I went to the magnificent Latin Mass at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Chicago on the last Sunday in August at 11am. It's definitely the most beautiful church I have ever entered!! The beauty is absolutely spectacular! There was great reverence for Our Lord. There are several Mass times. I highly recommend visiting this church for Mass or prayer. The parking is limited to a small lot or street parking. I took an Uber. It worked perfectly for me.

It's a beautiful traditional church with old architecture and beautiful statues and stained glass windows that truly depict the Catholic faith. The parish is great and the Canons give traditional Masses in both the ordinary form and the extraordinary form, the Traditional Latin Mass.

Stunning. Beautiful old world Catholic Church. Made my way over there for a weekday morning mass. Wonderful liturgy and a church where one needs time to actually sit there in wallow in the surrounding beauty. Stain glass, relics, paintings, a renovated wooden floor with rich designs. I took a car there from Michigan Avenue (about 10 minutes) and walked back (about 30 minutes).

I understand why this was voted most beautiful Church in America. It was smaller than I anticipated (when compared to Mary of the Angels, for example), but still not a "small Church" by any means. The attention to detail everywhere is breathtaking, and the smell of wood and incense contributes to the sensory overload you experience when visiting. The Mass was the TLM (Traditional Latin Mass) which for sure isn't for everyone, but it's reverent, sacred, and everyone attending understands what's truly taking place. If I lived anywhere close to the area, this would be the Church I'd be a member of. May God bless the Priests, Deacons, Ssminarians, and Parishioners who call St. John Cantius home. I'll definitely be back when my travels bring me to Chicago again.

The only traditional Latin mass left in Chicago (and maybe the Chicagoland area/state…)!!! It’s a v beautiful and historic church. The clergy there are extremely kind and helpful. My second time going, I happened to catch their summer parish party, and it was hoppin!!! And even though I didn’t come w anyone and knew no one, I was welcomed and included by everyone I interacted w (many of whom took the initiative by first interacting w me!). They had a water balloon fight that was off the chain. And live music. They have classes. And a lil gift shop (which I looove anytime I’m in a church). You rlly can’t go wrong. They don’t only do TLM. They have a few other options, like a sung one, “high” vs “low” mass, etc. After the last Sunday afternoon mass, there’s the rosary and vespers. Rlly a must to check out, if you’re anywhere in the area.

We came to this Church because it was right across the Street from my son's apartment. What a lovely experience this was for me and what a Gorgeous Church. The Parishioners truly participate and are so involved it really warmed my heart! I especially loved seeing all the Young families attending Mass.

A peaceful and glorifying place to meet Our Lord. The beauty of this parish reflects the zeal from its community. One of the highlights of my visit to Chicago.

An absolute gem. If you are in Chicago or the area this is a must see. Those who are fortunate to attend daily or even weekly are most fortunate. Thanks for hosting Exodus 90, if you are a man & looking for true meaning, consider signing up for Exodus 90. It will change your life & help you become the man you are meant to be.

Exceptional church! I was visiting Chicago for a few weeks. I went to this beautiful church on the first morning to participate in a Latin mass, and then I attended the Corpus Christi celebration and later another Sunday mass in English. I was so pleased to see how reverently Mass is celebrated in this church in both traditional and novus ordo ceremonies, priests and laity alike celebrate the Holy Eucharist with reverence and dedication, as would be expected in a Catholic church. Everyone receives the Sacrament kneeling and on the tongue. I wouldn't go anywhere else in Chicago.

You are a Catholic, and you have a child with special needs. The child cries, yells, runs aimlessly. It’s almost impossible to go to Mass with the child. But you still try to teach the kid. One way to try to do it is to visit the church when there are no liturgical activities going on. It’s still hard. Thankfully, the child doesn’t scream, but still runs in the nave. We do everything to make it stop. It is certainly not our intention to be disrespectful: but how can we teach the child if we never take the kid to church? Even though there’s no one inside, a man from the church (volunteer perhaps, but identified) appears out of nowhere to complain with us. Rudely. Inappropriately. We try to explain the situation, but to no avail. We are expelled from God’s temple in all but name. It’s hard to hear Pope Francis complain about “rigidity” all the time, annoying really. But maybe he grew up with this attitude in his youth… It’s the child God gave us, we did not choose this situation: we’d like to have a traditional church that welcomed our ordeal. It’s hard. That church is not Saint John Cantius; beauty without charity is worthless.

A truly remarkable order of priests and brothers who are inspiring and encouraging. These men are demonstrating the Catholic faith by living and teaching God's word. If you need a sign of hope, this is your place.

Beautiful Church and amazing experience. Beautiful reverent liturgies. Theurgy. Sacraments are Mystery and Mystical. Music is outstanding. Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Pentecost, All Souls etc are all amazing and the best ways to encounter the Divine Mysteries of the Theo-Drama.

Quite possibly the most stunning church you will ever see. Unreal devotion and purity contained in the workmanship here. Latin Mass is beautiful as well. Few churches can rival it's beauty.

One of the most beautiful churches I've seen. Everything is crafted with wood and the floors are amazing. I can't believe they let you walk on them!

I had the pleasure of attending Latin mass visiting from Detroit, not familiar too much with high mass but it caught my heart in many ways. My confession was graceful as well as mass. I’ve been here before to see the church on a different occasion but what caught my eyes was not only the beauty but there were prayers that were sung at a certain time which was so angelic. I couldn’t wait to come for mass. I was very happy to find such a traditional church in Chicago. God bless the priests of this church. They were so amazing
