Today, my fiance came in for trouble breathing and concerns in airway. Was taken for x-rays and blood test in timely manner. Despite taking testing in a timely manner, we have been waiting the waiting room for five hours. Multiple people have came after us and somehow have taken priority over someone who is having trouble breathing? Considering taking legal action for negligence. Do yourself a favor and go to another hospital that's in network.

I and my family have been patients at Gotlieb for over thirty years, My mom was treated here for cancer, and my father was also treated here as well. I in fact delivered my son here. To say the least the overall hospital and professional building is wonderful. However the ER DEPARTMENT needs to be overhauled 7hour waits, registration staff not the kindest and there is no transparency at ALL….., they prefer to keep you waiting than notified. I do not think it is the nurses they are pleasant, but the Dr’s need to be reviewed and audited. Thinking about changing organization’s for my own elder care….

“This is the place you go to die”, shouted several people waiting to be seen in the emergency room. This hospital is slow, inefficient, uncaring, and HIGHLY INEPT. My son went there for stitches, and the care he received was TERRIBLE. They didn’t clean the wound well, and they never prescribed him any medication, but they sent him home with paperwork stating he needed an antibiotic. In addition, our doctor (not affiliated with Gottlieb) told us that the stitches were put in so poorly and tightly that my son needed an additional week to properly heal. The stitches were also administered very sloppily. For so many years, this hospital has been known as one of the worst hospitals around. They haven’t changed a bit, and I wouldn’t take my enemy there. If you care about yourself and your loved ones, AVOID THIS HORRIBLE HOSPITAL. They are rude, uncaring, and inefficient.

If I could give the ER a zero or maybe a negative rating that would be more accurate. AVOID THIS NIGHTMARE OF AN EMERGENCY ROOM AT ALL COSTS. REPEAT AT ALL COSTS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! When I say that this ER is one of the worst that you could ever go to believe me. I brought my 80-year-old dad here because he exhibited signs of Covid-19. We arrived at 5:30pm and do you know he was there 6.5 hours and still did not see a doctor. The waiting room was beyond packed. It was a lady that was there for so long she fell asleep on the floor. Staff didn't bring her a blanket or anything even after it was suggested by multiple people. Nurses and other staff came and went so much until I lost count. If your name was called it was a miracle. For those that did get called, it wasn't for a room or to see the doctor it was for the initial registration or to only take vital signs. Patients were sent back to the waiting room and were told once a bed became available they would immediately be seen. Well, that never happened. My dad NEVER saw a doctor. NEVER!! He was left cold, hungry, unfairly treated (along with the other patients there), and still not knowing what was truly wrong with him. When I say this hospital has MESSED OVER THE WRONG ONE baby watch me work! By the time I get through filing my complaint the whole ER will be revamped from the top to the bottom. Oh, and did I say that I'm educated in this area, it's my specialty, so I will GET it done! Joint Commission, leadership, and whoever else get ready!

My son was brought into this hospital after being shot in his chest, when I get to the hospital I was told to go home and they were gonna call me because officers was in the back with my son and not knowing if he was dead or alive why would I leave, after one dr come out and tell me the same things about police which when I talked to the officers they never said this and I asked this dr is my son at least ok his response was NO HES NOT that’s all I can tell you and he said this with an attitude, so moments later 4 officers take me in the room one pulled my son picture up on his phone and says oh he’s deceased 😢 no compassion, empathy or anything just like that my son is dead, they allowed random ppl to walk in this room where I just found out my son was gone forever!! This was the worst experience ever the hospital and the officers were terrible. I still don’t know when my son passed away I have no closure, did he pass in the ambulance, hospital, bowling alley I mean my child was just a static to these ppl

the slowest service imaginable, with a host of some of the rudest doctors i've ever experienced, not to mention how aggro a lot of the staff is for no reason? like, you'll ask what times are available for appointments and say "oh can i have the one in the afternoon on the 5th?" and get a response like "there wasn't an afternoon appointment available that day" and when you go "oh i thought you said there was one at 3 that day, i'm sorry" they'll say "3 is not the afternoon, you need to be accurate when you speak." like girl WHAT? this has happened more than once. or you show up for an appointment, write your name on their clipboard (because that's how they work, off of CLIPBOARDS like we live in the 80s), and they will just miss your name and go onto the next clipboard, then count you as late and not let you go to your appointment. doctors will just straight up accuse you of lying to them, or tell you to stop talking about why you're there because they don't have time for you to explain. did pt and apparently because i wasn't visibly crying from pain it meant i wasn't in pain, so not only did they not give me an ice pack for after, they kept making coments like "well clearly you're not as bad as you thought" so I just never went back and spent over two years nearly bedridden from pain, until a doctor (not at gottleib) had the genius idea to - gasp - do an mri because NOT ONE DOCTOR AT GOTTLEIB HAD THOUGHT TO DO SOMETHING THAT SIMPLE. missed one (1) call because I was at work, when they called back, I got attitude like "wow you're a hard person to get ahold of. you do know why i'm calling right, i mean YOU were the one who said this was a good time to call" yeah like six months ago when I put the request in. just nonsense behavior constantly with doctors who are super lazy. hard pass. go anywhere else (except loyola, because they own this hospital and utterly ruined it).

If you want your medical care to be mass confusion from nurse to doctor to social worker then this is the place! For some reason my family keeps coming here even after they killed my Mom, Brother, Aunt and Uncle. My father is last man standing and they are trying to kill him now. Here is a funny excerpt about their social work services from their website (we should sue for false advertising): Our experienced and compassionate social workers provide the following services: Counseling services Crisis intervention Discharge planning I spoke to a social worker who said she had nothing to do with Discharge planning. She kept repeating "do you want to speak to a doctor" as she spoke over me. There was no experience or compassion. Just laziness and rudeness. Although I know all of your SOPs are ancient and lead to you being the worst hospital in the Midwest I have to ask, why do you switch Social Workers when a patient switches rooms? It is about the stupidest process I have ever heard of. You talk to one person who says they will contact you for this and that and knows your situation and then you switch to a totally useless social worker who decides after one day the family does not have to be contacted b/c their 82 year old father who is on pain killers is competent.

The ER is terrible. I took my dad at 4am because he couldn’t breath and when we got there it was only 6 people ahead of us. They drew blood, did some x-rays etc. and it hit 7am and they still had not given him a room. The girl at the front desk had an attitude and didn’t know how to give answers for anything. They couldn’t even give us a paper stating he was there so we could take it to his doctor. One of the nurses also had an attitude and wasn’t being clear when giving instructions so she started getting mad. This personnel needs something better and they need to get it together.

I understand hospitals get busy and patients are seen as fast as possible. Not here however. So many people before me in the ER waiting room, no one getting called up. I seen nurses leaving by the boatloads but no patients receiving care!! Never have I ever been to a hospital that was so slow at receiving patients than this one. The triage nurse was in way over her head, which is ridiculous. She got blood all over my work pants. This is one ER that the area could do without. I RECOMMEND RUSH OAK PARK, it’s a bit farther away but worth the drive. With quick receiving times, and way nicer/more professional staff than this sorry excuse for an ER is.

We had to bring my 95 year old aunt in because she’s experiencing what the doctors say “the stages of death”. My sister and father were back there and they only allow 2 people. Which is fine. My sister came back to get me and my fiancé, just in case to say our goodbyes. And we said we’d swap my dad out. When we got there my dad was talking to the doctor and some lady with red hair wasted no time in telling us “there’s only two people allowed back here” we said “yes we know my dad was just leaving”. My dad was finishing up talking to the doctor and the red haired lady kept staring a hole into our room. Finally she came back and said it again. I said “WE KNOW. MY AUNT MIGHT DIE. CAN YOU SHOW A BIT OF COMPASSION?” The doctor in the room apologized for her behavior. But she still kicked out my fiancé. It wasn’t even two minutes that my father left. Not to mention they don’t know anything. Because the caring receptionists at the front, told us we might be able to visit her if once she got admitted and one person would be allowed to stay. The people in the er in the back said nobody is allowed to go up and visit or stay the night. So there’s so much uncertainty I hate this hospital. Take your loved ones somewhere else.

My mother was referred to the ER by the immediate care center on North Ave. She was instructed to go through ER to be admitted for an infusion of antibiotics for the cellulitis in her foot. My mom arrived about 530pm and at 1030pm was still sitting in the waiting area waiting to be seen. She was sitting there with the same group of people that were there when she walked in. My mom is diabetic and approached someone at the desk and asked if someone could get her something to eat or drink, her needs were not met. I had to contact someone through the ER number to get someone to tend to her diabetic needs. Someone by the name of Emily answered the call, I asked if she was the person in charge, I'm still unsure of whether she was or not as she did not mention her job title. She lacked compassion and understanding and when I was done giving her the details of who my mom was and that she was diabetic and needed some assistance to keep her sugar up, her response was I'll check into it. The tone of her voice told me she was just going to hang up and ignore my request. So I demanded someone help my mom. She did go out into the waiting area and brought my mom a sandwich and a diet soda, she called my mother's name out loud in the waiting area which is fine but then proceeded to share out loud that my mother's daughter called and said she was diabetic and needed something to eat. She was very condescending when she shared this information. My mom was appreciative of the help but said the tone of the women's voice was very unpleasant. By 1130 my mom was still waiting to be seen so we decided it was in her best interest to go home and call her family doctor in the am and follow his instructions. This is not the first time my parents have had such a poor experience in the Gottlieb ER. This seems to be an on going issue for the past few years that apparently hasn't been resolved.

This place is a dump, with 2 other people in the waiting room for emergency it took 3+ hours. Rude receptionist at the front intake desk, rude intake nurse. This place needs to be shut down. Go to a different hospital if you want decent service.

The hospital needs more personable personnel and individuals who will be clear with their patients, who are ill and have been waiting for more than nine hours. To be told at the end, all beds in the ER are not available and will not be available. Elderly patients in wheelchairs, extremely hot in the waiting area for many, many hours, and patients without care. After nine hours, midnight, we went to St. Mary's Hospital in Wicker Park, close to home, where patients matter.

Horrible ER, I have never been to a worse hospital than this. It took more than 7 hours to be seen and no one knew any updates as to how much longer we needed to wait. I don’t expect to be in and out of a hospital fast but come on not 7 hours to be seen not counting the time in the room and waiting for results. This will be the last time I come to this ER. Good luck in keeping this place open for much longer if this situation keeps on. I respect the doctors taking their time with each patient but I doubt that they are in the rooms that long, I was not born yesterday and I have been to many other hospital and have never gone through this. I gave it one star to start my post but I would have given zero if possible.

Shout out to the staff and nurses of the GI lab. The nurses were all very professional. They provided wonderful care and were very thorough in their work. Dr. Kassim did a great job as well. I'm very thankful for their care.

My father is in there now. Having difficulty with the laziness of nurses. Doctors say their concerns but doing nothing. He is week and can't get out of bed, sat in his peeded up bed 8 hours. The food is horrible and always cold. People warned me about how bed this hospital is but paramedics wouldn't take him anywhere else. I pray he comes out alive.

If you need help with a mental health issue I advise you go to somewhere else. The security/public safety workers use excessive force. Chipped a bone in my elbow as well as dislocated it. I understand you guys couldn't make it as cops but relax , u don't have to take it out on the people looking for help when going threw difficult times.

This is the worst ER in America. Brought my friend in for a serious concussion at 2:00AM on 8/22/21. He had been puking for 3 hours straight and we were concerned that it was more than just a concussion. Upon arriving, the lobby was full and many ambulances kept pulling in. After a long time, we found out that other patients had been waiting for 6-8 hours already. Many people began leaving including a woman in labor for 7 hours and a child with a severe allergic reaction causing his face and throat to swell; he had been waiting for 8 hours. My friend was taken back to have his temperature and blood pressure taken, then sent to the lobby for a few hours, then received a CT and from a nurse. There was never a doctor available to give him his results. The woman at the desk was unhelpful as we had asked her to ask nurses to come talk to us many times, and they said they would but the woman at the desk could never say how long anything would take. By 7:30 AM, we finally decided to leave and get some sleep after receiving no treatment and no results from the CT. I will be suing the hospital if we are charged for this emergency room visit as they did nothing. I could have taken him to a Walmart to get his temperature and blood pressure taken. Go to literally any other ER possible. Also the parking sucks.

Do not send your love one here. If I could give it negative star, I definitely would. Staffs are very rude. Emergeny nurses and emergency charge nurse are yelling at you because you want information from your loved one. They will not even tell you their name. Nursing supervisor will hang up the phone so they don’t have to deal with you. ER doctors are also no help because they will just keep the phone on hold until the same ER nurses answer your call and yell at you more. One “doctor” I think he said his name was Dr. O’conner told me that the patient was never there and hang up the phone. You will not be seen by the right doctor for the reason you are sent to the ER. Discharge instructions/summary are a joke. It does not provide any useful information after getting sent home from ER. No resources, whatsoever.

At the end of May,,my 99 yr. young Mother fell for the first time,, and without realizing as she lay on the grass laughing,,that she had broken her hip. From the moment I called 911,, the service was Impeccable. I asked for no sirens to worry our neighbors and the request was granted. Thank You!! The ambulance arrived promptly with 2 handsome attendants whom treated her with Kid Gloves. She was smitten from the start,,(flirt:) Which put her in the perfect state of mind in entering the ER and it's organized chaos,, overseen by the lovely Eagle-eyed lady at the front desk whom doesn't miss a thing. The Medical Dr. and crew were phenomenal in their duties. The care that she has received from the Doctors, Nursing staff, Therapists,, whom made her/us laugh which helps in keeping the spirit up,, were incredibly,, along with the friendly maintenance staff keeping her room spotless.. All of you are Amazing for making a difficult time less worry-some. Thank You & God Bless

ZERO STARS!!!! This place is ridiculous! Not only was I there for 10 hours and took swabs but because I said I needed to leave at 530am after being there all night they refused to give me my results but 5 MEN holding down a young teenager in an emergency room trying to video tape because she clearly felt uncomfortable and they proceeded by taking her phone and delete the video.. I was there for 8 hours and still not seen because the nurses were “busy” and by busy I mean holding this girl down. And the lady at the front desk had the audacity to say to the other staff “you know me I don’t play” well I mean that sounds like a threat but go ahead get unprofessional

Nurses rush and forget what they’re doing. It is very poor care . The wait wasn’t long but the way they try to rush you out makes you worry for your wellbeing. I felt so uneasy going home. They do not care . I hope to never have to go there again . I never even seen a doctor . It was just a nurses rushing in and out

I went to Gottlieb ER with severe abdominal pain and feeling incredibly sick. Turns out I had very severe appendicitis. They left me in the waiting area moaning in pain and shivering with terrible chills. The triage nurse was rude and argumentative. Thank goodness my partner insisted on getting me to Elmhurst Hospital where I was cared for immediately and treated with respect. I had to have an emergency appendectomy. I do want to acknowledge the clerk at Gottlieb. She was very kind and compassionate!

The worst! My mother had to use the bathroom and nobody was able to help me take her. She had really bad back pain. Five hours of waiting in the waiting room. They gave her Tylenol to ‘ease’ her pain but obviously it did not help at all. Better off calling the ambulance to get some kind of quick care.

Gottlieb ER is still having the same problems as 7months ago. Based on the previous reviews. 1pm arrival - 10pm when they finally informed us that my elderly father will be staying for observation. The ER nurse was rude and short and did not allow my brother to stay in the ER room with my dad after closing time. I called and spoke to the nurse assigned to the floor my dad was transferred to. I asked about the policy for a family to stay overnight? She replied that someone could’ve stayed with my dad 😒 very frustrating

The incompetent staff and the nurses lost or I'm sure stole my moms personal belongings. Now nobody wants to take responsibility and everyone keeps putting it on someone else. There is NOOOO accountibility whatsoever. She's been out for 2 months now and still no one cares, they have incompetent staff working for them on 4L. If you care for your family, do not take them there.

Came to the ER with abdominal and back pain. I was told they were busy and would have to wait. Understandable. What was not understandable is 7 hours later and vitals taken twice and I still had not seen a doctor or nurse. About 4 families left not wanting to keep waiting. The registration staff is very unprofessional. When asked by many if they knew how much longer, their reply was that they only took information and were not nurses or doctors. Wait time is expected when you go to the ER but lack of communication and compassion should not be the norm. Get better at serving the community Gottlieb!

A management change must have occurred in the last year! My mother was just admitted for 3 days. I received several calls letting me know what room she was in, how her condition was and updated on her care and discharge time. ALL staff were very thorough and much appreciated! It was so refreshing from the last time my mom was admitted there! Keep it up!

Terrible, I will be going to another hospital for my care. I had an appointment for my scheduled procedure. Upon arriving to registration front desk I was forwarded to the waiting room. At the registrants desk she was very rude and appeared to be upset, there was no greeting, no bedside manner at all. She said I'm gonna register you, I replied, "I have all my info in this bag is there something you need? She replied very short and mean "if I need something from you I will ask you. Wow I thought to myself, where did that come from. She then told me I would have to pay $200 right now. I told her that I paid $5 via check 10 days ago and therefore I only needed to pay $195 dollars whereby She went into a rage and stated screaming at me that I would have to pay $200. I then screamed back at her to leave the desk and go get me someone else to register me as I will not tolerate your behavior towards me. She then screamed at me that I cant talk to her like that. I told her that my response was to you screaming at me as I got up to leave the cubicle as something else was going on with her that I didn't comprehend. As I left the cubicle and my driver heard the loud voices and was entering the cubicle to see what was going on I started to tell her that the registrant has some issues that I don't understand. By this time the registrant had walked to the front desk and stuck her head through the glass partition and screamed, "YOU no talk or I call security on you. At which point some other employee came rushing out and gave me my paper work and directions to the procedure unit. I related this situation to the unit nurse and the anistiigeoligist whom directed me to customer complaints who did nothing. And as we witness in the news media everyday when the authorities are summoned to a disturbance with a Black man things usually turn out bad and sometimes fatal so therefore I cannot go back there in fear of arrest or death for what, seeking medical attention this is crazy and I would be also if I were to go back there. This is not my first incidence of Racism at Gottlieb but it will be my last Gottlieb needs to consider cultural awareness classes as I did nothing wrong except in some people's views that all Black people are all bad and should be disrespected any and everywhere. Ignorance, Hatred, beware of this hospial Black people, BLM...

The facility is disgusting. Took pics of the dirty hallways , cafeteria and bathrooms. They keep the lobby clean then it just gets gross from there. I had to ask if someone could clean just one of the twenty tables in the cafeteria for us to try to eat here. We left after waiting for a person to come clean.

My aunt and uncle have been hospitalized at Gottlieb several times in the last few years, and the care that they received was exemplary. Gottlieb is beautifully staffed with wonderful and easy to communicate professionals. The grounds and building are immaculate - clean, well taken care of, and well thought out. The department that has impressed me the most are the TELEPHONE OPERATORS answering the incoming calls to connect me with my relatives. I would a few times daily and EVERY SINGLE TIME, EVERY ONE different operators - this time is Latanya - has been polite, patient, accommodating, pleasant, articulate, easy to speak to, simply put - each one, every single time has been and IS PERFECT. I couldn't be consistently over time so good - every time, and the person who manages that department is responsible for the quality of the work, is absolutely and undoubtedly the luckiest team leader to have such wonderful teammates.

Excellent surgeons and doctors on staff. Great communication. Top notch care. Nurses were great. Based upon other reviews, I'd be leery of going to the ER here O.o, BUT if you're scheduling a procedure in advance, the care I witnessed is excellent here. Rooms are very nice and the food in cafeteria is very good for visitors as well.

I would like to make this review and comment how great of a practitioner nurse Antonia is. I came in two separate days same week, first me and than my husband. She was very attentive to our injuries and gave us the adequate help we needed. She is a great listener, very polite and very concerned for her patients. She was the main one to check up on us multiple times to make sure we were okay. I thank her for all she did for us she is an excellent nurse to the hospital.

My father in-law had a surgery done on his back, he was in tremendous pain. They didn’t manage his pain until my wife demanded it. After which, the nursing staff was rude and sort. Which is not a good look for a caretaker. When asking if my father in-law had been seen by the doctor they lied to us and said he had, but that was not true. They will talk over you, lie to you, and let your loved ones suffer. This place is a horror show. Entitled staff. Based on his pain something probably went wrong in surgery. Do not trust or support!

My mom was in the hospital for 4 days and got great care!!! Unfortunately do to her having covid I wasn’t able to see her plus being 12 hours away didn’t help. The nurses (one was Erica/5 south) and the dr, I talked with on the phone we’re amazing, kind and very informative. I know they were busy but they took the time to update me about my mom which put me at ease.

I had surgery in the orthopedic wing and I have to say that the entire staff (Dr. Baker, Freese…) that tended to me was extremely professional and compassionate. They took all the time necessary in discussing my relevant health situation, even including other health issues and I never felt rushed in the process. I knew I was in good hands and they made feel very at ease about the surgery. Effective and efficient follow up.

This hospitals terrible reviews are well earned. Great grandchildren cannot visit their elderly grandparents on Easter - not unless they're 18 years old. This "policy" is still in place nearly a year after all Covid restrictions have been lifted countrywide. Immoral.

I wouldn't even given a star at all more like negative 20! If it were to depend on my life to go to this hospital I might as well start planning n arranging my own funeral services n just wait to die on my own. The staff in the er are so rude and unprofessional and are quick to judge everyone that goes there in pain assuming they want medicine to get intoxicated with pills. My scholois is way past pain pills. But I was totally disrespected and insulted and took over 5-6 hours (with out a lot of patients to see) just to get a xray of my spine and a few copies. Not wanting a script at all. But they treated me like I was a scumbag. Never go there again or give any compliments to nobody ever

THIS IS ABOUT GOTTLIEB ER. Iwent to Loyola urgent care In River Forest Waited 4 hours, but the nurse there was amazing. They didn’t have the machinery to help me. I had excruciating pain on my left side and back and a fever, because they couldn’t help me they said to go to the ER. They didn’t want me to drive so they called the ambulance. I went Gottlieb ER. The nurse in triage on September 12 took my information and told me it will be a two hour wait. I said I was in tremendous pain, but according to her my pain wasn’t serious enough, even though I threw up 4 times and could barely walk. I’m in the ER now for almost 4 hours. I went to the desk to ask if they could call the nurse, they copped an attitude. They called the nurse. The nurse that worked in Triage came out and apologized saying that they have no idea when I will be helped. I told her again that I’m in incredible pain, she said in her condescending tone. We will what we can. I know that meant we will take you when we’re ready. 5 minutes later I asked the lady at the desk to take off the band on my wrist. I went to Good Samaritan , they took me in immediately and im happy to say they were amazing. Not like this place. I will NEVER go to Gottlieb ER again. If I could give zero stars I would. Most ridiculous hospital.

I do not recommend any future patients to visit this facility for testing and the neurology department for Dr. Garg. The doctor, lacking awareness of diagnosing symptoms and show any emotional intelligence. I was going through symptoms of a potential carotid or vertebral artery stenosis, were the following symptoms of dizziness, confusion, pain in the left side of the head, erratic behavior, temple left side pain leading to the forehead and numbness and tingling, Along with the radiologists named Rishabh Choudhari and attending Mariah Bashir. In failing to diagnose a T1 chronic fracture. In this case was diagnosed this past Friday from a CT scan with contrast. Experiencing chronic pain from a fracture that never calcified. The radiologists lacked in experience to even find this incidental finding.

The wound care staff, including Dr. Mitchell and all the nurses, and the receptionist are top notch. They have great expertise and are kind and caring. I've been in the hospital twice, and the in-patient care is also top notch.

The staff at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital was exceptional. From the time I checked into the emergency area until I was released every staff member was professional, courteous and kind. I had not been admitted into a hospital in over 50 years, not looking forward to being admitted again, but if so Gottlieb would be the hospital that I would choose. I was first in the emergency room then ICU and finally in a regular room. Not once did I ever feel neglected or ignored. Everyone that I came in contact with was kind and attentive. I would like to thank everyone that was involved with my care. I applauded you all and offer my sincere gratitude. Kaminsky K. Thomas

I choose Gottlieb to have my tests done. I've received faster service than Loyola since there are fewer patients and the staff is less overwhelmed. As far as ER service is concerned, most hospitals triage patients. If someone is suffering from a heart attack, stroke or some traumatic injury that are true emergencies, they are prioritized. But it's a broken bone, or something else non life threatening has to wait. My husband waited in the ER at Loyola for 11 hours before he was moved to a room. But the ER staff did everything they could while waiting for the room. There was no more that they could do if he was moved to a room right away. COVID has made wait times longer any many hospitals are struggling with loss of staff. If there is an urgent care clinic, they can be an option for certain avoiding the ER. It may be a better choice in certain situations.

I had a routine colonoscopy and my experience was excellent. The nurses and doctors were very professional, attentive and communicative. I was in and out in a couple hours. I would definitely come back!

I was seen on November 3 at the Emergency Room for severe back pain. Yes, I had a long wait. I did not mind that other patients were called before me, because I did not know exactly why they were there. When it was my turn, I was taken care of by Dr Molly Conroy. I can honestly say Dr Conroy, My Nurse, Lisa who did my CT Scan as well as the rest of the staff did an excellent job of taking care of me. Thank you to the Emergency Room Staff at Gottlieb.

I had a visit to the ER, I ate some ribs for dinner and low and behold I had bone in my esophagus, they were very thorough with my treatment, I had x-rays and a CT scan once I was taken to my room the nurses were there to take to surgery everyone was very professional especially 5 West nurses they were wonderful. A couple of years ago when I had my gallbladder taken out the same helpfulness, God bless!!!

I had the unfortunate experience of having my daughter admitted to the ICU last year for 3 days and passed away one year ago today. I wanted to reach out to express my gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional care she received during her time there, even though she ultimately passed away. The ICU team went above and beyond to provide comfort and support to both my daughter and our family. They worked nonstop to ensure my daughter's comfort and well-being and always prioritized her needs with round-the-clock monitoring. Both the nurses and doctors also showed genuine care and kindness towards my daughter. Although her outcome was not what we had hoped for I will always be grateful for the amazing care my daughter received. Thank you to the entire ICU team!

This is by far one of the most worst hospitals ever and getting worst over the years . They don’t treat you correctly it’s a simple i don’t know what wrong with you and on to the next person. I understand dealing with patients working 12 hours shifts all week . But let’s not forget it’s WHAT YOU GUYS SIGNED UP FOR . ITS WHATS YOU GUYS WENT TO SCHOOL FOR .it was a dedication you guys took to be exactly where your at . It’s sad to have to leave gottlieb to go to another hospital because you were treated poorly. It’s ridiculous too. They need to close this hospital and take time to actually look over there staff because something needs to change . I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING TO ELMHURST HOSPITAL LOCATED 155 E Brush Hill RD , Elmhurst ,IL 60126 , when I say you won’t regret it at all and I promise you won’t go back to gottieb at all

2 E.R. visits for a cancer patient who is not eating, in pain, dizziness, and can not walk. We were discharged twice and never admitted and the patient has declined further. Called to speak with E R. manager left voicemail. Called again asked for the president because Elizabeth Early needs to know what's going on in her hospital but Treasure refused to transfer and instead sent us to patient relations. On our first visit we had a bit of a wait and finally got in only to do scans, bloodwork, and got 1 IV that they didn't let finish and we were discharged. They said they didn't find anything wrong. Well as a hospital that has a cancer center there is definitely something wrong. They sent us home with prescriptions for a person who cannot keep food down so run up a bill and send us home and call the work done? Unacceptable. On our second visit two weeks later on 01/29, we got there at 3 p.m. and did not get into an E.R. room until 10:30/ 11pm. While we waited they brought us to triage then returned us to the waiting room. They had us come back for blood work and returned us to the waiting room. They did a scan and returned us to the waiting room. The patient sat in her depends for hours after I alerted the staff that we cannot walk and may need bathroom assistance soon. When the patient complained of chest pain I alerted the waiting room staff and we were then back and put in a room by someone who said this is as far as they could take us. Then a nurse came we explained the mobility issue and the nurse said sge'd get someone to help but left us in the room and closed the blinds. When the patient expressed concern about being forgotten I went to check on the help we were promised only to find the nurse casually talking to her coworkers. I stood outside the nurses station and was not noticed until I interrupted them and the nurse who promised help asked me what I needed help with so we were actually forgotten. The nurses asks the same questions even when they type notes no one is communicating with each other in this hospital. Also, the patient has small veins and staff did not listen to her about how best to take her blood they kept saying let me try instead of listening and trying a different plan. They stuck the patient with needles 7x be causing pain and medical trauma ma to a cancer patient before they used an ultrasound machine. Patient was dehydrated because of excessive vmoiting and when we asked for a second IV the nurse took everything down and he said he's not giving a second IV. We asked the E.R. doctor on shift and he said of course a second IV. Why does this make sense to the doctor and not the nurses? It is also dirty in this E.R. the floors are filthy even in the writing room fluids from patients on the floor no one to come mop. I have used Gottleib for PT after a car accident and an older cousin got a hip replacement there. I'm not sure what happened after the pandemic but there is no care at Gottlieb Memorial. They don't even deserve to be part of the Loyola system unless this treatment is a reflection of what Loyola is now. Our best care happens at Elmhurst Hospital and I recommend anyone having issues with Gottleib to go to Elmhurst. There are a bunch of people who entered the healthcare profession for money and not vocation working at Gottleib. We learned from a medical professional that what Gottleibdid was inhumane and honestly there should be an appropriate consequence for the mistreatment of my loved one. And I will find it.
