Magnifico Northern Italian Restaurant. One of the best I have ever eaten. Seasonal specials with Italian Truffle. Risotto with Truffles excellent. Every apetizers we tried was perfectly prepared and presented. Great red wines from Piedmont region. Even gelato was very good .Must try.

When you make the decision on where to have dinner, the food is the main motivation in the choice. However, the decision for any future visit is often also determined by how well the service was. This restaurant has some of the best service I have ever received. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and kept our water topped off. She was proactive every step of the way and it was very much appreciated. Every plate of food had great richness and flavor. The sauce for the ragu had some great depth and I found the gnocchi very nice. Ordered Beef Wellington which was the night's special, and every component was well executed. Everything was delicious and a return trip will be in our future. It was a flawless night for these two diners.

I loved every second of the food here! On the 2018 Michelin Guide for a reason. That’s for certain. The antipasti was all thoughtfully plated and they were all decent sizes to share with the table. THE VITELLO TONNATO THOUGH…poached piemontese beef, tuna, citrus, & caper aioli, frisee, crispy egg… insane. Everyone praised the Plin and I understand why. One thousand percent worth a visit. Pictured are the Plin, Rabbit, Black Truffle Risotto and the Tonnato

Osteria Langhe does an excellent job at bringing authentic Italian cuisine in an intimate, beautiful setting. The vitello tonati was unlike anything I've had before, but the combination of textures and flavors was perfect. The black truffle risotto was similarly executed well. However, my favorite item was the crespella - the butternut squash was absolutely delicious. Though expensive, the quality of the food absolutely comes across, and I would love to return.

This place is top tier. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Chicago in my six months here. Pasta very well may be best pasta I’ve ever had.

I am Italian and it's hard to find top Italian restaurants in the US that make you feel as if you were in Italy. This is one of them. Everything absolutely amazing. I had vitelli tonnato, plin, panna cotta, a glass of barolo, espresso and an amaro. So good. The plin dish is a delicacy, highly recommended.

Probably I am biased since I was born and raised in Italy and came at the restaurants with friends from the Langhe. Been here two times, anyways. First time was last winter. I was impressed by the food. I took the daily risotto with black truffle and egg, and the Coniglio(rabbit). I liked the wine list a lot, being a Italian wine lover. I decided to come again this week with friends. It was a really bad experience. First of all, I would expect bread along with dishes as a real Italian restaurant does and as other Italian in Chicago do. They never did, probably they must save on that. Then, I started with the Vitello Tonnato. It was everything but Vitello. It was more like a Roast-beef with random stuff. For me a no-no. Main course, I tried the again the Coniglio. This time was awful. The meat was chewy as hell and despite the menu said it would come with polenta, it was literally smashed potatoes. And Polenta has nothing to do with potatoes but corn flour.

Where do Italians eat in chicago? My vote is for Osteria Langhe. Great first date & it all hit the mark, from mushroom soup to the vitello tonnato (my fav) & the brasato. The food, the wine & the service were all amazing. I have a new fav italian restaurant.

We enjoyed the white truffle tagliolini. The desserts were also exceptional.

I love the story of this place, the focus on the Piemonte region of Italy. The gnocchi and the rabbit were delicious. The wine knocked my socks off. I'll definitely try to go back now that we're getting into the fall/winter season, which they say is when their dishes really shine!

This is the best Italian food I've had in my 6 years in Chicago. I typically inhale my food at a ridiculous speed, but the truffle risotto was so good I found myself taking my time so it would last longer. Not only was the pasta absolutely insane, the service was amazing! Everyone we spoke with was clearly so passionate about what they were doing which isn't something you see very often. We'll be back sooooo many more times!

Osteria Langhe presented a nice all around dinner for our group. Service was good, but certainly not a highlight of the meal. We started with the scallops which were a big hit followed by the tagliatelle bolognese and ravioli which were both good but weren’t life changing. The rabbit and polenta were excellent, but the truffle risotto was a let down, with only the taste of truffles and no other flavors really coming through. Also at least replace the nasty mirror in the bathroom for the prices they charge. Overall 4.2/5.

I’ve gone to this place a number of different times over the last several years and I’ve never been disappointed. The food is always well seasoned and delicious. The wine recommendations are always spot on. Very nice for an intimate dining experience on a date or with a small group. It’s a little loud, but aside from that I have absolutely no complaints.

"Consistently great" is hard to say about many restaurants, but Osteria Langhe has been exactly that ever since it opened over a decade ago. Truly impressive. On our latest visit, Stephanie provided warm and professional service with great recommendations, and the rabbit was impeccable - I wanted to order another as soon as I finished it!

A restaurant focusing on Piemontese cuisine, executed exceptionally well. The Vitello tonnato has been pivoted to a salad, with greens and some tomato. The tuna and capers sauce is less mayonnaise like and quite entirely tuna with even the shredded texture, also removing the use of capers separately. The beef is excellent: it has the subtle beefy flavor and the tenderness from a delicate poaching. My favorite part however may be the poached egg, which is flash fried with a layer of panko. The runny yolk, as well as the breading, adds a lot of depth to the tuna and beef flavors without going in another direction. The ravioli look is a simple dish on a familiar premise - wrapped cheese with a basic complement - and it’s done so well. Each piece is a pocket of liquid cheesey satisfaction from the la tur cheese, which is quite colorful and possesses some acidity. The butter sauce and thyme go quite well as a background. The burro e salvia is another simple pasta dish, bringing in sage into a sauce of butter and gran padano cheese. It is immensely, primally, satisfying. The sage does wonders. I was already feeling a little full before, but I had no problem finishing it and actually felt even more appetized after I was done.

The food was INCREDIBLE! The rabbit loin was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The service was also top notch and not a moment went by where I felt like I needed something. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. It was a great experience and we will definitely be back!

So glad to find neighbourhood gems like this. Great food, service and atmosphere. The portions were perfect to share and everything was delicious. Pasta was freshly made and very flavourful.

We had a really nice time sitting outside, drinking and eating at Osteria Langhe. Our server was terrific, the drinks good, the food as expected, and the cost was good. We had three cocktails each, shared two starters and two mains and then one dessert and it was around $200.

Arguably the best meal I've ever had in my entire life. Truffle risotto was absolutely insane and the steak we had with it was perfection. Good drinks and desert as well. This place is absolutely incredible. 6 stars.

Good food and wine and service The four course wine and tasting was nice Salad with beef was a little dry but sauce was excellent Pasta was good, sauce could have been a little more flavorful, cheese lost a little in the extra pasta water maybe? Rabbit was delicious, though slightly overcooked. The sauce, mushrooms, and etc were fantastic though Desert was tasty Overall I'd go back but maybe skip the pasta and salad and order a la carte Special wine selection. The pairing includes some very delicious wines at a very reasonable price. One of the better restaurants in the neighborhood for sure.

This restaurant is absolutely phenomenal! From the wonderful service, to the authentic cuisine. Also the drinks!!!!! I can’t even put into words how much I love coming here. You’d be doing your tastebuds a disservice not dining at this establishment.

I came here with very high hopes and although it was very good it wasn’t up to all the hype in my opinion We had the Vitello tonato, Ragu, Pane, coniglio, Abe banana bread

  • 4/5 Valerie R. 2 years ago on Google
The Ragu as the entree was my favorite! The appetizers we got were pretty delicious. Carne cruda was good along with the beef meatball in marinara sauce! We also got CONIGLIO which is rabbit loins and it just tasted like chicken. Very small intimate space. Waiter did a good job at checking up on us.
