I’ll
start
out
by
saying
the
nurse’s
who
took
care
of
my
mother
every
day
were
great
,
but
that’s
where
it
ends.
Physical
therapy
was
minimal
at
best.
From
the
start
our
social
worker
Sarah
knew
the
goal
was
to
get
my
mother
back
home.
At
no
point
was
I
told
the
brutal
honest
truth
throughout
this
.
Taking
her
home
would
be
neglect!
I
was
told
I
could
send
her
to
a
subacute
nursing
home
for
three
months.
She
would
get
the
extra
care
and
physical
therapy
she
needed
and
then
come
home
.
She
could
do
outpatient
therapy
and
at
home
therapy
.
So
I
searched
endlessly
for
the
best
spot
I
could
possibly
find
which
was
Alden
Lakeview
.
I
should’ve
caught
on
when
they
said
she
had
to
apply
for
Medicaid
to
be
admitted
there.
They
obviously
knew
by
looking
at
her
chart
she
would
and
should
be
a
permanent
patient.
Still
nobody
said
that
to
me
.
So
I
took
the
tour
and
left
that
dump
in
tears
.
When
I
told
Sarah
she
said
we’d
keep
searching
.
Lie
if
we
had
to
so
she
could
get
in
without
Medicaid
.
I
knew
if
the
best
spot
I
could
find
was
that
dump
there
wouldn’t
be
a
place
better.
So
I
decided
we
should
work
on
taking
her
home
.
I
was
promised
by
Sarah’s
coworker
that
it
wouldn’t
be
rushed
,
we
would
have
a
plan
in
place
etc…..
They
would
never
send
someone
home
not
prepared.
Well
that
wasn’t
true
.
She
told
me
on
a
Monday
she
would
come
home
that
Friday
!!!
How
is
that
possible
?
I
tried
fighting
it
.
Luckily
they
couldn’t
get
equipment
in
time
to
send
her
home
Friday.
So
it
was
pushed
to
the
following
Monday.
I
had
to
tell
my
boss
that
Friday
was
not
only
my
last
day
,
but
I
needed
to
leave
early
to
train
.
I
arrive
at
Rml
Hinsdale
Hospital
to
train
and
it
is
the
first
time
I’ve
ever
seen
my
mother
sitting
in
a
chair.
She
has
been
here
for
5
months!
What
should’ve
been
two
days
of
training
was
done
in
10
minutes
for
tracheotomy
care,
and
feeding
tube.
Monday
was
here!
Her
release
was
scheduled
for
the
evening.
Well,
that
was
a
big
mistake.
She
was
sent
home
soiled
with
no
diaper
and
by
amateurs.
They
didn’t
know
how
to
move
a
patient
!
How
humiliating
and
degrading!!
Important
medication‘s
were
missing.
When
I
called
Sarah
I
was
told
at
home
health
has
to
deal
with
it
now.
Once
you’re
discharged
they
didn’t
care
what
they
screwed
up
or
about
you!
Well,
they
weren’t
coming
to
visit
me
for
two
days.
So
how
does
a
diabetic
go
for
that
many
days
without
medication?!
(Hospital
made
her
diabetic
by
the
way
)
They
also
ordered
the
wrong
cannulas
for
her
trach!
How
are
you
suppose
to
take
care
of
her
!?
I
knew
days
in
that
something
was
wrong
with
her.
I
had
spent
every
day
with
her
at
Rml
so
I
knew
when
she
wasn’t
herself.The
at
home
health
doctors
ignored
my
concerns.
By
the
end
of
the
week
I
was
calling
an
ambulance.
Once
I
arrived
at
the
hospital,
every
doctor
I
encountered
was
floored
that
I
was
allowed
to
take
her
home.
They
said
it
was
neglect.
They
couldn’t
believe
nobody
had
gotten
her
out
of
bed
for
the
five
months
that
she
was
at
Rml
hospital.
I
was
told
that
any
type
of
therapy
to
her
now
would
be
cruel
because
her
muscles
are
probably
atrophied
.They
were
shocked
by
the
amount
she
was
being
fed
daily
!
And
after
testing,
they
found
malignant
spots
on
her
lung
.
I
want
to
know
how
Rml
did
not
see
this
prior.
She
had
scans,
barely
a
month
before
when
she
was
incoherent
and
something
was
definitely
wrong.
Which
I
had
to
call
and
complain
to
get
something
done
then!
How
was
no
one
aware
that
she
clearly
had
a
stroke
at
UIC
Hospital
or
Rml
??
Obviously
by
the
condition
of
her
left
arm
it
happened!
I
can
go
on
and
on
.
Bottom
line
is
you
kept
her
alive
on
antibiotics
and
ran
out
her
insurance.
Whatever
doctors
you
had
assessing
her
condition
and
treating
her
should
be
investigated
and
fired.
You
tortured
my
mother
for
five
months
knowing
the
outcome
.
You
gave
my
mother
and
I
false
hope.
