This
review
is
specific
to
having
major
difficulties
scheduling
39-week
induction
for
my
pregnancy.
I
have
not
delivered
at
this
hospital
yet
-
can
update
the
review
once
this
happens.
Due
to
certain
reasons
and
higher
risk
pregnancy,
I
felt
pretty
strongly
about
the
39-week
induction.
I
have
been
discussing
this
option
with
my
OB
beginning
week
34.
During
the
discussions,
it
never
appeared
that
this
would
be
a
problem.
Well,
I
am
at
week
38
and
5
days
now,
and
only
got
informed
today
that
the
39-week
induction
is
not
guaranteed
and
that
I
have
been
placed
on
some
type
of
rolling
waiting
list
until
the
hospital
gets
a
labor-delivery
bed.
And
this
process
can
last
until
week
41
unless
I
go
into
active
labor.
My
OB
clinic
states
that
the
hospital
provides
only
lottery
spots
to
patients
-
I
do
not
even
know
what
this
means.
So
at
this
point,
I
am
beyond
stressed
and
anxious
-
I
don't
really
like
knowing
that
my
access
to
healthcare
and
labor/delivery
is
based
on
some
type
of
lottery.
So
if
you
are
looking
for
a
hospital
that
would
work
with
you
to
schedule
a
39-week
induction,
I
do
not
recommend
this
hospital
as
it
seems
that
the
hospital
is
overcrowded
and
does
not
have
the
capacity
to
meet
the
needs
of
all
pregnant
patients.
So
if
we
want
to
know
why
the
US
has
the
highest
maternity
and
infant
mortality
in
the
developed
world,
this
is
a
perfect
example
of
it.
I
am
not
sure
when
I
will
get
my
induction
date,
whether
this
will
happen
before
week
41,
and
what
will
be
consequences
to
my
and
my
baby's
health.
Who
is
responsible
if
down
the
line
if
an
emergency
happens
to
me
and
my
baby
because
the
induction
was
not
scheduled
in
a
timely
manner?
But
by
the
way,
Northwestern
hospital
still
made
sure
to
call
me
and
get
a
$500
deposit
for
my
"upcoming"
delivery
despite
not
having
the
room
or
event
date
for
my
induction.
