Sad excuse for an ER. Super annoying seeing the front desk chick wear a mask under her nose while reminding patients to put theirs on correctly… Waited 5 hours after triage just to be seen by an idiot nurse who couldn’t even draw blood without bruising and making my mother have tears in her eyes. Instantly told him to get out and find another nurse who is confident they can do their job correctly. New nurse came in and she found the veins quick and easy! Thomas RN had zero bed side manners and the room was a hot mess. As a healthcare provider, it was evident that this hospital is understaffed and the rooms were barely being sanitized. Previous patients info on the white board, used heat pack on the floor, medi trace patches on the bed frame, NO clean blankets (and we all know the temperature of the rooms are COLD) gloves everywhere and an open sharps container with steri pouches/needle caps on the counter!! Dr. Soumya was knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. Let’s just say, we could not run out of there quick enough and will not be returning again.

I'm seeing a lot of bad reviews....I personally can't say enough good things about this hospital. 💜 My brother has been here for a few days (4th floor) and I have visited him twice so far. Both day.... Dr., Nurses, etc...one right after another has been extremely caring. He was there Christmas Eve and Christmas day (who really wants to work this days). The staff just acted like it was any another day with no complaining and great care. The rooms where amazing and clean. Keep up the great work!

Literally the worst patient care ever. My parents went to the ER because my mom was not feeling well. She has ear infection and upper respiratory infection. She’s been miserable.. 1) My parents walked in, and they were told that only the patient can go wait in the waiting area.. Why? Especially a person who is diabetic, can’t hear due the infection, and can’t talk since her throat is so dry due to congestion. Staff created a whole fuss, eventually my mom had to go into the waiting area herself. 2) Since my moms nose is congested, she has to breathe from her mouth making her mouth VERY dry and she needs water constantly. Well she brought a water bottle and after an hour her water ran out. She asked the nurse for some water, they denied her water.. How can you deny someone water? They didn’t even tell her where the water fountain is. Anyway, my mom asked if there’s a vending machine, they said yeah but you have to wait to go inside the emergency room to be able to use it, like what????? Finally, my mom asked another person and he told her where the fountain is and he even filled it up for her. God bless him. 3) Finally, after 2 and a half hours later she was brought back. The nurse who was “taking care” of her, was VERY rude. My mom ran out of water again and she refused to get her water. My mom also basically had to convince them to let her use the restroom. Like basic needs were not met. How inconsiderate. My mom asked for my dad when she got into the room and they made a whole fuss about letting him in even though they said that he can come once she’s in the room. The nurse was very rude, like she had no care for her patient at all. 4) The doctor came and he wasn’t even talking, ordered tests and my mom got them done. The doctors shifts changed, and my parents are waiting to hear back from the new doctor. My dad left the room to go talk to someone to see what’s happening. He was rudely yelled at to go back into the room and the doctor will come. Two hours later, the nurse comes and she’s like the doctor isn’t going to see you, the other doctor has done everything he could. What did the other doctor do? Nothing. My parents decided to leave because clearly nothing was happening. They went at 2 AM and came back at 9 AM, wasted 7 hours of their life and accomplished nothing. Worst patient care we have ever seen, definitely would not go back to the emergency department of CDH. Completely disgusted.

The wife and I really like these facilities. It's worth the drive to avoid travelling to downtown Chicago. The facilities are soothing and today I just had to take a few photos. I hope you enjoy them. BTW: our visit was for an appointment for an annual exam and both of us were pleased with the service. The staff are diligent with practicing CDC guidelines for COVID-19 in a effort to keep everyone safe. One word of advice: Make sure you give yourself enough time to find a parking space. Expect to spend at least 15 minutes looking. Just saying.

This is not a REAL northwestern hospital so don't be fooled by the name. The staff here are extremely rude. If you are not going in for a simple procedure, stay away from this place. The doctors may be extremely intelligent, but they are extremely poor communicators. The nurses in the ICU get annoyed when you ask them questions regarding the care of your loved ones. I'd like to quote one nurse. Her name was Debbie and she worked in the ICU. As I was asking her questions about my fathers care, this woman literally said "you have too much time on your hands, don't you"? We got my father transferred to northwestern downtown and it was a complete 180. Everyone downtown is sincere and much nicer. They actually care for their patients. Again if you care about your loved ones, do not take them to central DuPage hospital.

Really bad experience, used to think this was a decent hospital but was very wrong. Untrained staff, terrible management. I shattered my leg 3 years ago when I went so didn’t have to wait in the multi hour long ER. A specialist from another hospital came which was the only saving grace, he left the practice shortly after... Oh, the hospital also put an out of network specialists in my room (couldn’t ask when I was sedated) and god did they charge me. When I was recovering the nurses seemed confused on how to care for my leg. Why am I posting three years later? My brother went there for a potential stroke after a concussion, got an IV and sat there from 2pm to 8pm and was told it would be another 3 hours before he could be seen. He went to Edward’s and was seen in 15 minutes. Do not go here. Go to Edward’s or any other real hospital. This place is not only poorly managed but could possibly kill you.

The hospice service, Accentcare, that was recommended to us was ok for the at-home nursing but the facility at the end was a place that I wouldn't let a dog die. We came in at dinner time per our at nurse and were told that there was no doctor to evaluate my husband, no food unless you eat TV dinners, no one to bath a patient, no towels or washcloths in the bathroom so you could do it yourself. Just all around a horrible place for your last days.

Northwestern Medical Cental Dupage hospital in Winfield, IL is one of best hospital in US. There are thousands of physicians and more than 80 medical specialists are working fantastically for the people. They ranked very high orthopedics program in US. Medically trained interpreters are very much helpful. So there is no language barrier for the patients and the doctors. The front desk staffs are working very good, nice and efficient. They are very much comfortable with the clients. The location is very good. They have ample parking space. It’s a great blessing hospital that you can make use of it.

It is hard to rate the hospital because in 6 days, my daughter had three excellent nurses and two amazing patient techs who all deserve five stars. But, the rest seem to not understand, or have forgotten that patients need their compassion and help. My daughter had an operation that opened her from the breast bone to the pubic bone, a 14 inch cut. She had to be in the hospital for six days. One nurse had to start a new IV because the one she had was no longer working. She changed it nicely, and then proceeded to leave the needle from the failed IV in my daughters arm for over 24 hours. I had to ask her to remove it. One nurse said that she did not hear from my daughter regarding pain meds, but no one made it clear that she could ask for more than the routine meds.I am appalled at the lack of communication and concern by some of these nurses and patient techs! The persons who answered the intercom often sounded put out and annoyed. It is already difficult to be helpless, and then to be treated that way when you ask for the help you need is a hateful thing. If I had not been there everyday, who knows what else my daughter would have had to endure. The hospital needs to remind their staff to be kinder, more considerate, and do a better job.

This hospitals ER is one of the worst I have ever been to (and I have been to places from Chicago to multiple suburbs). They do not care about you AT ALL. My mom was forced to go there often since it was close. i have SO many complaints against them but yesterday was one of the worst. We waited 6 HOURS in the waiting room and had to leave because they told us my mom was not sick enough to been seen basically. They said she will be continually knocked down on the waiting list because she was stable. She has congestive heart failure and couldn't breathe with chest pains. They took her blood and EKG but refused to release the results to either me OR MY MOM who is the patient. Which is ILLEGAL by the way. At no point did anyone come out to tell us what was going on and we were very patient only asking twice the whole time we were there because we knew they were busy. Horrible Horrible place, if you can drive to ANYWHERE else. Hate this ER!

among all the bad reviews, i wanted to share my experiences with Northwestern. I was pinned between two cars for a few minutes earlier this spring. could not eat or do anything but sleep for a few weeks. My home is close by Good Sam in Downers, which i refuse to go to after a bad experience with their doctors a few years ago, just dismissing me entirely after terrible leg vein pain. And it took me a few weeks to go see them! I have always been a believer that we are provided most of what we need to heal through natural herbs and our bodies ability to regenerate and heal. After a few weeks of still not being able to eat and fatigued, started to frequent the doctors at NW. My primary is located in Glen Ellyn. I am often sent out to Winfield for tests. And these tests have been extensive. Just returned from a Upper GI scope and Colonoscopy this afternoon. Which I was super nervous about. This was my 4th test done at the hospital, with a few more to come. Each visit I have made to the hospital has been nothing short of professional, caring, efficient. The doctors and staff have always answered my concerns in an honest and reassuring way. The longest wait that I had was for a CAT Scan a few months ago, yet that was tolerable. I grew up in the city and had my daughter at Mercy Hospital..know quite a bit about doctors and staff who believe that you are just another number and task for them to complete. It is very difficult for me to trust another with my health. Yet, I am comfortable enough for the doctors to find out what they can so that I can continue to heal. I will say that most of the healing and recovery has been on my own up to this point. My goal of working with the doctors is to ensure that I do not have larger issues that can come back to bite me a few months or years down the road. When you are loosing weight without trying and can't eat even half of what you were once used to..it's likely time to get someone who is more knowledgeable involved with helping. Today's procedure was as "painless" and caring as possible. I am home feeling okay with only a slight discomfort in my lower belly. I am returning back next week for another test - this time to help me with my fibroid issue, which has been a problem on and off for many years. And to help me transition nicely into menopause. I trust them over any hospital in the area. My father in law and a friend have had terrible - and almost fatal experiences at Glen Oaks. Good Sam was great choice when my kids were younger - which was 20 years ago. The facilities at Northwestern are in good condition - their atrium is amazing. There is a reason why they rank so highly for many of their services. Every staff member has more then enough on their plates yet take time to ensure that they tend to your concerns and make you feel comfortable throughout the process.

If I could give a zero for their emergency room, I definitely would. Rude staff who care more about chatting with other staff members and security than the sick people in the waiting room. No communication with patients that have been waiting for hours. Taking people out of order and then lying about it to save face. Absolutely no care for those in their care. Watched a nurse be super ride to a woman who had broken her foot. She had been sitting since 1:30am (current time was 6am) and was asking her who to ask where she was in line because she couldn't walk up to the front. Nurse said she just needed to wait (very rudely) and not cause a problem! 🤨 Ridiculous!

I don't know about the rest of the hospital, but we were absolutely disappointed with our experience at the maternity ward. We are family visiting our new baby cousin and happy new mother. The baby's sister and mother's daughter was with us, almost two years old. For visiting rules, we were told those under 18 years old would not be allowed into the mother’s room. JUST the room. But, they said it was ok to bring the two year old inside the building and into the waiting room. She was wearing a mask. The head nurse at this unit (it was a Thursday at around 7 p.m.) was absolutely unprofessional and called us liars when she saw us. According to her, the two-year-old isn't allowed in the waiting room either. No kids unless they are the patients. We told her we were unaware of this, which we truly were because no one had told us otherwise. She then left and went back into the ward yelling. Minutes later out of nowhere, she came back and was the RUDEST I have ever been treated in my life. It was absolutely uncalled for. The nurse raised her voice and was yelling at us, calling us liars that we did know the rules, and saying we had to leave the building or she'd call security on us. Mind you, we were not arguing with her. We were simply apologizing and trying to explain ourselves. If you've been here, you know that you have to check in and get a tag with the receptionist downstairs before going up to the waiting room on the second level. We asked the receptionist and she said this was allowed, and did not stop us from taking the two-year-old upstairs. We understand if those were the rules, we would of course accept them. But the way this nurse spoke to us, and the fact that there was obvious miscommunication within the hospital staff in terms of what is and isn't allowed - we were so taken aback. I have never been treated like this in my life. The way we were treated and yelled at, plus threatened with security when we were not raising our voices or arguing is completely wrong. My now 22-year old daughter was born at Central DuPage and it has a special place in our hearts. But we are never coming back here again. Hope there are consequences for this horrendous head nurse. She cannot be treating people visiting at the hospital like this no matter the reason. And she ruined such a special moment in us visiting the newest member of our family.

Ask for Tylenol as soon as I came in since my hemoglobin is low I have a bad headache took them more or less than 3 hours. Needed to go to bathroom and ask for toothbrush and my nurse Jenny she ask me why? Told her minty scent will help my headache and soon as she get the toothbrush she told me just so u know this is not a priority which I understand but I told her that my headache is not her priority either. I got admitted on second floor and hallelujah everything is 5 star service excellent but ER never again. I wish I can just skip ER and just go straight to the unit but I know it’s not possible.

the staff was VERY rude and didn’t understand absolutely anything. they did things wrong such as put on the blood pressure cuff wrong and other things. i have never been to such a bad hospital in my life, the staff was very disrespectful and i feel like as a nurse you shouldn’t get mad at a patient for asking why things are taking so long and you shouldn’t get mad at the patient for asking for something to help with the pain. the staff took forever to come back and only checked on us hourly and even when we called for help they took forever to get to the room.

I cannot say enough good things about this place and the people in it. It is GORGEOUS, the rooms are unbelievably beautiful. It didn't feel like a hospital at all! They have a Daisy Award you can nominate nurses for and we honestly would not be able to pick just one to nominate. Every single person we were in contact with throughout this 4 night stay after coming in by ambulance through the ER was just incredible. We are so pleased with the care we've received, the personalities of the staff, the knowledge they offer and even the building. We will be continuing care here.

The hospital is actually a great hospital and most of the physicians that work here. But the facility has switched to having some type of agency to answer calls for all of the physicians offices and these people lack ethics, common courtesy, besides respect for the patients. It's very disturbing when a HOSPITAL decides to make cutbacks and hire outsiders which have people not equipped with the educational aspect nor professional etiquette of common communication with patients. This exacerbates a very negative reflection upon the hospital, hiring and staffing practices, and has numerous people seeking medical attention elsewhere because of the lack of communication, that they have answering all the physicians staffed at this hospital acquired patients questions besides giving outsiders personal and private information pertaining to that patient. HUGE HIPPA VIOLATION....The doctors are great .....those people now answering the phones are the reason for 2 stars. Been attending this hospital since 1978 and I'm appalled now with the ignorance of those answering the phones for the physicians offices.

I want to sing praises for the folks that build and support the MyChart medical system and device app. I like things simple and that’s how it is with the NM system of hospitals. I just wish they had more facilities farther south of Chicagoland. It has been a rough 3 days for me so far. Just had my 2nd COVID-19 vaccine and I was, and still feeling, horribly sick. Fever, chills, achy joints, no appetite for 3 days and other complications that I won’t mention and not spoil your dinner. My review is my personal experience for the coordination between the staff of all locations within the system. My PCP is downtown Chicago. Because of an urgent situation, the staff in Chicago suggested I find a site close to home. I chose the Wheaton office. Made an appointment online; meet with front desk person who was very kind and friendly. I was seen right away by a really nice person, Dr Horn. She was patient, listened, asked questions and setup a CT scan at nearby Central DuPage Hospital, off Winfield Rd. About a 10 minute drive. Same front desk experience. I was totally tired of filling out forms. But they said no problem: I could do all that with the technician. Got thru that easily. Peter, the CT technician, was one of the nicest people I have ever met. Really. We had a good chat, which I feel helped him to focus on what needed to be looked at. It was not just a rush in and rush you out. The entire test was less that 10 minutes. Later I was able to speak with the Dr at Wheaton and she even order a CD for me to take back to my regular Dr. And I was given a printout of the test results. Super. I just want to say something about a coordinated system. If you struggle with making appointments or keeping up with all your vaccinations and have doctors that have no system or use one that is antiquated it can be very frustrating. Slowly I’m working towards having all my care under one system. Less paperwork, less wasted time, less stress. BTW: ample parking at both locations and it won’t cost you a penny.

If I could give 10 stars to Central DuPage NW Emergency Room staff I would! I came in with infected chemo port catheter, from the moment I walked in I was greeted with care and compassion, and was in a room talking to a doctor within 30 minutes. Everyone that came by has great bedside manner, was caring and did what they needed to do with ease and very smoothly. I felt safe and cared for. I understand the frustration of waiting a long time in an ER to be seen but they do have to prioritize the patients by severity of each case. THANK YOU NW ER team!!! My RN Sean, you are amazing!!!!

Worst hospital ever. We went their because my sister got into a car crash and they didn't attend her after 3-4 hour even tho she came in a ambulance. Ask for a survey paper to leave my review but the doctors said they didn't have any and give me sarcasm. Also they asked my daughter how her pain was from 1-10 my daughter said 8 and they responded with no that's wrong you can't have that. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Could not disagree with some of the negative comments more aggressively. This was my first real inpatient experience and I'm still here as the writing of my comments Literally no waiting in getting admitted. I am here for head and face wound. So being in the hospital is no fun, regardless of how good your treatment is (mine has been excellent) and no matter how good the room service is (again, mine has been excellent). My experience is probably pretty similar to the vast number of other inpatients. Still more waiting than I would prefer but I have not felt ignored in anyway. However with that said, nurses, techs and doctors are still understaffed. So you can take my words and experiences for what it's worth. I genuinely feel that Northwestern medicine is doing a lot of good things for patients, but I'm not denying that others haven't had legitimately Could not disagree with some of the negative comments more aggressively. This was my first real inpatient experience and I'm still here as the writing of my comments I would highly recommend this medical group for neighbors, friends and family.

I have very little experience in medical facilities. This hospital saved my life. The Neuro department is exceptional. I understand coming in with a burst aneurysm in my brain is a real challenge.I did my best to go limp and comply, The doctor, name starts with an M has a Z in it, did a phenomenal job. The support staff was wonderful. I would call out 3 nurses or maybe PCT staff who made me feel safe and human. Della, Shannon, and Logan made me feel like more than a slab of meat. And the lady who came around and called me out for preferring cold soup from the can over what I could get from “room service.” She fixed that quickly. I asked thousands of questions, and everyone did their best to answer. Bless you all for all that you did for me.

My care here has been atrocious. I'm forced to come here because of my insurance. While I was in the ER, I fell on my head in the lobby. When the staff went to help me up, the nurse yelled at me. Due to the hospital's constant inadequacies I haven't seen a doctor in more than 6 months. I called to get a refill one my prescriptions and they removed one of them from my list of medications?????? I feel sorry for anyone who has to go to this awful hospital.

Avoid this place at all costs! I have had great experiences at other northwestern hospitals but this particular location is awful, especially radiology. I know every time I visit this location I will have to spend countless hours on the phone fixing their billing mistakes. Staff is rude, obviously there are great staff too, but the negative experiences far outweigh the positive. It really feels like this hospital sees you as a profit potential not a human.

I would give this hospital a zero if I could. This place has gone down the drain dramatically. First time issue-My husband has health problems and was in the hospital about 3 weeks ago. It took over 5 hours for him to get seen by a doctor. When he was admitted they put him on the 4th floor (pediatrics ) No doctor's came up to see him. The Indian nurse was very rude. Try to have a conversation and she just ignore you. Pt nurse was also nowhere to be found. Showed up 1or 2 times. He had to wait over an hour just to get walked to his bathroom. Terrible floor to be on. Second issue -Today (morning), he was in the hospital for chest pain. They did a EKG which came back normal so they sent him back out in the waiting area. Up at the check in desk We saw several people standing on the side of the desk and getting put thru to see their loved ones in back (I'm saying this because this is my complaint). Anyway, apparently you don't have the right to freedom of speech anymore. 5 hours later -My husband was still in his ER room waiting to go to his room again on the 4th floor. Well, the nurse upfront that checks you in cops an attitude with me and tells me I need to go to the back of the line. Then tells the African American lady security officer to leave me in. The security asked me what room and I told her. Well she said something to me and I said "I get your policy" and she says to me as I am walking away from her heading to my husbands room "You gonna have an attitude; you can leave"! She then comes to my husband's er room and said to me "If you don't follow protocol you will not be allowed here anymore". She said this right in front of him. First of all, I never copped an attitude with her and I am not going to stand for being threatened or accused of something I didn't do. Nobody should be treated like that!! I also understand that the people upfront are overworked, but that doesn't give them the right to talk to you that way either. Just plain rude. Again, my husband had to wait over 45 minutes just to go to the bathroom and never got his urinal back. My husband got very upset about the way I was treated and he discharged himself out. I would not recommend this hospital no matter how desperate you are. Go somewhere else. All they care about is the money.

This has been the best experience I’ve ever had at any hospital. Absolutely everyone has been so helpful, friendly and kind. From the receptionist, the nurses, the doctors, the darn maintenance staff (she literally stopped mopping the floor and walked in with blankets and pillows for me as a guest on her own accord). Random staff in elevators. Wonderful.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Dr. Fronza and the entire staff at the Central Dupage Hospital who took great care of me during my recent surgery. Being a son whose mother was a surgical nurse and two sisters also nurses they do not get enough acknowledgment. To Courtney, Samantha. Jill, Sarah and Justin my anesthesiologist simply “Thank you”.

Until today I considered CDH the best in the area...NO MORE! Brought my wife to the ER in severe pain. She was immediately seen and registered but was returned to the waiting room untreated still in extreme pain. After waiting 2 hours I was told they were very busy and it might be 5 hours before she could be treated!! POSSIBLY 7 HOURS IN PAIN WITHOUT TREATMENT! Is this the Dark Ages? CDH should be ashamed. The State Hospital Board needs to look into the Certification of the ER Department.

My mom had surgery here a couple weeks ago and they kept her overnight. Sadly, despite their "being focused on providing excellent care and high-quality service" my mom's care was about as far away from that as you can get. The first issue came after surgery when they put a purewick so she didn't have to worry about getting up to go to the bathroom. In theory, this would've been a good idea. HOWEVER, what ACTUALLY happened was that my mom sat in urine soaked clothing and bedding for TEN HOURS despite numerous attempts to get someone to come and change her clothing and bedding. The 2nd issue came with the fact that she was left in a bed for 15 hours despite having a shoulder replaced. Even with a knee replacement, you are up and walking right away. Third, the nurse failed to provide my mom with pain medication on a timely schedule, making her wait a full 6 hours and only giving her 1 pill, DESPITE the surgeon's orders of 1-2 pills every 4-6 hours. The nurse also tried to argue with the surgeon the next morning about the pain medication AND she tried to tell me that at discharge she should only be taking 1 every 6 hours. Finally, although she had been given an iceman, there were multiple times that staff needed to be hounded for it to be refilled with ice and the SURGEON ended up disconnecting it and all the surgical dressings from my mom's arm the next morning. The final slap in the face came in the form of a letter she received today from the hospital. It said that she had a purewick in place until it was deemed safe for her to get up and move around (uhm, SHOULDER???) with zero mention of the fact that she sat in URINE for 10 hours, and that according to their records, my mom had DECLINED further pain medication. This is actually falsified information as my mom tried numerous times to get additional pain medication. We have both left messages for patient liason Brittany. We do not have high expectations of receiving a return phone call. If this is your commitment to excellent care, we are all in trouble.

They will pushed a c section on you if you don't have the baby in there timeline. Nurses constantly coming in every hour scaring you and making up lies so they can do a c section. I knew this going in but didn't think it was going to be as bad as it was. Beware of this and if anything don't go here to have you're baby

Please if you are concerned worried scared about your health do NOT go to this hospital. I went to this horrible Hospital because of chest pain and was told by urgent care to go . After waiting over 1.5 hrs I decided to leave . When I got home I received a email stating I got test results . I looked at my chart only to see I had a blood test result . The thing is I was never seen by any doctor at this horrible hospital and NOBODY ever took any blood from me . So I got someone else’s blood work in my chart Apparently they had my name with stickers on it when I did register with the ER . I did go to Edwards Hospital and had perfect care everyone was incredible and professional at Edwards Hospital. Also they did not put in someone else’s tests in my chart I only got my test results . So please please do not go to CDH Hospital

My mom started about 6 weeks ago with an issue of pain in stomach and lost the ability to eat hardly anything without pain and nausea. She has seen 3 different doctors from primary, gastro and oncologist. The oncologist stopped treating her until primary could treat her for her issue. The primary could not help so she went to gastro who did a few tests and said all looked good. Told her it go to ER if not going well. So we did, three times, first time sent her home after CT clear. Second time asked her what she would like them to do for her and sent her home. Third time we visited told her that there is nothing they can do since doctors note showed all is good with two tests that were given. She now sits miserable, slowly waning due to not getting nutrition and turned away from all help. CDH used to be what the advertising says but now it is sad that patients are not actually cared for. I will share my experiences with every method possible for her treatment by the corporation rather than treating the patients with dignity and compassion. I pray that no other family experiences what we are going through. The only way to change is to go to other systems instead of using NWM. I suggest placing your most important people in the hands of those that will listen and provide real care.

My wife and I have been going to Northwestern medicine for twelve years. My wife had a issue with a doctor who refused to treat her. We also had big problem with the pain clinic. So we called patient relations what a joke they basically did nothing. So between the doctor, the pain clinic, being over charged and no follow through. It seemed as though they didn't care. We dropped several of our doctors and found others closer to home. The group is so much more professional with no stress.

Always clean. The ER is a big NO GO. My husband was checked in for chest pain because the doctor wouldn’t see him with that pain, so when he went there after having pain for a few days, he was in and out of the ER within 3 hours and they said nothing wrong….well their billing is DISGUSTING because they charged the highest possible charges just for the ER visit. They called it a class 4 or highest ranking according to their billing dept. I questioned. How can someone who wasn’t omitted and had to go to the ER since the doctor won’t make an appointment for that symptom & be discharged as no issue be charged over $3k just for the visit, (that is only the visit- not the blood work, doctored charges etc.) Anyway, their breast clinic is very slow but amazing staff. Also all the radiology department I’ve encountered was nice, helpful and kind. If those Dr parents weren’t as awesome, I’d give 2 stars.

The pediatric ER is beyond amazing. The nurses were wonderful and caring and as a parent I felt like they cared for my daughter and wanted her feeling better as soon as possible. Tests were completed with results reviewed quickly and a treatment plan, that we all agreed with, was put in place right away. This was our families 5th trip to this ER (active, fearless athletes) and we have had phenomenal service each time.

This place is a joke. They transfer over half their patients to Northwestern because they are completely incompetent to deal with any situation. They need to be UP FRONT with their patients and tell them what they can and cannot do. My personal experience- my family was called obnoxious because we were "hoping for the worst situation" with my pregnancy. This came from the head of the department too. We were, in fact, trying to prepare for the worst case scenario and we were told that it could and would be handled with ease. Next thing we know a nurse tells us we are being transferred. Not the doctor. The doctor fought with us, once again the head of the OB Duly department. In order for him to stop arguing after my family had enough, I had to yell that I was going to rip out my IVs if he didn't stop, he still didn't stop so I said it two more times and finally he backed off. Does this really sound like a place you want to trust your life with? Go to Edward's in Naperville.

Stellar upscale hospital that has expanded over the years to be a multidisciplinary multi faceted f ability with lots of divisions & departments. Now a Northwestern University branch in the suburbs!

Was sent to have a CT Scan. Immediate Care let them know I was coming. Waited 2 hours no scan. So I left. They do not respect nor value client's time. Only their own. Let patients know when they will be seen. Be accountable for time management.

Outpatient experience was mixed. They ask you to show up 2 hours before surgery and start one hour late. So too much time sitting around. Recovery nurses were nice but different nurses have different idea about which exit to use. While some nurses say you can take your time to be picked up, some kept asking about when you will be picked up. Also same question asked 5 times about who is with you and who will he picking up.

My mother whom is 86 years old was in this hospital for 5 days last week. While my sister told the Head nurse in charge she was taking my mom for a walk around the atrium they returned to her room with all their cash stolen out of both their purses. It was the day they checked her in my sister told my mom I'm taking $30 cash and leaving her 12 singles in your purse in case you needed something during her stay. They went for that walk around the atrium and returned to my mother’s room. My sister was going to tip someone before she was leaving for the night and noticed the $30 missing out of her purse and so were $10 singles that my sister left in my mom’s purse ( the thief nurse in charge Janice ) left my mom $2 singles. My sister mentioned something to the Head thief nurse Janice and she told my sister that this has never happened before but when the Head thief left the room the technician in the room told my mom and sister that it was happening more often.. My mom said that nurse was mean to her and after the nurse (Janice) was confronted by my sister about the money that she started telling my mom how she couldn't pay her bills and she's working 16 hour shifts. My mom had to stay in the that hospital for 4 more days after the Head nurse in charge violated her and my sister, she's still crying. Our family has been using this hospital for decades and the last couple of visits for family members have been horrific and traumatizing. Being understaffed or overworked does not give your employees the right or permission to violate your patients and treat them poorly. I'm disgusted and disappointed

Hey! Thought I'd pop in here an write a quick review since all the ones this hospital seems to get are negative. This hospital has saved my life numerous times. Been there a couple times for inpatient psych. Was on the kids' unit and then went to the adult unit when I made it past 18. This most recent visit I think a lot about though. I was on 3 center specifically for suicidal ideation. While I was there I met a nurse whom I will not name for safety reasons. But one thing she told me that I will never forget is "never let anyone tell you that you cant do something." The topic was regarding my future and the job I wanted. She was a nurse being trained on that floor to eventually move to 5 center. I hope she's doing well. But anyways my experiences here have always been amazing. Thank you guys for everything you do. Merry Christmas.

😠 The staff is rude. Doctors are the worst. Nurses assume anyone on Medicare or Medicaid is an addict. This hospital needs an overhaul and all new staff. If you want to be treated by 3rd world medicine then by all means go here.
