Lovely and clean park. One of the best in Chicago for sure. We try to explore new parks with our little fur baby Simba. I’m sure he really had a wonderful time as he saw so many squirrels, plenty of space while walking and lots of new things to explore! Here are a few pictures of Simba looking for squirrels.

It was a nice fourth of July in Portage Park. The park is nice and clean and well tended and there were a number of small groups enjoying the fourth with grills and games. Plenty of fireworks to watch from surrounding neighbors and neighborhoods so no need to head to an actual fireworks show and try to find parking as well as battle the insane crowds. They have baseball diamonds, soccer and football fields, tennis courts and basketball hoops, kids play areas such as swings and climbing structures as well as a swimming pool and high dive area.

My place to walk. Lots to do and see. Tennis, soccer, ball field, two pools and a diving pool. Wish they would bring back some basketball. Dog park too. Great day and night.

1 mile perimeter perfect for tracking your mileage if you are a runner or wslker. Dog park is nice size. Swimming pool in summer is great.

A great place to play baseball and tons of space for any activity. The field house was a little stinky. The dog park is really neat and great for any size dog.

They need better lighting. You can't see good while playing in the soccer field. The light is not strong. Also, constant police activity going on.

Nicely groomed fields of grass, manicured trees and shrubs, with 7 large open air spaces makes visiting Portage Park the highlight of my day.

Nice big park. Plenty for kids to do, dog park right next to park.. only thing I don't like is it's off a busy street other than that nice park.

Lovely park by my house. The field house would not let me use the bathroom and I was 8 months pregnant! Also, my son had a bad experience in woodcraft class. Make sure you keep an eye on the instructor. He left my son and wondered off. Nobody watching him. My son went to look for him and he was watching a game on the field for most of class time. The office staff didn't care and refused to give me a refund. When my son went back to collect his art. The instructor said. "Oh so your mom tried to get me in trouble"? Then laughed at my son and my son ran out scared. Never went back!

This park is even better than expected. There is a pool (which isn’t free) and had a lifeguard. There are paths for families, animals, and paths to a volleyball area. Open pit bbqs aren’t allowed. But there is a good amount of open space for everyone.

Always take my kids to this park. The equipment is nice and has an artifical and almost bouncy ground. Plenty of room to run around In the field or plan a picnic. Always great to find people there all the time.

Love Portage Park, great swimming pool. Great activities for the children. Great staff members. Would be very nice if they would offer more aftercare programs for kids. Speaking as a single parent, it's hard to find aftercare for my child. It would be helpful if the Park district would have more space for more children in there aftercare program , (Summer Camp)

Portage Park is quite friendly and peaceful. People come to this park to ride their bikes, jog, walk/play with their dogs, relax, play with their kids and/or have picnics. I come to the park with my husband and child all of the time. There are a couple of loud, obnoxious drunkards that come to the park around in the evening and usually sit and hang by the benches towards the main entrance of the park. From what I gather from a distance they seem to mind their own business just as I do.

NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS! (Only bathrooms are in the indoor pool building that is closed most of the time) Outdoor Pool is closed on Sundays, and the farmers market is a joke. If those 3 things were addressed this park would get 5 stars. I’d post a pic of the port-o-potty by the tennis courts but it would NSFW.

It's a nice little park with several amenities. There's a fenced in soccer court, a moderate sized pool with diving boards, a tennis court, natural prairie area, several baseball fields, a fenced in playground for kids, a couple open fields and plenty of paved paths. It's one of the nicer little neighborhood parks.

I love the dog park. It usually has big and small dogs. Although the area is not separated by dog size, owners are good at keeping an eye on their dog if they get a little rough during playtime. The water fountains are off due to Covid19. There are plenty of water bowls available. Most owners bring water and share with others

I've lived in the area over 20 yrs and have enjoyed Portage park w my kids and now grandkids. It's a clean, safe, fun place for the kids to play. There's a swimming pool, tennis court, huge field and field house. Just a great day at the park. Enjoy!! The day the photos were taken there was a pumpkin patch w pony ride and a petting zoo ❀❀❀

Large park in the middle of a bunch of busy streets gives a nice small getaway from the day to day rush of the city. Really love it here, it's quite relaxing to walk around! Also, the squirrels here are so far from shy its lovely. They come right up to you trying to get food! ITS SO CUTE! I must say though to those reading this, please don't feed the squirrels it's not good for them. When I get a dog I'll definitely be taking them for walks here! :)

Really nice park. Good spots for a picnic, kids playing baseball and kickball, clean paths to bike and skate on. Too bad that the pool is closed, but there's some cool history behind it - 1959 Pan American games were here, 1972 Olympic Trials were here. Not crowded either.

Truly pleasant park. Great spots for an excursion, kids playing baseball and kickball, clean ways to bicycle and skate on. Really awful that the pool is shut, yet there's some cool history behind it - 1959 Pan American games were here, 1972 Olympic Trials were here. Not swarmed all things considered.

3.1stars. Men's changing area functional but ancient. We caught the last day of the outdoor pools season 2021. Rhonda T and Gaspar P were helpful CPD gatekeepers. Guests seemed well mannered, except for kids who have to run... The lifeguards and deck guard were respectful and answered our questions. Safety breaks to clear the decks was a pain...
