PSA: I wanted to put this out there in case anyone else was unaware like myself. The Community Immediate Care St. John is NOT an Urgent Care. I have used them for years. Iā€™ve always been charged our regular copay. However, on my last visit they charged me for a specialist since the doctor on duty there is considered an ā€œemergent care specialistā€. I was not notified of this until we received our bill. I took my daughter in for a rash she had on her arms. I mentioned she had a different skin condition on her legs. The Dr. at Community looked at her arm rash for 10 seconds and said itā€™s the same thing she had on her legs. I knew it wasnā€™t what she said based on what I knew about the condition she had on her legs. My suspicions were confirmed when we took her to a dermatologist (the actual specialist on skin conditions). I was annoyed that I wasted my morning when I knew it was the wrong diagnosis. But also recognized that that is the risk you take when not seeing a specialist. No big deal. However, recently we got a bill from Community stating we owed an additional $80. I found out that they charged us for a specialist! Even though this doctor was CLEARLY not a specialist in skin issues. If we had seen a dermatologist at Community I wouldnā€™t have batted an eye at this but having us see a ā€œspecialistā€ in an area that they do not hold a specialty in makes ABSOLUTELY no sense to me and seems like a money grab. Just wanted to put this out there cause I had NO idea it wasnā€™t the same thing as an urgent care.

Waited two hours for nothing in a filthy dusty environment. There is so much dust coated on everything itā€™s hard to breathe for people with allergies. How could they let this get this bad?!

Girls at desk are welcoming. Can get bloodwork, xrays, mamo, and other test. Plus urgent care.Good group of Doctors. Been going there since 2003. Very clean.

This is a great location to get bloodwork done. They open early, it's clean and its usually quick.

Be prepared to WAIT. If I was rating solely on their cleanliness and level of care, I could rate 5 stars. But the more and more I visit this office, the more and more I hate going back. I love that this place is so close and thatā€™s what makes this urgent care convenient but thatā€™s just about where it ends. Took my daughter for a swab today and there wasnā€™t many people waiting at all (Iā€™ve been there in a full waiting room before.) We waited almost an hour and a half. We walked out before the doctor could come speak to us. Once MyChart messaged me that all her swabs were negative I just left. This isnā€™t the first time weā€™ve sat that long for some swab results and Iā€™m sure it wonā€™t be the last but with a place so well staffed itā€™s really hard for me to understand why sick patients are being made to wait so long. Itā€™s sad to see this is happening SO MUCH at this office. To add to all of this frustration, the medical assistant that did my childā€™s vitals put the blood pressure cuff over a baggy hoodie, got frustrated when it read 118/9? and did it herself manually with a stethoscope, and impatiently came up with the numbers 100/60. I took her blood pressure after the nurse left the room and it was 118/90something which is completely normal for my child. Very incorrect in care and very unprofessional.

I I brought my wife in for treatment and before she made it to a room. They had an 02 sensor on her finger treated her immediately and sent her to the hospital and the service was way above expected.

Last time I went to this urgent care I was told I had MRSA, and Docter touched my open wound without gloves. It was poison ivy. I went to the ER because it had gotten much worse. I just went and Left because they are so rude. COMMUNITY IS TOXIC. Go anywhere else.
