So we ended up here waiting get into another restaurant actually. Figured we'd get some coffee while we waited. Well a tornado warning went off in the Chicago area and altered our plans a bit. We ended up having brunch here and it was solid. Nothing that will blow you away imo, but the experience was overall pleasent. The coffee was good. The food was good. The atmosphere was nice. And the staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend for a nice coffee and bite kind of morning.

What was once a favorite of mine has fallen to a poorly run, frustrating, terrible cafe experience. The wait for everything is too long. Dining in, we received food so long before our coffee that we had finished before we had drinks. I ordered a cappuccino to go, it came in a large cup which was filled halfway with foam. We left our credit card or, more likely, it wasn't returned to us. We took a 30 minute train ride the next day to retrieve it and found at 10am on a Saturday that the cafe hadn't opened yet even though their published hours say 7am. Really, they have gone from one of the best to one of the very worst.

What an awesome little cafe! On the outside it looks like a chain coffee shop-bakery, but once you step inside the vibe changes. The atmosphere is very casual and neat and this place is perfect for a relaxed breakfast, lunch, or snack (including a small group). The service is attentive and fast and friendly and the menu is great. They have amazing tea and coffee selections and a good selection for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts (pasteries). Everything seems to be made in-house and fresh. I got a darjeeling tea with the turkey and avacado sandwich, and both were great. They really hit the spot. Overall a fantastic find in the neighborhood. The only downfall, a little pricey for what you get. My sandwich was 9 dollars, a little steep in my opinion. Still a great choice for something casual. Perfect place for breakfasts and brunches. Classic European style and design, live music and aromatic coffee. Big selection of traditional european desserts such as apple strudel.

Pricey place. Service was good, pastries and coffee were average.

By far the best coffee in town. Very delicious and 99% authentic Vienna breakfast. Personell is highly professional and friendly. Definitively recommendable. Try the Wiener Melange is a must have.

I always get the goulash - it’s full of flavors. Their coffee was also delicious.

Absolutely loved the whole experience. This charming Austrian cafe has an amazing array of delicious and healthy, yet tasty breakfast options. I ordered the Imperial Frühstück and was over the moon with everything about it. It was like being in Europe all over again. Will definitely be visiting more often now that I've happened upon this gem. Highly recommend!

This place is such a little gem that has stood the test of time. It was cute 10 years ago and still the same. I would suggest checking it out if you're in the area for a quick bit or an afternoon of just enjoying some coffee. Great vibe here and welcoming staff.

Enjoyed the experience quite a bit. The goulosh was a nice bit of comfort food. The chocolate decadence was very good, but the presentation was a little bland.

Just like in Europe! Love the cookie that comes with your hot drink order. It's exactly how the cafe that I was familiar with in Switzerland serve their hot drinks. With a cookie! We had a black forest cake and a hot drink. The cake was tasty, very boozy which was perfect. Drink was too sweet so we asked for some milk to dilute the sweetness. The waitress was really pleasant and responded well during our interactions. I saw someone ordered a brunch plate that was loaded with nicely cut fruits. Will come back to try the brunch!

I love this coffee shop! Having lived in Vienna it is a delight to sip a Melange coffee again and enjoy their pastries in Chicago!

One of my go-to brunch spots! The avocado baked eggs were delicious and the service can’t be beat. They even gifted us with tulips for Mother’s Day brunch!

So good, will definitely be going to this place again while I’m in Chicago. I was out for a walk and this place was super inviting for solo diners. Had the quiche and salad and it was fantastic.

Lovely place. Great atmosphere, and the pesto salad was SUPER YUMMY! Definitely has that old world feel and I love it. Service was good too. They didn’t bother me much but were fast and efficient when I asked for anything. Thank you!

Croissants and breakfast bites are great. House coffee is great too. Staff is friendly but a little inattentive when food orders delay much more than expected.

Their cold pressure mocha with almond milk and house vanilla syrup was the best mocha I've ever had. Had to come back twice for it. If you're in the neighborhood, this place is a MUST for coffee and breakfast.
