quite the experience. Here's a list of all 11 items ranked: Must get: 1. BBQ pork bao- bao was soft and airy, pork was the perfect compliment 2. Deep fried shrimp roll- the amount of shrimp inside was unbeatable 3. Siu mai- beef and shrimp complimented each other very well 4. Chaozhou style dumpling- flavor explosion in my mouth Would get again: 5. Country style dumpling- similar to the chaozhou but not as flavorful 6. Deep fried pork dumpling- loved the crisp outisde and soft inside 7. Baked bbq pork bun- the bun was so soft and inside was not too sweet 8. Deep fried jumbo sesame ball- subtly sweet but would have liked a filling inside Disappointed: 9. Short rib with honey sauce- was looking for more of a honey flavor and tender meat 10. BBQ pork crepe- was hoping it was like the bun or bao but in crepe form; no need for this one when there are similar bbq pork options are on the menu Not for me: 11. Stir fried sticky rice- none of us liked it as we barely touched it; weird flavor that can't be explained They were very busy as we waited to get seated. Unfortunately, they took a long time between our first order (split that into two seperate deliveries) and the second order. We got to the point where we were full and not really excited to eat the rest. Overall, a very fun time and looking forward to coming back and trying out some of the other items.

We enjoyed my daughter’s birthday here. The green beans and beef were the standout dish and everyone’s favorite. The pork fried rice and chow mein were very good. I loved the crab and corn soup. The short ribs and pork belly were ok but wouldn’t order that combination again. The orange chicken was ok but the group’s least favorite dish.

It’s been five years since my visit here. The menu has grown and included now many dim sum options. The pan fried potstickers were good, the egg custards too. The ham and cheese buns were not and should be avoided. Service was below average and some effort was required to overcome language barrier and gain attention. Open until midnight!

  • 5/5 Barry P. 3 months ago on Google New
The food was very fresh and delicious. You can tell they make a lot of their sauces in house. Prices are also very reasonable, especially considering it's Chicago.
