VERY DISAPPOINTED BY THE LACK OF TRANSPARENCY, INTEGRITY ,PROFESSIONALISM AND HONESTY. The mission statement could not be further from the truth !! There is no moral support to the family, you must be with your love ones from 8-8 to ensure they are cared for properly. RML is working hard to cover up their deficit vs trying to communicate with the families to correct their wrongs . They refuse to find a solution to the problem instead they turn a deaf ear and look for an administrative loop hole to escape through, however this is not acceptable and will not be ignored by those of us who know better. As a mother, healthcare professional and spiritual person blessed to have a loving family, strong spiritual community and ombudsman fighting for my sons rights . We will make sure no other patients or family member experience what we or others have been exposed to again. “Excuses Don’t Excuse You They Expose You”.

This facility is not one that you should trust with someone you love. Their lack of empathy and compassion for people is truly evident in the lack of care they provide. Your loved one will press their call button and undoubtedly wait anywhere from 20-60 mins for a response while the staff is standing around laughing in a hallway nearby. The staff is only attentive when their is pressure applied by the families. They have no sense of urgency in addressing a patients discomfort or distress in any aspect. They have poor communication skills and choose when they will help you or your loved one in facilitating the communication. Please do not trust this facility with anyone you care for. They have no human compassion. They lack the desire to support families and patients in their journey to improve their health. Your loved one is a dollar amount to them. Not a person and they show it in how they deal with patients. The administration is the worst part of the hospital. This facility is truly the shadow of the leadership in place or the lack thereof. Please find another facility if you care for someone and want them to be comfortable and treated with dignity and respect.

Writing this review from the point of view of an agency staff member. The facility hired me for an 8-week contract and then must have determined that I was too expensive and chose not to renew the contract due to unknown reasons. Unethical behavior towards agency staff. I provided excellent care to all my patients and try to manage my auxiliary stuff. I am quite unsure of the reasons leading to my non-renewal.

UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, DISMISSIVE,UNRELIABLE, EXTREME RUDENESS from doctors. Those are short description of the doctor, care coordinator, patient liason and most of nurses, nurse techs and if course there are a handful of exceptions. Applicable to techs and two nurses. If you want any person to die- this is the place to bring them. They do not tend to a patient's needs. Patient has to wait until the nurse feels she want to show to the room. You can press the nurse button and be ready to wait for up to 45minutes to get a nurse. Medications are got given as needed. And if they want to give it you, you be lucky. Nothing on the website stating Services provided are true. Expect the unexpected. If you are ready to die, come here. I'm so mad at this place they provided no care whatsoever to my then healthy son. He came out very sick with anemia, dehydration, infection where no reason provided by medical staff. And 100% refusal of providing me his medical records. Just remember if you want to die quick this is your place to go. Trust me this is a great review hence the one star because if there were a minus 10 stars I be first to give to this place. I am short of words in the review. Am being kind.

My initial thoughts on entering the building, this place is a hole. The building itself needs a major overhaul for the importance of what they do. The patients are very scared with their new tracheostomies. The rooms are very bland with the basic needs for each patient in their rooms. That is the bad part. This is the good part. They care. They work hard to ensure each patient gets exactly what they need to be successful in their recovery. You will get sick of the word wean, but the occupational therapists are amazing and vet out any resources they can to help you receive the tools you need, they are so nurturing. The wound care team is by and far the very best in the Chicagoland area. The speech pathologist we had was an angel, very relatable. The respiratory therapists truly understand the jist of their job and are exceptional. Physical therapy met a brick wall in my son, but he did go with a few suggestions and modifications

Since you’ve blocked reviews from being posted ! I’ll start out by saying the nurse’s who took care of my mother every day were great , but that’s where it ends. Physical therapy was minimal at best. From the start our social worker Sarah knew the goal was to get my mother back home. At no point was I told the brutal honest truth throughout this . Taking her home would be neglect! I was told I could send her to a subacute nursing home for three months. She would get the extra care and physical therapy she needed and then come home . She could do outpatient therapy and at home therapy . So I searched endlessly for the best spot I could possibly find which was Alden Lakeview . I should’ve caught on when they said she had to apply for Medicaid to be admitted there. They obviously knew by looking at her chart she would and should be a permanent patient. Still nobody said that to me . So I took the tour and left that dump in tears . When I told Sarah she said we’d keep searching . Lie if we had to so she could get in without Medicaid . I knew if the best spot I could find was that dump there wouldn’t be a place better. So I decided we should work on taking her home . I was promised by Sarah’s coworker that it wouldn’t be rushed , we would have a plan in place etc….. They would never send someone home not prepared. Well that wasn’t true . She told me on a Monday she would come home that Friday !!! How is that possible ? I tried fighting it . Luckily they couldn’t get equipment in time to send her home Friday. So it was pushed to the following Monday. I had to tell my boss that Friday was not only my last day , but I needed to leave early to train . I arrive at Rml Hinsdale Hospital to train and it is the first time I’ve ever seen my mother sitting in a chair. She has been here for 5 months! What should’ve been two days of training was done in 10 minutes for tracheotomy care, and feeding tube. Monday was here! Her release was scheduled for the evening. Well, that was a big mistake. She was sent home soiled with no diaper and by amateurs. They didn’t know how to move a patient ! How humiliating and degrading!! Important medication‘s were missing. When I called Sarah I was told at home health has to deal with it now. Once you’re discharged they didn’t care what they screwed up or about you! Well, they weren’t coming to visit me for two days. So how does a diabetic go for that many days without medication?! (Hospital made her diabetic by the way ) They also ordered the wrong cannulas for her trach! How are you suppose to take care of her !? I knew days in that something was wrong with her. I had spent every day with her at Rml so I knew when she wasn’t herself. The at home health doctors ignored my concerns. By the end of the week I was calling an ambulance. Once I arrived at the hospital, every doctor I encountered was floored that I was allowed to take her home. They said it was neglect. They couldn’t believe nobody had gotten her out of bed for the five months that she was at Rml hospital. I was told that any type of therapy to her now would be cruel because her muscles are probably atrophied .They were shocked by the amount she was being fed daily ! And after testing, they found malignant spots on her lung . I want to know how Rml did not see this prior. She had scans, barely a month before when she was incoherent and something was definitely wrong. Which I had to call and complain to get something done then! How was no one aware that she clearly had a stroke at UIC Hospital or Rml ?? Obviously by the condition of her left arm it happened! I can go on and on . Bottom line is you kept her alive on antibiotics and ran out her insurance. Whatever doctors you had assessing her condition and treating her should be investigated and fired. You tortured my mother for five months knowing the outcome . You gave my mother and I false hope.

Very understaffed, patients have to wait a very long time to get what they need. I was very dissatisfied with meeting patient needs. My siblings and I where there entire day during entire stay of my mom because she was not able to communicate. On most days first thing visiting hours were open, we were here already. We would find out mom with soiled diaper and legs hanging out of bed. If it wasnt for us constantly letting the staff know that my mom needed a change, or needed aspiration, her needs wouldnt be meet. Communication between staff needs to be better. My list of complaints can go on and on. Yes, we did bring up our complaints personally, Electronically and to this date one week after discharge we haven't heard from any one back. To say the least im being nice on this review. Therapist were good on the good note.

Thank you RML from the bottom of my heart for the great service and care provided to my brother Daniel Morales. You brought him back to life we couldn’t be more happier. A special thank you to the staff that cared for him, they were attentive, friendly and accommodating. The front desk ladies were very friendly also. The Morales Family wish you Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.

I must say I’m as a daughter whose mother was at this hospital for over a month am very pleased. They took excellent care of my mom. All the nurses (Inatalia, Ian, Ivy) Pct (Sonya, Sandrain, Sherelle, Rochelle) Respiratory Tammie , and Physical therapy was fabulous. The communication from Sarah one of the coordinators was everything. Sarah communicating with me about everything about my mom all of the updates even until the transfer to the nursing skilled facility. I had to write this review after seeing the bad. This place is wonderful and I’m beyond pleased. Thank you all so much.

I wish ZERO star was an option!!! Northwestern Hospital sent my husband there for respiratory rehab. His health declined each day he was there - to the point where he was unresponsive. They rushed him back to Northwestern without even notifying Northwestern that he was being readmitted. And to top it off - they stole his belongings. The staff was rude and very unhelpful! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this facility!!!

I'm so impressed with RML! My daughter is doing so well there... All of the employees are friendly, efficient and professional... I'm grateful for them.. everything was good until discharge. Took weeks to get my daughter home health care, then everything was messed up with her equipment to be delivered, and the biggest mistake was made from Social worker , was her most very important prescription.. my daughter suffered big time. Took ,more than 24 hours to get her RX fixed. But it's still not correct.. seems like once your discharged and no longer a patient.. they no longer cares what happens to you once you get home. I'm very disappointed .But her PCT, Hector was wonderful. As a retired CNA, ,we are usually the most efficient and caring employees.

The WORST bedside manner EVER. I wouldn’t even give them one star. Our stepmother was treated poorly with her hygiene. Matted hair, leaving her in her soiled linens, and complete lack of regard for her as a person. She passed away at the hospital she was transferred to and when I called to pick up her belongings (a few weeks later) the lady on the phone was super rude, saying “wasn’t this a few weeks ago? Sorry we weren’t ready to pick up her stuff. They didn’t offer any condolences, and made me feel like a burden. Then when I went to pick up her belongings, no condolences, and just mere lack of regard. This is your JOB. Own it and treat people like the humans they are!!!

My wife was hit by a car in January and she was at christ hospital for 3 weeks rml decided to transfer her to their facility to recover from her wounds which were severed spine a broken arm and a broken leg which were all fixed in surgery after 5 surgeries at christ hospital rml still wanted her to come to their hospital to recover. But after 2 weeks her wounds opened up on her ankle and her back and she had a cervical collar which caused a wound in the back of her head to get irritated and she was paralyzed from the bra line down and she is not able to talk because of the fact that she had a tracheastomy because she was on a ventilator for 2 weeks and and she couldn't talk. She was then transferred to christ because of the open wounds which were in felted with a staph infection near her ankle And her spinal cord had to be redone along with her ankle that that an infection. I would not recommend this place to anyone else that has a loved one in the hospital. Now since rml is a partnership between 3 hospitals rush and loyola and I can't remember the other name they treat their patients like Statistic people or patients like some hospitals I know and the other complaint I had was that there was only one visitor at a time I mean I know it's the pandemic but what is going to happen when the pandemic is over go back to the normal ways

Writing on behalf of my father Zafar Massey. He was moved to RML-Hinsdale after a very good recovery from ASA-5 to ASA-3 after a major road accident. He was talking and responding well and even started eating a day after being moved to RML. Within a week though we saw him listless, unresponsive and unable to even open eyes. When asked there was no response only that must be anxiety medication. They said they had done scan of his brain on Friday night and found him stable as was at Christ. Saturday morning we noticed he is not same. By Wednesday he was almost like just body hanging lifeless. We escalated the concern that something changed between Friday and Saturday night.. they did not agree. Then we receive a call that he is being transferred back to Christ as there is a bleed in his head causing a hemorrhage. we were shocked when they said they just did a 2nd scan to confirm. took them 3 days to do another scan to confirm ? what about first statement that Friday scan was normal ? What were they confirming after 3 days then? Clearly the two statements indicate they are hiding facts, saving people responsible and their institutions name. Skip to ER : First question asked by person who attended him at ER was, "was he taken off his prescribed meds - blood thinners in particular ?" I can infer that as he was not getting all his medicines at right time in the right dose at RML, why else will they ask this question in ER after doing tests ? They also indicated today that there was a potential fall causing the hemorrhage. No one at RML told us anything about any injury while he was there. Just that they did 2nd scan to confirm hemorrhage after 3 days after the 1st scan was normal.. amazing na ! No one even recognized he was serious until the person for speech said his respiratory is not normal... 3 days and not even the person responsible for checking his trachea and respiration made out he is not breathing properly. All this while we keep asking what is happening. This is beyond Pathetic . They do have some very good nursing staff though that we met on our visits, I think the mgmt just lacks empathy, compassion, care and understanding to run a health care institution. Someone needs to remind them its not just a business, its healthcare. People and families are affected by their irresponsible attitude. We are thankful to God , that he is out of RML. Not a place I would recommend to anyone looking for skilled care and nursing. God bless you or your loved one seeking care with speedy recovery and good health. In sweet name of Jesus. Amen.

If I could give a review with less than one star I would. Do not send anyone you love there. The nurses are rude and don’t care about the patients, there is no communication with doctors and the patients family. Our family member got worse at RML and almost died.

My experience at RML Hindsale was great. I thank everyone at this center. Almost everyone gave me full attention during my stay. Day nurses and PCT staff members were great by giving me full attention I needed while I was there. My special appreciation goes to the two great therapist (PT and OT) who worked with me. They gave me serious attention and did everything to help me and encouraged me to work hard based on my ability. I truly appreciate them. Lastly, I would like to thank one of the night PCT (Efferien) who really gave me great care during night shift. There are many members of RML staff members that need appreciation but don't have the right names. If I have to say something for improvement at this location is that the night staff members need to give more attention to patients. I did not see it at night. It could be they were short handed but RML needs to improve the night service. Food service was great with few issues with one of the staff members. They served fresh and on time.

A year ago my husband was a patient at RML in Hinsdale. Everyone was really nice and understanding, they actually knew us and would cry if we cried; they sympathized which you don’t see that often. I picked this place because when I came for a tour I felt immediately that he was going to be safe and in good/caring hands. And our son (9 yrs old) would be allowed to visit which was very important to us. They were so patient with us, from administration, to the doctors, to the nurses, the cna’s, the dialysis techs, the physical therapist were one of the best ones! Jen helped my husband stand up for the first time in within 3 1/2 weeks. Although my husband had so many issues at the time, he very slowly but surely improved as weeks passed by. When he arrived at RML he was very ill but after 2 months things were a lot better. I will forever be grateful for them! They gave us hope when other hospitals didn’t.

Horrible bed side manners. Let me Dads UTI infection turn into Sepsis. My Father passed away from neglect. NEGLECT!! It was all completely preventable. I no longer have my Dad because of your hospitals lack of training and knowledge.

My special needs brother was a patient in the High Acuity Unit at the Hinsdale location for roughly 4 months this year. He arrived with many obstacles, and although he did not make it, I believe he was given the very best care the entire time by many specialty physicians. The HAU nurses are highly skilled and gave my brother excellent care. I will be forever grateful for their compassion towards my brother. The weekly updates by Mary Ellen, the care coordinator, were also very helpful throughout this time.

My unique necessities sibling was a patient in the High Acuity Unit at the Hinsdale area for approximately 4 months in the current year. He showed up with numerous deterrents, and despite the fact that he didn't make it, I accept he was given the absolute best consideration the whole time by numerous claim to fame doctors. The HAU medical attendants are exceptionally talented and gave my sibling magnificent consideration. I will be perpetually appreciative for their sympathy towards my sibling. The week after week refreshes by Mary Ellen, the consideration facilitator, were additionally extremely accommodating all through this time.

RML is an outstanding specialty hospital. The entire staff, nurses, therapists, PCTs, pharmacist, & support staff were so supportive & caring during my husband’s stay. They involved us with my husband’s care & were very appreciative of my assistance. In addition the physicians, NPs, & PAs were extremely knowledgeable & caring. They worked with our Rush pulmonologist & kept Dr Yoder informed throughout my husband’s stay. RML is a well run facility & we would highly recommend it to other families.

Understaffed....on weekends, the nurses barely do anything. Respiratory therapists ignores alarms. They feel its ok for a patient to cough it out. They like to sit around and be on their phones. When family call for them,it's an inconvenience. God knows what goes on overnight when visiting hours are over at night. More of the foolery... so 1st shift Respiratory quits working at 6 pm..2nd Shift Respiratory doesn't start until after 8pm...try getting someone during that time, lol On the weekends, patients get minimal attention...it's a ghost town in the halls

😠 It is beyond discouraging to see this hospital’s incredible decline. I posted a negative review 2 months ago. It posted for 30 minutes and was then removed.
