Man it should be a crime for Manny's Cafeteria and Deli to taste so damn good! Look here, I've been to a higher number than most people when it comes to going to restaurants throughout the entire Chicago land in Northwest Indiana areas but Manny's Cafe & Deli is one of the Best places to eat in the Chicagoland Area hands down. The food is always fresh and hot and ready to be eating like you've never ate before. When you go inside and look at the menu and all the food they have available, you're gonna be taken back to a time when food was food for real. This place is the spot when you want great food. Whether you get the turkey pastrami the regular pastrami the corned beef the roast beef the chicken you simply cannot lose ever with anything you order from this location. I can't make this up, you have to go here once in a lifetime if you haven't ever been. This is one of the Best restaurants in the Chicago area!

First I have to say the food was good. The meatball soup was delicious. The meatball itself was cooked perfectly to the point the spoon cut into it like butter. I also picked up the corn beef and pastrami sandwich on Rye bread. Good amount of meat and not to dry. But I really didn't find the taste mind-blowing or a must-have sandwich when you come to Chicago. It was just a good sandwich. The staff was friendly and very commutative. Really, the only reason it lost a star was because of the price. I payed $32 with drink! For cafeteria good! I don't know if I'll come back. The place seems like it's overhyped.

A Breakfast Haven with Unbeatable Flavor! I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen on a rainy morning, and let me tell you, it was a breakfast dream come true! The moment I stepped inside, seeking refuge from the rain, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the perfect mood for a delightful morning. Being my first time, I was pleasantly overwhelmed by the extensive menu options. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly "The Big Breakfast Sandwich." This masterpiece is a true breakfast champion, offering a customizable combination of 2 eggs cooked to perfection, a choice of bacon, sausage, or ham, gooey cheese, and the option of toast or bagel. To top it all off, it comes served with a crispy and flavorful potato pancake, adding a comforting touch to the rainy day. The ambiance at Manny's is a delightful blend of comfort and nostalgia. The cozy seating and friendly staff create an atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. Whether you're catching up with friends, enjoying a solo breakfast, or having a family outing, Manny's provides the perfect setting for any occasion, especially on a rainy day when the comforting aroma of delicious breakfast feels like a warm embrace. The attention to detail in the presentation of the food is noteworthy. My Big Breakfast Sandwich was not only delicious but also a visual feast. Each ingredient was fresh, and the flavors harmonized perfectly, creating a breakfast experience that was perfect for the cozy, rainy morning setting. Manny's Cafeteria & Delicatessen has won my heart with its incredible breakfast offerings, especially the unforgettable Big Breakfast Sandwich, making it the perfect spot for a cozy and satisfying breakfast on a rainy morning. If you're a breakfast enthusiast like me, especially on gloomy days, this is a must-visit spot. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu. Manny's, you've earned a loyal customer!

An interesting place with interesting foods. The Reuben sandwich is good. Loads of flavor and crunch but it is pricey. Just over $24 for the sandwich alone is asking a lot. Spent just over $34 altogether for the sandwich, beverage, and cookie is a bit pricey. Lots of space here to find a table. Also they have a bakery in the back with merchandise available to purchase. I'd say come and visit. It's quite an experience

The deli meats are so delicious, the potato pancake as well. The Reuben is a must try and it's a great spot to eat old school traditional delicatessen. Highly recommend to eat the reuben with the thousand islands dressing, and lots of mustard.

Great selection of food. I've had Schwartz and Katz and Manny takes it down. The thin sliced pastrami is the game changer and actually has flavor vs Schwartz or Katz.

Great to see Manny's going strong in their 81st year of business. Liked seeing all the history on the walls. Friendly service behind the counter and on the floor.

Great five star corned beef and pastrami meat sandwiches. Same level or slightly better than NYC Katz or 2nd Ave Deli. Meat is not salty - THANK YOU. Only short fall, Swiss cheese quality below standard. Suggest using Swiss emmental cheese for Reubens. AND also using less sugar in the coleslaw

This restaurant is huge. There is also a bakery-candy shop attached. The food was great. Lots of different options. They also have breakfast during the weekends. They have Pepsi products. Diet Pepsi and Pepsi zero. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back oh and their challah bread looked delicious.

It’s a Chicago institution. You must go once in your life. The sandwich is HUGE. Next time I’ll do 1/2 sandwich and the Matzah ball soup. We had a fun time. It’s not cheap, but worth it.

Excellent, as always. I’ve been going here for about 35 years, Thoe this is my first back in four years, after moving out of the crime ridden city. And it is good as I remember. Also, one of the few places that carry sweet-and-sour cabbage soup.

Excellent place. I particularly liked the matzah ball soup. The brisket sandwich was good too. The place has parking around back, if you can't find a street spot. I also liked the vintage claw machine game; that isn't something you see often. This place isn't cheap, but it's worth it.

I love me a Jewish deli and Manny’s is a Chicago institution. I had the Four Meats sandwich which was impressive and great to share between two. The Matzo Ball in Chicken Soup also feeds the soul, especially in the winter. Service was a bit curt at the sandwich counter but overall a good place to visit.

Probably the best cafeteria (canteen) in Chicago, with home style food. Almost like a restaurant, but in a better atmosphere. Great vegetable soup, beef stew, desserts, fruit, soda drinks, wine, beer... Great food for decent prices. Also for takeaway.

Manny’s Deli is recommended in every list of must-go places and lives out to that expectation. A real deli as you would expect. I tried the Corned Beef and Pastrami, meats were out of this world. There are many dishes that seem worth trying. Service was attentive and kind. Definitely another must stop when in town.

Good deli sandwiches and the other food selections looked really good too. A bit on the pricey side but we loved the potato pancakes, and really enjoyed the red velvet cake for dessert. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Once again, Obama was right when he said Manny’s was one of his Chicago favorites. We tried both the pastrami and corned beef, which were served on rye bread. We also tried a potato pancake and the Matza Ball soup. There were so many great options that we just need to keep going back again and again. The location is also a block from the Chicago Fire Academy and museum.

This is not for vegetarians. One sandwich has enough meat for a uk Sunday lunch for a family of four. I loved it, had half a Reuben the other half saved for later. Turkey pastrami very spicy. It’s a place only found in the USA. The decor is all American, presidents Obama and Clinton and Secretary Clinton all have been there. Fabulous. 30 us for sandwich and bottomless ice tea.

Huge space. Reuben sandwich was not bad, not good. It's big but overpriced anyway. The matzo ball and broth were very cheap, artificial and not tasty. Potato Hash Brown not tasty. I take bakery treats "rogaliki" at home and was disappointed. La Colombe coffee made very bitter. So, now I have experience...

Thinking if I should give it a 4 or 5. The place deserves a 5 if I consider places to eat in Chicago as it definitely is one of the best restaurants and the best deli in Chicago. But if I consider only the top delis, having been to all three Katz's (NY - East coast), Langer's (LA - West coast) and Manny's (Chicago - Midwest), I rate it below Katz's (New York) so may be a 4. Eventually I decided to give it a 5 since it's above Langers (LA), sorry LA, you guys are third on the list.

Manny's was absolutely incredible! We went before 2 pm on Sunday and were able to order from their breakfast and normal lunch menu! - The challah french toast was heavenly. Can't wait to try the babka french toast. -We did the half sandwich/half soup: the pastrami was very tender & delicious. The bread was soft, not dry, and did not fall apart. Katz's is famous, but everyone knows their bread is terrible, so Manny's wins here for the perfect pastrami sandwich. -The potato pancake was the best I ever had, a thick cakey-ness but not too dense. And yum! - I tried the Kishke (sausage of matzo with beef broth) with gravy and WOW! It was so cozy, homey, and delicious. - The sweet and sour cabbage soup was delightful (I would prefer it a bit more tart but very cozy/soothing). - The only knock was that the pastries were lacking: black & white was hard/not good, Boston cream was fine, cheesecake I didn't enjoy, and Rugalach was decent. BUT the otherwise experience was perfect and the food made me so happy I still give this place 5/5. - And of course, wonderful service! I love me a Jewish deli & and cafeteria, and people who complain about the price have not frequented at many and do not understand the price of quality meats/kosher food/comfort soul food. This place truly fed my soul!

Lucky Find on drive though Chicago, just off Expressway. Felt the Chicago History everywhere. Big big Business , I had a open mine and got the stew because I love the look of it in the case. I do the same thing at meat market’s back home . Don’t make your mine up until you see the case. Prices were fair for eating out. Thanks

Quite possibly one of the Top 5 Jewish Delis I've ever been to in the US. The Hot Pastrami was piled high and could tell was very fresh. Got nostalgia from all the food groups. I also noticed customers getting healthy portions of all the sides which looked good as well. Staff are friendly and keep the cafeteria style serving fun. Highly recommend going to this place if you have the chance. There's also a bakery attached too if you need something sweet afterwards.

Kreplach we're eh. Not much stuffing mostly dough and pretty tastless. Chicken soup was very very salty and I like mine salty Kishkek was meh too. Not much flavor. Corn beef and pastrami were just ok. Too dry and pastrami was tough. Neither spiced enough. And nothing that was hot was…hot. Pickles were weird, more like jarred Vlassic pickles than deli pickles. The best thing I had was a can of Dr. Brown’s Cel-Ray. Very disappointed

We were listening to a NPR show call Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me. A guest of the show mentioned this restaurant and how they were a regular. Since we were planning a trip to the area we figured why not try it out. Did not disappoint. Prices were reasonable and food was great. I had the beef stew and it was delicious. Huge pieces of beef and fresh vegetables.

Can't say enough a out how great Manny's is. I got a roast beef sandwich and my mom got the reuben. We could have feasted for a week off those two sandwiches, there was so much meat! Th e caramel cake.was.exacrly what the doctor ordered and was just as sweet as every employee working there. I had a nice time just ordering my takeout.

The staff were great. Had ample free parking. The sandwich itself , I consider it over priced, $24 is a bit steep. Don't have any urges to go back.

Having had Langer's (in LA) and Katz (NYC), Manny's was disappointing. I got the brisket sandwich, others got pastrami and the beef stew. Beef stew was very good (flavorful and tender beef). The brisket was bland. Pastrami was meh. The best complement I can give was: "at least it's not salty..." $55 for 2 sandwiches with potato pancakes and 1 soda. ~$120 for 4 ppl.

I love a good Jewish deli. Manny's is a Chicago classic. You can always spot a guy who's getting paid to sit idling in a truck 47.5 hours a week, and sometimes spot the guy who's paying him. If you have to look at reviews for Manny's, you're not supposed to be there. You should have been taken there by your boss, who was taken there by his boss, who was taken there by his (as in, fully owned) alderman. That said, with the pandemic slow-down, food quality has suffered a bit. Nothing as fresh as it used to be, nobody piling just a little extra pastrami onto your sandwich while giving you a wink and a smile.

Amazing portions of food. Had a plate of the Kinder meat which included the three or four kinds of delicious meats on bread. So good, and the homemade mustard is great on the sandwich.

Amazing food and super courteous staff! Been looking forward to trying this place for a very long time and it didn't disappoint! Free parking behind the restaurant.

I’m not sure how I went 30 years without this Chicago institution in my life. I went for the first time two weeks ago, ordering online. I got a delicious half corned beef sandwich and a bowl of matzah ball soup. I loved it so much I went back a week later with my wife. I skipped the line by ordering online (pastrami sandwich and matzah ball soup this time). I can’t wait to return and eat at Manny’s next time. Absolutely sensational food and atmosphere.

Chicago must. Also a hidden local gem. They do have free parking lot in pack - real big! Food is great, prices are a bit higher … but meat is now higher , so that makes sense. Staff is VERY friendly, you would think an old joint like this is “no nonsense” but very warm and welcoming - even to newbies.
