We entered the restaurant at 7:35P and were seated immediately. It was pretty crowded in there but plenty of room to move about to our table. The atmosphere was a mixture of sports bar and restaurant with music playing and plenty of games on the big screens. You could still hold a conversation with your party. Our server was incredibly accommodating and made very helpful recommendations regarding appetizers and drinks. The frozen mango margarita was delicious! It was made to order - not from a margarita machine. We skipped appetizers and got right to the main event - dinner! We ordered a steak chimichanga and a beef chimichanga. Both came with chihuahua sauce, rice, beans, sour cream, and guacamole. The food came out quick, piping hot and did not disappoint. The presentation, flavor, and freshness exceeded our expectations. There was so much food neither of us were able to finish our plates so we boxed it up to go. Lunch (or a midnight snack :) will be delicious! This restaurant is highly recommended for good food and good vibes.

Intimate spot with friendly service and extremely swift service. I appreciated that they had the game on mute with traditional music on as well. Food was hot and delicious. We ordered a sangria pitcher and that was it!!! Definitely recommend.

I wanted some really good, traditional Mexican food and was surprised to find this place close to where Iw as staying (I was at the Hampton Inn McCormick Center). I was also surprised they had an extensive vegan menu, not jsut a few items I ordered takeout: vegan enchiladas (seitan ground beef w/ both roja and verde sauces), a beef taco on corn tortilla, a chorizo & egg taco on flour tortilla, chips & salsa, and sopapillas for dessert. Pickup went smoothly and food was just about ready when I got there. All the food was packaged great for carry out and was piping hot after my 10-15 min walk back (and ice creeam was in cold container). Everything tasted great, especially the vegan enchiladas! The price was right and I will seek La Cantina out again if I stay in the area. No complaints or issues. A+

This Mexican Restaurant in the South Loop is a small and beautiful place, but if he changes his cook, the dishes on the menu can be more delicious. It is disrespectful to include the components of the tip as a mandatory 20% in the total price without being asked.

In town for the Lions game at Soldier field and we had some time to kill before our hotel room was ready, and thought…… margaritas? The answering was an overwhelming YES!!!!! So we made our way by foot & pulled up to a table & were greeted immediately. Service. I’m not sure what defines good service for you, for me it’s when I feel like I’m at the servers house and they are being a great host. Once I have drinks in front of me, and I can forget I’m at a restaurant as a patron not an employee, is when I enjoy myself the most. This restaurant had great food, service & vibe. Margaritas were strong, fool had soul & this lunch was a moment our family will remember for decades. Thanks for your hospitality & keep up the good work.

Stumbled across this gem while visiting South Loop. They have an entire vegan menu, including amazing chimichangas! I also recommend the tequila pear spritzer 😎 We had the patio to ourselves, which is on a quiet sidewalk. The inside is small, but newly remodeled and very welcoming.

Great service and vibes with affordable prices. The Michelada was full of flavor and huge for $12. The tacos meal for $14 with 3 tacos, rice and beans.

Do. Not. Skip. This was the best food we had in our 5 days in Chicago. Dinner under $20, exceptionally accommodating of dietary restrictions. Presentation was jaw dropping, atmosphere was relaxed.

Ordered take out. It was prepared super fast, packaged nicely and came with extra salsas! The vegan burrito was massive and delicious. Even the "mini" quesadilla was literally 2 full size quesadillas. The guacamole and Pico were great too. Love that they have a full vegan menu!

I’ve come to La Cantina Grill a few times, and usually, the food is spot on. This last time I went, the food just didn’t hit the same, but it was still good. We got mini chimichangas, regular chimichanga, mole veggie enchiladas, and veggie fajitas, and all of them were good. I also got the stuffed quesadillas, but they messed up our order twice, which was frustrating. The staff was super apologetic about it and fixed it, but it just took so long for them to get it right. The restaurant is pretty small and gets very loud during prime lunch and dinner times - I’d recommend making a reservation! I’ll be back since the food is excellent, but not during prime time!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Spent a week in Chicago and this was BY FAR the best food we had. Service was great and friendly while the atmosphere was authentic. Great whole in the wall!

First time going and I loved it! Food was so authentic and flavorful and staff was quick. We ordered chimichanga and enchiladas and tamales and margaritas. The music was good and the plates were plenty full! It was a little tight because it's not a big place, but the food is very satisfying, so once I was eating that did not bother me. The pico was Really Good!!! Prices were decent! I would definitely recommend it to others!

Very pretty mid sized restaurant with great staff and fantastic food! The best part is the abundance of vegan and veterinarian options! Great margaritas. All around a fantastic experience. We will definitely be back

Love the extensive vegan menu here! There isn't just one protein option, but several. And the food was delicious. I got the vegan beef quesadillas. I would have loved to check it out at a time that I could have tried their margaritas.

Vey cool place to have lunch and dinner. My fav close it close to my job. They have both in and outdoor seating. Mini chimichanga are my go to (steak). The meat has so much flavor. Today i decided to be bold and try something else. This was the chicken flunta. So crispy and soft at the same time. Gauc taste like it’s missing lime but not bad. The chips and salsa is also my fav. The chips are the perfect texture. Crispy but not hard to the point where they hurt the roof of your mouth.

The food was great I ordered chicken quesadillas and Malibu rum martini. I only gave 3 stars because we waited at least 15 mins before a waitress approached us. We had outdoor dining and it was extremely hot too, with no fan.

Came here for lunch and started with traditional chips and salsa. The chips were ok, on the weak side as they couldn't hold the salsa when pulling for a dip. Salsa was just ok too. I went with the chicken enchiladas. The enchiladas were kinda bland ngl was expecting a little better flavor from it thou. 7.2. The drinks were good got the house special margaritas 7.6. The customer service was mid too, wasn't bad or anything just regular. Cool spot and it does have a little patio as well...but overall 7.4

Fantastic! We ordered deliver for the first time in September and it was a great experience. The food arrived hot and it was not tossed about. We ordered directly from the restaurant via phone. Every special request such as corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas and sour cream in the side were followed. We ordered the chili relleno, enchiladas, and flautas. We enjoyed every bite! We ordered one meal with double rice and one meal with double beans because we don’t like it when they mash up the rice and beans but saw the containers separate the rice and beans which is awesome!

A great experience for a neighborhood restaurant. It's one of the few places that give great portions for the price. I had a great lunch with a friend we enjoyed the ceviche, she had the steak and shrimp fajitas and I had the chicken taquitos. It came quick and had a great flavor, my only compliant is that the spiciest salsa they had was pretty muted (wish it was hotter) but that's just imo 😅. If you're in the area definitely check them out. Oh and before I forget get the sangria, they are definitely not shy with the drinks.

Wonderful atmosphere and staff was very greeting along with super friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. The chips and salsa were delicious. Wife ordered the chicken tinga tacos and I ordered the Al Pastor tacos recommended by the staff. They were superb and very happy I did! We both washed it down with a total of 4 large margaritas made with Don Julio that tasted wonderful. If ever back in Chicago will definitely revisit. Obviously with the alcohol and meal pushing well into a $100+ for two.

Incredible chips and salsa. Service is exceptionally fast. In fact, the fastest I have ever had in any restaurant. Extensive Vegan and vegetarian menu. Good margaritas. Sadly no beer on draft. Very good flan. In fact one of the best places to eat near McCormick convention center.

My family and I had lunch here after church on Sunday. I ordered a chicken burrito, which was really good. Unfortunately, I developed food poisoning, which is why the rating is a four. The rest of the people in my party did not get sick, which was great. Our server was also very attentive and accommodating. When I visit Chicago again, I’ll make sure to stop by.

Good Mexican food, decent fare. Veggie fajitas bit undone for my liking but still tasted great. Small restaurant but, nice decor and ambience. Don't forget to ask salsa picante, spicy and good. Would definitely go again.

I absolutely LOVE this place! I just recently went there for the 1st time and I’ve been there a total of 4x already!! The food is fast and delicious while the drinks are strong and tasty. Make sure when you dine in ask for Linda!!! She is nothing but amazing!!! Her service is Impeccable and she treats all her customers like family!!! She’s definitely one of the main reasons why I keep coming back! She’s the BEST!!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Great Mexican food with an excellent selection of drinks and cocktails. Service was very friendly and the vibe/aesthetics were amazing. The sauces and guacamole were great! The food we ordered came out fairly quickly. We had a great time and looking forward to visiting again!

Great service, food is good and reasonable. The Chicago Marathon is going on today and I was pleased that they allowed the spectators use their bathroom. I was out and decided to come down and watch The Bears game and get a bite to eat, the owner tried to accommodate me by looking for that game but it starts at 3:30 instead so I watch the Packers and Bengals until half time, while enjoying my meal . They have plenty of Monitors to watch at any seating position. I've eaten here before and the service has always been great. The food is good also. It was the letting the spectators use the washrooms for me that I give them 5 stars Always like to observe before I give a review.

Very friendly and lovely staff. My group was in a hurry that day, and our food came out so quick which was so appreciated. Everything we ordered was delicious. We were so grateful for the amount of vegan options. I'm from a small town with no vegan restaurants, so this was so exciting. Thanks to the staff here we had a great time. I definitely plan on coming back next time I'm in Chicago! :)
