This café is lovely. Stop by almost every week at least once for a coffee. It has a friendly atmosphere and good drinks. The environment is conducive to both studying or meeting up with friends for coffee and a chat. I regularly order the Chicago Fog latte or a latte with the maple sage syrup. There are also several food items for sale at this café I really enjoy the massive Sequoia cookies and the garden style bagels. I find that it is worth mentioning that as this café closes at 3pm they stop serving bagels and sandwiches an hour before closing time so it is best to plan accordingly.

Fantastic coffee, drool worthy pastries, and swoon worthy savouries. And how dare they have an amazing staff on top of all this incredibleness?? Can I give 10 stars?

Love this cafe. Pumpkin spice latte (half sweet) is one of the best I’ve had - not too sweet, full of deep rich flavor. Staff is always very friendly too!

**Rivers and Roads Cafe** * * * I'm so glad I found this gem of a cafe! The coffee is amazing, the pasties are delicious, and the sandwiches are unique and flavorful. The staff is warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. I love that the cafe is decorated in a hiking-themed style, which reminds me of my favorite national parks. I was especially impressed by the cafe's environmental consciousness. They use compostable straws and utensils, and they have a recycling program. I also appreciate that they offer a variety of vegan and gluten-free options. If you're looking for a great cup of coffee and a delicious bite to eat, I highly recommend Rivers and Roads Cafe. You won't be disappointed! **Pros:** * Amazing coffee * Delicious pasties * Unique and flavorful sandwiches * Warm and friendly staff * Cozy and inviting atmosphere * Hiking-themed decor * Environmentally conscious * Variety of vegan and gluten-free options **Cons:** * Can get busy during peak hours **Overall:** I highly recommend Rivers and Roads Cafe to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee and a delicious bite to eat. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food is delicious. I especially appreciate the cafe's environmental consciousness. If you're in the Edgewater area, be sure to check it out!

Loved this coffee shop! The vibes were great and there were so many food and drink selections. I love that they do a drink of the month menu, we tried two from it and both were phenomenal. We also had a pastry and banana bread, both were super yummy. The staff were kind and the space was clean, will definitely return.

Fun themed cafe with some tasty drinks! I really liked the peppermint mocha that I got. The theming is neat but I definitely think there could be a lot more posters/props. The merchandise selection is cool too. I'll definitely be going back for the drinks - but Rivers & Roads, if you see this, add even more stuff to go along with the national parks vibe!

This cafe is lovely. It reminds me of going to summer camp with the rustic, cozy decor. Lately I’ve been trying their Fall seasonal drinks and the pumpkin latte ACTUALLY TASTES LIKE PUMPKIN! 🤩. They also have delicious house made bagels and scones. I especially enjoy the chai walnut one. Rivers and Roads has quickly become one of my favorite cafes. If you want interesting coffee drinks that are flavorful but not too sweet, you’ll love Rivers and Roads.

I love this coffee house. The ambiance for working is spot on, friendly service (even dog friendly!) And they serve an oat milk cappuccino to die for. I'm here 4-6 times a week and Mia loves it!

Excellent drinks, consistent quality, great service. Skip Starbucks and come here! Traveling from out of state and found this gem close to our Airbnb. We love trying new coffee shops and this was no exception. Great little shop with a bright, friendly vibe. The staff was friendly, helpful and the shop was very clean. Best of all, our drinks were consistently prepared several days in a row.

Ordered a large, plain latte with almond milk -- but they don't have almond milk (which is totally fine), so their macadamia milk was suggested to me instead! THIS IS THE BEST LATTE I HAVE EVER TASTED! There's a subtle sweetness and it's very smooth. 10/10, would recommend. Try the macadamia milk with your latte!

I’m generally a pumpkin-flavored anything fan, but their pumpkin pie latte takes things to a totally different level... Ungodly good. All the pastries I’ve tried have been top notch, and they were super nice about checking a recipe for almonds for me (allergic). My new go-to on days I’m working in Rogers Park!

Such a comforting place with creative lattes and nice people. It reminds me of Minnesota, in the best way! With a dog friendly patio, WiFi, and vegetarian breakfast options, I’m all set. Highly recommended.

This is a great spot with solid coffee drinks, yummy treats, and good vibes. (Do NOT miss out on the Bake Me Wild cookies!) I stopped in here quickly one morning before work, but after seeing all the table space and outlets, I definitely plan to come back here soon with my laptop!

great local spot! they use counter culture and serve house made pastries. Baristas are very friendly. I only take away a star because their pricing is a little out of touch considering they cater to a student population, a flavored iced latte will run you 7-9 dollars and they have really good bagel sandwiches but they run 11-15 from what I recall. But they are local so your pennies are going back into the community :)

look: if you want yummy coffee and great baked goods (especially the best half-pound seasonally-themed cookies ever baked), you should come here. During the week, I feel like I live here (working from "home"), and during the weekend, my toddler likes to come with me to say hi to her people (aka the staff). love the ambiance, love the people, love the coffee.

I walk a dog in the neighborhood. This cafe is super dog friendly, with treats for them, a walk-up window, and super friendly staff! They create multiple outdoor seating options for the furry friends to enjoy. The food and drinks are wonderful. Take home any of the drink products as well, there are so many to choose from. The rebrand is adorable. We love hiking around the many Chicago parks. The Rivers and Roads Chicago shop is going to be around a longtime.

Love this place. They have consistently good service, good coffee, and good vibes. There was a change in ownership over the last year or so, and it shows - the new management is delightful, the staff is friendly, there is a 'dog door' so coffee goers with dogs can wait outside and still get their coffee and a whip-cream pup cup, and there are delicious seasonal coffees (accompanied by adorable holiday decorations). This is one of those staple coffee shops in the community, the preferred 'third space' for the neighbors.

What a sweet couple who run this place now. And they make a very tasty latte! Great atmosphere. Friendly service. I'll be back for sure!

I got the seasonal pumpkin pie latte iced with macadamia milk and it was delish! It wasn’t sweet which I like. Definitely will be back! That banana bread looked AMAZING.

Visiting the campus for a conference and stumbled upon this jewel while walking around the area. Wonderful ambiance. Nice tables outside. Very tasty latte and delicious quiche. A little pricey - therefore the 4 stars. Yet, next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.

Enjoyed a nice chai here with a friend. She ordered the hot chocolate since she is not a coffee drinker. The chai was lovely but it should be noted that both the chai and the chocolate were not sweet. Which was fine with us, but others might wish the drinks were a little sweeter. I look forward to returning and trying more of their drinks, like their drip coffee.
