Pretentious and fake welcoming. Person that checked me out was not a good listener. So far the food tastes good though. I just don’t know if I’ll stop back in if I’m ever in town from Michigan again. I agree with one of the other reviewers. Giving whites only but we’ll fake it to take your money. I bought about ten items and this lady asked me would I like a bag. Get some class/etiquette!

This place has a wide variety of food. Overall the meals they have are healthy. I enjoy eating the lasagna and pad Thai. The smoothies here are great too. However they do not have any juices which is such a bummer!

Very special place filled with so much healthy and delicious food, savory dishes to go or creamy desserts, smoothies, juices, shots, raw desserts such as donuts, tiramisu or other cakes, crackers, chocolate barks, muffins, chips and more! I'm so glad to discover it there and they have 2 locations, the second one (Time-out market) has also warm pizza being sold by two slices. Everything so delicious and so great, you can eat a lot of this food and you don't feel heavy but full of energy. Real fuel for the body/mind/soul/spirit and there was a very kind staff. Very nice experience in Chicago!

Got a to-go salad and it was not fresh anymore. Lettuce was pink and wilted. Radishes were turning brown. Fruits were not fresh and looked dried out (they were not dried fruit). Sad, I wanted to like this but won’t go back as it seems they don’t keep an eye on there to-go case for food going bad. Will admit I should’ve looked at it better before buying, but at a place like this you expect things to be fresh.

OMG🤩!!! It's REAL raw Vegan meals. I've only ordered online so the menu options are super limited. I did a little scream and happy dance when I walked into the store. The selection is WAY better. Best part is they offer half servings. What what!?!? And there's a freezer section with all kinds of yummy frozen desserts. It's nice to get away from the fruit and salads. The spaghetti and meatballs were !MuAh! A savory meal for sure. I took a friend and he thought it was going to be rabbit food. He got the pad thai and empanada. He was impressed that it was So good. The seasonings are on point. I spent under $60 for everything for us both. So worth it. Can't wait to go back.

Greetings, I just received my order via door dash. I got the Chicago Style Pizza, Chicago Raw Rolls, the lemon dessert. Well the pizza was alright but not worth the price, and the Raw Rolls had very visible mold growing from the top of each roll. Horrible!!! I called Chicago Raw about my disgust and frustration because I am unable to come by to rectify this situation because I'm scheduled to get on a train in 30min. The lady who answered the phone tried to explain to me about that normally happens with fresh food as if I'm supposed to expect that. And because I ordered through door dash, I needed to go through them for a refund. That response was very unacceptable. Because I am vegan, that maybe so to some degree but it looks differently when you serve it to people. This showed me, that it was taken off of the shelf, not inspected and just dropped in the bag. Needless to say, I will never purchase from here again and BTW this was my first time trying this restaurant. Horrible experience!

I love raw vegan restaurants for their creativity in creating dishes that requires little to no cooking, which is more challenging than one thinks. The small shop is a womxn owned business and is a cozy, grab and go environment. There were a few seats by the window but I anticipate most people will swing by for something and be on their way. For breakfast, I ordered their Acai Bowl ($15) with fresh fruit, protein powder, and granola. It was a decent sized portion and everything was blended nicely, although their granola felt a bit hard. But you really can't go wrong with acai and other freshness in the morning. They sell a variety of takeout meals including wraps, sushi, lasagna, etc., and yes, all of it is raw so you're really benefiting from all the natural vitamins and minerals in whole foods. It's definitely on the steeper end but I appreciate that it's available to the masses.

We came here for two days in a row around brunch time while visiting Chicago. There aren't many healthy plant based options in the city. The food does not disappoint. We had the smoothies, the bowls and some desserts and all were delicious. The owner is extremely friendly and personable. A highly recommended stop for all plant based fans in Chicago.

I visited the Gold Coast location and the employee was not wearing a face mask, and neither were the 2 other people in the store at the time. This is a heath violation with COVID 19. The store is a small space which does not even have 6 feet of space to social distance. When I called to complain they laughed at me and said they offer no appologies and it is their right to not wear a face mask during a pandemic. .This is dangerous and irresponsible and puts the lives and health of their customers at risk. This place should lose their license and not be allowed to be in business

I love this place! I discovered Raw at a Farmers Market in New Buffalo in 2013. I was thrilled to learn that they had two locations in Chicago. One at The French Market and the other location on Huron. Even though I'm no longer raw vegan or vegan, my body craves the nutrition and goodness this food provides. The desserts are hands down the best tasting, lemon square, slice of heaven (there is a reason for this name), pumpkin slice, or tiramisu, the kale chips and granola and my go to snacks, and the kitchen sink cookie is filling and will be my daily breakfast this week... Except for today. Today is birthday acai bowl breakfast 😁

Stopped in while on a business trip and the food was incredible. Sooo many options so, definitely going back. Pro tip: get the small sized portions so you can try a bunch of different ones. The Chicago raw rolls were 10/10! 👏

I got a little of everything here just to see if this was going to be my new favorites place to eat and $119 later I was disappointed. Proportions small, everything tastes horrible. I added spaghetti sausage to my zucchini pasta salt and pepper. And for the vegan burger they were so crispy like a rice crispy paddy, I ended up throwing them away. The rice bowl I haven’t even tried but I am sure I won’t be impressed. I will have to stick to my favorites Vegan place in the city is The Chicago Cafe! Way better taste and flavors!!!

There is so much variety that I couldn't decide and ended up ordering many dishes. After sampling them all, I couldn't decide which was my favorite as they were ALL extraordinary. The empanadas were so tasty like comfort food. The spicy noodles were exciting for the taste buds. The lemon bars were super flavorful. The kale chips are the best I've ever had and that's saying a lot because I love the kale chips that I make. 5 deserving stars!!!

I use to love Chicago Raw, it was my special treat to myself since 2015. This pandemic changed the way I feel about this place. I've spent a lot of money in this place, and completely feel digusted. I visited this establishment in MARCH for my birthday, so excited. I had a relative give me $100 to get the few items I've craved. I'm usually Raw 5-7 times a year. Well, the food was fermented, God awful. I live by Oakpark so I instagramed the owner, immediately after, no response, Which she usually does. July 17, 2020 Four months later an email was sent to me. I was shell shocked. I explained my unhappiness one again via email, this was the response. "H Michelle! I am so sorry about this experience. Next time we ask if you please bring back the food with receipt. Our food is made with no preservatives and we do our best to ensure freshness. There is a chance that an item was not rotated properly. I am going to send you a coupon to make up for it. Our apologies!" What, are you kidding me. I was sick for a week after the vegetables were sold to the public and was no good. The food fermented in my system and caused a Chohns disease flare up badly. A coupon was all that was offering on August 17, 2020. Oh by the way it's December 9th, 8:12pm, no coupon was sent. This moment let me know how she's valued me as a customer. I feel disregarded, dismissed, & disrespected. Karma knows no name, no gender, no race, no wealth, it's coming. Thumbs down 6 feet under! I don't refer this place to any of my clients who want to treat themselves to something healthier. Did she think I forgot. No ma'am was invested in my Masters in Nutrition, as I was doing an assignment it reminded me how horrible I was treated and to never treat anyone like this. In closing, You will hear of this establishment in the future, Karma does what it has to do. M.

The refrigerated entrees are a little bland (everything kind of tastes the same), but the desserts and the dry foods are where it's at. Everything is inventive and vegan. The granola is so good and not overly sweet. The carrot raisin muffin, too.

I was walking in the area and noticed this little boutique-type food location. I was quite impressed, as a health food nut job. My issues with food start with anaphylaxis food allergies. Tree nuts, sesame seeds (also the main ingredient in tahini, sadly), soy. Their foods are labeled incredibly well. Prices seem steep, but honestly for what they offer, they are not. I did not buy anything (yet) as I need to do far more looking into the company and perhaps email about food safety, but once I'm cleared for some items, I'll go back. Or, I see they are also housed inside my Whole Foods in Streeterville. I'm not sure what part of the store, but I'm excited!!

I've never had kelp noodles before, and now that I have, I am excited to try making this myself because it is savory! Make sure to squeeze the lemon and add sauce to get the full flavor. I am keeping this place as #1 vegan meals. 😊

I'm so angry. I wish this place was out of the city so I can visit more. I would definitely be a regular. We don't have many raw places in Jefferson Park/ harlim Higgins area so when I'm out getting my nerve blocks I stop at this place. Totally worth it but like I said I wish it was definitely closer because I absolutely despise the city. The parking is kind of difficult and then you have to pay for it. Which sucks but other than that the food is fired. You need to understand with ride items. Things are cold so that the nutrients are left in the product and it's been very good for my stomach issues

I Was In Search Of A Vegan Alkaline Restaurant Nearby, And Found Chicago Raw. My Experience At This Restaurant Today, Reminded Me Of The 1960's When Restaurants Had Whites ONLY Signs Plastered All Over Their Windows. When I Walked Inside I Was Not Greeted By The Cashier Brittany, And When I Asked About The Spinach Lasagna, Brittany Looked Up, Rolled Her Eyes And Pointed Towards The Cooler. The White Gentleman Was Greeted, And Asked If He Was Ready To Order. After Receiving His Order, Brittany Thanked Him, And She Told Him To Have A Good Day. Meanwhile, I Was Still Standing At The Cooler Trying To Decide Which Items To Purchase,. Brittany Never Asked If I Needed Any Assistance. I Was Made To Feel As Though My Presence Wasn’t Welcomed At Chicago Raw So, I Decided To Walk Out. As I Began To Walk Towards The Exist, Brittany Didn't Say Have Nice Day Or Thank You For Stopping By. I Have A Huge Social Media Platform Following So, I Will Be Posting My Seemingly "Whites Only" Experience At Chicago Raw Restaurant. It's Apparent That Racism Is Really RAW!!!

It is grievous that I have previously partaken in exploring the art of compliment, as it is simply possible to speak highly of the work of this establishment. I admire the garlic sticks and the raw roll. I must avoid added sugars, but the deserts are lustworthier than the new cookies at Crumbl. Sadly I notice the grapefruit juice is not prepared in-house, as the flavor combination of the spirulina smoothie is superior to others, including my vice for Bluice Wayne at RealGood Stuff Co (it includes a sweetener). For a blue magick treat, I prefer the refrigerated nut milks at Infiniteus Rocks & Juice.

For a newly raw vegan convert (like myself), and likely seasoned vets alike, this place is a dream. Endless selection from entrées, desserts, and beverages, to even all natural beauty products. Not a whole lot of places like this! Highly recommend.

Unfortunately the food is not consistent, one day it's good the next is bad. Also, last time I ate there one of the dishes was spoiled, and the other one had mold on it. I spent almost $40 for spoiled, moldy lunch - not worth the hype, the food is simply not fresh.

I came to see Chicago and this was the first place I stopped in. I came for some inspiration on becoming vegetarian due to dietary restrictions. The lasagna was amazing, for my first vegan experience I would have to say I could eat this once a day easily! Although the other things were a bit not to my liking such as the pesto was a little too minty for my liking but wasn’t horrible! The apple pie wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t good. The moose would have been so much better if there was less cacao seeds and more moose, as well as less Cayenne pepper. It was like 3/4 cacao seeds, although I do like cacao so I just added the rest to a smoothie! The cranberry muffin was horrible, she told me if I got a small one it would leave me wanting more, that was a huge lie! Lasagna was definitely worth it though, just the lasagna!! If I would have only gotten the lasagna and nothing else I would have rated it 5 stars. So just be careful on what you pick.

Worse experience ever in Chicago Dining, the owner was extremely disrespectful and spiteful after it was brought to her attention that our food was spoiled/ not fresh . Chicago Raw is a wonderful health food store. It is family-owned and actually cares about the health and well-being of its customers. Polly, the owner, and her staff are always pleasant and knowledgeable. All of the food is well-prepared, healthy and delicious. Yeah we just went to this location and ordered us a two small salads, lady called “the part owner” gave us a thimble of salad dressing and we asked the lady for some extra salad dressing and crispies missing, she basically gave me the stink guy that’s it couldn’t even answer us basically said you’re not getting it and then some bum Walked In to ask for a handout and she had the nerve to ask me what t just happened here. It’s the size of a closet and she heard everything so I don’t what I was going on. Horrible service !

This place is ok. They still use alot of oats, tomatoes and also agave which are inflammatorys. My take is to go for the coffee and smoothie bowls. The sweet potato pairs are for n the pumpkin pie raw was bomb. Also the fact they use honey is not vegan and do be aware its vegetarian mix(uses dairy and other non vegan preserves) .

Food is good but I wouldn't say it's my favorite sushi to get in chicago. I don't think I'll be ordering from here again soon. I just think the sushi didn't have much flavor to them. I was rather disappointed by the special Maki I ordered. I think my favorite was the Miami roll but not by much.

Pricey but not everything is tasty. They sell expensive packaged coconut water but at Chloe's in NYC, you can get fresh coconut water for 1/4 the price (basically, they make a hole in a coconut for you). Maybe Chicago Raw expects you to pay the "Midwest premium" on such items.
