I’m genuinely impressed with this place. First of all, I was impressed how clean the restaurant is. They even have white (!) tablecloths on the table. Secondly, the staff is very polite and friendly. And, of course, the food was very good. We are quite discerning eaters but we were very pleased with the food in the restaurant. Fresh, flavourful, sweet & sour - great halal Chinese food. Will definitely come back!

Food was tasty. Very expensive for the amount and quality of food you're going to get. We ordered Mongolian beef which barely had ANY beef in there. Mostly onions. Very disappointed we paid $23 for the Mongolian onion (we called it lol). Chicken in hakka noodles had so much fat and garbage that we felt like going to some fancy restaurant and pay the same get good bang for buck! Usmania restaurant and Usmania Chinese both have this issue. They cheap out a lot on their food both quality and quantity wise and prices are outrageous still. I don't think we're ever going back there again. Plus don't recommend this restaurant at all. There are a lot of other restaurants on devon offers lot more. 2 adults 1 toddler 1 infant

Don’t get your expectations high here. If you are expecting same quality of food like the Usmania fine dining, you will be disappointed (like us). Food was either too salty or oily. We tried multiple dishes but the fried rice stand out.

My name is Noman and today January 14th , Sunday I ordered food from Usmania Chinese through Uber delivery. I also ordered Spring chicken. I want to tell to the higher management of Usmania restaurant that if anybody order food delivery to their home so kindly send freshly made items. The spring chicken I received is literally looking like two days old. There is no chicken in it beside the crispy thing, which is also not eatable. When I call to Usmania Chinese the person on front desk misbehaved instead of listening the complain. Are you guys hire such type of people who put bad impression on Usmania restaurant image. Pls tell your employees not to deliver bad food if order from home . I than talked to Kamran who is very professional and supportive and always listen to the customers. He is excellent at customer service .

Extremely displeased with Usmania Chinese takeout experience. I am compelled to express my extreme dissatisfaction with today's to-go order we placed at Usmania Chinese. Despite spending nearly $200, the food quality was shockingly poor. The flavors were bland, and it was evident that the dishes had been prepared without care. This was not the authentic Usmania Chinese we were expecting. Moreover, the packaging was subpar, leading to spillage and mess upon arrival. For the significant amount spent, we anticipated a much better experience. Unfortunately, this to-go order was a total letdown, and we are hesitant to consider Usmania Chinese for future takeout needs. Please do not be fooled by the pictures I have attached. Though the food looks good, it definitely was not. I do not recommend Usmania Chinese to anyone. When I called to complain, Iqbal, their front desk host, offered a 20% money back to finish the matter, when I denied it, he said take 30% back, I wasn't sure if I was dealing with customer service or a sabzi mandi.

A complete disaster. Nothing positive. I had never made any bad reviews for any one but after eating here it drastically changed my mind. I was on a trip for a conference and we were 5 people and not a single person liked it. I think they should find some good Indian or Pakistani cook. Sorry I cant say any thing better. Value of money zero rating if I would have opportunity then below 0

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant, and I want to start by addressing the management. It seems like the employees here don't care much about the business. When I arrived, the young lady at the front desk was more focused on blasting music and taking personal calls than attending to customers. We politely asked her to lower the volume twice, but our request fell on deaf ears. I’m not even kidding I felt like we were sitting a club. This lack of acknowledgment was frustrating. Now, regarding the food, it was below average at best. It felt like someone had just reheated pre-made dishes and served them to us. If you're running a restaurant, you should be putting more effort into the quality of your food. To make matters worse, while we were still eating, a food server approached us at 9:45 PM and asked us to pay our bill because they were closing the restaurant. We hadn't even finished our meal, and this rushed service left a sour taste in our mouths. After this disappointing experience, I checked the reviews and found that many others had similar complaints. I won't be returning to this place, and I'd rather give my business to any other deserving restaurant in the Devon area.

Had a wonderful experience here. Stopped at this restaurant from a recommendation from a family friend. Location, staff, food EVERYTHING was amazing. Food came quick and was super delicious. The host, Fatima, was excellent and took great care of us. She was quick to accommodate us even though it was very busy. She also gave us great recommendations of food items. Will definitely return.

Saw low ratings of this Chinese restaurant, still decided to visit but at the end found that the restaurant deserved those low ratings . Ordered sesame chicken, Hakka noodles and egg foo Yong. Firstly, although I like more salty food but still salt was too high even for me as if the shef put salt two times. Besides salt, Food was not tasty at all. The food was missing that trade mark Chinese taste and was not tasty at all as typically Chinese food is. Found this restaurant to be a typical tourist restaurant which doesn’t pay much attention on quality of food and service since the tourists will still make it viable because it will not matter to this restaurant that they won’t visit again as new tourists will visit. Really disappointed!

The chicken is dark and tasteless. I ordered Manchurian Chicken and it was very disappointing due to taste, overcooked, and most likely leftovers. So sad with the prices that they are charging, at least give us what we deserve. I would give a zero star. Not planning on going back there again. Sorry people for my honest opinions !

It’s better than its rating suggests. Service was pretty quick, food was good and plenty. They could work on making the place look cleaner. We shared a beef fried rice, spring chicken, and a faluda. Spring chicken was the best.

Love the halal option of Chinese food. My personal favorite is chef special fried rice with any kind of meat. Hard to find a parking around this area.

3 stars because the food was good and the service was great — but they won't even give you water for free— charging $2 (according to the menu pictured) for the cheapest bottled water (Nestlé pure life) there is. Edit, response to owner: I've added a photo of your very own menu as proof of your water price. Additionally, when we were at Usmania and we asked for tap water, it was not available because they no longer serve it :)

When visiting another state you always expect the unexpected, same thing happened to us in Usmania. We arrived at the restaurant 30 mins before closing and they were not offering Dine In at that time. When our server “Fatima” found that we are from another state she not only made a exception for us to let us dine in but also recommended us the dishes that are best selling. We really liked the Desi Chinese flavor of food which we only get in desi places 😊. Wish Usmania and Fatima all the best.

Hot and sour soup could have been better. Mango lasso should have ice in it. Rest of the food with sesame chicken, shrimp, Kung Pao chicken were good but the real treat was non Chinese dish pesawari goat karahi and matka goat biryani. We had Nepali family eating with us and they enjoyed the food as well. Would certainly recommend. Kashmiri chai and matka chai not really worth the $$. Reason for 4 stars.

I stopped in for the first time to get take-out, and I was first impressed by the ambience. It’s a pretty nice, relaxing environment. The customer service at the counter was pretty good. Their menu is nicely organized, and pretty easy to navigate. The selection is great, but having tasted the food now, it’s not quite worth the prices. I tried veg fried rice, and it had almost no flavor. I also tried two Shrimp curries, and they were decent, but definitely not worth the cost. Overall, the experience was nice. They even pack everything in a nice reusable bag. I just personally think it’s a bit overpriced.

Great food, the Manchurian chicken is the best I've ever had. The service is great and the owner is super friendly, definitely recommend going here for good Chinese food or if you can only eat Halal, this is the best way to experience Chinese cuisine. Inside it is a really nice restaurant looks recently renovated. We came to visit from Maryland but next time we are in Chicago we will make sure to stop by again!

This is NOT the Usmania that it used to be 10 years ago. Even back then, honestly most of the entree's tasted the same except for the sesame chicken which was half decent. We thought we would give it one more try. We ordered the chicken lollipops and chicken rangoon. Both of these were extremely oily. It was only drenched in oil but it all tasted like oil. We also ordered the vegetable fried rice and sesame chicken. The taste has completely changed and it was just disgusting! I dont know if they got a new chef or what but this was by far the worst food I've had in Chicago. I still wanted to have a glimmer of hope and so got their newly introduced kulfis (Falooda). I have no idea how they managed to mess that up to. It was $5 for a small little glass container full of flavored iced. It has the nastiest texture literally like eating wet sand. I hate wasting food and I just could NOT take more than 3 small bites and just left it. This review is more of a reminder for myself to never come to this restaurant again.

Leaving 1 star. This is my honest review about the restaurant. We tried egg fried rice, Manchurian chicken, Mongolian beef, chicken lollipops. Out of all the food, Mongolian beef was something that a bit good. Each and every food item was full of oil. We asked for extra spicy. Instead of extra spice, they probably just added the whole bottle of oil! For the price that we paid, the food quality could have been more better. I don’t think they are overpriced, I think they just don’t care about the food quality. Not coming back unless they improve quality of the food or make changes in kitchen management.

An amazing option for halal Chinese food. Staff is super courteous and friendly. The speed of food bring brought to your table after ordering is very impressive. I tried the hot and sour soup, chicken fried rice and beef Manchurian. Then later on order the matka chai (tea in a clay pot). Food was delicious. Each entree serves more than 2 people. Tea is a must try.
