Great neighborhood park that doesn't seem to get to over crowded. The playground has is good for children of all ages and as a bonus they have a sprinkler section for those hot days. The fields have just been redone so maintenance on the park seems to be kept up really well. The down side here like most city parks are that the Basketball rims have been removed but the court remains. Just seems so useless to have that wasted space and negative thinking that takes a kids chance at playing a sport away from them. Added bonus for you Pokemon Go fans, the park has 3 stops that are close to each other so while you or your kids play you get set your lures and watch them spawn!

Athletic Field Park is a large park with a great playground and small water spray feature (among other amenities). The playground is situated on the south side of the park near the field house and includes a very small structure for younger children and a much larger structure for older children. There is also a small water spray feature near the playground. The play area is fully enclosed and the play surface is soft rubber. There are benches in the play area and a few picnic tables nearby as well and although there are trees and a small pavilion in the area, the playground itself is bright and sunny.

The gem here should be the ceramics studio. Unfortunately, it is a disaster. I have taken classes ( or tried to) for 5 years. The park manager is wonderful, but the staff at the ceramics studio is not. Nor is the support that the park gets from the park district. The ceramics studio is a beautiful building that had copper gutters and tin ceiling. They are destroyed and we can barely get a faucet fixed. But the bathroom where the park district area manager is is lovely. Our kiln died and we got a $100,000 grant from the state. Why can’t the city keep this up with all their taxes left and right?? We got a kiln for tens of thousands of dollars and the new teacher won’t use it to its fullest and says it has a bad spot. What?!?! The previous teacher didn’t show up for classes and didn’t give us correct supplies. I had to buy my own and now the new teacher wants them out. The new teacher told a student that they didn’t have time for demos in an open studio. But we had two instructors and they were working on their own projects. The atmosphere is not friendly, the cooperation it null, the attitude is more about what we can’t do than what we can do.

Kids are in summer camp at this park... they seem to love it. Staff is great. My only issue is I've called various times and don't generally get a call back or acknowledgement of my call ..I guess they are busy, so I get it.

My kids always love this park... And there is a toddler play area for the smaller kids to play on.

Fantastic little park, they pack a ton of amenities into a small space. The playground is newer, with a soft surface. The tennis courts are well maintained. The ceramics studio is a rare treasure. The namesake athletic fields are perhaps the least interesting feature of this park, although there is a new sport being practiced there - its like a cross between hackeysack and handball, played with a trampoline. Love the field house too. Just an all time classic, and I've always had good experiences with the staff.

I love this park, as I do most Chicago Public Parks. Grew up going to them and so did my kids.

I was very disappointed because I drove here from the northwest side and the website did not state that certain kid areas of the park were closed. What a waste of time!

This is a fantastic neighborhood park for families, kids, artists. It has a ton of community support which is reflected in the updated playground and Ceramic Studio.

This park offers class for toddler soccer for a fee. It was advertised as 45mins, 2:30-3:15pm, however instructor ends activity at about 10-15mins all the time. Class description needs to match with what is actually offered. Had I known it’s only 10 to 15mins I would not have signed up for this class. Activity itself is wonderful while it lasted that 10mins.
