I would not recommend this gym until it gets new management. The manager (Harold Coleman) is a con artist! Tricks people into buying the ultimate membership package when the hydromassage bed hasn't even been working for the past year. Not only that he also refuses to cancel peoples membership to keep his numbers up. I know this because I used to work the front desk, Coleman would just toss the cancellation letters from members aside so they can keep getting charged. His trick was to say that there's no proof that there was ever a letter turned in because it wasn't certified. Coleman would avoid calls from upset customers at all costs to prevent their memberships from being cancelled. Coleman does nothing but play games on his phone and abuse his power my making the staff do everything in the gym for him, he also made a few write fake 5star reviews for the gym how sad.

I strongly encourage anyone reading this review to take your business elsewhere. There is a reason 9 out of 10 recent reviews as of the time of writing this are 1 stars. I moved out of the area in December 2021 due to a fire at my apartment. I was told that I could freeze my membership free of charge but would have to call in every 3 months to reup. First three months went without charges then I called up to continue freezing my account. The associate I spoke with said they would take care of it. The next month I noticed my account was being charged full price. I called the Irving Park gym to inquire only to find out that the request was never put into the system. I was told to call ABC fitness solutions for a refund. ABC fitness solutions let me know that they could not issue refunds on the call and to call the club back for a refund. The manager on duty let me know that I would have to speak to another manager for a refund. I elevated to that manager (Harold) via email and then later on a phone call. He assured me I would receive a refund in the coming days. I have never received that refund. Furthermore, the gym cancellation policy is problematic. There is no reason in 2022 that the only way to cancel your membership is by sending a letter via mail to a corporate PO box. Making the cancellation process intentionally difficult for customers may not be illegal but it is morally bankrupt.

If you value quality in any form, work out somewhere else! There’s MANY reasons why there’s they have this number of 1 star reviews. My first impression of this gym is that it’s dirty. In my experience with past gyms this one could use some work. Most of the machines on top level don’t work, or if they do, they function at a sub par level with buttons malfunctioning constantly. I went on a weekend once at night and walked in to find no one at the counter! I later was informed that they only work Monday through Friday leaving it unattended on the weekends. As a young woman it was a bit of a fearful experience as the locker room has no door and without attendants who’s stopping anyone (with or without a membership) from entering. On top of everything I called recently to ask about how to cancel my membership and they told me that I needed to send a certified LETTER, yes a LETTER, to some random business in Arizona! I found this incredibly shocking and could only see this going poorly for myself, as the employee told me they’ve had lost letters before and people charged months after they mailed it. After a simple 10 minute Call to ABC fitness solutions (the company where I was supposed to mail my letter) a representative canceled my membership with ease. Which leads me to believe that Retro Fitness management is instructing their employees on this crazy round about way of cancellations to force costumers to pay for more months as letters are being ‘lost in the mail’ or whatever they have you believe. Anyway I will say the in person customer experience is good I’d say, the employees seem happy and generally helpful. They do also offer some neat services I hadn’t seen before. All in all if you want a good gym experience go elsewhere. And if you fell into the trap like myself just CALL and cancel before wasting time and money on a letter. I hope management improves and does better as id love to use the gym that’s SO close to where I live but enough is enough:(

I typically don’t leave reviews but I am floored by my experience with this gym. Three months ago I dropped off a cancellation in PERSON, Only to learn two months later that my membership is still active! I was not charged for the month following the cancellation which led me to believe that all was fine, but here we are. I have called multiple times and now live out of state and was told they would do me a favor and put my account on hold…. HOLD? I literally canceled it so that should have been the solution offered. Like other reviews, they are stating that they don’t have a record on file of my letter. It’s not the money but the principal. I did my part as a member for over a year in paying and canceling per my contract. It’s a shame there is a gap on their end…. Would not recommend bc of that amongst other things like their kids club rarely being staffed during the hours offered…it’s definitely put horrible taste in my mouth about Retro Fitness Gyms

Avoid this place at all costs. I came in to cancel my membership with a signed letter. The manager simply said 'its taken care of', but this was not the case. I was charged for another month of membership and my membership was still active. I had to call corporate and was finally able to get the account cancelled. Deceitful and shady business practices STAY AWAY. They also bribe customers to submit a good review in order to cover up the negative reviews. You can see signs around the facility that advertise this.

Update 04/22/2022: After I dropped off a copy of cancellation letter at the gym in person (because they couldn't find the letter I gave them since last year). The manager Nancy reached out to me and assisted me regarding the issue I had. Thank you for your assistance, Nancy. This place is so terrible and I wish I could give them negative star or nothing. I wanted to cancel my membership last year (around January 2021). So, I contacted them. I tried to reach out to them and asked for a manager several times. Only the manager can assist me to resolve this issue (according to the staff informed me) but the manager NEVER AVAILABLE to talk with me though! They told me they will take my contact info and have their manager call me back. That NEVER happened!!!! Again, they told me to write a letter for cancellation. So I did that and went there just give it to them in person. They still charged me for one more month, when I called them asking about this charge, they said it's for cancellation fee. Since then, I never get charged again and thought my membership was cancelled until now (March 2022). I got charged on my bank account which I didn't even authorize it. Of course, reaching out to Retro Fitness and they said my account was freeze. But how that happened??? I wanted to CANCEL my membership, not freezing it. On my letter stated it clearly that "I want to cancel my membership". And of course the manager wasn't available at this time again. One of the staff member took my contact info and saying that she will have the manager call me. This is so very unhelpful when it comes to people's money. All I need is please just CANCEL my membership.

Would give this place ZERO stars if possible. Have been trying to cancel my membership for months now and still getting charged. I did my duty in walking in the cancellation letter but their team member lost it. Then called and spoke to a manager named Taylor. Luckily still had the letter saved sent to her company email. Nothing happened called again after another charge. Luckily that manager put my account on freeze and told me that Taylor was no longer there. Then a week ago got another charge for close to $70. Talked to the manager Harold who I forwarded the email on to showing I did my part 3 times already to cancel. Said my account would be closed but it's still open and no refund that was promised. Do Not join this gym, just a massive scam. Update: I want to thank the retro fitness team, especially Harold who followed through with the actions he said he would take. If the entire experience was like it was with Harold, there would be zero issues and a better customer service experience!

Second floor is good but 0 floor don't have enough air. You see most of review is 5 star but almost all of them lie. They give free items when you give them 5 star. Read agreement before sign!!! You will understand it was trap after signed. They will charge from your account unauthorized fee.

Keep in mind. This is my first 1 star review ever. I only do 5 stars or no review at all. I been trying to cancel my membership of 3 people for over 8 months. Before signing up for this gym please beware. I been trying to cancel my membership for 10 months. 10 months. The rule is, the person has to come in with a letter in a envelope with the names of the account, and gym card number. I did that 3 times. I don't live in the area no more. It takes me more then a hour to travel to that gym. Still never canceled. I believe it's a scam. I've called more then 30 times. Not 1 time was a manager there. They say the same thing. A manager will call back. A manager has never called back. Going on 10 months. Each time I went up there. A Manager wasn't present. This operation is the worst I've ever seeing. I might have to sue. I'm more then reasonable I believe. 10 months. 8 months I've been charged 960. That's Damm near a 1000 dollars. Today I called for the last time. And the worker had the audacity to say I was raising my voice. I didn't curse once, I didn't say anything disrespectful. Yes I'm feed up. There was no manager present again. But I've been nothing but understanding. I just can't believe a company can be this incompetent. Worst experience I've ever had in my 30 years of life. Please everyone read this before signing up. This is a sad story, but it is all fact.

I was terribly mistreated by the staff today. I'm paying roughly 45$ for membership. For these money - I'm not provided with proper pulley handles for the many unilateral cables machines they have. But also when I bought my own , and I forgot them at the gym - I was refused to have them back, even after I stated I have my receipt for them - the guy on the front desk told me - "I don't know" and was looking at me like I got 3 heads. And the personal trainer just shrugged at me. I understand the front desk guy doesn't do a lot at the gym - so I don't expect him to know what equipment they have. But what about the personal trainers? I would never give my health in the hands of someone that's doesn't know what equipment they have and is there every day.

No complaints about the gym itself - it's a low rate, and you get what you pay for. Other than repairs/maintenance being slow, the gym is fine if you have realistic expectations. As a lot of people here have noted, the membership cancellation process is absolutely ridiculous. I'll just say people's comments before me are all accurate - I don't need to rewrite the whole thing, I'm here to leave some advice for people since so many seem to be having the same problems. 1. They will tell you that you have to mail a physical, written paper letter including your reason for cancellation to their owner "ABC Fitness Solutions" in order to cancel the membership (what year is this, 1990?), and after that when they still do nothing, they will put the burden of proof on you and require a tracking number to verify that you actually mailed it. SAVE YOUR TRACKING NUMBER IF YOU TAKE THIS CANCEL-BY-MAIL ROUTE. 2. Meanwhile, they appear to have the ability to cancel your membership at the gym. They did still tell me to bring in a physical copy of the cancellation letter, but that it had to be handed directly to a manager (the staff wouldn't take it from me, nor did any of them have the manager's schedule - so I had to keep showing up at the gym at random times until a manager finally just happened to be available). The manager read the letter, went into their computer, and canceled my membership on the spot. Great. I don't have a clue why they would ask people to mail their letters to Arkansas if they can do it at the gym so easily. HOWEVER! IT TURNED OUT 6 MONTHS LATER THAT THEY DIDN'T CANCEL IT AND I HAD BEEN CHARGED EVERY MONTH SINCE. IF YOU TRY TO CANCEL THIS WAY, GET PROOF THAT THEY DID IT. 3. After all this, it turns out the whole written letter (whether it's mailed or handed to the manager) isn't even necessary to begin with. I called ABC Fitness Solutions directly, and they were able to look up my Retro Fitness membership and cancel it immediately, as well as send me a confirmation email as proof. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Of course, when I thought I had successfully canceled my membership 6 months earlier, they told me I would no longer have access to the gym after a certain date - so, they were charging me every month since, while having me believe I didn't have access to the gym. I'll try to update this to let the world know whether they ever refund me the past 6 months' membership fees or not.

By far the worst experience , I been trying to cancel my membership since April. I dropped off two letter. Call to speak to both managers Nancy and Harold. Till now I haven’t received a phone call. Left several messages, one of their colleagues Yesenia called to collect payment. She said she would let them know of the situation and still haven’t received a phone call. Send out a certified letter to corporation and now they are telling me my account is on hold for a cancellation but now I have to pay $100+ . After trying to cancel since April and been paying my membership. It’s ridiculous. Bad customer service. I can’t believe it’s taken 5 months to cancel this membership. And if you don’t pay you will be send to collections FYI.

Canceled within 3 days of getting the membership because the place had awful equipment and they refused to refund me even though I canceled within the days that the contract said you’d get a full refund. DO NOT GO HERE. The manager never called me back after calling them 4 days straight. You are better off anywhere but here. Super unprofessional.

HIGHLY PERSUADE AGAINST Retro fitness because canceling membership at Retro is a nightmare. I moved from Chicago to Palatine in Dec 2020 and I requested cancellation in person at the gym, paid my balances and was told that was all set. A month later, they charged me another monthly fee, plus late fee and yearly ones. I called the gym and ABC financial several times who says they no longer accept in-person cancellation (simply said that a guy who cancelled at the gym didn't know the job) and asked me to mail the request and I did. Now they're asking cancellation fee of $20 and charging monthly and late fees of $19 meanwhile even I thought my account was on freeze. I'M WARNING YOU BEWARE of signing a contract. ONCE YOU'RE IN IT, THERE WILL NO SUCH THING AS CANCELLATION UNTIL YOU LOSE SEVERAL HUNDRED BUCKS. Update on Apr 30. They don't resolve or take any action on this. I still couldn't cancel my membership, it's been 5 months :(

Thanks to the manager, Steven Nguyen, I didn't sue Retro Fitness and ABC Financial for overcharging my debit card $300 on more than one occasion. Their billing/financial team is clearly incompetent. Below is an email from John-Michael (corporate) trying to silence me. He said money was not taken from me, but if that were the case, how did I get my money back 6 months later? Steven worked so hard to make sure I received my refund, and I am so grateful that he didn't brush me off. Cool coaches aren't enough to make this business worth working with.

This gym is nasty! My husband had a membership here and I would tag a long from time to time. I was amazed at how dirty this place was, and my husband was paying somewhere between $35-50 a month to go here! I wish I had taken pictures, but the walls have dirt and dust all on them and so does the equipment. You can just tell they never wipe any of this stuff down. And the equipment looks outdated. It’s just definitely not worth the price. Seriously the dirtiest gym I’ve ever been to. I would not recommend it

Inconsistent face covering policy. It amazes me that half of the grown men in there can't handle wearing their face mask properly or at all in some instances. This even happens in front of the check-in desk. Staff should remind members how to wear one properly at each check-in and continue to do so when they walk around. Hopefully the gym won't have to shut down again because a simple task is too much for some or worse, a virus cluster originates from there. Aside from that, nice clean gym.

Horrible Experience. I signed up my wife and I for the membership. We were locked in to a year agreement and could not cancel without incurring a early termination fee. We waited until the year was up and had to physically go in to cancel, They would not do it on the phone. We signed our papers and were told we would be charged again because they need 30 days notice of cancellation. I proceeded to pay for the extra month we would not use, and once I thought we were all finished, I then received two $39.99 fees claiming they are an annual fee that must be charged to my account. They claimed they could not reimburse the fees, even though I obviously cancelled already. PLEASE USE ANOTHER GYM, YOU WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER!!

Have been a member of this gym for over 3 years and until the last few weeks the following issues were never present: I have shown up 3 times in the past week and a half and no staff showed up for work I guess and not able to work out. The manager assured me after the 2nd time this was taken care of and would never happen again. Due to my work I have to work out earlier in the day so I am paying for a gym I am not able to access. Management should be at openings for an extended period every day to both insure staff are coming to work and insure the gym is open on time for members to be able to access. Unfortunately staff performance is reflective of management when it is a continued issue. I love the facilities and equipment but if I can't use it, not sure if I will continue paying membership here due to these issues.

25 years of working out in the gym at the top rated gym. Retro Fitness by far has the best equipment than any gym I’ve ever been to, Harold the manager is awesome and willing to help and train anyone to reach their goals, genuinely a great guy who cares about peoples fitness If you were looking for a place to work out they definitely have the best state of the art equipment, they also have free tanning and massage bed included. Prices are extremely affordable I can almost guarantee you get there 3 day pass and you’ll be very impressed and want to join the gym If you would like one of the best trainers in the industry. Contact Aleyna at this location, she will not only meet but exceed any levels of expectations. You’ll be toned and healthier than you’ve ever been.

Wish I could rate 0 stars, literally the worst gym ever. They told me in April they had issues finding my membership, I showed them my credit card app where the payments come out of and he told me he will fix it or have a manager fix it, today they said the same thing again which takes time out of my workout n is also frustrating bc one goes to the gym to relax not to deal w their clerical errors, I was finally fed up n told them I wish to cancel my membership and I was told I have to write a letter to their corporate office when their website states you can cancel at the gym where u signed up, on top of that we will have to bring our own cleaning supplies to work out during Covid bc they were always out of paper towels or the watered down cleaning solution they offer, no social distancing whatsoever and will allow guests to walk freely without a mask. Gym is always packed, no accessories like handles for their equipment, at least 8 machines out of service and I can go on about what’s wrong with these place. Do yourself a favor and don’t sign up for their membership 7/12 update: they haven’t cancelled my membership even tho I talked to a rep in the lobby (Joe) who gave me their P.O. Box address to mail a letter which I did, they are now saying they need the letter to be thru certified mail which the the post office said they can’t do for po boxes, I’m now being charged another month plus a service fee plus a late fee totaling $57. Seriously no way to get out of this, I already signed up for another gym and I’m paying for a service I won’t use. Membership impossible to cancel, please be aware!

Around june 26th when the gym reopened to the public, members were sent an email containing the measures that they would be taking to protect members from the spread of covid. This included taking all member’s temperature at check in, having a staff member sanitizing machines and equipment throughout the day, stopping the use of every other locker and treadmill, and requiring guests and employees to wear masks. In the week and a half that they’ve been open, I’ve had to ask for my temperature to be checked by a staff member multiple times because they didn’t do it upon my check in, it makes me wonder how many others haven’t been checked and could possibly be sick. I have never seen a staff member sanitizing any equipment at all, no matter what time of the day it is. Most of the time I walk in, the employee at the front desk has their mask pulled down even though they’re often talking to a member that is closer than 6 feet away from them. There is also no enforcement of other members wearing masks, although most of them do it on their own but not all. I believe that half of these measures that were supposedly put into place are really just a lie and decided to post my thoughts here after finding no way to email the manager about my concerns.

I've been pretty happy with Retro Fitness, I signed up about few months ago and the process was quick and easy. I pay $35/month for the package including childcare but there's one for $20/month. I start out my session on one of the hydromassage chairs (the first time I tried it I wasn't impressed with the pressure-which was on the highest setting--10-- but every time after has been much more powerful and a great experience). There are tons of free cardio machines and I've never had to wait to go on the stairmaster even though there are only two. The childcare was my favorite part at the beginning, but now I wish they would just take the tv out. I feel like my daughter often watches TV instead of playing and I think not having a tv would encourage the kids to play more. They have cute little exercise equipment that the kids can use as well as a coloring table, play mats, and other toys and chairs. The equipment is all very new (it's all red and yellow so kind of an eyesore, but you get used to it). The locker rooms are very nice and always clean. There's a cardio cinema, but several of the machines squeak so I avoid it. Parking is also much easier than most places in Chicago. The main con is that the childcare doesn't overlap with any classes which is a bummer. Once they get more kids coming, they said they would increase the hours (I didn't believe them at first but they did add childcare to the weekend since a few other kids started coming, so they seem trustworthy). There doesn't seem to be any good mat to do core work, so I just use the individual mats in the cardio classroom, but it's not ideal. Also, the kettle bells and other fun equipment is off limits except for the personal trainers and their clients. I totally understand (I used to be a personal trainer, and I know how annoying it can be to have people on your equipment when you need it) but wish we could use them when no one else is. I prefer more functional workouts, and am somewhat limited without that equipment. None of these are a big deal though, I'm just spoiled coming from a great gym in California.

I first came here and used it for a few weeks (good equipment, pretty good gym as far as hardware and space). I had stopped going before covid struck, once Covid happened the gym suddenly stopped charging my account without an email or call or word of any kind as to the status of the gym. For all I knew it had completely shut down and didn’t exist anymore. Months go by and still no charge. Then one day I get a charge for retro fitness, I call and try to have my membership canceled but they say it has to be done and in person and only when a manager is around...not exactly fitting to my schedule to be going off of some gym managers schedule. Weeks go by and I make several phone calls asking for my membership to be canceled and no one can do anything for me. Instead they give my number to some collection agency that calls non stop. One day they finally charge my account for like triple what they thought I owed them, I called and again nothing can be done over the phone. Which is funny cause my initial sign up and payment was done online completely solo. You can take our money over the phone but if we ask to stop taking it we have to show up in person. And screw the policy, that should be modified on account of COVID-19 you can’t force ppl to come in person with a big disease going around. Especially a gym which is germ central. This is a nice facility ran terribly Update: still have never heard from a manager and am still getting emails saying that there’s a problem with my account. Also after reading many reviews with the same problem I am considering cooperating with other former members who are still having trouble and putting together a small legal team to take Retro Fitness and it’s sticky finger sidekick ABC Financial to court. We might be years in court but I’ve got nothing but time.

I go here because there is nothing better in the area. Pros: It has a lot of newer machines and weights to get the job done. Staff is nice but has high turnover. I think there have been like 4-5 fitness coach managers in a year. Cons: Barely any classes- and they're offered at a limited schedule. Things break and they are left broken for months. Leg machine was broken for 3 months. Toilet was closed for a month upstairs. We had a coat rack, it broke and they just didn't replace it. Cleaning equipment is empty or broken often. At some point, this equipment will age and break more often and Retro will have nothing for people to use unless they get used to fixing things quickly. But this place is better than Xsport down the road, so...

It is uncomfortably painful to cancel this membership. I moved In February and they just charged my account in June again. I went in person to cancel in February and I was assured I wouldn't be charged. It's incredible how anytime I call someone gives me the run around of how they will take my name down and speak with the manager. I just called again today, 6/30, let's see how long it takes for a manager to call me back.

I've renewed my personal training sessions 3 times so far. Each trainer I've worked out with is great about stressing the importance of proper form to prevent injury and how diet plays a key role in getting solid results from the work I put in at the gym.

One of the BEST gyms I have been a member of. Machine’s always work, staff has always been friendly and easy to talk to. I also wanted to add some props to the new opener. I have been going to this gym for a good while now. I remember thinking how dirty this gym was in the mornings but the new opener hired has really changed it around. The gym in the mornings has been extremely clean and smelling great since he started. Which is a boost when you already didn’t want to workout in the mornings. The last thing you want to deal with is a musty smell. To the entire Retro fitness staff keep up the great work.

I signed up to this gym because it was a 2 minute walk from my apartment. The color scheme is a headache. If Ronald McDonald designed a gym this would be it. Machines never work. This 300 pound yoga instructor Tristian just kicked me out of a studio where there’s a heavy bag for boxing to do a session with 1 person wouldn’t have an issue but the guy was extremely rude about it. Also the WiFi upstairs never works and the building gets no cellular signal.

Don't do it, if you are planning to cancel the membership at some point in the future. The process was supposedly easy when I enrolled, it became a mess and you cannot easily break free from the monthly fee. It is a nice gym, but the cancelation process simply take all the stars they deserve.

I love this gym! Ever since they’ve opened back up with new management things look great! It’s clean and always well kept. Every time I check in they’re checking temperatures and making sure members are wearing masks. It’s good to be back!

Face mask policy is not enforced at all upstairs. Need to say reminders to wear it correctly/put it on. Saw about 3-4 people not wearing them at all today.

Its a great gym with all the appurtenant equipment needed for a great workout. The best thing is they have childcare which is a big incentive for couples to workout together after regular work hours. We were really impressed by the quality of childcare especially the provider Nima who is very nice with the kids and we never have to worry about our kids under her supervision. She was accommodating of our schedule on multiple occasions and never reached out to us for any kids related issues during our workout. We highly recommend this gym to everybody but especially to those people who have kids to be taken care of while they’re at the Gym.

-Very professional, kind staff, and the Operations Manager, Harold is always making sure that the staff is consistently cleaning the gym around the clock. Not to mention Gavin, and Catherine's fantastic customer service skills. -Staff has positive demeanor and are always eager to help. -Good membership prices, and amenities. Very safe and compliant especially under this unprecedented time that we're currently in. -One last thing, they are very consistent with the face covering policy, and constantly remind the members over the loudspeaker with announcements every half hour or so.

DO NOT GO HERE. I decided not to return and now I have collections harassing me. Who needs this? Find another gym. I wish I listened to the poor reviews before I started going here. Avoid the vane attempt of extortion. Believe me, you'll be gad that you did.

Really good gym been seeing a lot of negative reviews because of their cancelation policy which kind of made me not wanna sign up but I went in and the staff was super nice they did explain their cancelation policy which is weird never heard of a hand written letter being needed to cancel a membership but going back to the actually gym the facility is awesome super nice staff equipment is good they also have a punching bag which is a plus the running machines are some of the best ones I’ve seen and the best part is that it’s never over crowded and the people are really clean always put back their equipment really cool place highly recommended

My friend Marko who works the front desk, literally was the reason I ever came to retro. I was going to a different gym for over 7 years. He told me to come to Retro at Irving and I cannot believe how happy I am. Marko has been consistent, honest, and caring about all of the members. Not just me. Always looks to improve the gym in some way shape or form. Without Marko, the front desk wouldn’t be as fun. I absolutely love this gym, the other staff is super friendly. I love this gym, and if it wasn’t for Marko I would have never found it!

Lowkey place to workout which is nice. Solid equipment too. The managers are bossy and manipulative, the contracts sus too and you'll be charged some extra fees every year (50+). Changed the membership price on people too without notice.

Have a good range of equipment for weight training with free weights and machines. Enough cardio equipment to not have wait times during peak hours. Great staff and great gym overall!

Pretty basic gym - not dirty but also very surface level clean. Womens bathroom always out of toilet paper, only one soap dispenses soap the other never ever has soap.. cheap! Massage chair/table broken for god knows how long- customer service was okay not horrible. If you want to cancel they make it seem soooo complicated by writing a letter sending it to some PO Box. Just call ABC solutions & they will cancel it for you no problem! Too expensive for what they offer not worth it

Retro Fitness is a great gym to begin or continue your fitness journey. I have been training with Harold since August 2022 and have seen phenomenal improvement in fat loss and muscle gain. His meal recommendations and fitness plans on the days we are not training together help me stay accountable and on track with my goals. I highly recommend.

During my 3 weeks vacation in Chicago i found this good located, friendly and competent gym for my daily workout. This clean and good equipped gym was was a great place to workout, during my stay. The trainers and management have been helpful and i liked the shakes! 5 stars cause i don't find anything i can complain about.

Great place to be! They have multiple classes, tanning and hydromassage chairs available. One amazing feature is a movie theater room in which you can work out while watching. Ask for Harold, he will definitely help you out!

Rick, Colie and Allen are amazing coaches. I’ve lost 30 lbs in 4 months and I honestly couldn’t of done it without their help. Being a full time mom is draining but the motivation that my coaches give me I continue to make time and go to the gym. Ana who works in the kids club is also a huge help, my kids have really connected with her which makes my workouts way less stressful or worry sum, Retro is great gym for the whole family!

Retro fitness has all the equipment I need to do the exercises prescribed by my personal trainer. The equipment is in excellent condition and they just got new weights, medicine balls, and other equipment on the second floor. Now everything is right in one spot which makes it easier to do all my workouts. Also, it's never over crowded so you don't have to wait on equipment.

So far I’ve been loving the two weeks that I’ve been here! Everyone is super friendly, shoutout Steven, Rick, Enrique, & Jake! Never crowded, always clean + reliable. Team classes are a great workout, but I’m also very comfortable doing a workout by myself. All around definitely recommend checking it out!

I canceled my membership and am still getting charged. This isn't the first time I'm falsely charged for something at this gym. I honestly think they think of their customers as just a quick coin-grab but don't actually Foster relationships, at least at the manager level.

ZERO HELP. Cancelled my account a year ago and still being charged. Harold the manager refuses to help. Scam company, left a note to cancel membership and a year later still being charged. Harold takes no accountability and just sent me to a loop of customer service numbers that provide 0 help.

Great place for anyone who is tired of big crowded gyms and want to feel a more isolated vibe. It’s like the less movement around you the better. A plus In my book !
