This park is by my house and I like coming here to sit and read, feel the breeze, listen to the train and sometimes just take in the sounds of the wind against the tree leaves. Almost sounds like the ocean. Keyword “almost”, the river is close by, but not the same. Parents come here to allow their kids to expend their energy. I see a lot of people that do come here to read, be on their phones, you know stuff I do. 😊Sometimes some come to eat a lunch. It’s refreshing to see them and also appreciate the space. Find your local park and go appreciate it.

Fun little park. Music every other Friday night in the summer. Usually they put out a portable toilet in the summer as well. Good place to bring food and picnic. Lots of foot traffic with the shops, train and ballet school.

Fun park in a family friendly neighborhood. There are lots of swings, including for smaller kids, plus jungle gyms, slides, a teeter-totter, tire swing, and a few other fun things. There are benches and tables to sit and eat lunch, plus it's close to the Francisco Brown Line. Stop and grab some pie at First Slice on your way home.

This park is so sweet if you have little kiddos who need to burn off some energy. It's a small park, but besides the fun playground equipment, there are picnic tables and shady spots to have a picnic. Ravenswood Manor is a family friendly neighborhood so don't be surprised if you or the kids make new friends. You can also stop at the nearby First Slice to get a snack or treat.

Great little park for a variety of things. The play equipment is great for younger kids (1-10) and the grass areas with benches are great for a cup of coffee and the newspaper or a book. Very pleasant and good people watching location as well.

Great park to take your kids. Picnic tables available and plenty of places to watch your kids from. Had a great time here!

I went to Brown line El station to buy a fun day pass from vending machine. I had to park by the park.

For such a small park there's plenty of room to play, or sit & relax, or have a snack. The playground equipment is in good condition & my son loves watching the brown line trains go by just north of the park as he plays on the swings. There's a welcoming family atmosphere & cozy neighborhood vibe as parents stop by with babies & toddlers, elementary school aged kids & even younger teens. This park has become a regular destination for my family even with so many bigger parks not too far away.

Quite the production and set-up in this neighborhood for Halloween! Complete with live band and mini-version haunted house!

Small neighborhood park and playground mostly frequented by local families. Brown line Francisco stop is just to the north. Street parking can be challenging at peak times.

Great little park right off the Francisco stop. Kids/parents in that area must just be really nice.

This was the local gang hangout for a lot of us during WWII. We had some rumbles, but for most of the time just hung out. The park area itself was the triangle area (I think there was water fountain there) going towards Eastwood Ave and the park area between Manor Ave and Francisco Ave. No playground area. Just grass and a building facing Eastwood that was closed all the time. We used to hang in and around the drugstore on the corner of Eastwood and Francisco. One pass time was lagging pennies on the sidewalk. Always had Izzie Sutker, the owner, watching us like a hawk. You little devils will steal me blind was his favorite comment. He hired me during one summer for ten cents an hour to work the soda fountain. In those days the ice cream was hand packed. Also, the gates for the L station were manually operated. There was a small structure between the tracks on the east side parallel to the apartment building (4659 Manor) where a gate man had to pull and push large handles that controlled the lowering and raising of the gates by cables . He had arm muscles like a boxer. Oh, and we had girlfriends in the group who were a favorite tease.
