I ordered the power monkey smoothie with an extra shot of espresso & a Manet breakfast sandwich. I love the artist gallery theme throughout the space. Lots of people came in with their dogs and they had cute free little dog treats. It’s just a super awesome Saluki owned cafe in Bucktown. You get coffeehouse + gallery & it’s awesome. 👏🏾

One of the best coffee shops in Chicago. Massive supporter of local artists too! I've had the pleasure of showcasing my artwork here and love the atmosphere. I recommend a smoothie or latte!

The coffee here is incredible. I bought beans to make it at home, but it didn't quite live up to a fresh cup from the cafe. I wish they had vegan sandwiches and pastries, but they do have plant-based milk options. Love looking at the rotating art installations and massive plant collection.

Cute and cozy corner spot with really cute creatively-named menu items! Love the atmosphere: fun music, interesting art by local artists for sale on the walls, and the folks behind the counter are super kind and friendly! Almost everything is made to order and super delicious too. 😋

Decided to stop by today and pick up some breakfast sandwiches and boy do I regret it. I got the basquait and the bob Ross. The cashier informed me that they were sold out of the biscuits for the basquait and she can do it on a croissant. That’s fine, no problem. My problem is that the croissant was wayyyy over burnt. I tried overlooking the color and wanted to still eat but I couldn’t because all I could taste was burnt. Im so disappointed. The coffee was okay and I think customer service can improve. Overall, I will definitely not be coming back.

One of the worst coffee experiences I have had in Chicago. They cancelled my order on the Joe Coffee app as I was walking in. By doing so charging my card 2x, 70 dollars was expensive for a day of coffee expenses even if 30 was being returned in a couple days. I had to re order all of the food and coffee, and it would have been alright if the coffee and food was good.... but all of the drinks were wrong. I didn’t know an iced americano had milk in it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The main issue is that I waited in the coffee shop as many of the other customers we served and addressed, I was not given information until I had waited for 45 minutes after prying the barista. Too much expended. I need coffee

I ordered the Spicy Bob Ross and it was almost as if Bob Ross himself painted taste mountains upon my hungover taste buds. I was instantly revived and ready for work as the sandwich made it's way from my stomach to each individual cell in my body. And the coffee was good too. 10/10 must try.

My favorite hidden gem in the city! As someone who visits coffee shops on the daily, this particular cafe has a mix of character, community and food and drinks. I love that this place is also an incredible platform to highlight local artists and their art. Service is always above and beyond and I’ve never been disappointed. Will be visiting again very soon! And again….and again :)

Great experience. As a tourist from Seattle, this cafe presents Wicker Park neighborhood very well to me. Great atmosphere, great music, great bagel (I ordered Davinci + avocado spread). Great outdoor seats outdoor. Price is reasonable too. Great staff, very friendly. I recommend to whoever stays in Wicker Park Airbnb for their Chicago trip!

Gallery Cafe was a super cute place to grab an afternoon snack and a cup of tea. We got the honey lavender latte and hot blueberry hibiscus tea. We also got one of their blueberry muffins as well as their iced elderflower hibiscus tea.

The cafe had a good atmosphere, medium amount of seating, and the cold brew was nice. They roast the beans in house which is nice, adds quality to cup. They can print foam art which is pretty cool. No complaints.

Checked out this place for the first time today and was very happy with my experience. The cafe is really cool and I loved all of the art displayed. The worker was incredibly helpful, answering all of the questions I had and sharing some of their personal favorites. The spicy Bob Ross sandwich was really good and the spiced brown sugar latte I had was delicious! Definitely will return and definitely recommend trying this place!

Gallery Cafe has some of the best lattes in the city hands-down. Their breakfast sandwiches are always great on-the-go, and both of their signature smoothies are unique, great for an energy boost. They have constantly rotating local art throughout the cafe which never disappoints!

Cozy place with full of artistic sensibility and unique atmosphere. It is one of the great pleasures of visiting this cafe to see the artworks of local artists. Of course their foods are great. Davinci and Manet are my two favorite sandwiches in there. Price is reasonable.

The almond croissant was so delicious, moist and packets with almonds and paste. Dusted with powered sugar, and not overly sweet, it went perfectly with their dark today Colombian coffee. Best breakfast in Chicago thust far. They also have an adorable rock garden and you can paint a rock while eating!

I feel iffy writing this bc the first time I came here I got a great breakfast sandwich and coffee but waited a very long time. This time I paid for my latte and waited over 20 minutes before I just had to leave while they serviced everyone else. I did not want to stress the girl out more who was making coffees but it was pretty ridiculous seeing people come and go. Not to mention it was a $7 latte so like…anyways walked out without the coffee and the $7

Great service the cashier was very nice and caring. Would most definitely come back just because of the service here. He made sure I enjoyed my stay. He needs a raise for sure!

This eclectic spot is my go-to when I'm in the area in the morning. Support local artists and get your caffeine fix! The chai is very flavorful and perfectly spiced–not watered-down like other shops. There's also a variety of flavor shots if you want to customize your drink. Pastries are soft and sweet. Sandwiches are tasty, but aren't my thing. Most importantly, the staff are always accommodating, efficient, and communicative. Please visit and let this place become your regular spot too!

This place is okay. Great breakfast sandwiches but the coffee always tastes a little stale. The ventilation inside is terrible so even if you order something to go, you come out smelling like burnt food. The Spicy Bob Ross breakfast sammie doesn’t disappoint though.

I love Gallery Café - both of ‘em! Excellent coffee, breakfast/lunch, and vibes. Featured artist per month (?) and the one here is Jesse Hora. + the “Power Monkey” smoothie - which is life. They were so kind to house some painted violins for my orchestra program’s fundraiser. Overall great people.

  • 5/5 Klaudia L. 9 months ago on Google
I got the DaVinci, an everything bagel with egg, cheese, bacon, and sliced tomatoes - delicious, good size, fair priced. The Rothko coffee was like latte style with honey and lavender - you can definitely tell the flavours were there, next time I'd get it just a little less sweet. The place inside is very art oriented, with options for kids for coloring and creating. They also sell some local art, including prints and candles (some sold in cup/saucer sets). Overall, recommend, for their food options (breakfast available at lunch, etc.) and atmosphere.

  • 5/5 David W. 8 months ago on Google
Bob Ross sandwich is amazing for only $9. It is a gentle vibe inside, you can paint some rocks for the garden outside and look at cool art. Great place for a morning date in a trendy neighborhood.

Gallery Cafe is one of my favorite coffee shops in Chicago. Great coffee and pastry selection. Service as expected for a coffee shop (if you know what I mean). Love the art from local artists. My only issue is (obviously avoidable) being caught inside while they roast the coffee, that smell sticks to your clothes and hair and doesn't go away and is not very pleasant.

This place is down the street from our friend’s house, so we always stop by when we’re visiting. Great coffee and breakfast sandwiches! They even offer gluten free buns, which I appreciate.

This is my favorite coffee shop in Chicago. They have rotating local artwork and cute plants inside. There is outdoor seating during warmer months, but plenty of indoor seating when it is cold out. They have amazing seasonal drinks and all of your usual coffee shop favorites. The breakfast sandwiches are a full meal, the Bob Ross is my personal favorite. It has a community vibe in that there are local business postings/business cards and they offer a punch pass where if you drink 10 coffees you get your next one free. It is super dog friendly, they even have dog treats and a water dish. Great coffee spot, highly recommend if you want a local Wicker/Bucktown experience.

Super unimpressed. Muffins are insanely greasy and their white chocolate mocha was pretty bland and overall disappointing. Had high hopes based on other people’s reviews and more than likely won’t return.

Love this place! First of all look at this latte art! But the staff was super friendly, coffee delicious, super calm atmosphere, reliable wifi, and plenty of outlets and seating. Its a smaller place, but we had no problem finding a place to get settled and knock out some work.

First off, you smell from blocks away the coffee. When I entered, I quickly realized that they roast there own coffee inside the shop which is amazingly different then your “average coffee shop.” The coffee taste was so fresh! I also had an amazing grilled chicken sandwich! The atmosphere was perfect and superb customer service. Definitely recommend Gallery Cafe!

  • 2/5 Noah F. 4 years ago on Google
Gallery Cafe has lovely ambiance, a fantastic space, great staff, amazing food and world-class coffee. Abled people are strongly encouraged to eat here! For the disabled: the counter is too high for wheelchair users to reach and the café is up an external step. After the external step the interior is all accessible, with no less than seven (!!) tables that are at wheelchair height, an unusual quantity for a restaurant, especially a small café. Were there an available ramp, it would be a great place for wheelchair users to eat. The menu is all written on the walls and there is no large print paper version available; the tea menu is in size 8-10 font on paper without high contrast and virtually illegible. They sell pastries from the day before for $1, a good price for poorer patrons who need to get inside. Were Gallery Cafe more friendly to disabled customers, it would be one of the best coffeeshops in Chicago.

Good coffee. Great street views. Art on the wall. Quiet. Free WiFi. Tiny restroom. Raggedy seating. Pretty standard coffee shop. Wasn't blown away, but it did the job.

  • 4/5 Todd L. 4 years ago on Google
First, it's NOT Starbucks. Support local. Their theme is "art" and, as such, one can purchase the art that is on display- another nice touch. The coffee is good and so are the art-themed sandwiches. Simply, a comfortable place to read, have a latte and lunch on a pastry or sandwich.
