This place would be a 5 star if they didn’t have such pretentious and genuinely rude folks working behind the counter. I was in with my girlfriend this last weekend and a couple came in without masks. They asked if there were extras behind the counter they could have when the man behind the counter blurted “oh my god, you’re not carrying a mask during a global pandemic? How embarrassing for you!” All politics aside, there is no need to be shaming anyone. The way this guy treated these customers was unnecessary, unprofessional, and just plain ridiculous. I will never support an establishment that puts others down and makes them feel small - and I hope nobody else does either. Shame on you, wormhole.

I wanted to like it - the video game theme and decor was cute. I liked the vibe and the layout for hanging around and drinking coffee and/or working. Unfortunately masks did not seem enforced but I assume this was due to one of the workers clearly not wanting to wear a mask. It was not over his nose the entire time we were there and seemed like he had no interest in wearing it or asking others to.

Another Wicker Park neighborhood gem I wanted to come back to and finally did! ☕️ I always loved their honey bear latte so today I tried it iced…🍯🐻☕️ If you do like honey flavored coffee drinks, this should be your choice! Not overpoweringly sweet while the flavor is there. The ambience itself is still unmatched, and I would definitely come here with friends or to personally work on my website.💡(So many inspirations & hard working people everywhere!)

I love stopping by here to get some work done! The ambience is nice and doesn’t get any louder than usual cafe chatter. The decorations are super cool with the DeLorean and pieces from local artists on the walls. There is ample seating and outlets, and the staff are friendly. My only qualm is that the tables seem to often be sticky. My go-to is the ghostly trio and they put a cute little ghost on the cup! It incorporates white miso and black sesame in the latte, and it may sound strange, but it is AMAZING 🤩

Cool Sci fi little spot with interesting coffee specials. I got some... curry one. And surprisingly it was a pretty good combination. I usually get risky with trying funky combos and this one didn't let me down. Recommend as a local or a tourist!

There is a DeLorean on the roof of this coffee shop not just any DeLorean but the back to the future DeLorean I’m not sure what’s going on but this is my new favorite coffee shop.

I love coffee and today I tried for the first time “The Wormhole Coffee”. The atmosphere was great and the decor was unique. It was crowded at first but the line moved quickly. The workers were friendly and worked as a team to get all coffee to its customers. I had the “Vanilla Bean coffee” with oat milk and my daughter tried “The Ghostly Trio”. I enjoyed the taste and the smoothness of the coffee. It has cool creative coffee creations you will have to try. I look forward to visiting again and trying another creative coffee.

Very a unique coffee shop that has a nice atmosphere with an 80/90s vibe. Gets busy but the line moves along fairly quickly. The service and staff were great. I ordered the vanilla bean latte, and it was tasty. It didn't feel like it was too overpriced. Seems very accommodating to people who like working or studying inside of coffee shops.

This was a fantastic find in Lincoln Illinois, and I highly recommend a stop. They roast their own coffee, and make some fantastic tea and other non-coffee drinks as well, but the cortados are top-notch. There is a very healthy amount of seating in various setups, which was really nice. The internet was fast enough to be useful. This is most definitely worth a stop for short break to get a refresher or for several hours to get get some work done.

This was my kind of place! Open, airy, classic nerdy decor. Loved the full size actual movie props. The people were really chill and nice. I loved that the menu had typical items as well as various fun-named latte specials flavored with real ingredients, not artificial syrups. The apple fritter was delicious: decadently rich and moist, and the dough tasted like it was flavored with apple cinnamon spices in addition to the apple chunks and icing. I got the ginger & curry latte (I think called the Mild but Rude) which was maybe a little heavy on the curry, but still unexpectedly tasty. The coffee itself was also a little more expensive than I would have liked for the size of the cup, around $5 for a smallish coffee, plus a $5 pastry and a 20% tip (because please always tip everyone in the service industry, you can afford $2 and they make less than minimum wage). But overall a really nice experience! Seems like a place I would want hang out.

You could come here and stay A WHILE. For working or chatting, the space is ideal. Seating is lil complicated if you're trying to find room for a group of three, as the tables are communal seating style, and this place is definitely popular. The drinks are pretty magical, and the milk is foamed to perfection. Got the Ghostly trio specialty drink and the flavors were spot on, and weren't hyped up to mask poor espresso. With all the Cher pics to boot, they know they can make you a Believer.

It is hard to imagine a better way to start off the morning than with a nice brew. I decided to swing by The Wormhole today, because it was close and it seemed like a fun environment to soak in. I couldn’t have been more right. With its eclectic collection of lunchboxes and a DeLorean in the back (no joke), this little haven of comfort and nostalgia is worth the stop. In terms of drink, I had a Koopa Troopa, which is a peanut butter chocolate latte. Replaced the milk with soy milk to make it vegan! Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Tried the “Cool but Rude” coffee with the hint of ginger. I was skeptical about my order but I wasn’t disappointed! Really great vibe with 80s/90s theme. Loved the Rock cutout poster! Must visit

Excellent coffee with a great vibe for us nostalgia-obsessed 80's-90's kids. Impressed with the Covid layout changes. Great staff, fast service.

i like coffee and will deal with a lot of attitude to get the good stuff. i happen to love the theme and the vibe here is great. maybe it was a bad morning ... the baristas were incredibly unfriendly .. made the entire experience really disappointing.

First time to the WH, very cool atmosphere, staff friendly, some of the best coffee art I have had, they serve Half Wit, on the fence about trying a bag, the Cortado tasted similar to Gas Light, not my fav, sorry to say but that JMO, got it? Worth a visit, even if just for the atmosphere and coffee art.

Delicious iced honey bear latte here! The menu has interesting seasonal items and the interior is pretty spacious. The Apple fritter was awesome as well. This is a good remote work space!

Randomly ended up getting a coffee at this incredible place! Coffee (vanilla bean latte) was just as delicious and hot as I was expecting! Liked the interior design, dark but still tasty! The service 💯!

Wormhole is a charming coffee shop offering a variety of espresso-based drinks and specialty lattes. We tried their regular latte and found it to be quite enjoyable. There is a good amount of seating available, and with the artsy and retro interior, the whole place gives off a warm and inviting ambiance. Note that during peak hours, there might be a wait for your order; when we visited, it took around 10 minutes to receive our drinks.

The Americano was delicious, Teddy’s service was friendly and capable, and the decor was out of this world. If you have any appreciation whatsoever for SF, and variety of great coffee shop music that allows you to think, you’ll love this place!

Good coffee, friendly staff and awesome ambience, perfect recipe for a good cafe. Love the overall vibe of the place. The area is super buay and finding parking is a pain in the....neck. I would love to go back there. It's on "nice to visit" places in Greater Chicago Area

A really good chill hipster coffee place. They do not have a lot of things to eat, but the atmosphere and the coffee are great. Highly recommend trying their espressos!

Around the neighborhood and decided to stop in this local coffee shop. Happy to have their ghostly trio! Rich in flavor with an incredible combination. This place also has a cool collection and a hip stylish decor

Great coffee shop with super cool decor! Came here for coffee, and loved how unique and delicious all of the drinks looked! I ended up getting a ghostly trio latte, (white miso caramel and black sesame) and my friend got a koopa troopa latte (chocolate peanut butter) They had lots of vegan options which was great. Coffee is local and tasty. Make sure you have a mask, they are strictly enforced. There’s plenty of seating inside in my opinion, and the staff was very friendly. -1 star because the coffee was quite pricey, but I’d love to come back and try some other drinks!

-Eclectic decor -The hot chocolate is divine and the perfect ratio of milk and cocoa. -Ghastly Trio is a unique combination of flavors, combining a traditional latte with miso paste and home-ground white sesame. The white miso is a good choice because it is more delicate than dark miso. The flavors of the delicate miso and nutty sesame were perfectly undercut by the the subtle addition of some caramel syrup, lending an understated sweetness in the aftertaste -The barista was efficient yet attentive -Wormhole is a mainstay in what is one of Chicago’s quirkiest and most delightful neighborhoods

I got this amazing coffee from The Wormhole Coffee. I ordered a honey bear latte. The smell is very amazing and they weren't overly sweet, which I enjoyed. Now, I decided to come here every now and then while doing my work. The staff are working with a smile and are very friendly. The place is very clean and cozy. I am definitely recommending The Wormhole Coffee to my friends and family. Thank you very much for your excellent service. Have a great coffee.

Try their signature coffee drinks - they are 7 at the moment, depends on the season. Movie themed 80s/90s interior, most tables occupied by laptops and people using it as a coworking space.

They always have some fun latte options, so I'm usually happy. Cortado was great, too. Service was pleasant and y'all get an A+ for Nic Cage decor.

This place was cool! Mega nerd culture and friendly to whoever walks through. I get the audience they are seeking and the coffee was great! Might I suggest the bathrooms be labeled as "bathroom" and the "feminine hygiene products" by the toilet be labeled as "personal care products"? Please remain consistent with your audience!

I was told to come here by a friend, and I am very glad I did! I absolutely adore the whole aesthetic of the place, a vintage look that really sets the atmosphere! Great service, the staff were lovely and while the menu had some high prices- it was worth it for the experience. I would definitely come here again to enjoy the layout and the area surrounding this adorable cafe. If you are out exploring Wicker Park, stop by and give them some support!

Wormhole works hard at getting some inventive drinks on their menu. The drinks are mixed but over all pretty good. I'd certainly go back to try more of their drinks. The atmosphere there is cool too with vintage toys and a full sized DeLorean making it a fun place to sit and have coffee!

Great customer service. Perfect coffee grind and amazing cookie texture. The vibe is chill, with hip soundtracks. A great place to come and have a lunch date or do work. Ample seating was available.

Came in for the first time since I live near by and saw they had good coffee and other options. We came inside and there was no indoor seating so we stood and waited to order while the staff was having a conversation, when they were done that's when we were taken care of. The decor is nice and the latte was OK, perhaps they were in a hurry to get back to their conversation. There is paid parking on the street. I'll probably stop by the order Wormhole that's further away, but will give it a shot.
