Lovely coffee shop with Turkish influence. They make pistachio milk and have a pistachio rose latte that looked heavenly. For pastries, I went for the traditional baklava but if you’re feeling wild, then there’s a baklava carrot cake option for a unique twist. I recommend hanging out a little bit because the vibes, music and decor are pleasingly cozy. It’s also across the street from the (Tuesday AM and Thursday PM) Lincoln Square Farmer’s Market. You can order via the Toast app if you’re in a hurry. There’s a second Bucktown location if that’s closer.

Highly Recommend: great coffee, atmosphere and everything. Pretty big menu for a coffee shop, with quite a few bakery items. Can be crowded on Saturday mornings/lunch

Quality hot chocolate. A touch dark. But rich. Good whipped cream. Baklava is teensy. It's just ok. Not dry though. Less than standard ultra sweetness for baklava.

I had the golden mylk latte. The flavors didn’t shine through for me but it looked nice. I also got the Teff almond butter cookie. The texture was strange. Crumbly. So I ended up dissolving it in my latte and that was actually great! The sandwich was fine. Very filling. The atmosphere was cozy and there is a lot going on. A lot to look at. Personally a bit overwhelming for my first visit but overall it was a good experience. I really like the focus on ingredients & sustainability. Keep up the good work!

Oromo serves exceptional Turkish coffee with a delightful nutty flavor and an extensive range of additional flavor options! They also offer delicious Turkish Delight. The cozy ambiance and spacious seating here make it a great spot for studying or coffee chats.

Really unique Turkish coffee shop and everything is good! They even make the pistachio milk in house and all food we tried was very fresh. Nice service 👍. Great spot!

Quaint and friendly Turkish coffee shop in Lincoln Square with delicious pastries and breakfast offerings. They have a large selection of Turkish coffees and even 5+ flavor of Turkish delights available to accompany it. For the digital nomads there are about 10 spots to sit with outlets. Staff was very friendly and the Wi-Fi password summed up the vibe pretty well: “welcome home”

I love this place so much, since the first time that I was there, usually I don't visit the same coffe so often due to Chicago having so many coffe shops to explore, but this one just captivates me. I love the decoration, music and nice customer service. My favorite beverage is tumeric ginger late

I haven’t been to Lincoln Square in some time and did a quick search for a cafe and ended up at Oromo. Great find! I settled in for a while to do some work, and it was a really warm and pleasant atmosphere. The design is lovely, the staff is friendly and welcoming. The cafe and pastries are excellent. I happened to leave my favorite water bottle there and realized it later. I called back and yep, they’d found it, took down my info, and said they’d hold onto it for me. Like a dummy I forgot about it for several weeks. I stopped in, fully expecting it to no longer be there, but when I sheepishly asked about the water bottle I left over a month ago, the barista noted with a smile, “Yep, the green water bottle. We still have it!” I love the story of the owner starting his own business after deciding pre-pharmacy school wasn’t what he wanted to devote his life to. Instead, he followed his passion for coffee and community and started his own business, a unique and flavorful take on the traditional Chicago coffee shop. I also love and applaud Oromo’s ethics: “At OROMO CAFE the purity of our ingredients and vitality of our customers is our top priority. Creativity. innovation, and originality are but a few words that characterize our craft lattes. We use house-made nut milks and nutrient-dense confections that are free of refined sugar, dairy, eggs, and gluten, as we aspire to support and nurture the health of your mind and body in new and exciting ways. With respect to ethically harvested organic ingredients and sustainable agriculture, we strongly advocate an environmentally friendly business model that preserves our Earth’s beauty and naturai resources. Our creations are prepared with love and passion for uniqueness, and inspired from an integration of globally diverse herbs, spices, and flavors. Bringing to our Earths complexity, we transcend the aditional coffee experience to bring CULTURE-CONSCIOUS COFFEE.” Love this place! ps-oh! and great music too! and (big deal for me): they allow well-behaved canine friends.

Been here several times and usually liked it fine, it’s a bit overpriced but whatever. Today it took them 42 minutes to get us 2 croissants after we had to remind them two times. At $17 for the total order and 4 people behind the counter I would think they would do a better job.

Oromo Cafe is a touch of modern amongst the Turkish pot, kettle, and cup lined walls. Hazelnut brownie - shareable dessert, since one bite provides full hardiness of the dark chocolate fudgey flavor. Teff-almond butter cookie - not dry but can taste the teff flour giving it a powdery velvety taste full of almond. Oatmeal cranberry walnut cookie- maplely, coconuty, moist, and nutty - like a tasty protein cookie yet not overly sweet. Topping is decadent enough to tie the whole cookie together. Baklava with chocolate - First delightful bite is an ahhh moment. Well balanced chocolate and oil is mixed to perfection. Sahlep w/cinnamon - distinctive holiday flavor will make you walk outside in your Sandra Bullock sweater enjoying the luxurious drink in the autumn weather. Hot hazelnut horchata latte - Good blend of all the flavors, added caramel to better blend the flavors. I must come back and try more of the coffee variety and of course the desserts.

A bit noisy and frequently crowded, but excellent choice and neighborhood to catch up with a friend. Modern Turkish influences and plenty of plant-based choices on the menu.

This is a haven for the plant based consumer. The entire menu uses conscious ingredients and they have some wonderful concoctions. Some of my favorites are the horchata latte, Korean honey ginger tea, chaggacino, and the traditional Turkish coffee. Bonus they offer pup cups and have an awesome patio to enjoy them on.

An extremely elegant, organic, pure, delicious, SMART cafe located at the intersection of Leland and Lincoln! Try: hazelnut truffle blended, breakfast burrito, or the feta kale açma (where did it go??). The staff knows their craft so well they should be making BARISTAS, not drinks. Top notch cafe that is worth a visit or two (or three, or everyday).

I’m a simple man, I see coffee on a menu, I drink the coffee. Oromo has a fantastic Latte, the brew is a little on the darker side so if you prefer your coffee bitter this is a great place to go! It personally isn’t an issue for me but I was also impressed when ordering that the staff made it a point to verify which milks I was okay with having in my drink. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the drinks are class. I personally haven’t tried the teas and pastries as I’m new to the area, however those whom I went with last time made sure to let me know they were quite pleased with their orders. Solid café to stop by in the $5-10 range, and if your in the area I’d highly recommend!

UPD: Changed my review rating after an apology response from the staff. I appreciate that they took time to go through this with their team and seem to be willing to improve customer service and quality of their drinks. They owe me one hell-of-a good drink if and when I decide to order from them again. 6.12.21 Used to like this place for their crafty creations. But today was very disappointed. Ordered a cold brew & hazelnut truffle from their frozen blends menu. Paid 10.23 for that. They ran out of hazelnut milk, so I got it replaced with oatmilk. Instead of a frozen blend, I got a plain cold brew, no frozen banana or caramel syrup or whatsoever. Had to throw it away halfway through drinking it. No attention to what customer ordered, done in a rush, such waste of time & money.

This cafe is one of the worse I walked into. Lack of customer service hospitality politeness and good food. Order was taken wrong and when adressed got an attitude in return. Ordered Turkish bread with feta and dill, one if the worse pastries I ever tasted and wasn’t cheap to dump in the garbage. Honestly wasn’t sure if it was just crappy dough than under cooked or if it was just old and gone bad. Definitely not s place to go for so many reasons.

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! This place made our Sunday, loved the ambience, vibes, music, service and food. Ordered the pistachio rose latte, saffron turkish delight, hazel nut brownie, and almond turkish coffee and a potatoe pastry, the latte was beautifully made and tasted unique and good. Both the desserts were amazing, they got more and more intense as we ate more. I felt I was eating something of high quality and uncommon like caviar or some vintage wine. We will definitely visit again, looking forward to it

I love this place so much! I go there often because it is so close to my home. The caprese sandwich is so good. They also have this special Turkish coffee there that is to die for! The owner is super sweet and always so happy to see his customers enjoying his authentic pure beverages and food. If you are looking for a unique Turkish experience or just want a really delicious latte this is the place for you.

Definitely not nut allergy friendly but i decided to take the risk anyways and had no problems! The staff was super friendly and assured me they would try their best to keep things as separate as they could. I got a lavender latte and the cucumber/avocado bagel sandwich. Definitely will risk it again and come back!

Oromo Cafe brings a taste of Turkey to you. I tried Turkish coffee for the first time and loved it. It's not your regular coffee, it has more texture, flavor, and aroma. Its definitely on the stronger side. The coffee was beautifully presented and really enjoyed my first experience. They serve Turkish pastries, coffee, and other artisanal coffee and teas made fresh daily! Try them on your next visit. Service is a 10/10! Great place to enjoy coffee, study and or work. I spent the morning there working on my laptop and enjoying delicious coffee. The Wi-Fi is great. They have two locations and are open daily.

What a gem! I had already had my morning coffee, but was looking for a healthy bite to eat before starting my day. Fate led me to Oromo, and I couldn't have been happier. I was greeted with a cheerful smile, and ordered the everything bagel with mint pesto cream cheese. It was incredible. The bagel, something that almost no one in Chicago can make correctly, was as close to NYC as it gets (you have competition NY Bagel & Bialy), crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. And the spread was next level. As I paid, I noticed a fig/date/pistachio energy ball. That's 3 of my favorite flavors, so I couldn't pass it up. Phenomenal! I can't wait to tell others about this place, and to come try some other great options!

Stopped by here to get some coffee. The interior was lovely. Ordered the pistachio rose latte iced and it was disappointing to say the least. Had a really bitter flavor that tasted nothing like pistachio or rose.

I’ve been to Oromo Cafe a few times before and enjoyed it each time. The staff really knows their stuff, they’re knowledgeable and accommodating. I ordered their house coffee, the Mexican Chiapas blend. It's very good in fact I commented a few times to my friend how good it was that unbeknownst to me she bought me a bag to take home. Very nice touch and much appreciated. They have homemade nut milks and gluten free sweets. I will definitely go back and try something new.

A gem of a place. Kind and knowledgeable staff. Delicious food. Lots of creative drink/food options for anyone avoiding dairy or that are vegan or vegetarian. I really appreciate the thoughtfulness of the menu. I come here regularly to do a little writing - lots of different types of tables or bar space to choose from. Love this cafe!

The place is super cozy and the drink was so good. I ordered Pistachio rose latte and a snack on the side (forgot the name). Definitely my favorite place to get some work done especially in the cold rainy day.

I ordered the pistachio rose latte and this is how it looked… Very cute and very good. I love this cafe! My husband and I stopped in on a whim and really enjoyed our time here. Great service and nice atmosphere. This will be on my list of places I must visit whenever I come back into town. Too bad that we don’t have cafes this nice back at home.

Great digs! The place is very earth-oriented with alot of Eastern influences in their beverages and bites (i.e. Ayurveda). As such, prepare your taste buds for more earthly flavors. I would recommend to my vegan, health conscious, and planet friendly friends!

The cafe is very charming. It is calmly ambient, with plants and sunlight. The workers are friendly. The space is good for studying and conversation. I was disappointed by the drink I ordered, it was a watery pecan pumpkin latte with little taste. I do want to try a different order in hopes that I'll have a better flavor experience, because the location and environment of this cafe is very appealing.

Love this place for unique coffee drinks and fun gluten free treats! The goat cheese toast on GF bread is my fav and I always try a new baked good as well. The options are always fabulous. Staff is always friendly and fresh flowers are on the tables. I also love that Oromo offers my favorite woman owned and led coffee brand: Chapin Coffee!

Congratulations on your prompt and excellent service! I was overjoyed to discover your coffee shop so close to my home. I liked the atmosphere because it was so refined. I enjoy ordering a latte and cheesecake from your restaurant. You just have my taste, you guys! You expect me to persuade others to recommend your coffee shop! Oh, no! Best wishes!
