Cute little neighborhood cafe with only outdoor seating available. Cafe serving great soups + salads, sandwiches, pastries, and all day breakfast options. The food was okay, nothing special. A great place to grab coffee with a friend if you live nearby in the neighborhood but I wouldn’t seek this place out.

Went here for some afternoon coffee and picked up a slice of banana bread as well. I got a banana bread latte and a slice of banana bread. The banana bread latte I couldn't really taste the banana bread in the latte but the actual banana bread was delicious. The latte tasted more like just like a latte with like a little bit of cinnamon taste I guess I was expecting more of a banana bread taste but nonetheless it was good. The staff was really friendly and helpful when it came to the menu. I'll be sure to swing by again and have some more coffee before I leave. Update- my wife and I came back for breakfast this morning and it was amazing. I had the biscuits and gravy and she had the seasonal grits and both were really really good. Also I found out that the banana bread latte that I had the day before is actually made by taking some of the banana bread ends and instead of using syrups which makes me feel way better about the latte I had and changes the whole review that I wrote so I'm going to upgrade this to a five star. The staff that worked yesterday was also there today and were absolutely amazing again so nice kind everything you would want when you go to a restaurant or coffee shop and definitely will be going back again before I leave Chicago.

Lovely dining experience on their patio. Burger was surprisingly good(could have used a tiny more seasoning in meat). Side salad was good. Huge variety of beer for lunch. Overall maybe a bit pricey for what you get but quality and setting are there.

It's always been on my too do list. I'm glad I came. I don't regret it. Good food and friendly vibes. Everyone was sitting outside on the patio....so I don't know if the inside is only open on certain days and hours.

The patio is quite nice, and I’m sure is a very nice place to sit under nice conditions. When we arrived they were fighting against the rain elements, so the ordering process was inside and some pickup inside and some outside which created confusion. The classic breakfast with bacon was good but the breakfast as a whole party came out quite separate (15min apart from 1 drink to the next drink / breakfast). Last opportunity is when a different groups order came out the young lady dropped one of the boxes and it rolled away. Picked up by a patron is was stacked back in the food pile and given to the customer. Probably should have been a new rush on that. May have just been the day but certainly some opportunities for improvement.

This place is very interesting, you can only check the menu and order trough your phone. I ordered the egg sandwich and it was good(a little salty) I also got the matcha and it was flavorful without it being too sweet.

Spoke & bird is a really cute and cozy neighborhood spot. The back patio is so gorgeous especially this time of year. The coffee is pretty good and so is the food. I also love their location. Not only is it close to everything in South Loop, it’s located right by a really cute park. Love going here!

Beautiful cafe with good ambience, friendly staff and good coffee. I wish customers would receive real mugs for dine-in. All drinks are served in single-use plastic cups. The amounts of unnecessary waste produced hurts to see.

Love this spot, cute little courtyard with amazing food and drinks. Their breakfast BLT is one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches of all time. The mixed greens they serve with it always have a great dressing too. And I always look forward to their lavender lemonade every summer. My favorite way to start the day!! Their baked goods are all amazing too.

Decent cafe in the park. Expect to order and wait outside. Their restrooms are around the corner in the other main building, and definitely aren't enough for the amount of seating they have. We came in the afternoon when there weren't many people and we're still waiting in line. I also thought the outside table setup was a bit unfortunate when they had a normal inside cafe. I'm guessing that that was COVID reasoning, but when everywhere else allows people inside it felt a bit out of place. I wasn't a huge fan of their mimosa, but their marg was good.

Perfect spot to go for a grab and go breakfast and coffee or a sit down. The coffee was delicious, one of the best pumpkin lattes I’ve ever had. The bakery included a few vegan options, and the outdoor patio was spacious and welcoming. Very friendly atmosphere and staff.

I am was visiting Chicago for a few days and staying at the Marriot Marquis. This was the PERFECT place. It was walking distance from the hotel and a super cute outdoor patio with fall trees, families, a few people working and some young adults like myself. I brought my computer and a book and I wish I could have stayed here the whole day. I got a latte with an extra shot (they only do 2 shots at a time so they had to charge me for 4 shots total thought I only wanted 3) and the most amazing almond croissant I’ve ever had. The coffee was okay but the croissant was 100/10.

Solid spot to sit back and relax with friends/family in their awesome patio. If patio is full grab something to eat and drink and head over to the women’s park right next door or take a stroll down Historical prairie Avenue. Baked goods are awesome, I am into the morning bun these days otherwise my go to is the Egg sandwich, I have tried it all and all of it very good. Staff is friendly and helpful, they have their own bakery in Pilsen

Walked here from nearby hotel, easy walk and went through a nice park that this outdoor eatery is nice to. Weather was nice and made the experience great. I had their egg sandwich and was quite surprised with how much I liked it, I guess a farm to table should be able to elevate simple ingredients.

Perfect spot for a quick bite or to hang out (both indoor and outdoor spaces). The breakfast sandwich and the mushroom melt are really good. Plus, you get to see all the cute doggos so you get 'puppy therapy' 😍🐕

Super chill breakfast spot. Great music and street views. Had the Challah French Toast and Banana Bread Latte, and it was amazing. Ordering is accomplished on your phone, so there's not a lot of interaction with staff... but they were very nice and aware of the orders.

Lovely cafe and coffee shop with unique and delicious menu. The soup and grilled cheese are great! They have amazing seasonal drinks and seating indoors and outdoors. There is WiFi, a decent amount of outlets and their selection of music in the cafe is eclectic and a mix at a volume loud of enough to enjoy but not be distracting. And the area around the cafe is gorgeous, walkable, and inviting.

Wonderful service- very friendly. They were extremely busy and the app had gone down so the server came to our table and took the order. Per friendly and patio dining were both pluses. Food was tasty. I'll likely return when in the area.

Favorite brunch spot with my mom! They have an indoor and outdoor seating area. When outdoor seating is open its great for those summer days, plus everyone brings their dogs! Indoor seating has a very nice atmosphere, and the water/utensils station is very convenient.

Delicious food at a local eatery. There is a longer than normal wait due to popularity, but we received our food faster than they estimated. The food was fresh & delish. The outdoor seating is charming. The indoor seating has a trendy, chill cafe vibe. There are outlets unobtrusively placed around the indoor seating for charging laptops or phones for a working brunch. We would eat here again. You can order from your phone or the pass thru window.

My experience at Spoke & Bird Cafe was refreshing after poor culinary experiences elsewhere recently. The cafe was set on a corner and had large open windows facing both streets. The ambience was appropriate for the experience, defined by modern, but relaxed finishes and decor. The menu was appropriately sized for the business model with diverse options, but not so many that the guest is overwhelmed or service is bogged down. Breakfast options are served until 5 pm, but they also have lunch/dinner options. I would suggest they add another option or two for sides - perhaps of the house-made variety. The service is friendly and casual, but again, appropriate for the model. You can order at the counter or have a seat and order by QR code (though the latter option wasn't obvious until I sat down). I ordered the smash burger with chips and a Mexican coke. The smash burger was perfect - fresh ingredients, an incredibly tasty and unique sauce, and prepared well. The chips were not made in house, but completed the meal. They have a variety of beverage options including beer, wine, and coffee/espresso beverages - including coffee based "cocktails." I finished my experience with a sun-dried, light roast, Ethiopian coffee from Counter Culture that was quite pleasant. As an afterthought, the owner or manager doesn't take criticism well as is evident in his replies to reviews on this platform. I find professionalism to be lacking in that vein, but have not let that affect the review of my experience.

The best biscuits and gravy, tasty bacon, pretty fast. These folks adapted to the rain. Beautiful outdoor seating.

We were in the area for the Chicago Marathon weekend. This place was packed and it took about 45 min to get food (as the staff projected). Staff was kind and responsive. Drinks came out quick. When the food came it was hot and delicious. Downside is the amount of bees in the outdoor area. So "bee" mindful of that 😅 and cover any sodas or fruit drinks to deter the bees while you wait. Ordered a bag of bagels here too. Was nice to have that bakery as an option as well.

Excellent coffee and pastry. Also their sandwiches are very too. I love the location too. Usually we pick up coffees and pastries and go to a small garden right next to it.

I absolutely love this place. Amazing coffee shop and the back patio is one of the nicest I’ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Beyond the Coffee and the ambience, the food is excellent as well! Easily my favorite Coffee shop downtown. Keep up the great work!

One of our few "must visit" places when in Chicago. Always awesome coffee, fast and friendly service. Egg nog latte was great, just enough flavor and I could still taste the coffee. Wish we could've eaten there this morning, but it's a little cold for outdoor dining, but we picked up some coffee and baked goods for the train ride home. Hoping to be back when the weather is better.
