I was sad and disappointed at this place. I have not been here since ten years ago. The atmosphere and the mall was different. I saw that the place was not exciting that it use to be. Many of the stores are gone like the gamestop, the Italian suit place, Champs and many other stores are gone. The people were not to excited to be there and it was less people at the mall then what it use to be. The mall was different of its design now then in the past. The bus stops are not in front of the entrance like it was in the past. When one enter in mall the food court there. I saw the lightning were dim not all the light bulbs in the mall are replaced with new ones. The mall does have more seats for people to sit down now. The mall does not have a basement for stores anymore its blocked off now. My experience here was sad and a disappointment here. I could not give this location a 5 or even a 4 rating. I hope for the future that management will bring back the excitement this place once had because this place is fading away.

I recently visited the FordCity Mall, and while I don't want to come across as too harsh, there are some aspects that need addressing. So, this review might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I hope it'll be taken constructively. First off, the mall looks like it was last given some love back in 2011. Sure, it has some decent deals and stores, but it's pretty obvious that everything is outdated. From the outdated decor to the worn-out seating areas, the place screams for a facelift. It's like stepping into a time capsule, and not in a good way. The building's infrastructure is not doing it any favors either. I couldn't help but notice how it was constantly making weird noises. Now, I get that buildings creak sometimes, but this sounded like it might collapse any minute. I know that's an exaggeration, but it's a real concern that might not be comforting to shoppers. As for the shopping experience, it was a bit underwhelming. On the day I visited, the mall was mostly empty, which made it feel like a ghost town. I understand that the foot traffic might not always be high, but the lack of a vibrant atmosphere did impact the overall experience. However, it's not all doom and gloom. Not to mention the fact there is a foul odor that is most likely coming from the carpet. I did appreciate some of the stores and the deals they had to offer. It's just that the overall ambiance and feel of the mall need a serious upgrade. I think a little sprucing up and some modernization could breathe new life into this mall. Now, I hope this review is taken in the right spirit. It's not meant to be overly critical, but rather to highlight areas that could use some improvement. FordCity has the potential to be a bustling shopping hub, and with the right upgrades, it can attract more visitors and regain its charm. So, let's roll up our sleeves and give this place the makeover it deserves! This review is purely based on my personal observations and experiences during my visit. It is intended to provide constructive feedback to help improve the mall's overall appeal and attract more visitors.

We ate at Chic FIL A 😋 and the food and service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant when you want a great meal. Parking is free and accessible. The employees are very friendly.

This place needs an upgrade asap. I can't believe it's still open. There are hardly any major stores. There's a lot of the off brand and flea market like stores which is disappointing to say the least. They do have a Foot Locker, Journeys, and Children's place. The carpet is stained and smells like an old unkept nursing home. Not sure if they're trying to conserve electricity but it is not at all bright in there like a mall should be. There are quite a few stores that are not occupied so it looks like an abandoned mall overall....sad and neglected.

25 years ago this was among the most popular and busiest malls in all of Chicago. Then slowly but surely, they ruined it. By "they" you and I know what people I'm talking about. It's not hate it's facts.

Make sure you know it's hours. My mom and I thought it opened at 10:00 a.m It didn't open until 11:00 a.m. We walked around for 15 minutes. The wishing well fountain is beautiful. We also decided to sit and get massages from the massage chairs by JCPENNEY. Stop at the food court for Chinese food. Very tasty. Good parking.

I'm not sure how they still open. It's very empty. There's few store but ever since Sears closed place had gone down. There's more store around mall do not many indoors. It's always lonely. As much as I like the place it always feels weird.

If you do not have a visible disability, Ford City Mall owners and security guards will not allow service animals without a "card", will not read ADA laws when presented to them, will talk over you when trying to reference said laws to advocate your rights, will not call you back when filing a complaint about the discrimination. This is illegal, as there is no regulating government entity that issues service dog ID cards or requires such documentation nor service vests, but instead many fake service dog websites sell these items. Hence many people with disabilities do not carry them, but I can see why, just to keep ignorant people and businesses from discriminating against you and denying you public access. The only legal reasons to remove a person and their service dog off the premises of public or private property is if 1) the dog is not housebroken 2) the dog is not under control 3) the dog is showing aggression towards others. I do not recommend this mall as I cannot support a business that treats people with disabilities this way. It looks like trash anyway and shady people are walking around the poorly maintained parking lot asking for money. The security guards should be outside protecting the patrons and vehicles instead of kicking out handicapped people.

This is an excellent amazing mall. You all need to understand we are in the new age now where new technology is improving everyday and times are changing. More people are losing interest in malls and want to do other things, only shop and grab something to eat then proceed onto the next mission. Just be glad this mall is still standing and the nostalgia is here because the same people saying it's not like how it used to be will be the very same people that will be crying in real tears when they announce the mall is closing Hopefully it stays for years to come. Thank you Ford city Mall

Security yelled at my mom for taking my niece close to the fountain. Obviously she wasn’t going to dip her in the water just wanted to walk her around it. I confronted them for yelling and they said they just want people to buy what they need and get out. They don’t like people sticking around. How is this mall still open?

Used to be a nice mall when I was a kid but now don't feel safe with the recent carjacking! Not as many shops and food court nearly dead! Orland Square or Chicago Ridge have better options and much safer!

Took the bus to the mall. When we reached the maal I looked and ask the bus driver is this the mall? She responded by giving me a look. To my surprise the mall looks abandoned!! JCPenney is the major retailer that's keeping the mall afloat!! There are some stores outside the mall, like ross, old navy, five below, and marshall's. Was not impressed and did not stay long.

WARNING: be careful in the parking lot because of open manholes!! Security was unable to create any solutions to prevent damage to the vehicle, but we eventually got a board over the hole to safely move the car. DON'T DRIVE OVER MANHOLES AT FORD CITY. Stay safe ✌️

Only place to shop for better quality formal wear is jc penny. I only went here because of Sephora. Sephora left jc penny, so there's NO other reason to come to this dead mall. The food court only has 2 restaurants open, the rest are closed down. Idk how to this mall is still open..

I love this mall but the people that sell the perfume and cologne over charge for that stuff when I would look it up on Amazon and the price would be completely lower then what they charged example before I started to look the perfume up I brought riri by Rihanna perfume from one of the stand’s and he charged me $55.00 for it but on Amazon it was $27.36 after that I told myself I was going to look it up first before I buy it. And if they charge more then what I seen online then I’ll just walk off after telling them about themselves for trying to play me out of my money. But other stores in there are awesome.

This mall has seen better days. I've been going to Ford City Mall since I was little, but due to online shopping and the impact of Covid 19 shutting down/ Closing many Stores and restaurants, Ford City Mall is looking like its standing on its last leg. However, if you enjoy semi looking abandoned malls with creepy imagery some of the stores will give you that feeling. But even though Ford City is looking out of commission theres still many greats places to have a outing with friends and family, like the AMC movie theater, and many other stores and restaurants found around Ford City area. I do have faith that this mall can once again be the main place for people to shop, eat, relax and hangout.

This mall is considered the largest enclosed mall in Chicago outside of downtown, and based on my first visit here, I can tell that it is indeed huge. There are a lot of different stores that can be found inside the Ford City Mall. There are also a lot of restaurants to choose from. This mall also has a movie theater. This place is perfect for me for shopping, doing groceries, and even watching movies in theaters with families and friends. This place has a clean environment, and the items in each store are well-stocked and organized. The people here are very friendly and helpful, so if you have any questions or are looking for anything, just ask for help, and they will be very happy to assist you. I had a great time here at Ford City Mall, and I also had great customer service.

This mall use to be the spot! I remember back in the days when the tilt was there! But the people that live in the area don’t spend their money there and it is to many of them to the point that the people who held it afloat don’t really visit anymore. I’ll just remember the good old days!

This mall is so outdated it needs to be torn down. The food in the food court is horrible and overpriced. Only one store in there was worth going in there. I thought it was 1983 all over again.

I went to the peripheral store of 5 Below and found almost all of what I was looking for! Keep in mind that bags cost 7¢ each (city of Chicago) and the store has renamed itself 5 Beyond ( or something like that) to reflect the above $5 items now stocked. The only thing I didn't find were the child sized eye goggles and Bluetooth speaker.

AMC was great! Spiderman movie is amazing! Although the bathrooms suck! No working sink to was your hands, only the soap dispenser works. Also, the bathrooms don't have a baby diaper change handle. I had to change my daughter's wet diaper on the cold floor! 🐍🕷

I visited the mall prior to catching a flight back to BWI. I noticed that a lot of malls aren't busy as they use to b since the pandemic occurred. I came across a store called, "Selfish". Great customer service and the employees were nice! I saw some items I would consider purchasing. If I ever come back to my hometown anytime soon. I will stop by to support this store. The only reason why I gave the mall 3 stars is because its not generating a lot of business but then again I visited on a Friday afternoon.

The mall has a lot of vacant retail space, the carpet is atrocious. Its smells bad and looks horrible. Its a shame the owner that took over in 2019 has not put any money into restoring the building. The movie theater is the same... unkept.

This place nowadays is just like a ghost town, acres and acres of parking lot just wasted... Too many stores are empty, and the whole place needs to be upgraded... Is nothing what it used to be back in the times. Ford City Mall should be turned into a Swaporama, and I bet you it will bring way too many people back again...👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️👥️

I did enjoy my lunch at Ford City mall, but it's just a shadow of it's former glory... Those of you out there who are in my age group..remember S&H Green Stamps ? My Mom and late Dad use to save them up and use them all the time at the Ford City of old in the early 70's.

We lived it up at the recreation center external the retail outlet. The music added to the charm of this area. I prescribe that you go to the recreation center in the evening. The shopping center itself is huge, and everybody will actually want to track down an appropriate shop or feasting foundation. The solitary issue is that it is hard to situate in this shopping center because of the various exits and doorways. We were by and large satisfied with our shopping experience.

In the neighborhood, there is an excellent and enormous retail mall! It features a wide range of shops from which to pick. I saw that all of the major brands were there. I can also park my automobile without difficulty. It also offers a Food Court where you may eat a variety of cuisines. We had a great time that day! I advised everyone to go to this retail center!

Worst customer service ever! They don’t know how to talk and respect their customers. They only care about taking care of multiple customers fast so that they can earn money. They messed up my eyebrows and the girl refused to fix it because people were waiting and they started talking so rude. I hope people can soon realize that they don’t give good service they just want money.

I go to ford city when I can’t access any other malls due to not having a vehicle that’s when I go to this mall I just get on the 79th street bus towards Ford city and I’m there no complications of how I get there it might be a little scary riding the 79th street bus but I found out that the people were friendly they might be a little rough around the edges but it’s only because they have been through so much and if u do run into a problem just put your head down and keep walking and tell those type of people you don’t want any trouble
