I’m so in love with my experience at Winter. The atmosphere, music, drinks were top-tier. I ordered the beer and Moscow mule, both non-alcoholic. That beer was delicious, and I recognize how weird it is that I love the taste of beer. The music was phenomenal. Jeremy Kahn Quartet with special guest vocalist Julia Danielle did an awesome job! My favorites were “Summertime”, “Mean to Me” and a few others that I didn’t catch the name of. This jazz experience was one of my favorite Chicago tourist experiences. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the area.

I live in the area, so used to go to this jazz club over weekends. Good music, decent sound. Unfortunately, from time to time I felt that I was cheated a little. It is an extra fee for a drink of very poor quality, or 6 dollars charge for “Neat pour” of Bacardi into whiskey glass (see picture attached), or seat where you can see nothing from. All those "little things" are making an impression that someone is trying to steal change from your pocket while you are watching great performance. I wish class of service here matching quality of musicians performing on stage.

Lovely atmosphere and excellent jazz musicians, and friendly service! But I didn't like that we went for the 9.30 show and we had to leave at 11 as the bar was closing, we would have liked to stay longer. I wasn't impressed with their cocktail menu. Even though we were only there for just over an hour we had to spend a minimum of $10 per person in addition to the entry ticket.

One of the Jazz bars in Chicago. We had a good time and the crew on deck was partially engaged. We had a singer (first time after Covid shut down for her)…I was expecting a more engaged band (on a Friday night) and they were very good on the technique and way too stiff. We didn’t need a reservation (you can’t make one).

Our experience at Winter's Jazz Club was such a treat! We booked online last minute, and they were able to accommodate us on a Sunday night. We saw a Bruce Henry Quartet concert that followed the evolution of African American music from Congo Square to Harlem. It was illuminating, exciting, and filled with energy! Winter's is a marvelous intimate setting, the quintessential jazz club.

Great club. Intimate venue with good views and sound, and delicious cocktails. It is a listening club, so it’s best to bring your fellow music fan and not someone you want to catch up with. Expect to pay north of $100 for two if you get a couple drinks and sit on the main floor. But it’s well worth it. Will definitely come back!

While on a business trip to Chicago, I found this place, and I’m glad I did! Great atmosphere, energetic crowd, fantastic staff and the performers I saw were talented, professional and fun. When I come back to Chicago, I may skip the Navy Pier or the Willis Tower, but I won’t skip Winter’s Jazz Club.

I love Jazz, Love it. I had to google a location to watch a live jazz show and this location was in the top 5 searches. Let me tell you, it should be number 1. A very elegant location and I have to say, The best long island iced tea I ever hard in my life. This place is pure magic. Sad because of the Covid you may not be able to visit any time soon but when this pandemic is over, please make a stop by here. I will.

We enjoyed John Dokes trio in this intimate, lovely place. COVID vaccines required (proof at entry, love it). Great for a date night or just to enjoy some great jazz! VIP gets you center stage tables, servers for all tables. Cannot wait to go again! FYI - it’s downstairs, so if you’re entering from Illinois Ave, go down the steps, through the doors, and follow the signs. If you see Roberta’s pizza (take out), hang a left. Bathrooms are outside of the venue

I have been to this venue three times to see a particular artist but every time me and my guests were treated very poorly. To begin with I booked thickets for a party of 4 and paid for VIP thickets but upon entering the venue even though 4 seats were available together they asked us to seat seperately mentioning that those 4 seats were for single guests. Well three remained empty until at least after the start of the show. When it came down to ordering drinks one of my guests was not drinking alcoholic beverage so I asked to order two drinks for myself instead of her to comply with their policy of purchasing one drink per guest but they refused to have me order two drinks and the other guest not ordering one. It made absolutely no sense. They are inflexible and nonresponsive and very rude to their guests. When I asked to talk to their manager the person seating us said she was the manager. We had a terrible experience and decided even to see our favourite artists it's not worth going to "Winter's Jazz Club".

I only had a scotch, so can't say about food or drinks. But the place and the great jazz we saw that night, was an awesome way to finish my trip to Chicago.

First time here tonight (9/10). We were the first ones in the door about 90 minutes before the show and watched the band warm up while receiving great service from the bar. The seating is well thought out with great views of the stage. Atmosphere is key at a jazz club and this place has it-it is clean, beautifully decorated with exposed brick and the atmosphere is intimate and not overly crowded. I thought the VIP seating was worth the extra few bucks-we were six feet from the band. There were also some great views of the stage from the bar that is well worth only a $7 cover charge. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. The owner Scott was there making sure everyone was taken care of-got to meet him and the band after the show. My new favorite Jazz club. We can’t wait to come back, this place is awesome.

We’ve been going to Winter’s since it first opened and it became our go to jazz place. Excellent selection of artists up close and personal. Very competitive ticket pricing.

There is no food and limited selection of drinks. There was $30 entrance and $10 minimum drink. We were told not to talk while ordering our drinks. The music definitely was not worth the price. I wanted to try a new place and it was not worth it. The group started 43mins late and was done 47 mins later.

Winter's Jazz Club is consistently a winner. You can't beat the atmosphere, service, and of course the musical talent they book. I only wish they served food. From the greeters that welcome you, the coat check, and servers, everything is pure class. Lisa is a wonderful hostess and is passionate about making everyone's experiences memorable. Musical artists will frequently interact with fans after their show and autograph CDs. Artist Seen: 🎺 Leroy Jones (Trumpeter) SB

Our first visit to Winters on Thursday night thoroughly enjoyed the experience, nice atmosphere, friendly service and an excellent music from the Chris Greene Quartet. Highly Recommend

Make sure to bring your vaccine proof! Masks aren't enough. My medical history is truly none of their business. I understand the pressures businesses are facing but you've got to stand up at some point. They were nice to point us in the direction of another Jazz club. We told them thanks. Unfortunately didn't even get to get a drink from them as they just wouldn't serve us.

Cool vibes, we were recommended this place as a good jazz bar so we went, he was bang on! It was slower music the night we were there and we hoped for faster but still had a great time! Kinda confusing to get to but really cool once you find it!

After a hard time with traveling and finding a hotel, this place really made my day. Already entering the club I got a warm welcome by the club owner in person. I saw an atmospheric small stage all ready for a promising gig. And my expectations got more than merely fulfilled. The singer Libby York with her tender and dynamic voice wove perfectly with the high class and very proficient accompanying piano trio. All my hardship and weariness fell off me and I could float unburdened in the merry world of Jazz. I can only reccomend Winter's Jazz Club. If you are visiting Chicago, don't leave it out!

Nice and cozy venue and great Jazz shows! It’s usually two shows, 7:30pm and 2nd show is at 9:30pm. Full bar and great service. They don’t serve food but you can grab some bar food next door at Pinstripes.

Fantastic venue! Just the right size for jazz. Reasonable price for "VIP" tables.

Here from Iowa and was planning to come to your club to listen to good music. Unfortunately due to the request of covid vaccine passport requirement we decided to go elsewhere. Vaccines are private medical information and peoples choice not yours.

Went here for a date night with my boyfriend and the Chicago Jazz Orchestra was playing. Overall great venue and experience. Really intimate vibe. I took away one star because there is little to no signage outside the building so it’s hard to find. It ended up being inside and downstairs the 411 (I think) entrance even tho the address for winters is 465. There is another entrance by the river front but there’s also no signage for it from the street. Drinks are reasonably priced ($15 or less for cocktails). Definitely try to get there a little early because seating is first come first serve for VIP and GA respectively but there really aren’t any bad seats. I was also a little disappointed because one of the musicians had three different instruments set up next to him that he never ended up using.

Lovely vibe. Great set up of the tables. BUT subjectively I didn’t enjoy the performance that much. It was by Bobbi Wilson, so if you love high pitch voice then she is the one you want to see. However if high pitch is not your thing, perhaps you won’t love it as much. The venue is clean and service is nice. COST: $30+ per ticket and then $10 mandatory drink spent + tax (adds up!) + tip. So for two people it’s an easy $80-100 at the minimum.
