Very good vegan options!!! I love the spicy tofu salad, I will definitely come back to try the salad again and many other delicious plates on the menu. Tempura is so good, not oily and fresh with tasty sauce. My first time trying the chicken katsu, I recommend 💕. The portions are reasonably priced, I was able to take my leftovers and continue to eat later. The staff was very nice and accommodating, thank you. Looking forward to come back 🙏🏼.

4.5 stars: One of the few completely vegan Thai spots in Chicago, and it was pretty solid! I came on a weekday for lunch and it was completely empty. It’s a medium-sized space cutely decorated with holiday-themed, festive decor. The service was very quick and friendly. I ordered the Spicy Eggplant with Soy Beef which I really enjoyed! The staff noted that soy chicken and beef tend to be the most popular proteins ordered, and especially recommended the soy beef. The soy beef was tender and flavorful. The eggplant and veggies were also cooked very well: the eggplant was soft and tender and the veggies were crisp and fresh. I ordered it medium spicy and it definitely packed a bit of spice in there, but wasn’t too spicy overall. It also came with purple rice, which was a little hard but good when mixed in with the flavorful entree sauce. Before the entree came out, they also served a small cup of miso soup, but it was a little cold. The dessert selection on the menu looked really good and creative, but unfortunately they only had one of the 5 options available on that day, so we didn’t choose to get it. The prices were also okay— not that expensive but also not that inexpensive (~$16 per entree).

Best vegan food I've had in Chicago. Yakisoba was very good, the vegetables were crunchy and the chicken substitute was amazing. Ramen with "shrimps" was terrific. The broth was flavorful and the shrimp substitute was surprisingly accurate. The drunken noodles were also very tasty. The prices could be a tad lower though.

My true rating is 0 stars. We was not impressed by the food. It’s extremely toxic. It would be nice if people will innerstand that soy is linked to multiple cancers…endocrine disorders, infertility, breast cancer in both men and women, soy contains high levels of phytic acids which withdraw nutrients when processed by your body. Soy is harmful to children. Please do your research. What we mean by research is to listen to how your body feels after you eat. You will find a lot of false information online. The TRUTH comes from within. You know you are good when you feel happy, light, energetic, and free. When you get done eating you should not feel bad with gas, stomach cramps, tiredness, irritability, headaches, inflammation in muscles and joints. Vegetarians and other users of dairy. (Milk, butter, cheese)Dairy causes mucus and inflammation in the body as does soy… you have to watch those plant based cheese too. More natural ones like cashews is a much healthier alternative. Let’s create a world that eat healthy foods that’s good for the mind, body, and soul. I listen to my body when it comes to food. I learned that eating red meat, processed food, sugars and chemicals does not belong in my light body. Food is information so if I consume food (energy) of a animal that was beaten and abused… I will be consuming all those fears and neglect from that animal and in turn I will feel sluggish and unmotivated. When I eat high alkaline plant based foods I feel so energetic and on top of this world. The ingredients being used in most of the restaurants that’s using processed foods and soy will not allow you to live a long healthy life.

I am not a vegan, but I do enjoy vegetarian and vegan food from time to time. We had fried rice (soy beef) and green curry (soy chicken). Green curry was very flavourful, fresh tasting, and rightly spiced (we ordered med spicy). Soy chicken was not bad either. The fried rice though, was a big "Meh".. Mushy and some sorta oily making it quite weird texture. The beef was also pretty weird texture. I'll recommend to have vegetarian options than trying vegan substitutes next time. Service was great as well.

I absolutely love this restaurant. My advice is to try everything, come back and keep trying something new. This time I had curry gyoza, tofu satay and the kung pao chicken which I forgot to take a picture of. First time trying them and they were all very delicious, filling and well made

What a great hidden treasure. If you are vegan or vegan curious, this is a must place. I usually get their seaweed soup with mung bean noodles. Highly recommended. One of the best vegan spots in Chicago

I miss the vegan sushi! This restaurant has great vegan Asian food. I love the drunken noodles and the spring rolls. Oh and if you’re into sweets, I highly recommend the tofu cheesecake. It’s so rich and has a wonderful texture, and it topped with your choice of preserves. They also deliver!

My fave place urban vegan was closed so I went here which is basically the sister place, got the pad Thai and it was amazing, basically identical to urban vegan. Absolutely delish. We also got the orange chicken, that was good too. Live Thai vegan food!

A complete gem of a restaurant that I am confident will not disappoint you. Whether you prefer vegan or vegetarian, or you are not either one of those, you will find a dish that is incredibly pleasing. The restaurant is very unassuming from the street but once you enter it is almost like and Oasis hidden away from the busy Street. It is not very large, only seating for maybe 30 people. We ordered the green curry and a ginger plate that had plant based beef as the protein. Both dishes were served with steamed rice and miso soup. Again, all of this was vegetarian. I completely recommend this restaurant.

We had a wonderful family lunch here! The service was friendly and the spice level was customizable so my kid was able to order her dishes mild. Portions were large and the all day combos made for balanced meals that were tasty and not too heavy. The simple space was done up nicely with real roses and real candles.

Vegan Plate in Chicago is a true plant-based haven that has exceeded my expectations in every way! This restaurant is a must-visit for vegans and non-vegans alike. The food at Vegan Plate is nothing short of amazing. The menu offers a diverse range of vegan dishes that burst with flavor and creativity. From hearty plant-based burgers to fresh salads and flavorful bowls, every item is a testament to the delicious possibilities of vegan cuisine. What's truly remarkable is the quality of ingredients and the care put into each dish. You can taste the freshness in every bite, and the portion sizes are satisfying. It's a place where you can enjoy a guilt-free, wholesome meal without sacrificing taste. The staff at Vegan Plate is friendly and accommodating, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. They're knowledgeable about vegan options and are happy to offer recommendations. The restaurant's atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for lunch or dinner with friends and family. Plus, it's conveniently located in Chicago. Vegan Plate is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of plant-based eating done right. It's clear that the team behind it is passionate about both food and sustainability. Five stars without a doubt!

The food here is as good or better than my local Thai restaurant, but so much of it can be made gluten free that I don't have to worry about getting sick! Definitely worth the 20 min drive vs just popping next door. My absolute go to for gyoza and soup. Love this place!

This place is an absolute hidden gem. The most spectacularly delicious Thai in Chicago. Honestly the best Pad Thai I've ever gotten in Chicago and I've been on a mission to find the best Pad Thai for twenty years. Second best is Tiparos, third, Noodles in the Pot. I only get take out though. The atmosphere of the actual restaurant is way too depressing.

Excellent. Doing a personal vegan restaurant tour. I drove past and had to check it out! I ordered the garden spring roll, crystal noodle salad and pad see ew with “ beef”. ( no pics because it was too good)Everything was fresh and delicious. Usually When I order pad see ew from other restaurants it ends up smelling or tasting like wet dog as if they are cooking it with meat when I specifically asked them to Omit meat 🙄. But not here. At Vegan Plate, it tastes like it’s supposed to. Everything was flavored well and my food wasn’t drowning in grease or oil so you’re getting the texture and flavor of ALL the ingredients when you take a bite. I think prices are good.Service was Good. Portions are good. I’m a happy customer. Thanks Vegan Plate 5 stars⭐️ Definitely reccomend

I love coming here whenever I'm in the area. I just got myself soy beef pad thai and as usual it was delicious! And the banana spring rolls are worth the try, you will NOT be disappointed! I need to remember to take pics of my food next time but it was soooo good

Honestly the food was gross. The vegetable dumplings were pretty good and so was the Thai iced tea (4/5 stars). However the pad thai and pad see ew (both were tofu) were pretty much inedible. The tofu on my pad see ew was rancid but I was too nice to say anything so I picked around it. Noodles were overcooked and soggy with a few pieces of hard broccoli on top and no other vegetables (pad see ew). They also had minimal flavor and no heat. Pad Thai had ridiculously grainy peanut texture and barely any vegetables. It was not spicy at all. Hostess was nice, we were weirdly served room temperature waters (which I understand the bottles, but would have appreciated them cold). Tea was premade and sitting in a little fridge not made to order for $4.50. Very expensive. Meh atmosphere - I think it’s more for takeout. Online it says Thai place but I would definitely recommend going for the vegan sushi instead! That looked better and has good Google reviews. $56 total. I won’t be back unfortunately. Left hungry and went home and had snacks after I paid $56 since neither of us liked our meals.

Sushi was creative and delicious. Drunken noodles and 3 flavored chili fish were also great. Soy/wheat/konjac based meat and fish substitutes are used well. Marinated vegetables are also used in the sushi to replace seafood without compromising in texture and taste. Their thai tea is also perfect. We were the only people dining in at lunch, but hopefully business picks up during other times. This place is a gem.

One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The chicken Katsu curry is amazing. Also really like the fish sticks, the stir fried vegetables with soy chicken. I was not a big fan of the pepper steak, but it wasn’t terrible. Can’t wait to keep trying other dishes!!

Very nice place. They had the most delicious spring rolls I have ever eaten. The tempura broccoli was also quite tasty. I wish I didn't live about 8 hours away from this restaurant because I would like to try most of their menu.

Good luck finding a place with these incredible flavors and very friendly service. I tried P.E.T. with soy fish and it was really nice !!! Hope to come back soon with my family and friends.

Got the drunken noodle combo and everything was divine. Very flavorful and the ratio of veggies to noodles to sauce to protein was perfect. Would love to go back to try their vegan sushi.

Sort of an Asian twist on vegan. Food was fresh and very tasty. I ordered the cashew mixed vegetables, spring rolls, and brown rice.

I love this place so much. I order takeout at least once per week. I first tried the food in 2018 and it's only gotten better since then. Among my favs are: spring rolls, tempura, cucumber salad, sweet and sour, drunken noodles, green curry, and thai iced tea. Their range of options for vegan meats is also extensive, which is so hard to find. I have many pics, but this is the best one (in this photo: yellow curry with "fish", sweet chili gyoza, drunken noodles with tofu, cucumber salad, & tempura)

We've been here multiple times and the food is typically pretty good. Very fresh, good portions, and tasty. I did one time get some less than stellar lard na that seemed a bit watery but aside from that, every visit has offered up good, fresh, tasty food. Highly recommended.
