Ugh I so did not want to be disappointed but I was! A friend had recommended this coffeehouse and I was so excited to try it out. If I lived nearby this is a coffeehouse I'd love to swing by to get a yummy cup of coffee, but it's not a place I would recommend if you planned on staying a while. The indoors area was small with pretty awkward seating options. The menu was pretty extensive but they only have one decaf option. The coffee was good, but the rest of the experience was meh. When I walked in there was no one behind the bar and the employee was fairly short and uninviting. I did love all the community engagement options they had as far as binders with resources and local art.

A well coffee shop. Inside is a little tight but their is outdoor seating. Espresso is good and costed over $2 which is well worth it. Service is great and apparel are available for purchase!

Great little coffee shop in the area of Back of the Yards. They have a fantastic hot chocolate and tasty sandwiches. There is also a printer that works via Print With Me in the café. The people working there were very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.

I have visited this coffee shop a handful of times. I make it a point to swing by for my dose of caffeine when I am in the area. I like the set up and the variety of their menu. One of the very few spots of it's type in Chicago south side. I have tried one of their sandwiches, it was tasty and generous in size. I would love to see the shop expand and be able to hold more people during their evening events.

Cute coffee shop, but not many selections. Still the bagels were great tasting and made a great snack. The outside area is a nice touch for those who want to feel the cool breeze too. I picked The horchata coffee brew, but it like cinnamon and lacked the horchata flavor I was looking for. The Dulce de Leche brew tasted sweet and was a nice touch. I might come back soon to try again. My kids enjoyed the outside patio

Their horchata cold brew is amazing and the sandwich I had was also great. The coffee bags are reasonably priced and they have a variety to select from. It’s a minority owned shop that deserves and earns its business!

This place is for sure a hidden gem. Went there with some friends on Saturday morning. The coffee was excellent. The employee working at that time was easy to work with. The xocolate was delicious!! Will definitely go again.

We dropped by for a take out order of: - Xocolatte: I got this iced with almond milk. It's pretty smooth and creamy. It's not really sweet. Although I don't like super sweet coffee, I think it might be better with a sweetener to bring out the chocolate flavors. - horchata: not sure if the barista gave us a vegan one on mistake or forgot to add the dairy but it tasted and looked like sweet cinnamon water. Not necessarily bad, but not what I expected for an Horchata. Service was quick (no one was there) and to the point. I will be returning to give this place another try! Any recommendations, please let me know!

My Americano had great flavor. The barista was very kind and welcoming. I wish there was more indoor seating, but I had no complaints otherwise.

The staff was really friendly. The Cafe was super cute and like a great place to sit and relax. I ordered an iced horchata latte with oat milk and an egg, bacon, and jalapeño kolache-- both delicious. Would definitely come back again to try something else and one of their lonches.

My husband and I were here when the coffeehouse first opened in 2017. Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill. I was excited to try their sticky buns again but unfortunately the pastry menu is pretty much nonexistent. The outdoor patio area that we enjoyed so much is now closed indefinitely and the staff was rude and uninviting. They claimed that they couldn't give us real ceramic cups but then proceeded to give it to another customer. There was no music or ambiance and the girl behind the counter totally forgot my breakfast sandwich in the microwave. I had to remind her 10 minutes later that I never received it. We were there to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of our first date. I'm saddened that our experience was less than stellar.

I had the cafe con olla and smoke salmon bagel. Both were amazing and great flavor.

The drinks were good but it seemed as the girl working the counter was annoyed we were in there. It’s not like we went in super early in the morning or right when they were going to close. It was like 12 pm, she kept making annoyed noises and they were out of a lot of stuff. It was a cute spot though they had cool merch and they have a patio, just don’t make us feel bad for going in. I’ll definitely go back again because maybe she was having a bad day and it was my first time there.

I would love to give this neighborhood spot 5 stars and would have a few years ago. Unfortunately, the consistency and taste of the food and drinks have gone downhill. The employees are unprofessional and seem unhappy to be there. I keep going back hoping the last time was a fluke and I'm wrong everytime. I truly wish things turn around for this place.

Really kind staff and delicious drinks and tamales! I posted up for 6 hours to do work and had a latte, 2 tamales, and a free hibiscus tea! The free tea was because the barista kindly asked me to move seats for a band that was going to be playing some live music, but that then didn't need my spot. I totally didn't mind that happening, but the barista gave me a free tea anyway. End result -- beautiful live music with a refreshing drink :) Outdoor seating is temporarily on hold due to their landlord's request, not sure why.

I highly doubt I will be going back. The coffee and food were good but unfortunately, the guy working there is extremely rude and uninviting. He was there on a Tuesday morning. I didn't catch his name but you figure as a paying customer you deserve a hello but instead he was super dismissive the whole time we were there.

I've been meaning to go to this coffee shop for a while and I finally did. They have delicious snacks and there Chai latte is awesome! Nice little spot. Will definitely be back. They run out of things quick so I'll make sure I'm there early.

I live in the same neighborhood and I work early I always see when they drop off the bread for this place around 5:30 6:00 in the morning, you wouldn't believe how many rats I see run in there. Who knows what type of infestation there is. The bread Guy literally leaves the door open and brings the bread in but sometimes one or two sneak in. Plus this place is next to an alley.

I had a really nice time visiting this coffee shop! The coffee was excellent and the breakfast bagel was good too. The interior seating area is a little small and might have trouble accommodating larger groups, but it looks like they have an outdoor seating area as well (though I did not have a chance to check it out). The staff was friendly, prices were fair. It is definitely a nice place to grab a quick meal or study for a while. I just wish that it wasn’t too far for me to walk to.

My partner and I wanted to support a local coffee shop. We ordered an horchata and dulce de leche cold brew. Both were flavorful and good. Our server, young man was nice and helpful. Unfortunately giving 4 stars because when another employee walked in she wasn’t super welcoming. I understand that she wasn’t serving us. But could have greeted us or responded to our “thank you” at the end as we walked out.

Coffee is great but ordered an avocado toast this morning and it was disappointing. There was barely any avocado added.

Sweet place! The coffee here is delicious and all of the staff are charming and welcoming. There are some very unique drinks here that other places do not have and are worth trying out. I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the family atmosphere. Everything you see inside was in good quality and affordably priced. Highly recommended!

My wife and I love this place. They have excellent service and the staff is super friendly and will answer any questions you might have about their products. They also have the best café de holla in town

They should have more options for younger customers. Most items have caffeine in it or must get a hot chocolate in the middle of summer. However, I myself I enjoy their beverages but I often run into baristas who do not seem to know how to make the items here.

Absolutely love this place. Especially because I don’t have to leave my neighborhood to get boring Starbucks. Everything about this coffee shop is perfect, except the unfriendly and awkward staff. They don’t even bother to greet you. Instead they act like we are bothering them with our orders.

I had moved into this area recently and I’m completely obsessed with coffee. I had been eyeballing this place for some time. Today while doing laundry I desperately need a cup of coffee…so I decided to try this place out. Let me tell you I am not disappointed at all! The young lady at the counter was super sweet and helpful. I had a Latte with Mexican Vanilla flavoring …it was smooth and with just a hint of sweetness which I love. Topped off with an everything bagel with turkey, egg and cheese. I will definitely be hitting up this spot on the regular.
