It was very a interesting place, there were several different play areas for kids. There was grocery store, police car, fire truck, Legos, water table, recycled art area, dress up area with a curtain like a stage etc etc etc....the kids LOVED IT. I will definitely be going back.

This is my FAVORITE Children's Museum in the city! So many fun activities. We stayed for an hour and a half this time and never even played downstairs because there was so much to do upstairs. The staff was friendly and everything was very clean. Pre-pandemic there was a lunchroom with a fridge and microwave we could use but it's closed for now. It wasn't crowded at all so my girls could freely play with everything without waiting. They even have baby chicks that my toddlers got a chance to pet... sooo cute! We will definitely be back soon

So many interactive activities for your kids! Definitely more fun for younger (I’d say 8 and under). Perfect for those cold and or rainy days. Do wish parents paid more attention to their kids as some kids are rough lol but that’s not on the museum or staff itself.

I was hesitant to bring my 10-yr-old to this museum because the website says it’s geared for children up to age 8. But it was a dreary morning, and we wanted something to do, so we tried it. Yes, it depends on the child, and age 8 is probably ideal, but my son had so much fun here, playing with other kids, pretending he was a fire fighter, police officer, doctor, etc. For $13/person it’s worth it to spend a few hours, go for lunch nearby, and come back to play some more. 😊

This is a perfect place for toddlers! Great entertaining environment. Lots of things to choose from. They have a small gated area for smaller babies as well. $13 for adults and children 1 and up, your toddler will enjoy it.

Great children's museum to spend a few hours with the little ones. My 6 and 4 year old love coming here, they're always exhausted after leaving. The price of admission is more than fair. Guests can leave and come back (be sure to get a stamp.) The staff are friendly and very helpful. My kids have fun and it's also great for adults to play and spend time with their kids/grandkids. They have a gift shop with some neat toys if you're interested.

This museum is worth the drive if you are not local. We love the inclusion and sensory friendly hours and events. Lots to do but not overwhelming for kids- or parents!

I highly recommend this museum. I used to work at the Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier but this place is ridiculous, (there's a mini MRI machine). I had a couple of hours to kill with my 4 year old nephew today and so we visited for the first time. For $12 each we had a blast and I was told by the 4 year old that we'd have to come back because he didn't have enough time to do everything he wanted. Also, thank you to the staff member who very patiently walked him through trying to replicate the Smurf they had drawn on the chalkboard. You are talented and were awesome with him.

This museum is not as big as the one in Navy Pier but the children still have fun and spend few hours in there.

It's perfect!!!! Better than the big museum downtown. They have lots of realistic activities kids will love. They had a pretend grocery store, costumes for shows, sit in police car, lots of learning activities. Not crowded, free parking, great staff everything was clean and in it's place. I would definitely recommend this place I have a five year old and a 10.month old baby and they also had activities for the baby which was awesome! Five stars all the way across.

We wanted something fun for the kids so we could get out of the house and have a nice time. Children's museum in Oak Lawn provided that. Lots of activities for smaller and bigger kids. Verity of toys, but also stations for arts and crafts. All the toys were very well organized, and what really made me happy was to see how well the employees were keeping up with cleaning and putting stuff in its place. Everything was constantly being wiped down.

This place is great! My 2 and 3 year old had so much fun, they didn’t want to leave! So many interactive activities, and the staff is so nice. Staff were seen walking around, cleaning and keeping things organized. One of the staff in particular (Ashley) played “grocery store” with my 3 year old for 20 minutes and went out of her way to ensure she had a good time. Would definitely recommend this place :)

Went on a Tuesday morning. It was a bit busy, but no wait to pay our entry. Around $50 for me and 3 kids and they were entertained for over 3 hours. Two floors of fun for the kids, with an elevator for strollers, wheelchairs, etc. Clean bathrooms. There is a room upstairs with tables if you bring snacks for your kids. They have a good selection of amazing toys for purchase right by the front door.

Really fun for our 3.5 year old. I think maybe it's best for kids under 8. Lots of fun, took us about 2.5 hours to do everything.

We went here for my nephews 2nd birthday party and had the worst experience ever. Felicia came to our room to clean while we were leaving and started throwing things around. We left directly after party ended because of how rude she was. There was another girl cleaning named Sarah and she was very professional unlike Felicia. We will definitely not come back here. I advice everyone not to book a party here unless you want to have it ruined by Felicia. None of the guests stayed to play either after the incident. She literally ran everyone out the whole museum with her attitude.

DO NOT HAVE A PARTY HERE! Very expensive with no host, no help. You have no time to set your party up and enjoy the $350 room. We didn’t even have time to open gifts or sing happy birthday, since we didn’t have enough time to clean we were charged an additional $75 and the place was closing in another 30 minutes. Very dissatisfied and do not recommend anyone to have parties here. The place is nice for kids to come and play but not to host a birthday party, very rushed.

This place has a good amount of activities for the kids, but the admission cost is really high for what you get, especially if two parents are accompanying the child. They need some kind of flat family admission fee, it was fun but we won't be back due to how much it cost our family.

Fun play place to take the children. 2 floors of fun. Filled with different activities. They can paint draw color climb the little tree house. My group ranged from 1-10 and all of them had a great time.

Beautiful play space with toys and set ups that work for all ages. Little ones can sit in the cars and touch the toys while older children can read and learn in each exhibit. Very clean and well kept.

Great place to bring your little ones! I've been here twice with my kids and both times have been amazing!! The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. Lots of fun and things to do in a compact size. They do have a small eating area for those that bring they're lunch with them. The time just flies when you're here. Great place to bring your kids to burn off some extra energy. Highly recommend!

Great place for toddlers to explore and play. From grocery shopping to being an ambulance driver and so much more! Go early and spend the day. You are allowed to leave for lunch and come back in. Parents and grandparents will have just as much fun as the kids. Ask about the membership plans.

Lovely little museum for the tinies. Definitely geared towards toddlers - 7 year olds. It's small but sweet and it typically eats up about 2-3 hours of your time, not to little, not too much (just right). Has a tree house of sorts, musical drums and such, mini marketplace, medical area, water table, blocks area. There are ladies always doing the rounds supervising, making sure everything is in order (always a plus!) Masks are mandatory not matter if your vaccinated or not. I hadn't been back since before the pandemic started. My 9 year old sadly told me that she thinks she's outgrown the place. I tell her that it's ok, it's a part of growing up. My 7 and 2 year old had to be dragged out :) So know you know- this really is geared towards the younger kids.

Some children's museums are focused on elementary age kids and don't have much for a 2 year old. Here, that's the target audience! We had a great time with all the other small kids pushing tiny shopping carts filled with plastic foods. Plus, the excellent use of clear ducts and colorful scarves. A good day was had by all.

Friendly staff and great play areas. I brought my baby, who is 7 months old, and we had a great time. She had a blast crawling around the areas for the bigger kids since it wasn't very crowded on a Wednesday afternoon, but she also really loved the infant section.

Was there for a birthday party and was rushed out before the time was up by management VERY RUDE !!! Not to mention she was standing in front of the doorway just looking into the room while we sang happy birthday we were not even done and she started slamming and throwing kids chairs around complaining about the “mess” we had made. While me and my kids were outside waiting they where told to stop moving the toys around and to stop making a mess , i mean seriously its a kids place what are the expectations of keeping this place clean ? Never again

This place was so cute and had plenty of different activities/areas despite looking small from outside. Big enough to entertain our kids for sure. Went with a friend who just became a member and i guess she gets free guests once in a while? Not sure on that part. Nicely upkept and sizable bathrooms with stepstools for the sink and changing tables. Very smooth and large elevator for strollers. A few benches and couches for parents to sit or allow comfortable nursing. No food on site so definitely happy we ate beforehand. Also staff was super friendly and helped me keep tabs of my eloping toddlers every now and then 😅

  • 2/5 Debbie C. 2 months ago on Google • 22 reviews New
It's okay, but kinda overpriced for what is there. $13 for each adult, but thankfully, our child got in free thanks to a pass from our local library. Still, for the price, I was hoping for more. It was crowded, and unsurprisingly, parents feel it's okay to bring their contagious children there to lick things. Since everything there is dated and unsanitary, my child was sick 24 hours later. Enter at your own risk. My child had a good time, though, so the whole thing was kind of a wash. I doubt we would return... it's not worth the subsequent fever.

Went here over 10 years ago. Place has aged and need of updates. Most of the toys and props are need of replacement. I came Friday (9/22/23) at 11:30 am, it opens at 10am. Place was already destroyed. Picture your kids toy room on its worst day of stuff all over. They do not keep up or maintain it. Who knows how clean it is. Enter at your own risk. I’m sure in about a week my kid will be sick. She’s 2. Its wild wild west here. I won’t return.

Love coming here with the little ones! The Children’s Museum offers so many activities for a wide range of ages. My 7 year old still enjoys coming! It’s never too busy during the week days and there is free parking which is a plus! The staff are very attentive and help keep the activity stations clean and organized!

  • 5/5 Joann P. 1 year ago on Google
I took my granddaughters who are 21/2 years old. They were engaged in exhibits for over two hours. There's two floors so there's room to explore. The variety is great! My favorite was the cow you can actually milk (well, it's water, but the experience is fun and the two year old could do it). The only challenge we had was parking. You can use the garage across the street but the traffic signage is confusing. You are supposed to go up five levels and park on the top of the parking garage. Parking was free but it was a climb past many open spaces. This was a great rainy day activity and we definitely want to go back!

The place is nice I like it a lot. my baby had An amazing time today. The workers are however so rude. I was being watched by an older lady she kept Following me and my baby. My baby is very active he’s everywhere he was grabbing everything and taking it to different areas I’m not sure she thought I was going to steal but I felt very uncomfortable being watched at all times. Other workers were very nice and helpful but just the older lady was so rude I did not like the looks I was given. She would sit down by the piano and watch me. Any area I was at she would walk around and give me and my baby ugly looks. I don’t mind the looks she gave me but not to my baby he’s 2 he doesn’t know any better. very disappointed and upset about this situation.

My kids love going there. It's got a lot of fun and educational things for them to be hands-on with. They have a water table and two sand tables on the first floor. The second floor has a whole lot more to see and do. There is arts and crafts, a children's grocery store, a solar system exhibit, a medical area kids can pretend to be a paramedic or doctor and more. It'll keep your kids busy for a couple of hours easily.

The place is interesting. There are many different activities. Both adults and kids can have fun, though of course the place is designed primarily for the little ones. There were several activities which were turned off or disabled, maybe in need of repair. Some of the toys also need replacement, e.g. the ice cream parlor.

I usually do not write reviews, but I am so diguested and upset at the service I received for my sons birthday party that I need to let everyone who is considering this place to reconsider. I had the guest room for an hour and a half. FELICIA who is the mangement to that place came in the room 5 minutes before my room time was over and started cleaning by throwing chairs and moving tables around while my guests and kids are there. She was so rude that all of my guests left the place talking about how ignorant she was. She kept picking up the little kids chairs and slamming them down the kids tables and rolling her eyes. My guests and I were so upset no one stayed after the party to play in the museum. THIS IS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES. all of my guests returned the free child guest pass to the front desk on there way out. VERY POOR MANGEMENT! VERY IGNORANT! VERY RUDE.
