Pathetic food. They should close down. This is not how we Indians eat. Who puts bhel in a dahi chaat? Who refries samosa 10 times which is cold from inside and filled with excess oil?!!! Dabeli was disappointing as well. Poor service too.

This place has fast become one of our go-to spots on Devon. We enjoy going for an evening walk on Devon and stop at this place afterward. I had Rava Dosa here, and although it will be unfair to expect it to be the quality that you would get in Mysore , but it is fairly close enough. You can buy homemade pickles here as well, if you enjoy pickles.

Went here with a friend and we split the Vegetable Platter 3. For $12.99, this platter included two naans, rice, and three vegetables curries of your choice. I had no idea which curries to choose and the cashier was very nice and gave me suggestions. I ended up with the following three vegetables: Mixed Vegetables, Paneer Makhani, and Aloo Gobi. Very delicious - these platters are ideal if you’re trying to try something new of everything. Ambience was also nice - it wasn’t very busy. Despite the previous low reviews, I had a good experience with what I ordered and the service. Will come again to try more options.

Nice dine in place. Crowded understandably because of the weekend. I went on a Sunday. They had All Indian veg variety south, north.I liked the place. They gave you ticket # and callout once the order is ready. That keeps the customer know the status. I thought it was cool.

It’s a small, vegetarian restaurant offering Indian street food and home Food. The chhole batura was okayish but the masala dosa was good. The tea was too ordinary, without any nice aroma/ flavour. The Dahi puri was good though. The staff was not very friendly. The portion size and the price is worth. But the management must put their attentions to the cleanliness, mostly to the restrooms. Visited again: This time got myself a glass of sugarcane juice- it was great

We tried sugar cane juice, and it was good. The restaurant can be a little cleaner other than that everything was good. You can get vegan food here, a good option for vegetarians. Food was average with an average quantity.

It was definitely not a good experience! These were highly priced and they call the green thing in the picture as chutney!? Is this even a paneer dosa? i wouldn’t suggest!

A fast food kind of jaunt for South Indian food. Their dosas are good but not great. The coconut chutney is a disappointment. They do not serve filter coffee but have pan boiled milky coffee (latte), it os a disappointment. They are good for the money spent.

The taste is great like the original taste from Gujarati food. The dhokla and khamen are really good. I will need to order from here quite a few more times. Will have to try the veg biryani and the south Indian food too later.

Today, I'd like to recount my worst experience. We arrived at a restaurant at 8:15 pm, and despite their closing time being 9:00 pm, the food was extremely unappetizing, lacked flavor, and the presentation of their pav bhaji was truly off-putting. When I spoke to the manager, I was taken aback by her response. She explained that the food quality suffered because it was close to closing time. This left me questioning why they were still accepting orders if they couldn't maintain the taste quality.

Nice to see the place with a more modern design. Ordered the Samosa Chat & it was delicious, perfectly piping hot, spicy & crunchy. Love vegetarian food, so looking forward to trying other dishes. However, a bit pricey for chat style food but if all their dishes are high quality & delicious then it's totally worth it.

Been noticing this place for a while cuz of the exotic name. Was passing by on Devon and saw the 100% veg South Indian sign and got an urge for some Dosa, place was decent packed for a Wednesday night. Tried the masala dosa - total disappointment, was cold and was left with heartburn ❤️‍🔥🙄 being on Devon Ave you would think it would be pretty authentic but most Devon places have become a disappointment, could’ve gone to Udupi. Plus almost 11 bucks for a mysore masala dosa was a rip off…Unfortunately, this place left a lot to be desired.

I posted as Jane Newton and u haven’t had an American there but u had me work there but okay I never received paystubs because I was paid “under the table” but I do have pictures of being in the kitchen. I have no means to purposely sabotage a business I’m just sharing my experience and hopefully you guys can make it a cleaner place and a better environment!!! I worked there with my friend Gio and I know you know who I am. Just trying to help improve your business with things u might not know are going on in ur kitchen. And I can assure you they have worn flip flops and have treaded there hair it was disgusting.

The new Annapurna restaurant has changed a lot in menu, prices and quality too. Interior, cleanliness and food is even better than before. I went there with 0 expectation and came back with full stomach and satisfied smile.

If you expect authentic, good quality chaat- please walk over to the other restaurants across the street. I ordered a Dahi Sev Puri and Khasta Kachori Chaat. I was handed 2 similar looking packed boxes. Dry, cold, bland boxes of food, that looked worse than it tasted. The staff couldn’t explain why the kachori chaat didn’t have a Kachori and tried to come up with a justification that’ll only work on Indians who’ve never had chaat. To sum it up- I paid $7 for something that would’ve cost me $4.5 just across the street and would’ve filled my stomach and soul. (They did make me another plate when I fought for it. For that, I give them 1 star)

Overall very good. The menu has many options for snacks, platters, south indian and north indian dishes. We tried samosa, chola bhature, chai and rasmalai. We liked everything except rasmalai. Chole bhature came with halwa which was surprise for us. Halwa was really good. They have token system and service was also fast. Samosa and chai were really good.

Over priced with really bad customer service. Just take out order for 2 dabeli and vadapav took almost 30mints to get cold food. Paid $30.00 for this cold food which I ended up throwing in trash. Not worth to spend your money where you feel not welcomed. The lady on register to seem very rude kept on taking money with making faces like she is forced to work without giving you time to complete your transaction kept on rushing on next customer.

The place is messy comparatively We had ordered casata icecream. All the casata icecream were expired and they weren’t initially ready to return the money. We requested for plain dosa with ghee or butter for the kid, the cashier very rudely denied it. Alongside we placed the order completely jain, even after confirming all the ingredients and eating half things we came to know that it wasn’t jain and the cashier denied that she ever confirmed its jain. Even “Jain” bhel in their menu isn't jain. Horrible experience Please check if they sell expired products.

I ordered a dosa and specified that I wanted it crispy. What I got was a soggy and nauseatingly greasy mess of a dosa. Chutneys came in tiny portions and tasted mediocre. I hardly ever not finish my food but I felt so sick after a couple bites that I had to toss out the entire thing.

Having been to India many times and also being married to an Indian I can say this chat place is amazing. Every time we come the food is so fresh and good. It’s very consistent in taste and quality. Love their fresh pani puri bar too. Continue to go back.

We visited here during our trip to Chicago. It’s a small, vegetarian restaurant offering Indian food. The chhole batura was good but the paneer mutter and malai kofta gravy was flavour less! We also ordered Chapati, it was good too. But couldn’t eat more due to the bland gravies! The tea was too ordinary, without any nice aroma. The staff was friendly. The portion size and the price is worth it, especially for Chole bhature thali. Rava halwa came in with chole bhature, it was smelling bad!

This place has been around forever. I first came here in 1988. From then till now, quality has remained pretty consistent. Having said that, the prices have skyrocketed like many of the other places on Devon. For example, close to $9 for a chaat.. That's pretty outrageous IMO. One more major thing.. very slow service. Expect about 20 to 30 minutes to get your food when they are semi busy.

It is a pretty decent food place at a very reasonable price. The only challenge is that the owner/person-in-charge lacks any welcoming note. That takes away the homey feeling.

Came in for drinks. They had lassi, which I was excited for. The yogurt used is too salty and they used way too much sugar to correct it. I tried the mango, pistachio, and rose. The flavor was good, and would be awesome if and when they fix the sugar offsetting the salt issue. But that's all the drinks they have.

I ordered samosas and it wasn't served until 35 mins as i was told that they are freshly preparing and would take little time. Finally they served frozen samosas which is partially heated and inside masala is completely frozen. I wouldn't suggest this place..

Great place for vegetarian food. We tried the Gujrati thali, Puri bhaji, sugarcane juice and Sitaphal ice cream. I expected the thali to be authentic Gujrati but was a bit disappointed. However, the food tasted great as-is. Sitaphal ice cream was not great. Sugarcane juice was the show stopper

The food used to be so delicious here and the service so friendly. I have literally eaten here hundreds of times. Now, the food takes a long time to be prepared and it tastes three times reheated. Their seasoning is good, and their options are good, but you can tell the food is older. The prices have also gone up by 30%. To add insult to injury, no one is wearing a mask on the staff. They wear it around their neck, I'm guessing in case an official comes in. I truly recommend going kitty corner to Sukhadia's

If you are looking for good Indian snack-type food, this place is sorely lacking. The flavors just don’t work, everything is soo oily, and nothing really tastes fresh. With the menu and ingredients available to them, one would think they could really make wonderfully flavorful dishes, but I think they just aren’t capable. I would highly suggest picking up snacks from Patel Brothers next door, or if you’re up for a drive, head to Moti Cafe in the city, which is awesome. Don’t waste your money and time on this place.

  • 4/5 Evgeny K. 1 year ago on Google
Great place for quick grab of vegetarian food on Davon. If one can find parking nearby. It is of the Indian restaurants that serve in plasticwear in an order and pick up style. Nothing fancy. Unlike most of the other places has outdoor sitting which is a bonus. Food was OK. Still need to decipher the message on the wall :-). Toilet was in pretty bad shape and with limited access. But I would blame the patrons for the former.

  • 1/5 Dhara P. 1 year ago on Google
This place is not just ridiculously overpriced but the food is terrible- especially chaat food. We ordered a samosa chaat from here and there was literally no yogurt (only for snow) and it was DROWNED in chole chana. Also you’d expect there to be 2 samosas right? Well there was only one tiny piece in there which like I said was drowned in the chole sauce which therefore made it super soggy. This place was a super let down- you honestly can’t go wrong with samosa chaat.

Good Indian Vegetarian street food. The south Indian stuff here is not as good as the north Indian/Gujarati stuff. And don't bother with restaurant style dishes (like palak paneer etc). The Mirchi Bajji here is on point. Pav Bhaji, Samosa Chat, etc are all good. If you want the South Indian stuff, go to Udupi Palace, but all the rest of the snacks (or snakes as they say in Gujarati :) ) are on point.

I have had food at this place before and it’s not as bad as this time. We got some dry snacks and everything was stale and looked like it was prepared in old oil. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience this time. I am thinking they are not able to sell their dry snacks due to current situation but I would expect them not to stock their shelves with old products.

One of the worst experience I had from Annapurna on Feb 20th 2021. I tried pani puri which was excessively priced and it was the worst pani puri ever. They gave me cold, no salt, no taste water with it. They had no taste with potatoes in it. I have had better experience before but on this day it was the worst. They need to maintain consistency with their food. I will be hesitant to try here again though.

They sell expired items. Be aware of the food you buy from this place. I bought mango ice cream, after bringing home I saw the product already expired with expiration date in 2020. Purchased on 22nd Jan 2021, the ice cream expired in dec 2020. I don't recommend any thing from this store.

2 stars for food and zero stars for the service and attitude for the people behind the cash counter. The cashier who also made our live pani puri was very rude to us and behaved as if she was favoring us by serving pani puri. She was very frustrated and irritated because she was not able to handle the orders and pani puri servings, both. So she decided to be extremely rude to us. 2 stars are given because the pani puri was nice. We also ordered Idli-sambhar, which was pathetic.

The food was delicious compared to other restaurants. It was our first time at this new place and we ordered pav Bhaji dosa, masala dosa, plain dosa, batata wada. Their coconut chutney was fresh and their Sambhar was delicious too. They have a good ambience and it was maintained clean. We had a small take out too of their deserts. We were a little late too but they accommodated us to dine in. Thanks to the Staff.

The most horrible food I’ve ever had in my life. It had been ages since I had longed for a good thali. The menu card has all the tempting items that you would wish to see in a thali. The first thing... in the name of rice something was served... even today when I think of it I feel like puking. It was not white rice. Something green in color and that too the consistency was like something taken out from freezer and microwaved. Everything else was also tasteless and haphazard. You will have absolutely no idea what goes with what... they had curd, buttermilk, Kheer, and one more white liquid(didn’t even touch that). Hardly 1 or 2 of all the cups were edible that too only with the chappati. God saved me from choosing poori.

I Ate plenty of times at this restaurant, most of the times food was okay. But this time I ordered Malai koftha it was worst malai koftha I ever ate in my life. The koftha was made out of aloo tikki/hash browns and the gravy was watery. Not all value for the money.

The billing desk lady has a lot of attitude. I bought three different varieties of lassis and all are sour and very sweet (to better describe, it is two times sweeter than gulab jamoon). But when I told that lady about that, she didn't say that she will check it but rather she was like there are 500+ people drinking it and what's your problem.
