The coffee here is great, but the service usually leaves something to be desired. Today was especially bad as the barista working, a brunette with long hair and glasses, was particularly rude. My daughter wanted to know the flavors of their cookies which I told her as she could have as a treat after just finishing her first eye exam next door, and she acted as if we disrupted her day by asking. I ordered two flat whites with oat milk and an extra shot, to which she sighed and gave zero eye contact. The guy making the drinks made two lattes instead, which is an honest and easy mistake to make, but when I asked if they were the flat whites I ordered, or lattes, she said "it's the same thing." Which, no, they are not the same thing and considering I just spent $20 on two coffees and a cookie, I would expect the knowledge of the difference to be there. I took the lattes, as they are similar enough that I didn't need for them to be remade, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be going back to this location after the very rude behavior and lack of knowledge of this staff member. La Boulangerie and New Wave Cafe both have great coffee, friendly staff, and are super close.

Most disappointing overpriced $8 latte I’ve ever had. The photo says it all. Preface: I am a barista and know how drinks need to be made, and an iced latte is hard to mess up. But here we are. I came here and ordered a mocha oat milk iced latte. As I was sipping off the top, it was flavorless. Pretty much just espresso and oat milk. I got 5-6 sips in and I couldn’t do it anymore at that point, so I poured out my drink. I find this at the bottom of my cup: Semi-solid mocha mix. The barista could not be bothered to melt the mocha mix with either hot water or espresso? Who wants to drink a latte with thick, chunky flavor at the bottom? No wonder I couldn’t taste the flavor because it was all clumped at the bottom. This was absolutely unacceptable and it literally takes zero effort to melt the chocolate. Will not be back here again. Total waste of money. Walk 5 min down the street and go to NEW WAVE COFFEE.

Had to visit a Chicago location. Intelligentsia is always on my list of coffee shops to keep and eye out for whenever I’m visiting a city. It was nice to visit one in the city where it’s from! Highly recommend a visit.

What can I say - Intelligentsia is one of my favorite coffee roasters out there, and they never seem to disappoint. I had never been to this specific location before in Chicago, but I really enjoyed the stores layout. The coffee was of course amazing, and the baristas here are knowledgeable about what they are doing. Do yourself a favor and get in here!

I will admit. It is on the pricey side. I went with my best friend when we wanted to treat ourselves... and ended up splitting the costs because the smoothie itself was almost 10 dollars. It was delicious though! I love how the baristas are straight in the middle of the shop. I did enjoy my experience, definitely kind staff! Great food. Great coffee!

    - I’ve come here since they’ve opened. Always 5 stars. No longer offering the black cat milkshake but will forever be in my heart. - My new favorite is the Angeleno. Delicious shaken drink and not overly sweet. - SAMOA DONUTS 😫😫😫 are out of this world. - Great bar space to do work and hang your purse under the bar 😌 - Bomb art and very nice coffee making goods. - The baristas are always super patient and kind. Cool cats.

My personal favorite for coffee in the city! Rich, delicious coffee with a great mission as well! They have a yummy rotation of pastries and craft lattes, like the Avena latte topped with cayenne! Great place to sit down and have a cup!

Perhaps the slowest baristas I've ever encountered. A fifteen minute wait for a drink after the order is placed would be understandable IF there weren't two employees standing around doing nothing while one (slowly) does all the drinks, despite the fact that they have a machine with three group heads and two steam wands PLUS a second machine at the other side of the counter. The quality of drinks and service also varies wildly depending on who is working. The location is convenient, but that's really the only thing they have going for them at this point

Local Logan Square coffee shop. Small footprint, but sufficient seating. I had a hot vanilla late. Service was friendly and pretty fast. Espresso was smooth and overall flavor was well balanced. I prefer my lattes on the hotter end of the temperature spectrum so this was a tad cool, but not overly so. Location is also very convenient to the Blue line train station and it is situated among several restaurants and interesting shops

Great coffe place if you like the tasty stuff. If you need coffe to stay awake Starbucks is way better. I love the bar area would definitely come here to do work. The mixed coffe drinks taste good but it's definitely not a taste for everyone.

Coffee done right. Great lates and cappuccinos. One thing to note is that while they use their Black Cat Espresso for their standard offerings, be sure to ask if they have an alternative blend. I tried their single origin and the flavor was more pronounced.

Update: Still my fave spot, a bag of coffee is such a great gift for a loved one. Awesome and knowledgeable staff, with keen attention to detail. I usually get a pour over and hang out for a bit.

Intelligentsia's Logan Square outpost has extremely friendly staff and great coffee. Their latte is the best I've had in Chicago. This is also a great spot to sit and work, with tons of power outlets and a generally quiet atmosphere.

Best cafe in Chicago. Amazing staff — Nate, Yolanda, and Sam are friendly and make a great latte. Atmosphere is always incredible. Intelligentsia is my go-to place to work for the day.

This is my favorite coffee by far! Once I saw I was close to a shop I had to walk to get a cup and some beans!!! I used this coffee at the coffeeshop I worked at many years ago in Peoria.

Over a year ago they were well-staffed, baristas we're knowledgeable, and the customer service was phenomenal. Loved the presentation of pour-overs on a wooden tray with a separate glass of water. Sad that their website said that they had a small run of Geisha at the time, but they were out of it in-store. Impressed with the different roasts that were going to be dialed in that week. Got an insider's look on various coffees that were going to be available in different brew methods.

I don’t go to the cafe often, but I do purchase the beans and brew at home. This is hands down my favorite brand of coffee. I have t had a selection from them that I don’t enjoy. I give this as a gift to fellow coffee drinkers. Beautiful flavor profiles.
