Passed by this place on my way to another coffee shop actually and the vibes attracted me. I got my standard matcha, lightly sweetened which they made perfectly. ✨ most of the staff are Black which always makes me feel amazing and the place is ran efficiently and with good hospitality. I have definitely found me a gem for when I’m in town. I didn’t try any of the food but that is what a lot of people if not everyone who came in got. I love the layout and it’s spacious yet communal. Looking forward to getting connected to this coffee shop more 🥰

I will start by stating I didn't realize this was a local chain, but I can say the pastries are not made at this location although they are still fresh. I will highlight the orders are not taken at the same area as the pastries so you better know the exact name of what you want before you get up there. Otherwise you'll make a mistake like me and have to go back to order the actually cookie that was desired. Zarianna the cashier was wonderful and despite me having to go up twice helped me both times with a smile. For food I got the: Decorative Latte Cookie, Confetti Cookie, and the Pumpkin Scone. The scone was my amazing, the icing was delicious. The other cookies were not my jam, but if you like the "fake" cake icing you'll love the confetti cookie. If you like the hard fondant icing then you would like the latte cookie. Both cookies are made well and soft and not dry. I got a simple mocha and a latte. The mocha was good, not the best, but still not terrible. The latte was similar. Overall this seems like a better place to grab a lunch than just a coffee, but still a unique experience.

Super lovely bakery!! I love my glitter latte, protein bowl and the rainbow cake. The weather was great so we sat outside. This place made my day :). Only downside is it is close to the subway, the train noise is loud.

In Chicago for a few days and was looking for a good bakery. This is not it. Had high hopes because it is a cute location and everything looked good. We ordered the pumpkin chocolate croissant, chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll cronut. The pastries were actually really dry. Crazy how pastries with so much butter could be dry. The cronut has very little cinnamon roll filling. The half of the chocolate croissant that actually had filling was good. If you’re expecting a gourmet type bakery, this isn’t for you.

The space is large which is nice. There are 2 gender neutral bathrooms which I appreciate. The drip coffee is self serve and has several milk options. We liked all of the pastries. Sweet and savory options were good. Rainbow cake had fun glitter. Green juice was delicious and decorated with fresh fruits which made it look beautiful. The protein breakfast bowl was delicious and filling.

Cute bakery franchise located right on Wabash next to the L line. A great place to get work done during the day, grab a meal with friends, or come by yourself and treat yourself to some yummy pasteurized or desserts. Outdoor seating is available making this place pet friendly (the water and treat bowl outside signals that as well). The bakery is totally cashless as well. Overall I enjoyed my time at Goddess and the Baker. Came on a Tuesday afternoon craving brunch and thankfully brunch is served all day. I got the avocado toast with a scrambled egg on top and it was divine. So tasty and flavorful. I of course had to get something sweet and the cashier suggested I try the rainbow cake and boy am I glad I did. So yummy, moist, and flavorful that I ate the whole slice by myself! Might be my new favorite cafe to work and eat at!

I've been savoring breakfast delights at The Goddess and the Baker in Chicago for the past couple of days, and each experience has been nothing short of amazing. From the Iron Man scrambled Egg Breakfast to the flavorful Chicken Tinga and the array of healthy options, every dish has exceeded expectations. What truly stands out is the attention to detail, including the choice of Macadamia milk and oat milk for coffee. The unique and delightful twist in coffee options adds an extra layer to the overall experience. The coffee itself is exceptional, complementing the diverse menu perfectly. In every visit, The Goddess and the Baker has consistently delivered excellence—from the food variety to the quality of service. It's a place where flavors come alive, and the commitment to offering both delicious and health-conscious options is commendable. I wholeheartedly give them a well-deserved five-star rating for creating a breakfast haven that excels in taste, innovation, and overall dining pleasure.

Goddess and the Baker is an absolute delight! The food is fantastic, bursting with flavor, and the pastries are heavenly. I had the Sunrise Burrito, and it left me wanting more. From flaky croissants to melt-in-your-mouth tarts, they have something for every sweet tooth. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a top-notch experience. It's a must-visit place that won't disappoint!

I love this place. It's my go-to coffee/breakfast place before I go to work! Their seasonal coffees are definitely worth trying! And their coffee muffin is so good and sweet, perfect with the coffee!

Lovely little bakery/cafe Right next to an L stop. Friendly service. Amazing bakery counter with cookies, a couple of cake choices, and a few croissant choices. I had a sunrise burrito that was perfectly fine and a strawberry Nutella steamer. It took me immediately back to the smell of childhood and strawberry shortcake scratch and sniff stickers. You might love it. For me it was too sweet and artificial strawberry flavoring isn’t for me.

Horrible, rude, and definitely inattentive staff. With the amount of money we spent I would expect simple pleasantry. The establishment is very small, clearly because it's downtown and it makes for some uncomfortable standing and sitting arrangements. Store was cute. Food and pastries amazing but because of the service I will never return!

Absolutely loved this cafe! The aesthetics and selection were so fun! And to top it off, the food and drinks were great! I love that this location is in front of the train tracks as I thoroughly enjoyed watching them run by at the window seat. The breakfast was good and it came out so quickly! You get a table tracker with your order and a waiter does bring the food out to you even if you sit at their tables outdoors. The strawberry matcha latte was very good and so was the glitter latte which was so sparkly and fun! Solid avocado toast as well and generous with the salmon on their omelette. Would definitely recommend this for a cute and high value cafe in the city!

Tasty food. Tried the Mediterranean bowl, it’s an absolute delight. Burrito is also delicious. Best Flat White in Chicago downtown (really!) Croissants were a little disappointing. Service could be more friendly. Gets very busy in the mornings, specially during long weekends (holidays) since downtown Chicago does not offer a lot of good options of great, delicious and healthy brunch. Worth a visit though.

This is the absolute BEST breakfast/pastry shop I have ever eaten in! I cannot express the magnitude of deliciousness of everything we ate there. The breakfast sandwiches were exquisite. The chocolate croissants were better than any I have ever eaten—including in Paris. It was brilliantly run, because in spite of the fact that it was very busy (a Saturday morning), the staff took our order immediately upon arrival and then brought our order out as soon as it was ready. They had a lot of staff so the wait wasn’t long. I’m going again tomorrow!

Overpriced but otherwise a great option of lunch, coffee, and baked goods! They have a wide selection of healthier breakfast/lunch options like sandwiches, oatmeal, açaí bowls, etc. The food is great quality but portions are smaller when compared to pricing. Drink options are also great! I'm a matcha gal and they have a good matcha option!

Very busy bakery. Thought the wait was going to be long, but it really wasn’t. However, we made 3 different orders which confused the staff and we had to claim a missing item. Many delicious looking options to chose from. I give them 10/10 for details. The almond butter croissant was perfection. Their cookies are also good - crunchy on the outside, and soft in the inside, with perfect amount of chocolate chips. My brother had the cinnamon cruffin and and the morning sandwich and finished both quickly. The juices were good but nothing unique or exciting. I wish I would have ordered a coffee instead. Prices are reasonable. No seating available to sit down and eat (it was around 10-11am). You must try it out for yourself.

I’ve been wanting to try different places to eat while in Chicago and honestly, I keep finding myself wanting to come back to the Goddess. This place is amazing. The food and the drinks are hand crafted, incredibly delicious. I could add 78+ adjectives. Words are simply not enough to describe them. There’s so many great choices. The staff is very friendly and kind. I was talking to Sandra, an employee at Goddess, about what I should get..She was so sweet and asked me about the things I would like, my favorite flavors, etc. She gave me a detailed description of the turkey bacon sandwich and an apple oats latte; absolutely delectable. Thank you so much! I’ll be returning everyday for the rest of my trip.

Came in for breakfast, good choice of proteins and more healthy choices available, as well as usual pastry. Food was great, and coffee also, can get a bit crowded during lunch time. Definitely one of the good choices. If you plan to order take out it is better to do it with an app, rewards program available and the social media is being stimulated, there are posters inside for more info. Outside sitting is available.

If you're looking for a good cup of soup, espresso, pastries or bacon you found it! Skip the sandwiches they're bland and salad because the greens aren't always fresh. They definitely have the best soup in town! I particularly like the vegan soup, gumbolaya, and the chicken tortilla. It's a very cute and cozy cafe with indoor and patio seating. This is a great place for a pick up order because they're so busy you'll rarely find a seat and quite often the line wraps around to the entrance. If you prefer to drink coffee once a day and not need another pick me up, give their Chagaccino a try it'll keep you energized all day long. If you place an order directly it'll save you some money rather than using a theirs party app to order.

Cute place to grab elevated breakfast, lunch, and brunch options. The portions are pretty average but the quality and taste of the sandwiches, croissants, and tortas seem pretty good! The drinks are very pretty and honestly a pretty large size for what you’re paying. Refreshing and easy place for a quick meal or to catchup with friends. Also, love the atmosphere indoor as well as the outdoor seating! Definitely recommend it as a nice weekend brunch/pick me up!

The quality of the food and beverages match the pictures. Take a look and you will have a feel for what this place really is. Close to perfection! Pastries, sandwiches, hot beverages were all delicious and super fresh. Great menu variety. Cozy and welcoming ambience despite being busy for the entire hour we were there. Service was impeccable. I'd only suggest a better orientation of the ordering line. It was a bit confusing for those waiting to order and those waiting for their order. But let me clarify that this is just a suggestion and by no means a complaint. Our experience was close to magical and I can't wait to go back next time we are in Chicago.

The food and drink was delicious, but the seating situation is a challenge. Our timing may have just been bad, but it was absolutely jam packed and we couldn't find a place to sit until after after we had gotten our food. We had a little corner of the communal, but I had to stand while I tried to eat while the other three in my group sat crowded around the end. The breakfast sandwich was amazing, and I was really stoked to see true European sipping chocolate. I don't do coffee, so I appreciate a good hot chocolate on a cold, rainy day and it didn't disappoint. Reminded me of the hot chocolate I got in Paris many years ago. My wife loved her coffee, and we actually bought one of their mugs to go with the espresso machine I got her for Christmas and she's commented on how much she likes using it. At another, less crowded, time I could see this as a being an awesome place to have a nice relaxing breakfast with a good drink. Definitely something I'd recommend for people to try.

This is such a cute cafe, it's usually fairly busy but it's not super difficult to find seating. There are a lot of sweet treat options and more to eat. I got the bagel and schmere as well a chocolate tart and loved both!

I had breakfast here twice this week. I loved the bagel with tomato and cucumber and onion. They were slightly marinated in a vinaigrette which was so tasty. Good coffee. I also bought such a cute decorated cookie for a coworker. Such a lovely place. The bakery items are so cute and I’d love to try their cakes in the future.

Great coffee, really good breakfast sandwiches. Plenty of seating but I got mine to-go. Be prepared for a wait even right after they open, this location is extremely popular.

  • 5/5 Joe C. 2 years ago on Google
Nice iced lattes and they offer several different ways to customize them. Edible glitter? Check. CBD? Check. For food they have many choices of sweets that are grab and go but they also have hot breakfast. You can grab a table first and then order online with the QR code.

This place has a line out the door but it was so fast! We got right in and made the adult choice to start with breakfast dessert, followed by a savory flavorful omelet. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Excellent small lunch, coffee, bakery find on my latest visit to Chicago. It gets pretty busy so order in the app if you can and use the time to scope out a place to sit. Also, the app gifts you $5 using the code “firsttime” on the first order. It closes at 4 most days so plan accordingly.

It's one of the best breakfast spots, must try if you're in Chicago!! I had the sunrise burrito, croissant, golden glitter latte and tropical sunset cake!! Everything was delicious, service is great despite being busy. Will definitely come back!!

Super cool spot! Amazing atmosphere and great food and drink. The avocado toast is awesome as is the breve latte I got. Great healthy breakfast option in Chicago. A must! The staff is incredibly hard working and accommodating. Thank you! Cant wait to come back!

Dined in with my husband, our three children, and our grandmother. The cashier and other staff were polite and helpful. Not a lot of seating (communal), but fortunately the other guests were accommodating and we were able to move about and make due to sit close together. Food was served hot. We ordered the turkey bacon croissants, a muffin, plain croissant, hot chocolates, and a latte. It was all delicious. We've visited another location so I knew the food would be good. Glad to know it's consistent. This location is a bit noisy as it's situated right under the rail line, but it's fun to watch the trains pass over. Would stop again if we're ever in the area.

Great small place with salads, sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, and other drinks. Food excellent, fresh, homemade with interesting ingredients. Only negative is it can get crowded and can be hard to find seats to dine in. That's because its so darn good...update..there is bigger location on East Grand with larger seating areas!! Nice

My first time visiting this place, and everything was amazing from the coffee to the food it was all really good. They have many different choices including many different sweet treats. I ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk which was really good and for food we ordered an Acai bowl and the morning sandwich on an everything bagel which was ABSOLUTELY amazing!! This place is super cute and for sure a must try!

Our little group came together and enjoyed breakfast at this gem. We went with the Avocado Toast, Turkey Bacon & Egg Croissant, and the Sunrise Burrito paired with a traditional cappuccino, cold brew, and earl grey tea. Everything was superb! We'll be back!

I had the best experience! I give this 10/10, my turkey bacon croissant was perfect, my chai tea latte was the best I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place. And good customer service, will definitely be back

Great drinks and food!! As a person terrified of doing the wrong thing in public at all times I love the explicit instructions; order at the counter, take the tracker, and sit down. The food will come to you. They bus the dishes (I couldn't find where to put them and was told to leave them, which feels weird in a cafe, but hey).

  • 5/5 Altinay C. 1 year ago on Google
I had the coconut chai espresso drink of the week and it was delicious! I got it custom made to be decaf and with oat milk. It was so good I went back the next day and ordered it again. The chocolate chip cookie is soft and chewy. Perfect afternoon treat. The staff was also very nice.

SO glad I went into this amazing bakery! Chagaccino and 6-minute egg were the perfect lil breakfast, and my friend loved her caprese omelette. Liked it so much may even return for lunch!!

When I visited I ordered a cappuccino and a cortado. Both were pretty good after sugar was added. The atmosphere is cizy....maybe a LITTTLE too cozy. The seating by the window has more chairs than nessisary. But there is a beautiful view of the buildings and purple and brown line trains passing by. There is also outside seating available The service was more than decent. One thing that I did find strange was the person giving me my order didn't think it was necessary to pick up my buzzer after I received my stuff. They did the same thing to the party of 3 next to me. So we were stuck with all these buzzers at the table. So just make sure to give them the buzzers lol All in all, I would say it's a pretty great little chicy place to take a date. The little sugar cubes they have available at the counter are super cute. Definitely would go back.

The Leo Omelette with smoked salmon was incredible!!! This place doesn’t have a ton of room inside but don’t let that keep you from going in if it’s busy. The cashiers take the orders super fast. You might have to wait a bit for a table. The Leo Omelette on the everything bagel was perfect. The salmon was flavorful but not overpowering and the caramelized onions were the perfect compliment. The coffee was full-bodied and very tasty. They have a great selection of pastries. This is a place you have to try for breakfast or brunch. Days later and I am still thinking about the Leo Omelette.
