I came with someone to help them get their financial aid and just on this department they need to be organized. Perhaps there is no management here because they do not have a set way to get people in and out. First there is someone asking for documents and getting information, then since it was early in the morning there were 2 people helping with the documents. Then later on other employees showed up to help and they do no have a number system or a general list to go by because the people who just arrived got on their list so they got in front of other people. If there was a general way to do it like the social security office, the DMV or something similar, it would run smoother. And perhaps instead of waiting so long to be sent home because the application cannot be completed because of lack of documents, why not have someone at the front asking and verifying, perhaps have a list on the wall. I liked that they do have valet parking and the county helps, but this department needs help for customers and in return for themselves.

From my personal experience on November 21,2022, Monday. From the moment I walked into the ER department, every employee was a complete idiot. Most ER front desk staff, was from third world countries and it showed. Then, the Dr. I received pertaining to my health situation, told me that they do not do surgery at the hospital. Obviously, not qualified to properly handle physical health situations. Nothing but a money racketeer place. Of course, nothing will ever be done about it. First time for me and last, for sure!!! 0 stars. It's okay, because what goes around comes around.💯

The one star is not for Doctors,Nurses, Technicians all top level staff, They are mostly very nice and cooperative. One department that is bringing this hospital reputation down is the front desk staff, specially financial aid department, patient check in department and mostly appointment scheduling staff they are so so rude and disrespectful towards callers, not once or twice every time I've called to make an appointment for the last 8 years not once I've spoken to a nice person. They do not respect the caller, They act as if they are doing us a favor because they know most cook county hospital patients are poor or low income individuals. My friend Who can't speak English, she is polish yesterday one of the appointment scheduling staff member spoke to her so rudely, she literally had tear in her eyes. Thank God I have recently approved medicate . I will not return to this hospital anymore. But I'll miss all the doctors and other staff members. If the management doesn't take any action about this issue then God helps the patients.

I am currently here just got off the ICU. I’m a vegetarian and they have served me meat every day. I can’t have dairy or gluten due to actual medical reasons and they have been giving me dairy and gluten. Pain management is not something they do here since I was shaking and crying for two hours last night at a pain level 10 before they would give me anything. All I had before that was 5mg oxycodon. I was in the ICU in pain. My room is so hot because I guess you only get AC if you go to a nice hospital. All my doctors are at Rush but the ambulance brought me here so I’m just screwed. I was sent to this hospital from my local emergency room because I needed to see a dermatologist due to my condition. I’ve been here since Friday night. It’s Sunday mid morning now and I still haven’t see the dermatologist and now I have open bleeding sores everywhere.

I came to the emergency room on Sunday the 2nd I was in vacation from MN and I wasn't feeling good this hospital was the first one that appeared in my GPS I got in and the people on the entrance checking the temp were so rude.. then when I told them what was wrong they didn't say anything, they told me I was gonna get a CT scan didn't let me say goodbye to my husband took me in a rush. They were so rude and being telling me I wasn't gonna get my phone from my husband and that I wasn't gonna see him again for the rest of the day I got so freaked out that I got up and left right outside the CT scan doors.. I felt like I was not coming out of the hospital ever again.. something felt sketchy.. thank God I was able to leave.. ended up in another hospital in Edlin IL turns out I didn't need a CT scan I was having a Panic attack. Probably for what this hospital made me feel..don't go here go somewhere else please.

No stars. Actually, it's MINUS 5 stars. This hospital has the worst employees there. No compassion, and no patience. From the gift shop to the nurses to the doctors. And it's been this way since before Covid. It's a madhouse.

My brother was shot on 09/25/2021 he was rushed to Stroger and yes I know the rules when a patient is shot. The hospital was locked down I use to work for a trauma hospital. Nobody notified us as we were standing outside that he was dead. Thank God our cousin was a police officer, because that was how we found out he passed away. We still have know official cause of death as to why he passed away was it something that happened while he was in surgery, because for a whole hour he was fighting for his life. None of the doctors said a worried to us we was never able to see our brother until he was transferred to the corners office. I feel like my family and I deserve an explanation on what exactly happened to him. Our family deserves answers and I will not be quiet until I get the answers we deserve.

The nurses in the emergency department on nights was very rude and disrespectful to the family members. All I wanted was to see my brother and nephew that was in car accident. I was told that I had to wait in the waiting room and they kept telling me 30 minutes every time I asked to see them. I waited over 2 hours before I was to see them. They were literally in their beds for hours before even seeing a doctor so I don’t know why I had to wait that long. I don’t understand why anyone with a negative attitude would work in a hospital. I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.

The care they provide is absolutely horrible. They should be taken away any accreditation and not be allowed to collect money for what they call “services”. My mom has been there for almost two weeks now, when she had problems breathing and was calling for help no one came until she went out to the hallway and my 3 frantic phone calls to the hospital that she needs immediate attention, took them 20 min to call the response on her and she ultimately was ran to the ICU where she spent 5days. And yet for that she had to go out to the hallway to get someone’s attention being covid positive with heart failure. When back to the regular floor for 3 days she was served 1 meal only because for 2 days she was waiting for the test that got cancelled 2 days in a row just to be informed at 2pm and yet not given food until 6pm at dinner time. No snack, sandwich or make up tray. Also not given socks for 4 days and had to walk barefoot in the hospital bathroom. I swear they should loose any accreditation and licensing they have. Oh when I called to complain the charge nurse just kept hanging up on me. She also had a pacemaker inserted 3 month prior in the same hospital and they never let the specialist who did that know about brand new onset of heart failure.

My gf went to go pickup her father at this hospital, after he was out of surgery. She had to pay $5 for parking, valets?? At a hospital??? Noooo ( she only had $3 they just took it. Sounds sketchy!!! )then when she was asking where she needed to go to get her father, a NURSE ASKED HER $2 TO WALK HER THERE. I’m sorry but does this hospital even know what their nurses and employees are doing to people inside the hospital??? Take your family/friends else where. This hospital ain’t right

Who ever is working the referral phone is very unpleasant to speak to. She was curt and refused to take the phone off speakerphone although I could barely hear her. Overall did not seem to want to help and was very quick to put me off the phone without giving all the pertinent info I needed. Please consider a re-training on proper call center etiquette.

Some doctors actually do their jobs and some don't, they're just there to get paid. I guess if you have money or a good insurance you get treated better... I keep coming here because unfortunately I don't have the means to pay out of pocket for my medicine. Like I said it just depends who's working. There be some very compassionate nurses, doctors as well as some rude, unprofessional ones. 😞

Like another reviewer said and I’m sure it happens a lot of people in this hospital I was told all my results came back normal but my blood and urine were not moved from where I left them. I was here from 12:00PM-11:00 PM. Everyone who works here is rude and disrespectful there’s not type of management all the staff is just on their phones or eating while people in the waiting rooms are suffering. Then they want to send you a bill like they did something. Don’t waste your time coming here they should just close this place down at this point.

The scheduling coordination department is complete TRASH. I came for 3 mammogram appointments & the first 2 appointments were not needed! According to the Dr. the receptionist shouldn’t have scheduled me those 2x. So I spent money on Ubers to get to and back from the hospital each time for nothing since the appointments were cancelled. Today I was scheduled for what I was hoping was my mammogram after a year check up, finally and the Dr. nor the receptionist who called to remind me about the appointment bother to mention I had to bring X-rays from Mercy Hospital until I was here. So for the third time they cancelled once I was already here since I didn’t have the X-rays they NEVER bothered to mention. Worse unorganized staff I have had to deal with.

Horrible service. Please do not come here for an EMERGENCY. Waited 6-7 hours in the waiting room. Got to the room and understood completely why the wait was so long. Doctors & nurses standing around chatting and laughing while patients are sitting in their room or the waiting room waiting to be treated. They’re not considerate enough to even update us what’s going on. It’s like they escort you to the room and forget about you . Constantly had to ask for updates on when a doctor would see us or what was even going on . Do not recommend coming here!!!

I'm very unhappy with the parking situation. MY SISTER WAS IN A BAD CAR ACCIDENT AND HAS HAD TO HAVE TWO OPPERATIONS. HER SIBLINGS RESIDE OUT OF STATE, AND SHE ONLY HAS HER HUSBAND AND SON IN CHICAGO TO VISIT HER. THEY CANNOT VISIT VERY OFTEN BECAUSE PARKING IS SO EXPENSIVE.!!. It is thirty five dollars a day, and parking validation was only offered during the day of her first operation to her husband. Then only five dollars of the thirty five dollars was reimbursed. This is a horrible way to treat patients and their families during a traumatic situation when you need your family. After her second operation she woke up alone, and the call button was out of reach, she needed help, thankfully, she had her phone, and was able to call the hospital and have them put her through to the nurses desk. Her husband would have been there to help her if the hospital would provide proper, affordable parking.

I have not been here in years but every single time that I have went I've been able to be seen and get any medications or anything that I may have needed. Yes, there is a excruciating wait and obviously, it can be a bit ghetto but that's here nor there. My reasoning for writing this review is because I called today August 17 2022 to get some information about insurance as well as setting up an appointment. Unfortunately, the individual that was working the appointment scheduling station around 4:06 when I called had the worst customer service!!! When I asked a question and explained to him how I was somewhat confused (because he was using medical terminology) he would respond with a slightly raised voice, that was full of annoyance. If you guys would like I can come up there and run a customer service course for the people that need it. No One calling the hospital wants to deal with anybody's trifling attitude!! I highly recommend replacing him.

I called to set up an appointment for a CT scan. The referral was from a doctor outside Cook County Health, so they told me I would have to come in and make an appointment. I get to Stroger mind you I don’t live 5 minutes away. The ride there took an hour and fifteen minutes, because of traffic. I get to the radiologist department and the lady rolled her eyes and said she didn’t take walk-ins. She handed me the same number to call to make an an appointment. I wasn’t looking for a walk-in, but don’t tell me to drive out all the way to Stroger to make an appointment. To then hand me the same number I called earlier. The whole Cook County Health is a joke. They staff clearly needs better training and that goes for everyone. The financial department is always in a bad mood. You ask questions around the hospital and they treat you like you cussed in their face.

Worst experience ever happened at this visit. We had to wait for so many hours, just to get to ER. And someone collected blood for the lab that has been left in the counter for so many hours. And they claimed that all her lab results were fine. It took them 2 hrs to bring her back from cat scan, cause they don’t have enough staff. It sucks to have this kind off service, and pay large bills.

Horrible!!!!!! Was there with my boyfriend at the emergency room since 5:30 pm for x-ray because he’s feet was hurting pretty bad, we were seen by a doctor around 11pm told us he need it an x-ray around 11:30 he got the x-ray around 2am and that’s because I ask them why it was taking so long after notice that others patients were getting there x-rays first before us and that’s because they were there after us and some were even getting discharged. After 2am we waited until 3am to get the results and it took them another 30 minutes for them to tell us we can go home that everything look good in his x-rays. It took them so long for doctors to tell us what was wrong but financial aid was there taking our information for billing less then 10 minutes. Room was dirty and everything else was dusty. Worst experience ever!!!

I have to say one of the worst hospitals in Chicago. My grandma recently did a back surgery, and her experience there was awful. The nurses do not care about actually taking care of the patients they are horrible. My mom was sleeping in the same room as my grandma because my grandma does not speak english, and none of them know how to do their job. One of the nurses kicked out my mom at 2am, and my mom that day did not even have a car. This is a good example of people who are in healthcare just for the money and not the patients. If you want a nice, clean hospital with people who do not give you attitude than do not go here.

Don't ever go to the Awake cafe. They have the most rude and horrible staff. Maria is clearly an immigrant, she feels herself above her countrymen. They overcharge for sandwiches and drinks. And you have to pay for ice and condiments, even if you purchase a drink. The woman made faces at an elderly person with a walker in front of me. She should not be working with the public with such a lousy attitude. It's a shame that there that there is no manager on site. Zero zero zero bad attitude and bad service.

In the emergency room. Of course all hospitals have wait times. The EKG tech Alex customer service was EXCEPTIONALLY EXCELLENT! Even while in pain she got me to crack a few smiles while giving me part of the service I need in order to feel better. Thanks a million Alex for your great quality of service 💯🤟🏾

Best attention. The doctors and nurses were kind, compassionate and very professional with me. Just one week ago I went to another hospital with a severe abdominal pain and they didn't do anything for me, just they reccomend me to drink mylanta and tylenol but my pain didn't stop for days, I had contractions pain in my belly. Thanks god I decided to come here and after an ultrasound they see that I have adenomyosis. Finally, I found the light in the end of tunnel and I will have the right treatment. Thanks to these doctors who really care about their patients and thanks to the nurse who was so kind and caring.

There are no options for a negative star. The only facility i know where the nurses are terrible people. Nurses are supposed to be THE MOST CARING INDIVIDUALS in the health industry but not here. Some units which i will not mention have the worse nurses on the floor. These nurses are the most lazy nurses i’ve seen. They will bicker and argue amongst themselves to a point of almost fist fighting. I feel so bad to the patients that are admitted in this hospital. Chicago has alot of hospitals, go somewhere else other than going here. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

As someone with no health insurance and had an accident where I thought I broke my knee and was in a lot of pain to walk I needed to get it checked out with little out of pocket cost. Yes the wait times are hella long I spent 6hrs in total and it can get kinda ‘ghetto’ but I was taken care of, the nurses were surprisingly really friendly to me and thankful after an X-ray examination I didn’t break anything. If you’re also a broke millennial with zero health insurance and in dire need of an ER visit I’d recommend this place.

If you work there be prepared to be bullied every shift you work. The most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. The staff will treat the travelers so poorly. I don't care if they offer me a million dollars I will never go back. The hospital is also dirty environmental services do not do there job. And nurses don't follow rules and pretty much run the hospital. Doctors are also disrespectful and look down on you like your trash. I was called racial slurs almost everyday I worked.

Cook County Hospital is the only Hospital to touch me, of course Cook County Hospital going to get some bad reviews, because the people in the Hospital they hired for intakes. But the Nurses and the Doctors have a big heart about people health once the examine you. They make sure everything go right with you. I am a 68yr old woman, at 4 years old, Cook County Hospital will not let me leave out of their hospital, after I got hit by a truck until I can walk right and think right. They kept me in there for a whole year until I am normal. So you people who come there for the first time, for your problems after covid-19 in 2020, giving Cook county a bad review at the intake of your problems at the front desk are not your issue. Cook county is my rate of 10pt. above any hospital,

Garbage hospital with garbage staff . You’re better off dying than getting attended by these lazy bums . Literally spent 10 hours in ER!!!!!!! Close this Poor excuse of a hospital down !! My mother waited from 12:35 pm OCT 05 to 3 am OCT 6-2023 . They left her blood and urine sample in the same place she placed them . Then they tell her that her results came back fine . This hospital is full of lazy workers . Fire them all ! Bunch of workers that aren’t fit to work in the medical industry.

Worst hospital experience in Chicago. For an eye infection and tooth pain I wasn’t even looked at for 4 and a half hours. Only because I went to the nurses and complained. Mind you one of the doctors told me the order you wait in can change at any time. That waiting 6+ hours is not unusual here. They sent me to a room where I waited ANOTHER 45 minutes to even be seen. To wait ANOTHER 45 minutes. To be seen about my second issue. I came in this building at 11:30 in the morning. It’ll be 7pm when I leave. Thank god I was in no immediate danger. I’d be dead.

I have a call the primary care department today December 22 exactly at 12:07 PM. The person on the phone did not even want to listen to me she even hang up on me on the phone which was so rude I was left with my tears on my face I couldn’t believe, the doctor and nurses are very nice but people on the phone. Some of them need to be trained. I’m so disappointed.

Went to the emergency room and this is literally the worst hospital ever. The staff and even the nurses are VERY rude. Do not go here they don’t care about anyone. I went w an eye injury and told me go home and take ointment instead of doing a ct scan to assure there was nothing in the eye itself. To get a different opinion I came to a different hospital west suburban medical on the west side Austin IL areas and they did a phenomenal job from when u first arrive everyone shows u caring treatment. Cool county hospital it’s just a disgrace

Don't let them put that buckle on your eye! ( explained experience down below ) Very strange activity going on at this place. Only 2 workers out of everyone I seen there were actually nice and talkative. They took a while to send me to the eye care area where a specialist wrote a note to send me directly to. Some strange doctor kept walkin in and asking me questions and walking out and then when i was being escorted to the eye doc area he walked up and was asking what am I doing when I was literally walking with one of the doctors lol. The specialist said I only needed a laser surgery to close & heal the small hole in my retina. These doctors kept flashing lights in my eyes. It was as if they liked doing it then a doctor who called himself dr shock " shaukat " ( meaning personification of wickedness ) walked in last and started talking about doing a " buckle " surgery on my eye. He said I could do laser or buckle but he decided on his own that he would decide to do the buckle. He then mentioned that the surgery was obsolete at other hospitals and that they still do it. he also kept saying its not guaranteed it won't get infected, have problems, or actually fix what theyre working on. Kept dodging questions. Wouldn't say his full name. He was supposed to text it to me but he didn't. He said he didn't know his way around the hospital so he had to get his head doctor to bring us out. The old dude looked at me and was like " oooo young one we got a young one " and dr shock was looking at him smiling and whatnot. CRINGE. didn't introduce himself either. don't let this hospital operate on you. They aren't professional. People were in there laying in beds complaining saying they aren't bringing them food, drinks, etc The name being cook county just had me feeling it was gonna be bad. I saw the building looked nice felt a bit better. First lady I seen that helped us out was nice. Everyone else was weird then there was a lady who took pictures of my eyes with some screen and she was pretty nice too. Everyone else was weird vibes, didn't know what they were talking about. Idk man don't let them put a buckle on your eyes. a detatched retina is not the same as a small hole in retina. It's still problematic and should be checked out but don't let these people put you under for hours to work on your eye. They are lying here.

I was having a long day and back to back appointments. My last appointment was at gynecology clinic. Mrs Regina Bedell from registration gave me a pen since my birthday was around the corner. She went out of her way and unknowingly made my day so much better! She went above and beyond to make patients feel comfortable and welcomed. She also did her best at communicating with the Spanish speaking patients. Being kind and understanding is great patient service!

4 stars since they saved my life but they do have a lot of people in need and you must advocate for yourself constantly, especially in their finance dept. I've been there as a visitor, translating for family to avoid their extra long lines with translator, in-patient and out-patient for decades. If my life was in immediate danger hell yes they know how to handle it all but if it's a consult or follow up I would definitely go elsewhere. I do hear from people that their wait time is much smaller for the ER.

Surgeon was great, this hospital and staff are awful. I'm still here after they begged me to stay only to ignore me again. I had to walk out to get help each time after a surgery, by the way. Went hours with out my IV and meds staff "too busy" ... I had to throw a tantrum to get the IV and meds added back, almost walked to the er to get help.

So, I was on my way to my appointment. I fell in the mud on the island between the parking & the Hospital. A stranger was kind enough to offer help, he then went to get help. Five Men that worked at the hospital came to help me. Two of the men helped me get up, (every time I tried I’d fall back in the mud). They were incredible!!! I appreciate them & their help more than they’ll ever know. Afterwards, I was considering rescheduling my appointment. One of the men said, if you’re not hurt you’re, already here. I continued to my appointment with the bariatric Surgeons, covered in mud. I am so thankful, that we made the appointment. The devil may have tried to be stop me, but thank to those men, the devil didn’t succeed. It happened today between 2:00pm - 2:15 pm 10/25/2022.

Cook County hospital (Stroger) is one of the most horrific places I have ever been too. When you walk in there it's like a time warp back to what things looked like in the early 1900s. The wheel chairs look like what you would find in a horror movie, the ones that move and creak by themselves, tiny rooms with zero privacy, no air conditioning. Granted this was in the late 90s and I only am now reviewing. Has anything changed?

My experiences in this hospital have not been so good, they assign you appointments at times that they never keep, they sit you waiting for hours in an office, the specialists live very busy, I don't know why they assign appointments if they don't have the capacity to care for the patient, you're welcome. They serve good receptions if they make you wait and wait for the doctors to have some time in their agenda and then they treat you for 10 minutes and everything is fine with you

Went to visit two friends that were injured in a motorcycle accident. The staff at the front desk were friendly BUT my husband and I were super confused getting around the hospital and we asked three different hospital staff, wearing badges how to get to a certain floor and all we got were shrugged shoulders and an “I don’t know,” and they walked away. I have worked in hospitals before and I am sorry but that is NOT an acceptable answer. Thankfully a very polite nurse saw our frustrations and took us straight to where we needed to go. Her name is Agnes, she works on the Burn ICU on the 3rd floor and was so helpful and kind. When we were leaving, once again we were clueless on how to exit to the lobby area, and a sweet girl from Physical Therapy named Elise stopped, took her time and walked us over to the correct elevator. Even though she was new and didn’t know where some areas were, she was still super nice and took the time to help us. Staff like Elise and Agnes made the visit pleasant. Thank you ladies!!!

The nurse was swearing at my mom because she used the bathroom on her own. Then her phone was stolen while she was sleeping. Please take your loved ones anywhere else if you care about them. My mom asked the lady for help if she could open her apple sauce they told her(Not my Job ) and walked away.

Worst customer service ever. They do not care about their patient and their patients well-being. These people working here, only go there to clock in and get a paycheck. This hospital is so on humane. Places like these need to be shutdown for good. I don't wish for my worst enemy to go here.

pathetic, unprofessional, ignorant, improper, incompetent, inefficient, lax, negligent, unethical, amateur, amateurish, inadequate, inexperienced, inexpert, nonexpert, unfitting, unsuitable, untrained, unworthy. Er ok, surgeon ok, physical therapy useless, nurses horrible. I came to this hospital with an ankle injury 2 days after Thanksgiving 2022 Had ankle surgery a few days later. Question..if you put a cast /splint after surgery why would you remove it a week after. Needless to say I've had a few setbacks for example the boot didn't fit, I'm only a size 13 and i ended up getting a xl boot no 2xl , I truly feel bad for people that have feet bigger and wider than mine.. this would be the part where the health (care) comes in ...I informed them the boot didn't fit right but they didn't suggest anything. Fine..I bumped my foot a couple of times without the boot(because it didn't fit) another setback. I had to figure out alot on my own, doctors and nurses should engage more be more informative we are people not hamburgers, hot dogs and fries. Long story short. I go to my appointment June 1st 9:30am everything is great after all this time(6 months) my foot is feeling great were getting somewhere, I go see the nurse she's about to be done looking at my foot (Doc didn't even bother to come check it out didn't bother me at all, just wanna go home and care for my foot...what does the nurse do... basically twist my ankle hard with her gorilla hands just another setback... Pathetic

I gave 2 stars because the hospital budgets cuts are evident in the essential department. I was there for chest pains and the staff was ok. The food was ok. The nurse tried to be nice but didn't know I didn't eat pork. So that didn't work. Any way, I wanted to freshen up and they didn't have basic essentials for that. I find that to be odd based on the number of homeless and diseases patients they deal with on a regular basis. Not only that they are billing my insurance for these things that should be available. What happened to the bath pans, tooth brushes, paste, lotion, mouth wash and deodorant. Also towels. What's going on Toni Preckwinkle?

My boyfriend was admitted and in the ICU. From the very first call it was a terrible experience. I was told he was not in the system by the operator who quickly and rudely hung up on me. I then called back 20 min later and was fortunate to speak to someone else during shift change- my boyfriend was admitted on a Thursday and I did not get a call from any doctor until Saturday. While he was still conscious he commented that some of the nurses were rude and treated him as if was asking them to do things out of their job responsibilities. Mind you he was very sick and couldn’t even get off of the bed. After several days there he passed away and the worst customer service came then. His items were not with patient relations, eventually we retrieved partial items thru funeral home and discovered his cellphone and charger were missing and that we had been given someone else’s clothing and shoes (along with his). Patient relations rep Marisol told me that it was my dead boyfriends fault for taking his cellphone with him when he knew there was a phone in his room and hospital was not responsible even tho they couldn’t explain where his phone could be. He had been intubated so it was not possible for him to “safe keep” his own phone. It should have been retrieved and placed w the rest of his items at the point they knew he’d be unconscious. She also instructed me to “throw away” the other set of clothing and shoes that were not his. I’m sure someone else’s family might have wanted the clothing of their loved one back. She said they would not take the items back. This is a trash hospital with people who’ve lost their humanity. She tried to give us the run around about missing items and found herself caught in lies. After we informed her we had an attorney available to discuss why she wouldn’t release the paper she claimed to have stating that all his belongings were given to our funeral director, an hour later the phone was found. When you loose a loved one unexpectedly the last thing you should worry about are where their items are and how they went missing in a hospital setting. Especially when it’s the last of the things you will have to remember them by. The way they handled my deceased boyfriend’s items and the responses to our family is unacceptable. Where is the compassion and kindness for the patients and their families? Once we started requesting medical records and explanations for things their smiles went away and the attitudes started coming.

This hospital is by far the biggest waste of tax payers dollars. There phone receptionist rarely answers and when the call is answered it’s often with a discourteous, and disdainful tone. Our families utilize this hospital for care. My father is a cancer patient and has repeatedly gone to and from this hospital and received TERRIBLE services. He is now waiting for yet another procedure that physicians claim he needs. It has been 9 hours. They made him register and sat him in a cold room, waiting to be admitted. This IS NOT the epitome of equitable and STANDARD CARE. Would you like your loved ones famished, uncomfortable and freezing cold for 9 hrs ? Is that acceptable? I do not care, this hospital might as well be closed. Does no GOOD FOR the lower socioeconomic class.

I went to this hospital a few years ago and they have doctors or nurses wheeling patients outside on beds instead of in whe chairs .and went there for the dentist and when I finally got back there after like 4 hours I had to get a wisdom tooth pulled and the guy that did it pulled on my gums and I started crying and all he said is are you ok and I'm sorry I will never ever come back to Illinois and go to Stoger hospital again

Worst experience ever! Went there because my doctor sent me and she told them I was coming and I waited almost 7 hours in the waiting area and was never seen! They kept taking all the migrants and making us wait. So I left and was never seen. The staff there needs to do better and to be retrained.

It takes all day I have my appointment at 10am. I get out of there almost at 5 pm. They keep making excuses We don’t have enough stuff Is a lot of patients ( they should be able to manage the appointments better) We only have one technician The technician is on break The machine broke We waiting on the doctor And then the nurses (stuff) that were there they have a nasty attitude if they don’t like to be there I don’t think they force them to work. The patients don’t have anything to do with this

The people that worked with me were wonderful. I am by myself, and injured my ribs, and I was incredibly nervous about it. They walked through every possibility and kept me feeling a lot calmer than before I had gotten there. It took a long time, but I really appreciated the care I received. Paris C. had given me a pain shot, and was easily one of the nicest nurses/doctors I have ever interacted with.

My brother received the best care from the surgical cardiovascular team at Stroger. They personalized his treatment to his specific needs. I was greeted by a team of Doctors who worked around the clock to make sure he was comfortable and healing. He had two valves replaced on his heart, an infection in his lungs that traveled into his blood making him septic. There was a lot going on but every area was being looked after. The team of Doctors answered all my questioning and even listened to my request. He had quality care you can tell he wasn't just a test subject but they treated him with dignity I am thankful for the team in SICU.My family appreciates all the hard work and dedication.

My sibling got the best consideration from the careful cardiovascular group at Stroger. They customized his treatment to his particular necessities. I was welcomed by a group of Doctors who worked nonstop to ensure he was agreeable and recuperating. He had two valves supplanted on his heart, a contamination in his lungs that went into his blood making him septic. There was a great deal going on yet every region was being taken care of. The group of Doctors addressed all my scrutinizing and surprisingly paid attention to my solicitation. He had quality consideration you can tell he wasn't only a guinea pig however they treated him with nobility I'm grateful for the group in SICU.My family likes all the difficult work and commitment.

This hospital DOES NOT care about you, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. If I could give this hospital like -20 stars I truly would. Calling to schedule an appointment at this hospital is equivalent to calling McDonald’s or any other blatantly rude and disgusting restaurant. How sad is that? I’ve been hung up on and ignored on more than MULTIPLE occasions— even my previous PRIMARY CARE doctor hung up in my face before! The entire staff needs to utterly be replaced; repulsive attitudes— just rude, the unprofessionalism is beyond me— How dare you hang up on patients trying to get assistance with their HEALTH. EGREGIOUS. I’ve tried reporting my concerns to the higher ups —Constance Toliver, the patients director at stroger ect ect and nothing changes— She didn’t even bother to follow up with me after my second complaint to her. This is absolutely THEE WORST and most DISGUSTING hospital I’ve ever experienced in life. This hospital needs to be SHUT DOWN. Don’t do it.

I went to the ER on a Friday night and was seen in under 2 hours. Doctors were attentive and helpful. Nursing staff was awesome. I had actually prepared myself to wait for 9 hours but was pleasently surprised. I will be back. Thank you to the entire staff

Even though the phone services are only good sometimes, it’s almost impossible to get in touch with your doctor, and you have to wait really long to schedule apts….. I had surgery here today and every single Doctor and nurse was amazing. Thank you Dr.Abcarian and Dr.Ali, also my nurses Michelle and Natalia G.

I must commend Charlotte from the Discharge Team for her immaculate cleaning, sanitizing and attention to detail. The room was filthy. Charlotte cleaned everything top to bottom, flipped over the bed, cleaned the top of cabinets and light fixtures, underneath things, she clearly takes pride in her work. Period.

Waited over 3 hours and didn’t even get seen. Waited 30-45 minutes to get triaged, then 2 hours before getting called back with a group of four other people…only to go to another waiting room. Waited for another 30-45 minutes before I was called for registering my insurance… I left shortly after that without being seen and traveled to the urgent care near my house. Glad it was a minor infection and that I wasn’t dying, but I was still in pretty bad pain. Only came here because my symptoms were worsening on my way to work (abdominal pain, fever, nausea, faintness) and this ER was on the way, but definitely won’t be back. The biggest issue I have is that it wasn’t just me; everybody was getting a similar treatment. I don’t think anyone went back the entire time we were waiting. Staff was hit or miss. Some were nice, but most seemed jaded and insensitive. The hospital didn’t seem understaffed either; in fact I saw a fair amount of staff just standing around not doing anything. it just seemed like there are not enough rooms for patients. Still not a reason to take out a bad mood on the patients. The check-in lady sitting in the middle was particularly mean. She got agitated with me when I didn’t immediately stand in front of her station despite the family ahead of me still trying to move away. Like, did she want me to push someone else’s baby stroller out of the way? She also ignored me for a full 30 seconds after asking for my ID to slowly pull out food and stuff from her desk so I just kinda stood there holding it up to her while I waited.

👍👍 I’m actually flabbergasted at how incredible of an experience this was for me. This is the absolute first time I had a covid test of any kind. So I was already apprehensive as I was going in.
