Best soul vegan food around! In fact, some of the best vegan food you'll ever have. And very uniqueThe drumsticks are fantastic, as is the eggplant lasagna, mac and cheese, BBQ bites, and desserts. It's sad Covid has shut this place down for now.

This place had amazing vegan soul food. I’m just not sure if they’re still open or not? Says they’re open on Google but no one answers when called. Please change google settings if you guys are permanently closed. Would be a bummer to go expecting some delish vegan food just to find out they’re not in business anymore.

We walked over from Amtrak looking for good vegan food after a weekend of road food. This was delicious. The teriyaki “wings” were amazing. The price was consistent with what you’d find at regular hot food/salad bars. The broccoli casserole was really oily - otherwise everything was amazing. Don’t miss the jerk bites.

Hopefully this rating will change when I can actually try this place, but every time we go you are not open! You have different hours posted in different places online. Please fix it and be open when you say you are!

I'm a vegan chef and I LOVE this place. My go-to when I'm not eating my own offerings and when I want comfort foods. My recommendation is call ahead to see if they have your favs available, as they may run out from time to time. Good job!

You are just SO disappointing. I stopped by on a Saturday morning and was so excited to bring a friend from Winnipeg to your restaurant. As has been mentioned in a previous review, you were unexpectedly closed. Major fail on your part. Too unreliable to be taken seriously.

Actual real deal. I've tried a lot of Vegan restaurants and have found a lot of mediocrity. This is one vegan restaurant where as a non-vegan I would consider eating this food over non-vegan food. The mac and cheese is as good as real mac and cheese (best vegan mac and cheese I've ever had!) and the chicken rivals real chicken!

Vegan comfort food found in the most unlikely of places and I can't be more thrilled to have experienced it. The beans are amazing, the rice is cooked perfectly, that mac and cheese is out of this world...and that chocolate cake. I feel guilty eating it but I shouldn't because it is cruelty free. It's not the cheapest. They price by the pound except their corn bread and drumsticks, desserts and drinks. Staff was super friendly too. I will be back and I have my eye on that corn bread.

Vegan Now is amazing! There are several vegan options in the French Market but this is one of the best. I love their eggplant parmesan. Their menu changes all of the time so you get a variety of foods to try from week to week. The options vary from healthy foods to 'comfort' foods and they charge by weight instead of by item. I kind wish that since they charge by weight you made your own platter, but that's my biggest downside. Just be very specific to the person working that day how much you want of each item and they will do their best. The food tastes home made and get there early because sometimes they run out of the good stuff before 12:30!

I'm not a vegan but sometimes I like to eat vegan food. Vegan now is really great tasting food. I really love the kale greens and the vegan chicken. It even has a fake bone in the center and tastes amazing.

Mac 'n cheese was delicous, best vegan mac yet and well seasoned. The fried chick 'n was okay and kale greens unseasoned.

If you are reading this from the Chicago French Market and not currently eating Vegan Now, you've made a huge mistake. I tried the kale and was convinced, but the tofu quiche blew me away!

The food is simply awesome & inexpensive!!! The menu keeps changing but except drumsticks, I liked everything else every time!!! Their kale is amazing & so are their other dishes! Even Tofu-haters would like their tofu!

I lived in Chicago as a vegetarian for 4 years. My final week in Chicago I found Vegan Now. It was delicious. Months later when I came to visit Chicago for a weekend, I knew I had to go back. And once again Vegan Now did not disappoint. Yeah, it's a little bit pricey; but it's really good. I will go back next time I'm in town.

What’s the issues with not answering the phone during business hours?? A little more professionalism would go a long way. Also went by there and found this establishment unexpectedly closed(would have called before hand but no one ever answers) fortunately there is another place that sells identical food and is very consistent.

This is my go-to lunch jam about once a week. The owners are super kind and charming. I've gotten many coworkers on the Tierra train, and everyone loves it.

I love the food at this place . Get a plate with a bit of everything. The Mac cheese is delicious. The deserts are fantastic too. Whether you're vegetarian or not, you'll have a great meal.

Great vegan bar food & reasonably priced strong drinks. Friendly & prompt service. Hubby & I came on a Sunday night at 10pm & it was packed, we sat at the bar. The food is super fresh, tons of inventive combos/adaptations of old favorites.

The food was great for a counter-service place. They satisfied my urge for fried chickin'. The mock chicken was very good as were the greens and rice and peas. Being from Toronto it was good to find a place that catered to my preferences.

It's GOOD! Certainly not easy to create vegan Mexican food. I was not blown away. However, my palate is not attuned to plant based foods completely.
