👍👍 Went shopping to the outlet malls and we were getting hungry and found this place. The location is small with a few tables out front and a couple more on the second landing. Very cozy. The dishes we got were the stuffed cabbage and I got the taste of Poland platter since it had a bit of everything... Went shopping to the outlet malls and we were getting hungry and found this place. The location is small with a few tables out front and a couple more on the second landing. Very cozy. The dishes we got were the stuffed cabbage and I got the taste of Poland platter since it had a bit of everything. The stuffed cabbage adequate, it was ground beef and in a red sauce. The Poland platter, was exceptional. There were so many things in the menu i wanted to try and this platter satisfied. The red potatoes were flavorful as was the smoked sausage. For dessert we had the apple fritter and this alone would be a reason to come back, it was delicious and I highly recommend this dish. Place was full and food was constantly being picked up, so good signs that the food would be delicious.

Wonderful, flavorful dinner at this charming little treasure. We arrived to a packed dining room, but were seated fairly quickly, especially for a Friday night. Service was excellent. Everyone was kind and checked in frequently to make certain we had everything we needed and were enjoying our visit. Like a family dinner. Everything is freshly made each day. We started with fresh, warm bread with butter and apple butter. For the starters, the potato cakes were flavorful and fluffy and the baked deviled eggs were delicious. My daughter said they were the best she’d ever had. The cream of Vidalia onion soup was so flavorful and had an awesome texture. The pork medallions and pretzel chicken were outstanding. Wonderful experience that truly made my birthday special.

Such good food! Got the potato pancakes and an entree that had a lot of variety to it - stuffed cabbage, two pierogi, sausage, pork cutlet. It came with some very fresh bread- three different flavors, rye, plain and another type. Also came with homemade soup which was a cream of chicken with vegetables. I miss it already, can't wait to go back!

I ordered the Polish Platter - LOTS of food! The pierogies (potato/cheese & mushroom), pork cutlet, fresh sausage and sauerkraut were all very good. Golumpki was a bit bland as was the meatball appetizer. Reasonably priced and friendly servers. I will definitely eat here again!

We enjoyed pierogies, stuffed cabbage, and many central European dishes. We ordered a variety and shared everything. The food was great, and we left feeling full. The staff isn't actually Polish - and they should learn a few Polish greetings - but the food was wonderful.

Really good Polish food. The whitefish is amazing! Potato pancakes ok. Pierogi VG. Soups are excellent. And reasonably priced! When we get there after driving in from Chicago, we’re usually starving. They bring the soup and salad right away even when crowded and it is so appreciated! Hope it doesn’t change as it’s one of our faves in a city that doesn’t have that many great restaurants.

Mushroom bread was delicious, pierogies, especially mushroom was excellent. They have a room that accommodates well of 10 or more diners. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and professional with a contagious smile that made our visit very enjoyable. The food was very tasty and made up for the Hostess lack of a courteous smile!

The food was just amazing. We have been coming to Union Pier for four years, and this was the best meal that we have ever had. The service was impeccable, and staff was very accommodating. Highly recommend it to everyone. Very kid friendly.

Simple, perfectly prepared, classic Polish recipes. Pierogi's, potato cakes that were light as air and perfectly crisped. Service was friendly, prompt, and well timed. Czarnina(traditional duck blood soup with noodles) was delicious and unique to the area. We will be back. Highly recommended, and was superb dining experience.

Such a cute restaurant. The food and service couldn't have been better. The mushroom toast was amazing and the bread pudding was by far the best dessert I've ever eaten. The wife and I plan to make a 3 hour detour next year just to enjoy the food again.

The food was aaamazing, warm, and hearty! Server knows exactly what you’ve order and tells you when to expect the food. The place is small but cozy, would love to come back. It’s a good idea to reserve a table become coming. We had a table of five adults and two kids, but ended up sitting separately because their only large table was reserved.

When I walked in, I looked at my girlfriend and told her "this smells just like my mom's kitchen used to". I was in heaven!!! I have been there twice now and the food is by far the best polish food outside of my mom's kitchen. I make homemade kolache and have been told by many people, my kolache are the best they ever had. Well, the Polish Peasant had some of the best kolache I have ever had. I would suggest the Polish Peasant to anyone looking for an excellent Polish meal.

Excellent Polish food, homemade with passion. This is what you eat when invited by good friends in Poland. Just the right thing after a long walk through the Indiana Dunes.

This place is truly amazing. Small, quaint yet really nice and inviting. The staff are really nice and attentive. The food was really delicious. I had a sampler platter and every piece of food and it was spectacular. I am definitely coming back and am going to suggest this place to everyone I meet. Great job to everyone at The Polish Peasant.

The food and service was top notch! The restaurant it self was pleasant but oh so crowded. I hear that the restaurant is relocating to a larger location. I would recommend this place to anyone that enjoys Polish food. It was like returning home to mom’s place!

When I say the food here is great, I’m only saying so because I lack proper adjectives to do it justice. I’m Polish and the food is very authentic and always perfect. The owners are terrific, kind and personable ladies (extra props to the kitchen/cook sister who is fast and efficient and could’ve made a killing during the silent era of film in Hollywood with her “I suffer no fools” facial expressions; love her; also the sister who greets and sits and handles to-go orders is one of the biggest sweethearts around). Their food is always warm and gives you the homemade feels typically reserved for your mom or grandma’s specialty dish(es) on holidays. One fair-warning: you absolutely will wind up addicted and calling their number hopefully during “off-season” until somebody finally picks up in the spring. 😎 No negatives, only positives. Take my money, take it all. Much love to you gals and your delicious enterprise. You single-handedly saved the “local” aspects of eating locally in MC. Please never stop feeding us! ❤️ P.S. Pretzel chicken will change you. With double mashed potatoes and extra white cream sauce to dip your bread into.
