This place is an absolute gem, we will definitely return any chance we get when we are in town. The atmosphere is unbelievable, and the chairs are very comfortable. The Allis was a delight for brunch. The leek and potato quiche was much better than I expected, one of the better quiches I've ever had. The mushroom toast was good as well, the only tiny negative is that the hot mushrooms melted the herb cream cheese, so the toast was a bit soggy. The coffee options are good, and the service was friendly. All in all, The Allis has quickly become one of our favorite places in Chicago.

This is a nice spot to indulge in an enjoyable, luxurious afternoon tea experience for groups large and small. The minimum price is $55/person, which is steep but not atypical for the West Loop area and actually on the lower end for an afternoon tea experience in Chicago. My group of 6 had a 2pm Saturday reservation, which is their earliest slot. They were still setting up when we arrived and we weren’t able to get seated until ~2:30. Despite the slower start, the service was attentive and friendly. The inside is quite lavishly decorated. There’s a decent variety of tea to choose from, and they come in sachets and intricate tea kettles and cups. They also brought out 2 carousels of snacks, ranging from finger sandwiches to pastries to desserts, which taken together, was filling enough for a little lunch. The food items, especially the desserts, were quite delicious. Overall, it was a worthwhile experience that I would do again on rare occasions. — Price (relative to peers): 4.1/5 Food: 4.2/5 Ambience: 4.8/5 Service: 4.5/5 Overall Value: 4.2/5

The food here is AMAZING! We got the mushroom toast, avocado toast, and the pancakes. I think about this breakfast at least once a week. The lattes were also pretty good. The plates are so aesthetically pleasing and cute. They match the ambiance so well. I can’t wait to spend more time here☕️

We came in for drinks and were immediately impressed by the stylish and cozy atmosphere. The low lighting and music selection set the perfect vibe for a night out with friends or a romantic date. The drinks themselves were absolutely delicious, and the bartender clearly knew what they were doing. The menu offers a great selection of classic and unique drinks, each expertly crafted and presented. However, I do agree that The Allis is on the more expensive side. While the overall experience is certainly memorable and enjoyable, the cost of the drinks can add up quickly. Despite this, I would still recommend The Allis to anyone looking for a chic and stylish night out. The atmosphere is unbeatable, the drinks are exceptional, and the service is top-notch. Just be prepared to spend a bit more than you might at other establishments. Value - expensive Ambiance - is VIBE Service - great Taste - okay Overall - I recommend

Amazing atmosphere. It was perfect for casual, social or business meeting. Had very upscale look without an imposing uptight demeaner of a high end eatry. The place was very warm and welcoming The staff was very friendly and respectful The food was delicious and beautifully presented. A short menu but sufficient to cater for multiple likings. Ricotta pancake highly recommended but portion size is too big. Good for sharing or for BIG Appetite. I could finish less than half although I tried a lot 🙂 Will visit again when I am in Downtown Chicago in future.

I recently visited The Allis located in SoHo House Chicago and while the decor and ambiance were great, my overall experience left something to be desired. The reason I'm giving this place a 6.5/10 star rating is because of the "arrogance in the air" that I felt throughout my visit. My Girlfriend and I were first-time visitors (as well and potential member prospects) and unfortunately, we were treated as burdensome and inconvenient by the staff. It felt as though they were making it clear that unless you're a Soho member, the service was stuffy and low quality. This double standard in methodology that the staff treated their patrons with was disappointing and really put a damper on the experience. However, the coffee itself was solid. The espresso was an 8.5/10 and was very enjoyable. The cold brew was an 8/10 and had floral tasting notes, which was a nice touch. Despite the solid coffee, I don't think I'll be returning to The Allis any time soon due to the negative experience with the staff. Overall, if you're looking for a place with great decor, ambiance and don't mind the possibility of being treated with a hint of arrogance, The Allis may be worth a visit. But for me, the way we were treated overshadowed the good aspects of the place.

The food was very delicious. Yet the tea was a fantastic time that couldn't be overlooked. It's worth getting it with some cream and honey over coffee. What actually amazed me most was the staff and how well they adapted to each situation. It was nice to be accommodated and watch as others were helped given how busy it was. I was here for a birthday celebration and they were on top of it.

It is a great breakfast/brunch place. The hostess and waiters were very nice and the ambiance was great. There's two seating areas, the first floor and the second. The first floor felt like a hotel lobby cafe while the second floor was definitely more lively restaurant setting. The food came out quick, we got a egg sandwich, cruffin, and a side of breakfast potatoes. All was very flavorful and reasonably priced. The juice on the other hand was a little bit of a let down. The "House Pressed" juice was prebottled not fresh. That was my fault by not being aware of difference. Other than that I will definitely be coming back.

This is a very prestigious place - great for meetings, high tea, and for a pampering spa day. I met with a friend for high tea and sandwiches. The whole display they brought out was simply beautiful and the atmosphere is elegant and artsy. I recommend dressing for the occasion as you might feel a bit out of place if you go too casual. The staff was very professional, friendly, and helpful. One thing that would be nice, is if they gave an option for more sandwiches or more deserts on the tower with high tea, but everything was amazing so I'm not complaining. I hope to take friends here when they visit - they just take it a step up and I felt so taken care of.

Cozy. Comforting. Atmospheric. This place is a beautiful and peaceful setting. It allover has an intimate feeling while being an open space concept. Definitely a great place for a date, sitting in a corner by yourself to read and eat, or just a calming morning or peace. The bar is a self and open seating section that has its own charm and amazing view of liquor. The fresh mint tea is a spearmint that offers a soothing and refreshing sip workout being too hot. You can almost drink it right when it's served without issues. The Eggs Royale is a delicious and rich bite. The hollandaise is so silky! The English muffin is toasted perfectly. The French toast is a good 1.5 maybe even 2 inches per the two slices. So filling with the apple butter. It looks like they have a rotating menu so it's very much worth coming back for something new.

Came in for lunch on a weekday with my wife to meet up with some friends. Noticed a very limited seating, so I was glad we made a reservation. The indoor seating is full of couches and sofas for guests and gives off the lounge room vibes. There is another area located in the back for dinner which displays a more intimate and restaurant feel. When you first come in you'll notice a podium with someone to greet you, but don't be fooled as they aren't for the restaurant. The real greeter for the restaurant is tucked away in the west corner of the lobby by the dinner area. The staff are quite friendly and warm for the most part. Typically easy to get a hold of, but can disappear for a bit as they have to also go to the other side of the building by the bar as other guests can be seated there due to the lack of space. Food and drinks are on the pricier side for what I'm used to in the west loop so we opted for the lunch special. The sandwich of the day was a sliced steak sandwich and it was divine. Acidity from the pickled onions, bitterness from the kale and the steak well seasoned. The salad wasn't as bad as well, tasted typical, so I might try the soup next time. I noticed someone else ordered it and it appeared to have the golden color of a squash or turmeric with diced carrot and onions.

Cute quiet place to have a drink and just relax. There are no dogs allowed. Someone brought in their dogs while we were having a drink and they got escorted out 😬. We had a couple of drinks and they were all top notch. Honestly my favorite drinks that we had on our Fulton market trip. Make sure to have a drink or 2 here. I will say I would have liked the service to be more attentive. They weren’t busy but they were prepping the bar for dinner so take that as you will.

We came here for my best friends birthday & expected the service to be similar to tea at The Drake; it was not. You are only limited to what they bring out on the 3 tiered trays and they will not bring more food after that. There were 7 of us & they only brought 2 tiered trays of food; this was nowhere near enough food for our table. The food that we did get was good. You do not get a refill on tea, just an FYI. We ended up paying $7 for 3 more tiny slices of sandwiches, which was ridiculously priced. Our waitress did not check on us for more than 20-30 minutes at a time, to the point where I had to walk to the cafe area to ask for more water for the table. If you are looking for a true classy tea experience, I recommend going to The Drake because they bring out unlimited trays of food & unlimited tea with your tea service. Overall we had a good time & the atmosphere was nice, but after 2 bottles of prosecco & only 2 trays of food amongst 7 people, we paid around $102 each for our experience & IMO it was not worth $102.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Came here to grab breakfast on a weekday. The place was half empty and one of the waitresses watched me walk in and then proceeded to ignore me. She was standing 2ft next to me and could have asked how she can help. She didn’t. Since no one helped me I walked up to the bar and sat down. Another 10min passed until someone came up to me and gave me a menu to order when I asked for it. Again, the place was not busy at all. They simply ignored me. The same thing happened to another person who sat down next to me. Once I ordered and got my food, they didn’t check in a single time nor did they refill my water. Very disappointing and I certainly will not come back.

My friends and I went to the Allis today for the afternoon tea and it was frankly a disappointing experience. The space itself is beautiful and I've been wanting to try the tea service here but I would not recommend it. The service was awful - the hostess was a bit rude and my friend had to get up a couple of times to find a waiter to take our order. I was surprised when they delivered the tea itself: it was one tea bag in a small kettle. I would expect a place like the Soho house to offer premium, loose leaf teas - it's a whole different taste. You use teabags out of convenience. A high tea spot should not be using them. It's also a brand you can buy from Whole Foods - another surprise. We had to get up several times to ask for additional water and even our bill. My friends and I joked that we should just walk out because they wouldn't even notice - our waiter never came over once to check on us. I would be a little less irritated if they were slammed but it was not busy at all. If you have never had afternoon tea, I would recommend The Drake or Four Seasons - the tea is much better, the service is great, like it should be, and you're paying about the same price. It's a shame because the space itself is so beautiful.

This place is very distinctive; it features gorgeous chandeliers, a retro aesthetic, and absolutely excellent scones and truffle fries. The service and setting is amazing, and the chairs are quite cozy. We will definitely return.

Soho house is a hidden gem in the west loop. If you’re not a member you can still visit the Allis for a great drink or lunch. This particular morning I enjoyed a wonderfully crafted flat white. Stop in and check it out for great service and a really fun European vibe.

My friend and I are amazed by the environment, very chill and dedicate place. Nice place to catch up with friends. For the food, I ordered smoked salmon, it is an average dish. I wanted to order Benedict since I saw someone had it on yelp. Turns out they will change the menu around very season, so not everything you see on google or yelp gonna be there.

A great place for lunch or brunch with your cool friends in the west loop. The restaurant is located inside the SoHo House, so expect to see some young and hype people floating around. The menu is not extensive, but offer some pretty good options. The Brussels sprouts were amazing, you should order it as side regardless of what you are having as main course!

Came here for brunch on a Sunday around 12pm and was able to get seated right away outside without waiting. I absolutely love the vibe and decor of this place! We got the truffle omelette, which came with a side salad. It was nice, although I wasn’t mind blown. I would try the shakshuka next time.

Loved high tea here. Went with mom, love the ambiance, mid day you have the place to yourself, which is great. The finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and preserves, and the mini pastries were so good. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend for a lazy afternoon.

One of the few places open on Christmas, there was no freshness in all the cakes and sandwiches we had for afternoon tea. The tea we had was amazing other than the food. Good service

Beautiful place and the food was delicious! Service was outstanding. Our waitress recommended the cauliflower wrap dish and it was delicious. I believe they have intelligencia coffee products so they were all very good.

First time here, and the atmosphere of the place was quite nice. There weren't too many people eating like we did, so I assume it is a great place to have quiet semi-private meetings or to get your work done.

Well the ramen place was an hour wait and I thought I was looking for a place chicken shop when I entered the main door. I accidentally went to the left and up and ended up in the Allis upstairs dining area. I decided to go with it and had the beef short ribs with mashed potatoes and boy was it a good choice. Not to mention their happy hour which I got the dry martini with too shelf greygoose. Really enjoyed the building the setup and the vibe that I got from up there. It was a classy place.

I had breakfast here with my wife last month. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere. Decor was unique and creative. I had the Allis Breakfast and a mimosa. My wife had the quinoa breakfast bowl. Both were delicous! Thanks for a great experience!

Nice ambience. We had brunch on Sunday on the second floor. We didn't make reservations and had to sit by the bar table, which was still OK. The eggs benedict, halloumi, and avocada were delicious. You can also come here to enjoy desserts and coffee/tea.

  • 3/5 Enrique O. 4 years ago on Google
I went for their brunch menu and ordered their smoked salmon bagel, my friends ordered the hamburger and the French toast. Aesthetically it’s beautiful and the service is great but... the food is about average with an above average price. Would I go again? Probably but maybe just to sit for some coffee.
