Attended the Kwanza celebration. We had a very nice time. The children enjoyed learning about this African American tradition.

Took my nieces in son during a visit to Chicago. I enjoyed it as well as the kids. The admission is only $5 (cash only) and the parking is plentiful and free. I loved the various exhibits because they are educational and interactive which is great for kids. As an adult, it’s great to hear so much Black History that’s overlooked in the education system. I wished we had more time to hear about other Black inventors or a way to apply the learning in real time. The kids especially loved the playtime exhibit and the fitness room. When it was time to leave the begged to stay longer. I promised I’d bring that back in the future.

Extremely educational, interactive and fun. We went as a family of 6. We had a 1, 3, 5 and 16 year old. There appeared to be 4 rooms and you’re able to do 3 rooms per tour. I loved how my children were able to learn about Black inventors and get to see, touch, smell to learn and remember these inventors and their contribution to the world we live in. My 5 year old loved the STEAM and song that was taught. In the STEAM room they even accommodated my 16 year old by allowing him to code. Our tour guide was very patient, straight forward, engaging and warm at the same time. We had a great time and would definitely come again. You’re able to get a membership and they have events year round. Highly recommend. Takes about 2 hours to fully make it through.

While the website indicates that the tours are designed for children over 3, it does not indicate that children under 3 will be turned away at the door. Please update your website so parents do not make a long drive and are disappointed at the entrance.

This is definitely a hidden gem here in the windy city. There is so much hidden history in the museum. Great idea of this. CPS should make this a manditory/required field trip. The staff was very professional and full of knowledge. My family enjoyed every moment. The museum was clean and safe for the children as well. I look forward to revisiting.

I went today and when i say i had such a horrible experience coming in. Today i took my daycare kids a total of 18 children ,we where greeted so rudely as if these weren’t toddlers ,the two staff there where not friendly at all and not welcoming . They kept talking to the children as if these weren’t babies that are going to play and not follow directions again that’s why this is a called a childrens museum. I will highly recommend a new staff who are more patience with kids until then i will never support them again . Plus they only accept cash what type of establishment only take cash and this is a museum really have to do better .

I have a 2 year old and 11yr old. The Bronzeville Children Museum turned us around and denied us entry on a rainy day. I traveled to Bronzeville from the Westside of Chicago only to be turned around. I know the website said 3-9yrs old, but my Children are well traveled and exposed to rigorous content. Also the name of the establishment is Bronzeville CHILDRENS Museum. It should be for all children. The owner and her daughter stopped us at the door. I was so disappointed, and I currently still feel let down. My children were robbed of an educational opportunity. There were no othere children or adults in the building they could have accommodated us in learning. I could have taken my children to Art institute that day.

Over the past 13 years we have always had great experiences with this black and women owned business. I appreciate the discipline and dedication that they offer to our children and community. It is definitely a very structured environment 😊 which may not be suitable for everyone.

My 7 yr old granddaughter her 9yr old cousin and I went here today. They were more interested in the playing than the valuable African American history lessons offered, which I enjoyed. Staff was great, very knowledgeable.

Can't rate... it was closed. Kinda sucks tho because CPL only gives 1 pass per year and now we're unable to go this year since we already checked pass out... I wished they would have posted their closing... what a waste🤦🏾‍♀️

This museum is surely for learning. Kids who are younger than 3 may have a hard time sitting and enjoying. However, my gbaby who is one did a great job with his papa. The kids learn a lesson and participate in a fun learning activity then watch a short video then they play before moving to a second room with the same structure. The tours are about 2 hours long.
