A landmark in Chicago. Gino's is definitely worth the visit. You got deep dish style and or think crust options. Pizza's are all made to order. Just keep in mind, Deep dish style takes about 40-45 minutes. Be ready to be seated, relax and wait... its not a 20 minute in and out place.

Great place to get an authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza! It is recommended that you order a deep dish prior to arriving as it could take over 40 minutes for the deep dish to cook properly. We ordered mozzarella sticks with buffalo sauce and I recommend it! Chicago is not a place I travel to often, but this was my second visit in five years and it is exactly how I remember! The sauce to cheese ratio is perfect, and they are very generous with the toppings! If I come to Chicago a third time, this will make my list again for sure.

We walked into Gino's a little before 5pm yesterday (8/2) and were immediately seated at a high table just feet from the bar. Within 15 minutes from that, there was an incredible line outside waiting to get in!! GET THERE EARLY to avoid the line. We ordered the Supreme pizza with pepperoni and an appetizer, calamari. Do not order the calamari. It taste like they bought it at a local grocery store. It was rubbery and bland. Had the pizza not been hitting on all cylinders, I would have been angry. The medium Supreme pizza was 👌 delicious 😋. The pizza took about 50 minutes to arrive. We were told this, but it was well worth the wait. It was cooked perfectly. It may be the best pizza I've ever had. Certainly the best in my memory. Please note...we ordered a medium pizza because we were very hungry. She had 1.5 slices, and I ate 2. A small would probably be enough for two people.

Went there to experience the classic deep dish pizza and I was not disappointed. The pizza was delicious, with a ton of cheese. Great crispy pie. I also had the cheese stick appetizers which were really good, crispy and cheesy as well, tasted home made. Great service! They also have a bar with a great selection of drafts!

It is a very large place. When we went there, Saturday late lunch, it had plenty of space and free tables. Service was good. We got seated right away although our server was all kinds of confused. Asked the same questions multiple times, forgot our drinks, didn’t come to check on us.. we still had a good experience though. Food was pretty good. Everything tasted fresh and cheesy. I am not a big fan of biscuit type of pizza crust but having that on a deep dish pizza works because what you are actually having is pizza casserole. Restrooms are on the 2nd floor and are very clean. Easiest and closest parking is in the parking garage in the next block right across the restaurant though it did cost us $43 for 2 hours so bear that in mind. If you are a fan of deep dish pizza though then you will love it here.

This is EXACTLY how Chicago Deep Dish is supposed to be! It's hot enough where the cheese is melted, the toppings are flavorful, and the crust is crispy, buttery and delicious. Yes! Yes! YES!!!! Oh, and the service here is so friendly. It takes 45 minutes to bake a deep dish. Our waitress came around many times before and during our meal to check up on us. Simply AMAZING! Parking is Valet or Garage right across the street.

Honestly everything was exactly what we wanted. We wanted to try some Chicago deep dish pizza and there are SO many options that we didn't know what we were getting into when we chose this place. But it was amazing. They had some great topping choices (I had mine with spicy pepperoni and white truffle oil) let you customize and mix and match pretty much however you'd like and it came out fresh and hot and amazing straight to our table. The aesthetics of this place are fun and edgy and they offer a marker for you to write on the walls once you're done. Def enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service and would go here again!

Visiting from Texas! Our hotel was around the corner so of course we had to stop and enjoy dinner at Gino’s East Pizzeria. There was a line but we didn’t wait long (family of 6) we ordered a small Italian sausage and pepperoni deep dish for 2 which takes 45 min to make so we ordered the wings which came with fries and veggie sticks for the boys (nothing left on the plate) and the sticks and dips which came with garlic bread sticks, mozzarella sticks, spinach mozzarella sticks and dips (very delicious)! My daughter had a pepperoni thin crust pizza very delicious as well. We ate good, service was great and they were busy, restrooms were clean! Will definitely come back again.

Hands down the BEST Chicago deep dish pizza I have ever had!! The atmosphere was so awesome! Everyone had signed their name all over the inside of the restaurant. Oh & the appetizers!! You have to try the Cheese Sticks, Spinach Sticks & Breadsticks! I've never had Spinach Sticks before but WOW! They will change your life! ♡ We can't wait to return!!

We decided to try this pizza restaurant in Chicago after watching the TV series man versus food. This was the first time I’ve ever experienced £80 Chicago pizza, and Boy did it not disappoint! The food was delicious and there was plenty of it even when we ordered a small pizza! The venue was great very hipster and offers the opportunity for you to write your name on the walls which adds to the deco and hipster feel of the venue. Will certainly be back even if it means travelling from the UK to try one of their pizzas again!

It was one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. I can not forget. I miss Chicago pizza. It was full of cheese and plenty of meat inside. The pizza dough is thick and chewy. The buffalo wings were also spicy and very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Our server, Jason was attentive and enthusiastic. He answered our questions about the menu and even brought in the chief of the kitchen to make sure that my allergen questions were addressed fully. He had deep dish pizza with two halves custom made for our group. The thin crust Margarita Pizza also being a hit. Our football enthusiasts does not have to miss the game as they were on the large screen TVs all around the room. It was awesome and we WILL be back again!

Top 3 pizza places in the world! Don't miss the opportunity to dine here! The pizza is so good! It's so fresh, and the closer you get to the crust, the better it gets. The crust alone is delicious as well. We had half a piece left after dinner, we took it back to the hotel and put it in the fridge. The next morning it was almost as good while cold.

Went in by myself to sit at bar and have a quick meal and boy did I have a great time. The bartender was so nice, atmosphere was amazing and food was great. Would've gotten a deep dish but it looked like too much for me to eat by myself. Got a me the spaghetti and meatballs and it did not disappoint. Drinks were kind of pricey but the energy of the bar/restaurant really made it feel worth it. Whenever I'm back in Chicago we'll definitely be heading back.

My first time here, and my partner was last here 30 years ago. Food is just incredible, and it's the best pizza I've ever had. Started off with garlic bread sticks and the roasted Brussel sprouts. Bread was good, the sprouts were incredible. Friend got a beef dip and loved it. We made a pizza with ground beef, pepperoni, green olives, and mushrooms. The sauce was so flavorful, the crust was light and flakey with the perfect amount of butter taste. Do what we did and get a larger pizza - the left overs the next day are even better. Service was fast and friendly.

Be careful with the roof of your mouth because everything is piping hot! We tried the spinach artichoke dip, mozza sticks, and Chicago fire pizza. Everything was excellent! Service was fast, and our server was friendly. Loved the graffiti and exposed brick!

We were here at dinner time but it was a Sunday evening so it wasn't busy. The football game was on pretty much every screen (as it should be in Chicago) and the staff was pretty attentive. It was the same delicious pizza I remembered from working at a Gino's location back in 2005-2008 and the same amazing appetizers with a few more added in. Drinks are a bit more expensive but I guess that's the price of the city.

Where do I start? The music was great, you are able to write your name ANYWHERE in the restaurant (to leave your mark in Chicago), the food was AMAZING, and our waitress was so sweet! It was already 830 when we got there, and for a deep dish it takes 45 minutes to an hour to make (which she did let us know when we ordered it). It was totally worth the wait! And honestly we were able to just to talk to the waitress about living in Chicago which was awesome!

First time trying Gino's! The experience was good overall. We tried the Mozzarella Spinach Sticks and Gino's Supreme Deep Dish Pizza and they both tasted good! Rather pricey comparing with similar restaurants that provide equal or better quality food and portions. I personally found the atmosphere a little unappetizing with all the "sign the wall" art (the wall was so full people started signing on the seats and tables which is getting messy, plus people were leaving "writings" and "art" instead of signing).

This is one of the best locations of one of the best restaurants in Chicago period. That goes without saying it's also one the best places to sate your lust for an authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. They offer great service and a laid back, comfortable atmosphere. The only caution to consider is that it gets LOUD. If your looking for a place for quiet conversation look elsewhere, otherwise it's had to go wrong with this Chicago classic.

The best deep dish I’ve ever had. So impressed that one of the traditionally popular deep dish pizza establishments has added vegan cheese to their menu. The crust was so good; thick, but light and flaky; and a great compliment to the heavy toppings of cheese and sauce.

Pizza was really good. Mozzarella sticks were really good. Our first time trying deep dish pizza. It's more like a casserole than a pizza but worth trying. Pizza takes 45 minutes to make so get an app and be patient. Service was spotty. Looked like our server had too many tables.

Completely drool worthy pizza. Literally everything here is amazing. The staff is phenomenal. They are very accommodating even though they are crazy busy. Also even just the look of the place is great.

Or server, Jason, was amazing! Did a great job with recommendations for a traveling first timer. The spinach mozzarella sticks were fire! Deep dish experience was good, Gino sausage was delicious on the pizza was good. Salad was fresh! All around good experience and Jason made sure it was great!

We tried everything from the Deep Dish Meaty Legend Pizza, Mozzarella Sticks, Chicken Wings in Barbecue and Buffalo, and the bread sticks! Everything was delicious, but I was partial to the chicken wings and pizza! They've ruined me for all other pizza's...LOL. A must try when in the area!

Had a great time sharing this place with my wife and stepdaughter as they have never been. They got us in and seated within 5 minutes, which was great as it was Christmas shopping season. The service was great and even told us that the wait on the food was going to be a little longer than normal. We enjoyed all of the food (appetizers, thin crust, and stuffed) the kids also thought it was great that they could write on the walls.

I used to love this place in the 80s. We were in the area today with the fam so we decided to take a walk down memory lane and stopped in. Slightly different with the ice cream shop up front, otherwise it’s the same vibe! Got seated right away and ordered a picture of margaritas…now that’s when it all went downhill. First of all it wasn’t a picture it was a carafe but it was terrible. So sweet we couldn’t drink it. After sometime we found our waitress and told her the drink was too sweet, so she brought us another one. That one was actually worse than the first. So finally, when we flagged her down, we told her we will just settle with beer. It took about 15 minutes to get the beer because I think she was angry. We received our calamari, which was just OK and then we had an artichoke dip which was just not good. I’m happy to say our server changed so much better service, and finally our pizza came. Now this brought back pleasant memories. So all in all it was a good experience, but only go there for the pizza, all else is not good. My husband who is a beer connoisseur said even the beer was flat.

Great ambiance, great good, fantastic service had a nice time here the drinks aren’t watery the conversation with the locals was pure and eye opening. If you are in to think cracker crusted pizza this is the spot we didn’t try the deep dish because my wife doesn’t like it. My only problem is I didn’t know I had to bring my own marker to sign my mane on something

I may be biased but I like Buffalo pizza better than Chicago style pizzas.. tavern style is better than deep dish in my opinion. Both pies were delicious; but, Buffalo....

  • 5/5 Joshua M. 5 months ago on Google
Ordered 4 pizzas and all of them were pretty great (Meaty Legend, Sausage/Pepperoni, Margherita, Spinach Artichoke) Deep dish pizza dough was buttery and soft, toppings were tasty, tavern slices were perfect mix of cheese/sauce/toppings. I've been a Lou's fan for a long time but Lou's han steadily been decreasing in quality while Gino's has been a pleasant surprise.

Exactly the pizza we ordered was not the best choice because of the dough we chose. At least I think so. I hope on a next occasion I can order something that I like. The attention was good. the high payment. The urban environment is beautiful.

Stopped in for a snack and drink. The tavern style pizza hit the spot. Was able to spirit toppings. Not too filling - like the traditional thick crust. Server said the pizza would take 30 min. We got it much faster. There’s an ice cream place here - but they are two separate businesses

We ordered the Meaty Legend Deep Dish Pizza here. It had a lot of Pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and cheese. It was hot, fresh, and savory. But it got a bit salty after one slice. The crust was surprisingly crispy, feel like it is not a pizza dough, but a pie crust. It’s the first time I have tasted this type of pizza crust. We also ordered the Charred Brussels Sprout. It’s flavorful with a lot bacon. The restaurant has really special decorations. All wall and seats have written marks.

When in Chicago - deep pan. As a tourist anyway this is what we hear about. I was recommended two pizzerias in the city. This and the other one with a G. I’ve tried both. And Gino’s is a bit tastier, and the pizza is twice as big. The crust is crunchier, and somehow fluffier. I’ve ordered a small, but only manage led to eat half. Atmosphere is great - lots of families and friends having a good time.

I was in Chicago for 15 minutes before I made my way here! This pizza was seriously good! It was recommended to me to come here and try their thin crust options! Incredible! I highly recommend.

I came in on a Tuesday afternoon. The host and quickly sat me at the bar. The bartender was very informative which was important as this was my first time ordering deep dish pizza. The deep dish pizza took 40 mins which was to be expected. It was totally worth the wait! The flavours of the meaty legend were fantastic. The “small” pizza was enough to feed 2 people! As I was visiting Chicago by myself, it would have been great if there was a smaller single portion though. I will absolutely be visiting again the next time I’m in Chicago!

The Original Rainbow Cone has collaborated with Gino's East and set up a kiosk inside of their River North location. Great ice cream and I got to try the meaty deep dish pizza. Delicious!

Great stop for lunch when we visited the Museum of Contemporary Art. Seated quickly. Excellent customer service from Dan and Joshua. My husband enjoyed the Eggplant Parmesan Sub Sandwich, which was a very generous serving. He had a house salad as the side - really big portion with great greens and even olives. I enjoyed the Veggie Sub Sandwich, which was packed with artichokes, cucumber, and arugula. It was so full I couldn't bite into it! Fries as my side were ok, but I think they were frozen not fresh. So I might try a side salad next time. Great atmosphere with graffiti and art all over the walls (which is true for every Gino's location we have visited). Lively space in terms of sound. Very affordable meal for the location. What a treat!

Gino‘s East was recommended to me as the best Deep Dish Pizza place in Chicago. And I agree! It takes about 45 minutes to make the pizza, but waiting is absolutely worth it! Super nice staff and very authentic American DDP restaurant. If you’re in Chicago, make you’re way up there. You’ll be glad you did!
